Don't Disappoint Them, Luca ...revisit his past...
Using the Floo Network, the Corranados, and Lilliana traveled effortlessly and instantly from the Corranado Penthouse in Canary Wharf to the Leaky Cauldron on Charing Cross Road in London. Luca had watched his father, Lorenzo, step into the Floo Network connector within their home and started to step in with him as he always did. Younger children usually traveled with their parents through the network until they were older, so he did what he was used to. However, as he stepped forward, his father held a hand out, stopping him with a shake of his head. "No, today you will travel through on your own," Lorenzo said in his deep bass voice.

The boy's face lit up somewhat nervously, but he tried to hide it from his father, who smirked and assured him quickly that he would be fine. Luca stood there and watched his father more intently than before because he had never seen the process from the outside as he always traveled with someone. He watched the man take a handful of powder, toss it down, and simultaneously speak clearly, "Leaky Cauldron!" The green flames erupted, and he was gone in a flash that blinded them temporarily. Luca looked at his mother expectantly as she urged him to go next. The boy nodded and stepped into the fireplace, facing his mother, who watched him with a smile.

He somewhat nervously took his first handful of Floo powder, held it up in front of him, and spoke as clearly in his baritone as his father, and suddenly, he was blinded by the flame engulfing him. Luca had experienced this many times before, but doing it alone made it seem different. As the fire cleared away, his eyes were filled with an entirely different scene: the bustling Great Hall of the Leaky Cauldron. He didn't dally inside the fireplace in case his mother or nanny came through immediately after, and he stepped out to see his father speaking to the barman at the bar.

"We'll meet in a few days about that land deal, alright? Today is for my boy. He got his letter," Luca could hear his father speaking as he stepped next to him. Once his father knew Luca was there, he proudly placed a hand on the boy's shoulder. The barman looked down at Luca and tapped the bar with his knuckles, "Well, congratulations, my boy!"

"Thank you, sir," Luca responded with a smile. Shortly after, Lorenzo, Amelia, Luca, and Lilliana found a table to sit and enjoy a meal at the Leaky Cauldron before making the trek into Diagon Alley.

"Coffee?" a voice asked from the end of their four-top table. The voice belonged to a lower-middle-aged, long-haired woman who was a waitress for the Leaky Cauldron. She had an inviting smile and wandering eyes, looking between the adults for an answer. Luca watched as his mother, father, and nanny accepted the offer of coffee. He watched as the smooth black liquid flowed from the spout of the coffee pot into their ceramic mugs that were preset on the table. After everyone's cup was full of coffee, the pretty waitress asked Luca, "What'll ya' drink?"

"Can I have coffee?" Luca asked, looking at Lorenzo.
"You won't like it, honey," Amelia said, knowing her son.
"He's becoming a man now. Let him try new things," Lorenzo replied.

Luca smiled and looked to the waitress, who gave a slight shrug and filled his cup with coffee. After finishing the table's round of drinks, the waitress put the coffee pot on a passing waitress's empty serving tray before turning to the table. She brushed her hands on her apron and brought out an auto-writing quill and notepad. With the quill and notepad floating near her head, she asked, "Care for a spot of breakfast?"

The Corranado men were raised as gentlemen, so Lorenzo and Luca prompted Amelia and Lilliana to go first. When they were finished, Luca ordered, followed by his father. Everyone had a varied version of a traditional English breakfast. Lilliana had poached eggs and fried bread with bacon. Amelia opted for some fried tomatoes. Luca had scrambled eggs, bacon, and black pudding. Lorenzo settled on scotch eggs and bacon. A light conversation ensued before their meals were brought out in short order.

The Great Hall of the Leaky Cauldron was a crowded place, but Charles Azure was soon immersed in the lively atmosphere of it. Whispers and plate motions mixed in the room and created an intense feeling of exhilaration in his heart. His well-groomed haircut rested just above his eyes and his big smile lit his features; he noticed both excitement and nervousness on his face.

His cobalt blue eyes moved rapidly through each of the different groups of people that filled the hall. The tables were covered with multiple family groups sitting as their friends exchanged stories about what they did during the summer days. The room was filled with so many things to do, but he pushed himself to join the fun.

When he saw the table occupied by a very shrewd family, his inquisitiveness overwhelmed him. He wanted to meet new friends so he approached the setting and built confidence in his social life that will come in future. He was full of optimistic energy, so he moved forward, hesitating a little.

When he arrived, he greeted them, 'Umm.. hi there, ' his voice turned soft unintentionally at that moment.
“Will you be going to Diagon Alley together?” His stomach felt a bit of nervousness but he was able to present himself in a welcoming manner.

There had been some time that passed between the arrival of the group's meals and the random boy approaching their table. Everyone had started eating their food, including Luca, who was digging into his black pudding when the boy approached. He had also tried a few sips of black coffee that he found extremely bitter. Luca tried to hide the displeasure on his face, wanting to try new things with some grace. The boy's dilemma was assisted by his mother, Amelia, and his nanny, Lilly, suggesting he cut down the bitterness with sugar and cream. Adding those made it much more enjoyable and he happily swallowed the remainder of the now sweeter liquid.

All four turned their gaze to the boy, who nervously said hello before asking if they were on their way to Diagon Alley. Amelia and Lilliana's faces melted into a nurturing smile at the boy, while Lorenzo's face remained even as he kept chewing a bit of his scotch eggs. Luca studied the boy briefly as he finished a mouthful of scrambled eggs and wiped his mouth off. He looked around to see that the boy was alone but didn't do much to address it in the moment.

"Hello," Luca started. "Yes, with my parents," he said, gesturing to the man and woman across the table from him, "and my nanny." He looked over to his left at Lilly for a moment before turning to the boy. "I got my Hogwarts letter just recently," Luca added proudly.

A wave of relief swept over Charles as the boy greeted him warmly. Having had a mention of receiving a Hogwarts letter made Luca beam with pride which awakened Charles's competitive nature. His academic excellence earned him his letter last week which provided him with a small dose of superiority.

"Wow, that is fantastic!" His tone was enthusiasm-laden as he uttered those words. "I got my Hogwarts letter last week. Since I got my letter, my enthusiasm over Hogwarts acceptance has been unrelenting. Our adventures in Hogwarts to come leave me yearning to begin immediately."

His eyes gleamed with excitement because he was in close proximity to Luca so that he could show his energy and maybe motivate Luca to reciprocate his enthusiasm.

His external enthusiasm covered a subliminal tension that brewed inside of him. He always felt he was being driven by his parents to do his best because their relentless demands fell heavily on his shoulders. Hogwarts provided him with something greater than a new beginning because it provided him with an opportunity to leave behind his rigorous advanced education.

"What Hogwarts house would you expect to be a member of?" His voice was forceful as he really wanted to hear his answer. "The house I would most want to be a member of without any doubt is Gryffindor. Adventure and courage are the foundation of my life."

His competitive nature emerged when he said "I've been training my knowledge of spells since the beginning because I want to lead my class rankings." Breaking boundaries is the core principle as per him. He displayed a broad smile to conceal the nervousness he felt at times regarding his extreme ambition.

Charles possessed a warm nature but wrestled with an inner urge to conquer all of life's challenges that exhausted him. Charles delighted in fleeting periods spent with friends and nature as he wished to form a permanent bond of friendship with Luca that would lead them on to future magical exploits. He accepted the excitement of new horizons at this point though his dreams continued to plague him.

"I know!" Luca exclaimed more excitedly than he intended, but that was okay. He was still a kid but about to enter a new world that would be all his own. Luca took a few moments to take another quick bite, which was the last of his scrambled eggs. He quickly swallowed and took a drink of water out of the glass he had been given by the waitress just a few minutes earlier before the boy's arrival. Everyone else had continued eating, but was paying attention to the conversation between Luca and the boy.

"I don't know. My father went to Ilvermorny, my mother was a Ravenclaw, and my nanny was a Hufflepuff," Luca said evenly as he looked between them. He took another drink of water before looking to his mother her added something into the conversation between her son and the boy. "The Sorting Hat knows what is best, but it will always take your wishes into consideration," Amelia said with her sweet voice between the boys.

"That's very impressive. You have some ambition. Perhaps the Sorting Hat will suggest Slytherin. What's your name, son?" Lorenzo spoke up after his brow was arched by the boy's ambition to be top of his glass. He flashed his son an impressed look as if to suggest this was someone that Luca might want to befriend, but the 11-year-old boy didn't pick up on the cue.

Charles, a little more comfortable with the ambience of Luca's family, found a chair and sat at the table. His bright blue eyes flickered occasionally. The buzz and commotion around him felt distant, only the exchange between him and a possibly new social companion was locked into focus. He leaned back slightly, crossing his arms, a subtle smirk played on his lips and he flexed his jaw.

"I am Charles Azure, part of the Azure family profoundly known in many parts of London due to their major contributions to society." the overwhelming pride struck him again, "from my point of view, I have considered ambition to be a double-edged sword - useful, but also perilous."

Charles settled his eyes on the boy again. His mention of his family's history caught Charles's attention. "Ilvermorny, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff?" he mused. "That is quite the lineage."

He leaned forward again, resting his elbows on the top of the table, his expression a mix of intrigue and challenge. "Looks like the only shoes left to be filled are in Gryffindor and Slytherin."

He took a sporadic pause and glanced at the boy's mother. "True it does take your wishes into account," he added in an earnest tone which is rarely expressed. "But it also looks for what you are capable of ... it is about who you are."

Charles remembered the advice from his parents who had long made a career and had attained respect from all members of society. "Hogwarts is not just about magic, it is about the choices which are made to shape who you become in the future."

Charles again reverted to the young boy, a puzzle wrapped in an entropy. "I am excited to see what pathways we diverge into from here- on."

He again instigated a well-timed pause, letting the words sink in.

"By the way may I know your name? I should have asked before... And since we are talking about Hogwarts what subjects are you interested in? I am thrilled with the perpetual journeys within Charms and the Dark Arts. " He addressed in a casual ordeal.

Luca watched his father, Lorenzo give Charles a curious look after inviting himself to sit down, but it didn't go much further than that. Lorenzo looked around for any sets of parents that appeared to be missing a child but found none. The boy's fathered nodded with a renewed sense of impressed at how well-spoken Charles was, but Luca noticed his father occasionally darting his eyes around the Leaky Cauldron. Where were this 11-year-old boy's parents?

"A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Charles," Amelia said from Lorenzo's right side. Her plate was now empty, and her coffee finished. "You're awfully well-spoken for such a young man."

"Mhm," Lorenzo nodded in agreement with the nanny nodding from Luca's left side. "Where are your parents, Charles?" Luca's father asked inquisitively. Leaky Cauldron was an adult pub and eatery, and Diagon Alley had places like Knockturn Alley and Bourgin and Burkes, which were potentially dangerous.

Everyone smiled when Charles complimented their family lineage. Amelia nodded and listened intently when Charles made some very insightful comments about the Sorting Hat, which he had likely only heard about from his parents up to this point in his life. When Charles turned and started speaking to Luca directly, he listened and nodded. He was definitely excited about what they could get into.

"I'm Luca," he said, introducing himself. "I am very excited about Defense Against the Dark Arts and Charms."

Charles noticed Luca’s family glance curiously around the Great Hall as they asked about his parents. Just then a swell of pride engulfed him at the chance to be talking a little about his family background.

He glanced out at the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron. 'Oh, my parents are just outside,' he said. "My mother Clara Azure is a well-known Potions Master. Her recent work has been on some groundbreaking elixirs. My father, Felix Azure, is also an encapsulating historian, he is into magical artifacts and their histories. Both of them have gained quite a name for themselves in the wizarding community."

Clara and Felix appeared at the Leaky Cauldron’s door as he spoke. The patrons turned their heads, nodding in respect of the famous couple who had taken the stage. Clara was dressed in robes with flowing hair, giving the impression of authority, and Felix bore a stack of books under his arm, lending him a look of wisdom as well.

As they approached the table Charles was seated at, he beamed with pride. "There they are!" he exclaimed, gesturing toward them. "They are highly respected here so for me the Cauldron is a pretty safe place."

Clara smiled at Charles and the rest of his parents reached the table. "Hello, everyone!" Clara said with a smooth, inviting tone. "I hope you are all enjoying your breakfast."

Felix nodded, adjusting his glasses. "I would hope you are talking about the promising things to come at Hogwarts?" His eyes sparkled with interest as he added.

He felt that he belonged as he brought Luca and his family to meet his parents. "His name is Luca, and this is his family." "It appears he enjoys the same subjects as me, hopefully, we will be going down the same path."

The Corranado family listened intently to Charles talk about his parents. Whether they were listening out of politeness or interest was not readily apparent, but they were listening. Luca's mother and father were very impressed with how well-spoken the boy was when talking about his parents. They nodded occasionally during the conversation to acknowledge that they were still actively listening but did not comment at all. At this point, all four of them had finished their meals, and a waitress came while Charles was speaking to take their empty plates.

Everyone's attention turned from Charles to Clara when she joined in on the conversation. They all offered a polite smile at her comment about them enjoying breakfast, with a sea of nods from everyone and comments about it being good. As Felix approached the table and made a comment to Charles, Lorenzo stood up and pushed his chair in. Once Charles had introduced Luca, Lorenzo held out a hand to Felix.

"Lorenzo Corranado, a pleasure. This is my wife, Amelia, my son, Luca, and our nanny, Lilliana. You have a very well-spoken, bright young boy. I believe he will do well at Hogwarts," Lorenzo said between Felix and Clara. Everyone else had taken the non-verbal cues from Lorenzo that they were about to head into Diagon Alley, so they slowly started getting up and pushing their chairs in.

"It was nice to meet you, Charles! I'll see you at school," Luca said after standing up and offering a handshake to the boy. After exchanging polite goodbyes between all parties, the Corranados approached the back of the Leaky Cauldron. Once they were there, Amelia pulled out her wand and tapped bricks in a specific order, which triggered the wall to reform into an archway into Diagon Alley. The magnificence of Diagon Alley immediately blew away Luca. He quietly stepped through with his family.
