L ouisa’s smile brightened as she watched the play, still amazed by the sheer beauty of the French school. The setting of Paris and love in the story forced a light blush to raise up the innocent first years face. She couldn’t help feel reminded of the Muggle story which was set in Italy, and had two lovers die, which her father had been quite the fan of. Looking around she saw that many others were interacting with others and she couldn’t help hope that she might find a friend for the event.
It was as the Hufflepuff wiped away a small tear of her face, that she noticed a boy begin to walk towards her. A mix of hope and nerves crossed through her and she smiled shyly at the boy. The darkly haired boy seemed to be slightly unused to being in a suit, Louisa couldn’t help observe. The girls smile widened as the boy addressed her.
“Oh, right, yeah!” Louisa stuttered nervously, half surprised. A moment paused and then feeling as though she should probably speak she asked, “So did you like the play?”
Louisa felt herself wince inwardly in annoyance at not being able to ask something better. What school do you come from? But that sounded as if she was biased towards schools. How old are you? Too personal. Do you like the food? Just as bad as what she had asked. What’s your name? Well, that would have been better. She smiled at the boy as she waited for his response, hoping he didn’t think she was as nervous or silly as she felt. In truth, the first year couldn’t help feel impressed that she was sitting next to… well, a boy!

The Arrival Tea Party
Interacting with: @Aamon Athanatos | @Harvey Barrows | @Linda Ramirez
Slightly mentioned: @Colin McCoire
Meyra gave Harvey a kind, closed-lipped smile and a nod as she heard him agree with her first impression about the French school of magic. It really was a very different place from what she was also used to. It was delicate, elegant and charming, compared to the imposing, elegant and medieval Hogwarts castle, it was a great contrast.
"I do love drawing..." She shyly interjected after hearing Harvey and Linda's exchange about art, "But the truth is, I used to spend a lot more time painting before Hogwarts. Now the school assignments and quidditch training take most of my free time." She shared with both of them, before turning to look directly at Harvey, "If you like it, I mean...if you like art or have any interest in it, I wouldn't mind to help you improve!" She kindly offered him.
Her attention was immediately diverted towards the other boy at their table though, when he also shared his opinion about Beauxbatons. "Excuse me?" Meyra had to ask Aamon after hearing a cascade of nonsense words coming out of his mouth. She generally doesn't like confrontations, keeping her own opinions to herself, but...but that had been too much, hadn't it? A daughter of a tea shop owner could not let that slander pass without a proper response! Though her tone was calm and polite, her disagreement could be well noticed, "Tea's can have healing properties did you know that? Not as strong as magic potions, obviously, but... even those use herbs that we can find in common teas." She paused to take a sip of her own warm, comforting drink, "And..." She stumbled over her own words, a little embarrassed at the very idea of it, "You're right, about the second part, we are twelve, thanks Merlin!" She muttered, suddenly reminded of all the expectations her family would soon place on her shoulders. She was definitely not eager to find out how that would be like...to have to face them, even more with her lycanthropy condition.
So as soon as the theater group finished its play, they all closely gathered to hear Aamon's plan for "fun". Even though Meyra was feeling skeptical about what was coming from him, she couldn't help but feel curious about his grand plan. "Psychological warfare?" She asked in a tone of faint disbelief, raising her eyebrows in a silent question.
"I'm sharing a cabin with Colin and Cursa McCoire...you know them? They will all believe it was them, not a ghost!" It was true, she had never met a couple of walking disasters like those two. The fact that the cabin was still standing after that entrance was a magical miracle. Truth be told... the likelihood of her returning and finding everything intact as it was when she left was far less than the probability of them finding a chicken loose in Beauxbatons. She couldn't agree more with what Harvey said, "Indeed." She told him with a short nod.
"N...no..." She answered then to Harvey's question about whether she had ever pranked anyone. It wasn't nice to have to admit that the idea hadn't even crossed her mind, apparently that was their description of fun, which meant she was risking being seen as the boring one at that table. Good job taking Harvey's place Mey!, "My step-cousin is a Gryffindor prefect and my dorm mate, not many open space to play pranks and survive detention." She said as an excuse, pretending to be very confident that this explanation would be sufficient to explain her lack of...fun young spirit. "But yes...I suppose I can try." She finished, drinking another sip from her tea and taking the moment to divert her eyes from them.
So it was with some relief that she saw someone else approaching, which caused a welcome pause in the conversation about the grand trickery masterplan. But the relief was short lived, as Quentin's arrival ended up resulting in Linda's leaving and Meyra was left alone with Harvey and Aamon.

The Arrival Tea Party
𝓒omforting someone else had never been Ruth's forte, and honestly probably would never be. To comfort one often consisted of some neck scratching, internal and physical squirming, the racking of the brains, wavering smiles, countless back pats and nervous jokes to cast a smile one one's face without the use of magic. And half the time her attempts never did work.
Yet, with Matthew, who hadn't been seeking for comfort in the first place, it all went seemingly natural for her. His laugh rang like chimes in the air, pleasant with the touch of mischief that merely signaled he was back to his usual self, albeit slightly disoriented. She smiled, satisfied to have brought Matthew some form of joy in the moment, then shifted her seat back to where it had been just as trumpets rang in the air, drawing her attention away from Jan's suspecting gaze to the front, where upon actors and actresses flooded the stage. Ruth hadn't taken much notice of the platform, having been distracted by the array of treats and people. She caught Matthew's eye as he mouthed thanks, and she could only merely nod before the act commenced. Now, she settled back, hands gently clasped and resting on her lap as she took in the play.
As the velvet curtains fell back into place and everyone resorted to chatting yet again, Ruth found herself frowning. She had mixed feeling about what she had just watched, confusion most of all. Why was it that the man, Antoine, had tried to win Clara over instead of all the women in Paris? What was the significance of the poisoned batch of brew? Why did he love Clara? Why did she confess to the man that she loved him too, in an attempt for a peaceful death? Did it meant that she was lying?
Befuddled, Ruth raised the tea cup to her lips, when her rumination was interrupted by Jan's unamused utterings of complaint and whining. Strangely, she found that annoying, even rude. Her frown deepened as she set the cup back down untouched. Unhesitatingly, she plucked a macaroon from her almost bare plate, examining it for a touch of a moment, before leaning forward and stuffing Jan with it mid-conversation. Ruth watched shock register over his face, those blue eyes of his settling on hers as any sign of disgust towards the play was replaced by begrudging chewing.
"Why don't you try some of the macaroons before they grow stale?" she told him sweetly, Cheshire cat grin growing wider as he narrowed his eyes at her all the while washing down the treat with tea. Ruth briefly turned away from him to wave goodbye at Matthew, exchanging a wink back. Whatever it was that he was up to probably meant mischief, though it seemed to now be a solitary job. For now. She would ask him later. "Don't worry Campbell, won't do anything without you!" it was an exaggeration, but it was enough.
Laughing as he made finger guns before departing, Ruth watched him leave, then shifted her gaze back to Jan. "You know it's not very nice to complain about the play," she began, handing him a napkin to wipe the crumbs away from the edges of his lips. "I'm sure they practiced all day long to produce such a result." Then, dropping her voice, she said, "Though, I have some questions about the plot..." the brew bothered Ruth. Why was it that it was a majority of the play when in the end its results weren't shown?

Snackies with Casey Stone (my own iNPC)
Had Casey not arrived back at the table and shielding her vision, Emily would've taken the chance of bolting out of the room. It may not have looked classy or dignified but she would still embrace the choice enthusiastically if it meant not being in the same room as Gideon. Worst case scenario, he was looking to spy on her for more tricks and curses to ensnare her with. He already seemed so bloody pleased with himself over the whole Blood Tree kerfuffle. Every time Emily thought back to that, it made her feel sick. She even panicked when Casey nearly addressed his presence to the rest of the room.
"Keep your voice down...!" she hissed to him, making worried gestures with her hands.
With his cold, demanding eyes, Casey grabbed her attention. She listened to what he said. He made a very good argument. Getting upset and fretting over what's been and gone wouldn't make the problem go away any quicker. Emily sighed in defeat before nibbling at the chocolate bun Casey passed to her.
Thoughts of Gideon and that night gnawed and chewed at her mind. His smile and the decrepit tree made her narrow her eyes. Her nibbles got bigger. More thoughts on Gideon's face and the tree's vines that tried to nab her when she got close. Her nibbles evolved into mouthfuls. Thoughts on Gideon's saccharine tone and shady words, the tree's twisted glee after having consumed that single drop of blood Emily had unwittingly offered it. The Huffie was now ripping into her bun and eating it like a wolf.
"You're right-- I'm not gonna-- Let some stupid nightmare-- and some rotten boy-- Spoil my time here!" Emily said as she tore the chocolate bun to pieces, every few words punctuated by a tasty rip into the pastry. The corners of her mouth were stained with cream.
Casey looked at her with raised eyebrows. Emily ignored him as she finished off the bun before gulping down her juice in one fluid motion. She cleared her throat like she had just eaten a greasy meal. She watched Casey move his snacks closer to him. Maybe for the best given the food rampage Emily was on at the minute.

Pam didn't exactly understand what all had transpired between Avis and Sabrina. However, she did catch a word "Abraxans" in the conversation, and after the two girls had left, she turned to the others, intent on asking them the meaning of the word. So she waited for a while until the two had definitely left, and then asked, "Do you guys know what are Abraxans?"
Pam tilted her head towards where the play was being held. To be honest, she wasn't really interested in it, but it did seem to have some good music. It wasn't very loud either. In the background, and could be totally ignored if wanted. She watched curiously for a while, grabbing some more chocolates off the counter, before someone else caught her attention.
A brown haired girl came up, calling out to Avery as she joined them. Pam eyed the girl curiously, wondering if she had ever met her before and whether she was from Hogwarts at all. As the girl introduced herself as Lyanna Oak with an outpour of extroversion (was that a word?), Pam flashed the girl a smile, hoping it did not look like a grimace, before saying, "Um...hello, my name is Pamela Graham."

𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐞: February 12th 2025Tone's expression brightened further at Tracey's words. "You like baking too? That's awesome! I totally agree with you on cooking. I just never really have that much fun doing it, unless it's related to baking a little. Like sauces." He said with a little nod and flashed a smile at Tracey when she asked to try one of his brownie truffles. "Of course! Please, take as many as you want, that's what they are there for!" Tone said and chuckled when Tracey told him about Mateo having to throw one for Yuma later. "Mm. I helped him with that one too." He tilted his head to the side when Tracey said she was in one of the Underwater Paradise cabins. "Oh really? I'm in the Beach Getaway one. How is the Underwater one? I wish we could visit eachother's cabins." Tone said wistfully with a heavy sigh.
He'd wanted to take a look at all of them. Tone nodded as Maria spoke of her preference for Chinese or Japanese tea more than French tea. "True. All tea flavors are different depending on where they are from." He agreed with her and was happy to see Maria being able to talk with others. Sometimes Tone knew it was hard for her to open up to new people. But at least she was being talkative a little! She became engrossed in the play, although Tone wasn't really that into it as he wanted to make sure he didn't miss anything around him. Such as other people he could run into and talk to and hopefully make friends with them! Since many of them were watching the show, they were all relatively quiet and standing in one place. So it was now easier for Tone to look around at everyone, which he indulged in, taking full advantage of this.

· · ─▪──────────── · · ─────────────▪─ · ·
It was during this time that he heard a familiar voice nearby him, call out his birth name. Ever since he decision to go by the name his fans called him, almost no one called him that anymore. Except for Yami and sometimes Akira and Dan. Sara was one of the few old friends Tone had who made the effort to call him by his preferred name now and for that he appreciated him. But the owner of the voice had used his birth name which meant it had to be one of the aforementioned three. The tone of voice was soft though and sounded like Yami but at the same time didn't because Yami didn't tend to speak to him in such a manner lately. But Dan hadn't come and the voice didn't sound like Sara's... so it had to be Yami, right? Tone turned his head to see a familiar face. Yes, his impression was right, it was Yami. But there was something different about him.
The young man's typical fake smile wasn't present on his lips for once. Tone regarded him for a moment, his eyes flickering over his face for several seconds. As Ginyami leaned down to whisper into his ear, Tone nodded. "Mm. Of course I have time for you! I always have time for you." He told him and raised his voice to flash a smile at those at the table. "I'll be back in a little bit. Enjoy your time!" Tone told them and then got up to follow Yami to wherever the latter wanted to go. Once they'd reached that area, Tone tilted his head to the side, gazing into his eyes. "What's wrong? You know you're special to me and always will be. We're more alike than anyone else, it's part of what makes us feel so close. I'm sorry about neglecting you in the past." Tone apologized, hoping this time Yami would accept it.
"But know that it wasn't just you, it was everyone... I tried to do something and failed and everything just fell apart on me. I shouldn't have ignored everyone during that time period and for that I take full responsibility. I only hope I can do something to make it up to you and Akira especially. Please feel free to ask me to do anything for you and I will do my best to make you happy! But regardless of this, I'll always be there for you whenever you need me." Tone said, letting a hand descend to rest lightly upon Ginyami's shoulder. "What did you want to ask me? Can I help you with something?" He asked, waiting for Yami to open up to him. Maybe today would be the day the two of them would finally be able to make amends with eachother. He could only hope.

Madeleines are such delightful pastry to eat that Aurelia forgot the inconsistencies of the said romantic—in her very honest opinion, supposedly—play she unforgivably criticised and disparaged moments ago. It is typical of her, to perceive everything behind the eye of the critique, as though she already is a licensed professional. One should know, of course, that the play is only there to entertain the guests while they enjoy expensive French pastries that are perhaps baked by house-elves hired by the infamous Beauxbâtons Academy, and of course, tea—imported or not, it does not matter. The said French wizarding school invited all students studying magic all over the world for Valentine's Day, which the young badger concluded only as a sort of front, the only agenda they perhaps have is to flaunt the entirety and extravagance of the French culture. Which worked in everyone's favour, naturally, as everyone, who attended the ball in equally excessive dresses and wizarding robes, aspire one thing, and that is to max out the hospitality and courtesy Beauxbâtons Academy graciously offered. Such a cynic. Everything looks scrumptious, even down to the savoury sandwiches that she almost took home a plateful as her enchanted leather satchel could surely fit the said food. However, that would appear impolite and gluttonous, the young badger could inhale them all before Mamori Anezaki could be permitted to leave the arrival tea party. Stream of colourful dresses went past their table, which reminded her heavily of kaleidoscopic colours dancing in the upper floors' corridors and the Great and Small Hall in a sunny day, the sunlight reflected by large, arched and long windows and quite stained with different and distorted colours, similar to cathedrals she had gone to with her mother. Nonetheless, the kaleidoscopic colours created by these stained windows are prettier than frilly dresses and speaking of one, Aurelia vehemently wished she could be out of hers, go back to their designated cabin and sport her comfortable sweaters and jeans. Mamori Anezaki, with his beautiful pink hair which Aurelia always realise that the colour resembled candy floss that are sold in the bazaars of London, is a nice companion, she figured. Aware of the fact that it is not like him at all to be somewhat quiet. She is also aware that they had nothing in common except that they are both sorted in the house of Hufflepuff; people might perceive that in just this similarity, it would make the entirety of the house bonds and get along really well. This is not the case, and it heavily depends on the situation the world will offer to them; that is disillusionment and the world is not separated just into two different sector or categories. For her and her eye of skilful detection, the pink-haired badger is terrible at internalising his thoughts, and it rather reflected on his expressions. Popping one éclair in her mouth, she watched as he put down his own, his expression empty, with a hint of impatience decorating his face. It automatically shuts her mouth right up, as though an invisible zip was harshly pulled close. She slouched in her seat before she reached for her cup of tea, her hands shook in the process. The feeling of being unwanted; it made her regress back to the broken psyche of a 10-year-old, or perhaps when she was 6 years old. It is such an overreaction, she thought, before clearing her throat and straightening her back once again, as though catching herself lacking. This arrival tea party is not that entertaining in the slightest and additionally, she knows little of people here, her inefficiency in socialisation will save her from appearing normal to her peers, as treading on eggshells in order to prevent creating a mistake is only and eventually bound to create one, naturally. With her tongue rolling against the inside of her cheeks, an indication of her indecision, her deep brown eyes glared at the chandeliers dangling from the high ceiling. Assessing her options in every wick of the floating candles, envisioning her pros and cons list, she decided that she should go back to their cabin and start writing that comparative essay she is so eager to write. As if on cue, before she could ever open her mouth to say they perhaps should go leave the ongoing party, Mamori suddenly broke the silence that passed by their table. He stated that he felt dizzy, an after-effects of the unlabelled potions he foolishly consumed. Her deep brown eyes slightly widened when he let out a series of suppressed coughs. The young badger did not doubt the rather terrible acting he was attempting to execute; her soul immediately transcending towards the day he suddenly fell and convulsed in front of her. A traumatising event that did make her endure sleepless nights, his face covered in inky vomit reoccurring in her mind, real-time, as though it was happening again even if her eyes are closed tightly. Aurelia only assessed his bright, emerald eyes, the vision shifting when it looked dimmed and empty. Gulping audibly, she looked at their table whilst she tucked the rebellious curls behind her ears. I better write to Mum. Internalising it does not work. "I..." she let out an exhausted breath as soon as her voice wavered before continuing, "I'm sorry. It's my fault—I dragged you here, although I knew that you were just discharged; you clearly should rest," her face is contorted into evident regret. Mamori's desire to tag along in the Beauxbâtons trip was almost never permitted, as he should be in bed rest for a couple of days, even weeks after he awoke from his former vegetative state. Finishing her Earl Grey tea down immediately and taking a plate of savoury finger sandwiches, Aurelia immediately stood up from her seat, her gloved hands smoothing her dress down. This green dress is rented, this should be given back in perfect condition. "Perhaps we should head back? I'm so sorry again, if you want me to walk you to the nearest Hospital Wing, I would. If not, I will go straight to our cabin." |

The Arrival Tea Party

Célestine looked around to see some Beauxbatons students among others and smiled. It was great to find them here. The first ever international event was going better than she hoped. After thinking a little bit more about the play, she decided to make her way to Aiko. These were the thoughts she had earlier, and now she had time to do it. On her way to the gardens, Célestine passed by Aulis and Emery, saying hi to them both. She wondered what Emery had planned else and was interested to know Aulis more. But first, she was going to talk to Aiko.
The headmistress of the Japanese school went somewhere in the direction of the gardens, and so Célestine made her way there. Walking for some time before finding the woman, she approached with a warm smile. Welcome to Beauxbatons. I'm glad to see you here. How do you find it so far?
She paused before continuing to speak. Do you mind me sitting with you? A question came out as soft. Célestine didn't want to bother Aiko if the woman didn't want her company. Do you like the gardens? Célestine looked around for a moment after speaking. The place was looking great, and she took a moment to appreciate how great it felt to sit here.
For a moment she wondered if other schools had something like this place. She supposed that each of them could have something unique. Do you have gardens too?

AULIS VOROZHEYKIN.
KOLDOVSTORETZ. DIRECTOR OF STUDIES.
Russian. | English.
Spoken. | Thought.
Despite Aulis's attempts to avoid the head of Durmstrang, it seemed that fate - or Emery - had a different idea, as before the newer Koldovstoretz director could so much as finish his sip of kompot the blond man appeared before him offering company and libations. Aulis immediately plastered an equally charming smile upon his face, matching Emery's in careful politics and manufactured emotion, and eyed the goblet in his equal's hand for a cautious moment before reaching forward and taking it. After all, even if Koldovstoretz students were not yet in attendance, there did seem to be some from Durmstrang, and the image of their beloved head waiting hand and foot upon him was definitely a boost in reputation that his school could use. He raised the goblet to his lips, taking what may have appeared to be a sip, but was actually a practiced pretense, as no liquid passed his tightly sealed mouth - after all, one could never be too careful with those from Durmstrang about.
Lowering the goblet, Aulis gave Emery another skillful smile. "Thank you, Headmaster Albrecht," he replied most vigilantly, sticking to not only a more formal way of addressing his fellow but also the standard of Russian as the other director had set. It was truly a blessing to not have to revert to English in inter-academy settings such as this; a pity, really, that more of the international schools did not utilize spoken Russian or even the Cyrillic alphabet, as lovely and widespread as they were. He eyed the Durmstrang equivalent of himself up and down, not so much gaining a first impression - he had already done that with his files full of data and information on each of the international heads, which had been locked away in his cabin now after having memorised as much of each as possible - as he was more so judging his clothing, which seemed to be about as old as Durmstrang itself. Despite being one of the younger international heads, Emery Albrecht's fashion sense seemed to be stuck centuries in the past, though he did cut an interesting and somewhat imposing silhouette; Aulis was not sure whether to feel underdressed or stylish beside him. Perhaps that outdated sense of style had come from the other man's intriguing, if hole-filled, past in academia and politics - only some of which Aulis had managed to collect in his research of Emery and the remainder of the foreign heads. It seemed that Durmstrang's leader was as secretive as Aulis himself.
Knowing that each word in this conversation was similar to taking steps in a field of land mines, Aulis tilted his head to listen as the German waxed poetic about the locations of their schools and then, as if attacking him with a low blow following a friendly banter, a duel in plain sight with words instead of wands. Immediately, he tensed; the new Head had not expected any questions about Korotkin so soon out of the gate. Even Aulis still didn't know exactly why his predecessor had left, only that he had, opening up a position for the false prophet to step in - a promotion, of course, that had taken quite a bit of information-gathering and very specific using of said data to obtain. That, however, was something that would be locked in Aulis's own file, too deep for anyone to find it. Instead, he offered a placid smile, both to Emery and to @Célestine de la Croix-Valmer as she passed by with a hello, feeling very much as if his cheeks were going to be hurting by the end of the day if he kept having to use grins as his foremost tool. "Ah, it was but tenure, my friend," he said in his most normal, grandiose voice, as if everything was a prophecy even when speaking his daily discourse, reaching out to give the Durmstrang man a friendly clap on the shoulder. "I may appear to be quite young, but eternities rest within my mind, they say. Tell me," taking a sip from the goblet in his hand, "how many of the children did you bring with you, comrade? Was it many, seeing as how your school boasts so many in its populace?"
It was only then, as the firewhisky burned on its journey down his throat, that Aulis realised he had unwittingly drunk from the cup of danger: the goblet Emery had given him. Still, he managed to plaster a peaceful look upon his face instead of the nerves that had begun to course through his body. Putting on a show of inter-academy peace was very different from actually trusting the other director, but for now it seemed as if he had no choice but to do so.
