The Arrival Tea Party

Winnie had been so caught up in forcing herself to act 'normal' that she had completely missed the cute brunette Bubba was sitting with. Light blue eyes flickered across the table to look at the girl he addressed as Siobhan. Not only did she have an Irish name, but she was dressed in a lovely yellow and green dress with the most interesting sunhat Winnie had ever seen; the bright pink caught her eye first but she could have sworn she had heard the flowers adorning it honking.
It was adorable, she was adorable, like a protagonist in a romance novel. She wondered if Bubba might have been dating this sweet ray of sunshin—
Oh shit, she swore internally. Was she interrupting a tender moment between the two? Bubba had not mentioned a girlfriend and after her confusion at the hospital it seemed like something worth mentioning. Maybe this was a first date?
A hand squeeze from Mathias quickly grounded her.
'Mind?' Her fiancé echoed her, 'Of course she doesn’t mind. Isn’t that right, Siobhan?'
"Wait, do you know her too?" Winnie asked the Slytherin, blinking in confusion. She really hoped this was not another friendship she had forgotten, but Bubba introduced her, making her feel a bit more at ease.
Tucking a long strand of copper hair away from her face, Winnie offered their tablemate a smile, "Hello, nice to meet you, I really like your hat! Are those honking daffodils?"
Casting her strawberry scented hair over her shoulder to avoid sitting on it, she lowered herself into her seat. Mathias' posture was deliberate, but that didn't mean Winnie didn't enjoy how close he was. She played along, leaning into his touch, her knee brushing against his beneath the table as her hand slid over to capture one of those anxious hands. "Thank you, Mattie." She whispered, leaning in to peck his lips.
She wasn't sure if the way she squeezed his hand was more for him or her as her eyes scanned over the heads of the other students attending the tea party. Gideon had to be here, she just didn't know where. Maybe he was busy poisoning the food.

Speech -- Thoughts
Pam was in awe.
The place had been decorated in a way that it was fit for royalty. She smiled, glancing around at the multitude of colours which were other students, and her attention of course was finally snatched by the food assortment laid out. Oooh chocolates.
She turned to Ira, suddenly remembering that the two had come together and she couldn't skip off as she had intended three seconds ago, "What do you want to do?" She asked her. Motioning to the display of the brown sweets, she muttered, "Let's go grab some first though." Then, lowering her voice she added, "I would say we could separate out of you wanted, but I'm too scared of getting lost in the crowd."
She made her way over to the table, her eyes practically shining at the sight of all the chocolates meant to be eaten. There were so many that she didn't know off, and she grabbed a star shaped one, popping it into her mouth. Woah. Yummy. She glanced over to two other people at the table too, eyes widening as she recognised one of the girls. Avery Grey, her fellow winter lover, was also helping herself to the chocolates, and Pam called out a greeting to the girl. "Avery! Hello!" Then noticing the boy next to her, she realised that she might have just rudely stepped into a conversation. So she flashed the boy a smile, and said, "Hello! I hope I didn't interrupt anything. Can I join you guys?"

✽Avery turned around when she heard the boy's voice. Did he just say his name was Mateo? Avery thought to herself. Mateo, Tracey's friend, did say he was coming to Beauxbatons for the party, but she didn't expect to see him here. Well, maybe it was just someone else named Mateo. When she looked at him, she knew it was the Mateo she had been talking to. She was excited to finally talk to him in person, but also nervous.
"Wait. Did you say your name was Mateo? I'm Avery. By any chance are you friends with Tracey too?" Avery asked. Hoping that she wasn't being too awkward. She just wanted to make sure that she wasn't getting him mixed up with someone else.
That's when she heard a familiar voice tell her hello. She turned around again and was surprised to find Pam. The girl that also loved winter. Just like her. Avery was surprised. She hadn't realized that so many people she knew were actually going to the tea party today.
"Hi Pam! Good to see you! How have you been?" Avery asked.
She smiled at Mateo and Pam. Both of them seemed as excited as she was to be there. Avery knew now how beautiful Beauxbatons really was. That made Avery wonder what the other schools were like. Especially the schools she knew existed, but had never heard of! ✽

Did Mateo have any thought that the girl he was talking to is the same girl he was owling? No, he didn't, well, not until he heard her say her own name. And then it kicked. He had literally just found the girl whom Tracey had told to owl him about Quidditch! This is totally fate! Mateo smiled at her before saying,
"Yes, I did say my name is Mateo. Mateo Yamamoto. I'm Trace's best friend. No one can beat me! Nice to finally meet you, Avery,"
Obviously he would have run into her at some point, she did say she'll be at this school just for the week, and if they hadn't ran into each other, then he would've met her at Hogwarts, but it's nice to finally be able to meet her.
Hearing the voice of another girl, Mateo looked and saw another girl had joined them. Turns out she and Avery knew each other. Hearing the girl ask if she had interrupted something, Mateo shook his head before he said,
"No, your not interrupting anything. I'm Mateo, Mateo Yamamoto. Pleasure to meet you both,"
Mateo sent them both a smile, and with his free hand, he also offered a hand shake to both of them, and if they wanted to shake his hand, they could.

⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆ "Love planted a rose and the world turned sweet"⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆Abilities: Healing Sage & CharmerSiobhan watched as Bubba pulled his wand out and fixed the smallest of cracks that were left on her teacup. Strange... She had looked it over and saw nothing but lately, her eyes were hurting, and staring at intricate details had been bothering them. Maybe she had missed it but either way, she was very grateful for his help. As he talked, she heard him refer to the superhero Spiderman before he stopped himself and changed it. She let out a soft laugh.
"If that was a Spiderman reference I think I would have understood. If the baseball reference wasn't clear enough... I am muggle-born and he's one of my favorite Marvel & DC characters. If it's not too forward, you look very much like Peter-" Siobhan smiled with a swift air of charming whimsy as she looked at another treat that just looked scrumptious. She took a bite of it- not exactly sure whatever it was that she had just eaten. Needless to say, it was delicious. She listened intently as he explained the conundrum about his year in school. She was pleasantly surprised by the knowledge that Hogwarts students could attend schooling at other Magical schools across the world.
When the next voice broke through their conversation politely, Siobhan noticed it was the beautiful girl who had approached them.
Oh wow- So many things were happening and so many things were being said. But Siobhan was starstruck for a separate reason. The gorgeous girl had spoken to her and Siobhan felt her face break into a heavier blush once again as she complimented her hat and the daffodils. She was so excited that A: Someone else was dressed up and B: That she could talk to someone about her flowers. She never got to talk to anyone about her plants (other than Astra who had the innate inability to keep anything alive) and she was eagerly planning how to talk to her without stuttering and embarrassing herself once again.
However while Winnie, the pink one of the two dressed up and brought a sense of a light aura Siobhan couldn't help but be eerily agitated by the boy who accompanied her. Something about him radiated awefulness and Siobhan squirmed under his gaze. Was Winnie aware? Did she perhaps think that he was just putting on a front? When he had answered for her she looked at him but quickly adverted her eyes when his steely gaze penetrated her own, shrinking the courage that had built up in her mind.
Would it even be appropriate to comment on the encounter? No. No. Stay away from that topic. She couldn't open her big fat mouth and ruin the tea party. She wished he would go away but that Winnie would stay. She looked towards Bubba who also had an air of avoidance preference for this other student.
So instead she turned fully to Winnie and excitedly took her hat off so that she could explain the intricate detailing of her hat.
"Oh yes. They are Honking Daffodils- you have such a keen eye. I harvested them during my first ball last year... The Fall Ball when the event planners had us searching through the bushes. I couldn't help it- they're so- so- dall gleoite! Of course with the colors- I wanted to make sure I balanced out the colors so I..." Siobhan continued with a lovely smile as she explained all her flowers, their meanings, and their significance to her. Her Irish dialect broke through by accident but she tried to push past it.
When she finished, she realized she'd rambled on for quite too much time and everyone was looking at her. She placed the hat back on her head and covered her face with her teacup, pretending to be thirsty. The tea burned as it went down her throat but she pretended it didn't hurt. Speaking of hurt, it was starting to itch but she thought nothing of it. She rubbed her throat and cleared her throat to try and rid herself of the itch. As the others talked and the sound of a kiss occurred, she turned away to cough as the itch grew in her throat and spread to her tongue.
When her eyes started to water, she realized what was happening. Whatever she had just eaten must have contained peanuts as she was entering an allergy attack. What a wonderfully mild inconvenience.
Thankfully- It wasn’t too severe, just an uncomfortable feeling. She took the time to refill her teacup with some of the black tea provided. While it wasn’t her favorite, it did hold a certain proven natural anti-histamine called Quercetin inside the black tea leaves which would help mitigate the itchiness of her throat and eyes. The sneezing however… well she would need to suffer through that.
She wondered to herself where she had left her epi-pen as the other three of her table mates talked amongst themselves.Action: Talking to Winnie and beginning to enter a mild Allergy attack

Frankly speaking, the main purpose Elisa came here for was to visit Beauxbatons - she had heard about its splendor and had wanted to witness its beauty with her own eyes.
In fact, the first thing she saw upon arriving was the magnificent French gardens surround the castle. Bushes and trees were well tamed and the grass was green and soft - a big contrast with Hogwarts' wild grounds.
Hearing about an arrival tea party, she followed a few students through the long halls into the dinning chamber, thankfully without getting lost. In fact, the tables were laid full with pastries, cake and tea. Though slightly nervous facing the crowds of unknown faces, Elisa still managed to squeeze through to get her hands on a macaron - a delightful sweet she had had the chance to taste once in England.
After having been stepped on twice and pushed thrice, she resolved to stay in a corner, where there was more space to breathe. Scanning her eyes through the crowd and not finding anyone she had particular interest to hang out with, she took out a book from her satchel and began reading in the midst of the party, thus ignoring the rest of the world as she plunged into the pages.⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤

xxxxxxxx Upon seeing the marvels displayed at the outside of the castle, Elena couldn't shake the feeling that inside would only be as breathtaking as what they've already seen. And she was right. The space had been transformed into a dream spun from sugar and melody, a wonderland bathed in candlelight and the rich scent of steeping tea. Table stretched before her, each adorned by confections almost too beautiful to eat - macarons soft as clouds, heart shaped muffins blushing under candlelight, golden biscuits stacked like treasures. Crystal pitchers held limonade and teas that shimmered in the soft winter light, their sugary fragrance intertwining with the dreamy atmosphere. Music drifted across the room, violins weaving French or German harmonies into the air. The young girl recognised a tune, and as she stepped further within the room she found herself humming along.
She let the melody carry her forward, her fingers grazing the nearest wall, as if to ground herself in reality. The air felt thick, not only with the scent of sugar and citrus but with an unspoken warmth, heavier with each step that drew her closer to the crowd. It was strange, stepping right through this space of laughter and chatter when she so often lingered at the edges. A laugh rang by, loud and effortless. Her shoulders tended slightly. The room was filled with strangers, faces she didn't know, voices blending together, coming from everywhere at once. It wasn't fear, not exactly - more the quiet weight of wondering where she fit in all.
A sudden weight on her shoulders brought her back to reality, a light and comfortable touch that brought an unexpected warmth. The next few words that came out of her friend's mouth got blurred together as Elena blinked, the haze of uncertainty thinning as the moment sank in. The din of the voices, the grandeur of the room, the weight of her thoughts - it all softened. Turning her head towards the source of this welcomed comfort, she met two chocolate eyes and a mischievous smile, a sight that only made her smile back. "You look lovely as well," she replied with a smile, her voice quieter than she intended but the sincerity transcended everything.
The bright smile her friend shot her only further convinced the young raven to face whatever anxiety lingered still within her bones, and she found herself dragged in the midst of an elegant chaos. "What do you think we should try first ?" she wondered out loud, gaze wandering across the various delicacies displayed on the tables. Her navy eyes lingered on the teapot, a light frown wrinkling her porcelain face. "I'm quite scared to try the tea, actually. Do you think the French knows how to mak- Alyss ?"
Before she could finish, she felt a light tug on her sleeve, and the world blurred. She barely had time to register the amused flint in her friend's eyes before she was being dragged across the room, their footsteps weaving between students, skirts brushing against chairs, the scent of vanilla and citrus whirling around them. Laughter threatened to tear her throat as she struggled to keep her pace.
When Alyss finally slowed down, they were standing at the very edges of the room. Slightly apart from the bubbling center of the party, tucked near a grand window where the music softened and actually allowed them to have a conversation, was a boy. Elena tilted her head, recognising something familiar in his attitude - just outside the center, present but not quite a part of it. It wasn't avoidance, but rather an attempt to exist without being swallowed whole. His brown-blonde hair caught the candlelight in soft, warm streaks, carefully tousled as if he had run a hand through them too many times. Eyes resembled her, as deep as the midnight sky, yet he carried himself with an elegance the young girl could never match, a princely attitude that seemed to attract attention without trying.
Ignoring the flutter within her chest when Alyss introduced her as her best friend, she lightly lowered her head. It wasn’t quite a bow, not as formal as that, but it was enough—a greeting she had perfected over the years, elegant without being overly showy. "Delighted to make your acquaintance," she smiled back. Being social this early in the evening was not on her list, but if it pleased her friend then the effort would cost her nothing. As she spoke, her attention shifted. The fragrances of steeping tea were growing stronger, and her gaze fell on the fuming cup they both held. Somehow Alyss had time to grab a cup of tea as she mercilessly dragged her through the crowd. A light smile tugged at her lips as she turned back to Saunders, her curiosity piqued. "Is it any good ?" She asked, her tone light but sincere. "I was frightened the French's way of making tea ruin the ethereal dream this evening seems to be."

A smile wandered over Louisa McStately’s soft pink lips and her eyes widened as she took in the stunning beauty of Beauxbatons. The setting not only had perfect and adorably decorated gardens that brightly gave Valentines Week a very red and love hearty feel, but was such a contrast to Hogwarts that the small girl wanted to take a very slow, observant stroll.
While the outside was certainly nothing short of gorgeous, it was the inside of the snow colored building that caused the sweet first year’s mouth to water. Not only did the food look delicious, but something about the environment made Louisa feel as though as though a curtsy and croissant was needed. The room was relatively full and many of the people Louisa was quite sure she had never seen before, although her memory certainly wasn’t perfect.
As the nervous first year, quietly made her way to a table that was uninhabited and took her seat in a neat and shy manner. In truth, Louisa was surprised that so many people had come, and she couldn’t help wondering if romance was the reason of why they were here. The actual reasoning for Louisa’s trip to Beauxbatons had, in all truth, very little to do with Valentines Celebrations but more an interest in the French culture and meeting people from other schools, although the idea of meeting a young boy did take her appeal.
Trying to make herself look as polite as possible, the young Hogwarts student poured herself a small cup of tea with care, brushed down her light blue dress and flicked her prettily curled brown hair back. Taking a pink macaroon off a tray, she began to carefully eat, trying not to spill a single crumb. It didn’t take very long for the small girl to find herself the eater of a two macaroons, a few pastries, a muffin that took the shape of a heart and a small cup of tea. Brushing her mouth, she sat back a little straighter and listened carefully to the lovely music in the background. The first year felt herself hoping that someone might join her at her lonely table and share some of the marvelous food.
Louisa had spend far longer then usual preparing herself for today, and couldn’t help admit that she looked lovely, so if anyone was to look at the young student, they would see a relatively small girl in a pretty, mid length silky blue dress, a small white cardigan covering over the top, white shoes with a small heel that allowed Louisa to walk comfortably, and a white headband holding back her brown hair which had been, with great effort, curled and flattened and her small hands clutching a small white bag that matched her outfit perfectly. Her eyes were skimming the room and her face couldn’t help but show its small smile.

The Arrival Tea Party
Astra's full intent on this trip was, in short, to not die. Simple, easy. Not dying was easier when you weren't seen, and when you stayed away from big crowds and lots of people. She felt bad basically turning Siobhan down like that, but it was true she didn't have anything fancier than a cream sweater and black cargo pants, and, well, even the thought of an event made her mouth go dry and her palms all sweaty and her already accelerated heartbeat twice as fast.
So she stood outside the cabin, leaning against the wall, honking daffodil twirling round and round in her fingers even after Siobhan had long since departed. A sigh. The snakelet tucked the flower behind her ear as she reentered the cabin.
"I'm going for a walk!" she called to anyone who was there and listening, picking over to her bed. She'd just grab her wand and see what Hermes was up to before-
Was that Siobhan's EpiPen on her bed? Her fingers skated over her wand as she moved to her friend's bed. That was, in fact, Siobhan's EpiPen on her bed. Astra grabbed the medicine, almost tripping over herself as she ran out of the cabin.
Siobhan's peanut allergy was no joke, and who knew what the French put in their food? With the pen clutched tightly in hand, she ran towards the main campus of Beauxbâtons.
She spotted her, the honking daffodils marking her as Siobhan. She looked a little red. Astra vaulted over the table in her way, yelling sorry to the party sitting there. "Siobhan! I have your EpiPen!" The viper came to a screeching halt, slamming the medicine in front of Siobhan on the table, leaning forward to attempt to catch her breath. She was comically underdressed in her hoodie and sweatpants, and the flush of exertion mingled with embarrassment as she realized just how many had been witness to her mad scramble.
