If this cabin theme was chosen, people would instead find themselves hearing the gentle rolls of waves and the winds calmly blowing on a summer beach day.
If they looked outside their own floor to ceiling window, they would see a clear coast of beach with a blue sky and white clouds.
There would be palm trees with coconuts and if the inhabitants of the cabin looked very carefully, they would see many coastline creatures such as crabs, seagulls, and more. This beach would be based on the Caribbean side of South America. The sun would set and cause a golden haze through the clear windows creating a calming atmosphere that would be perfect to take a nap.
The bedroom would have a sliding window of its own, although for all intents and purposes one could not actually step outside into the beach, though it would look very realistic. A view of a grove of palm trees would be visible and a thatch roof cottage would be to the side to create a sense of realism. The curtains would be long and flowy, cream coloured, and could be used to cover the windows if the inhabitants wanted to go to sleep early or take a nap. The floors would be wooden, a light tan colour.
The view of the beach would be visible from every bed, although from different angles. If they looked up, they would see a rustic beamed ceiling, reminiscent of a wooden cabin. In the living room area, there would be small potted palm trees and ferns, native to the beach, and people could find seating in two white couches with turquoise pillows and blankets. There would be a large dining table for students to study and hang out but also a round coffee table to be used as well.
It would be a truly clean and modern living room the inhabitants would spend their time in. And like the previous theme, if students and others found themselves bored, there would be a bookcase filled with as one can guess, books of any kind. Like the previous cabin, this cabin would also have candles for light but in the shape of a palm tree.

Pink stink. That was the essential vibe that this particular beach cabin was giving off. Evidently someone, most likely a muggleborn or a half-blood with access to the technology at some point in their lives, had found themselves inspired by a particularly famous fashion doll that was first introduced in 1959 and then exploded into popularity in the 90s and then again especially after a high-grossing movie in 2023 in the infamous "Barbieheimer" phenomenon. Every lacquer or colored area that the eye beheld was a bright, bombastic barbie pink, almost plastic in its vibrancy and sheen. Stark white complemented the strong tones of the rose raid, cut in and out with interspersed humble beiges and creams that if they could find themselves capable of sentient expression would likely be sobbing at the nature of their place of residence.
Everything inside seemed to be particularly amplified in its "modernism" as if one were living in an oversized dollhouse--extra large pink chairs of several varieties ranging from rocking to sofa, a huge table that was an island in comparison to the independent kitchen area in pink-white tiles that was obviously magical in nature, and a set of eight beds that were plush and high-captain in arrangement with pink-knobbed drawers just waiting for the hapless child victims to store their clothes in. This was across from a [nonfunctioning, sadly in the case of the inhabitant's poor retinas, though likely fortunate for the cabin itself] fireplace, whose mantlepiece bore several silly knickknacks that looked the most 'normal' for a cabin considering the rest of the environment, to include a tasteful bronze rearing horse and rider statue.
Pictures of... creative... abstract art in warm hues and with indecipherable lines that ensured that nobody could guess what the original intent of the image was supposed to be--likely French in make, if one could be fair--cluttered the walls, flaunting impressionist "sunsets"? Animals? Humans? Well, one could make educated guesses anyhow. Plush carpets in the living and the sitting room had thick faux fur could trip person with its intense thread-count, the curtains were ring-patterned complete with hot pink plastic curtain rings. In the studying area there were eight enormous fuchsia pink beanbags that could swallow even a part-giant alive in their unforgiving polystyrene bean barbarians. Everything here simply screamed: I'M A BARBIE GIRL, LIVING IN A BARBIE WO--
You got the impression fairly quickly, anyhow. At least the pink sunset view over pink lemonade-colored waves shimmering in the fading light was nice and quaint enough. Oh, and there was a hammock. Neon pink ropes and pastel pink colored patterned pillows, naturally.
And, unfortunately, seven students had been assigned to live here. Five native Scottish Hogwarts children, one Durmstrangian, and one Tenūsan. Poor unfortunate souls. Hopefully they would somehow survive this harrowing weeklong endeavor...

The day the letter had come was a devastating one for Astra. She and Roderick were having lunch together, per usual, when Decem, the new family owl now that Novem was too old to fly from London to the Highlands what with all the air pollution, came swooping in with a letter addressed to Astra and Astra alone in his claws. Astra had made Roderick read it for her as she studied her half-eaten sandwich intensely.Whoever had let her mother and father know she was avoiding most people and events like the plague during fall term, the exact opposite of the mission they'd given her, would be killed on sight if Astra ever discovered who they were. Something in Roderick's beady little eyes told her he was telling the truth as he protected himself from enraged assault after informing his sister that Hyperion and Morella did not care who she went with or how she got there, but that she was going to the Valentine's event at Beauxbâtons, no question.
Attending the rager had been fun, and something she'd wanted to do. It felt good to win and to celebrate with her friends, team, and peers. S.N.O.G. had been... Interesting, but no one had forced her to go, except if you counted Hermes, and, well, once you got past the nature of Spin the Bottle it had been an event of comraderie within House Slytherin.
This though? This was organized by the adults. This was an official event, which historically had been nothing but bad for the snakelet. This was going overseas to a place she had never been to with a language she didn't speak and without Roderick, because he already had a group, and really she didn't want him because she didn't want him to see her so unwell with paranoia and anxiety, she didn't want him to tell their parents, she didn't want to lapse into weakness when she had just begun to feel so strong again.
The nights leading up to departure were sleepless. Dark shadows rested under her eyes and she was more twitchy than the normal fidgety. Palms slick with sweat wiped vigorously against her cargo pants before scooping Hermes into her arms and hefting her duffel on her shoulder. He situated himself on her other shoulder, blinking at her slowly with green-gold eyes as if to say everything would be alright. And maybe it would be. She'd managed to room with Siobhan and Piérre, both immense comforts, and Hermes was always there for her wasn't he?
Siobhan puked on the way over, right out into the ocean they were flying so high above. The carriage was a lot different from a broom, and Astra would've preferred a broom she thought, especially when her stomach twisted into knots and she'd get all unfocused and her heartbeat sounded loud and everything else sounded underwater and all the window did was make her feel more trapped.
When they landed, Astra stuck close to Siobhan, under the guise of helping her unsteady friend stay upright. Which, of course, she was trying to do, but she also needed a lifeline, an anchor in the shortness of breath and dizzy feeling in her cloudy head.
They moved with their group, coming to a halt in front of what could only be described as a dollhouse for regular sized, fleshy humans. "Oh, God, I think my retinas are burning," Astra whispered, staring horrified and slack-jawed at the Barbie-strosity. She stayed by Siobhan's side as they entered, met with more pink and further evidence that their temporary residence was, in fact, a life-sized dollhouse. "I hope the food isn't as plastic as the rest of this place." Oops. Shut it, brain.
Hermes immediately jumped from her shoulder and across furniture till he was nestled snugly in the plush mattress of a bed close to the fireplace. "No. We're not sleeping there," Astra scolded the feline, dropping her duffel on a bed nearer to the kitchen and exit. He yowled in response, snuggling down further into the mattress.
At least the view was pretty. Astra cracked her knuckles as she stared out the window, unfocused and obviously unsettled, though her equally unsettling aura may discourage many from asking after her. Which, she supposed, was a good thing, for there were only a few people she'd even entertain the thought of that conversation with, and they were the unbothered ones.

Prat stepped over the threshold of the cabin and his eyes immediately widened in disbelief. The pink stink washed over hi. This place was a visual assault of plasticity on anyone who dared to even spare it a glance.
Just standing there nearly made his stomach churn. The feeling of standing there was as if he had been miniaturized and thrust into a nightmarish version of the dollhouse his cousin had possessed.
It felt as if the walls themselves spoke of only makeovers and high-heeled dreams. The thought of spending any amount of time in this candy-coated bubble gum pink shit show hellhole made his skin crawl.
His eyes scanned the room, a futile attempt to locate a single spot of sanity amidst this chaos of pastel and glitter. The white accents looked like they would crying out for mercy. Lost in this stupid sea of Pepto-Bismol pink.
The furniture in his honest opinion was a hodgepodge of shapes and sizes, seemingly plucked straight from a Muggle toy store, each piece more ridiculous than the last.
The beanbags in the area seemed as if they had been filled with the nightmarish screams of a thousand little girls who had been forced to watch the "Barbie" movie on repeat, until they could mindlessly word each dialogue with timed accuracy.
He wondered who in their right mind would have chosen such a garish theme. Taking a deep breath, he told himself it was just a temporary situation, and he would survive, or so he hoped.
He wasn't sure if he should laugh or cry at the absurdity of it all. The pink was indeed a little too pink, a candy-coated monstrosity that seemed to be closing in on him from all sides. The stark whiteness of the non-pink elements was blinding, making him squint as if he had just stepped out of a dimly lit alley into the harsh sunlight, this is what vampires felt like.
He could almost hear the echoes of high-pitched giggles and the plastic clack of doll heels on hardwood floors. "This... this is going to be an adventure," he murmured to himself, his voice sounding strained even to his own ears. Living in a place like this was the visual equivalent of nails on a chalkboard for his very soul.
Prat's gaze swept the room, taking in his new temporary roommates. There was Astra Norrick, a fellow Slytherin. They had no history, they had barely interacted in a private manner, and Prat was satisfied with that amount of acquaintance with this one.
His thoughts briefly strayed to their last encounter, a Slytherin event. The event in it's entirety was fun for Prat, but he had few events happen he wish they didn't.
Then there was Siobhan, he remembered her from school as well, a witch from a duel he had been knocked out in.
And finally, there was Pierre, how they met and what they did, that was their secret to keep. A mystery for later.
He approached the group with a forced smile, with the corners of his mouth twitching slightly. "Hii, we're going to be roomies," he said, trying to keep the sarcasm out of his voice. "Welcome to...Bubble Gum Hell, you'll love it here."
Prat now waited for Val, while his eyes unconsciously scanned the room for the least offensive spot to claim for himself. Spotting an empty bean bag that looked slightly less terrifying than the others, he decided to claim it.
He assumed Val would be here soon, and he didn't want to be alone with just strangers in this strange new place. They had been friends before either of them even arrived to Hogwarts, even having a huge bonding moment years ago over their shared love for food and animals.
With a sigh, he lowered himself onto the bean bag, the plastic beads shifting and popping under his weight. It was surprisingly comfortable.

Kavi was grateful for Portkeys. Being from one of the farther schools, he was glad that he didn't have to suffer through another multi-day journey on them, especially so near the full moon. It sucked that these events always coincided with the full moon, but he wasn't about to let lycanthropy get the best of him and stop him from going, though it definitely did still make him weak, causing him to need a moment to get up post-portkey as he tried not to hurl. Though, since the full moon was tonight, he should be feeling fine for the majority of the trip. He just had to be extra sure to lock himself up securely and take extra care with the last dose of wolfsbane. He didn't want anything to happen... again.
It wasn't long until Khara was dragging Kavi towards the cabins, eager to see her new friend, Valkyrja. They had gotten along swimmingly after Vrika had introduced her boyfriend's family to them, and was beyond excited to see her again, opting to share a cabin so they had the most time together. Kavi wasn't as particular about his cabin, opting to stay by Khara's side, just in case anything were to happen on this trip, like had happened at Hogsmeade during his visit to Hogwarts. He was quite relived to find out the interschool event was not planned to be hosted at Hogwarts, allowing him some peace of mind there, more confident about his younger sisters attending, especially since they were looking forward to it so much. Vitaka spent hours convincing him that she'd be okay and with her friends, but Khara couldn't convince him of such, so he signed up to be in her cabin, not even bothering to see who else would be there. If he was going to be the outlier in a cabin of 12-year-old girls, so be it.
That's certainly what he thought, when he stepped in. It was... pink. Everything was pink. A beachy pink, at that, making for a very confusing and aggressive mix of colors and styles. Not exactly the relaxing getaway he would have imagined. Khara didn't seem to mind, giggling as she rushed towards a top bunk, plopping herself on one and setting her stuff on the other to reserve it for Valkyrja. Kavi did the best to blink the pink out of his eyes before taking the bunk directly underneath Khara and returning to the living room, still not completely adjusted to the sheer amount of color his eyes were taking in. He was a bit relieved to discover that it wasn't all 12-year-old girls, though.
"Hey," he introduced himself. "I'm Kavi, that's my sister, Khara." He nodded over in her direction as she yelled her hellos from the other room, hoping they vaguely saw her as she ran by. He settled down, opting for one of the bean bags as well, frowning slightly at the sounds it made. "So, we'll be staying with you all." He looked at each of them, trying to figure out what else to say to spark up the conversation. "We're both Tenūsa students." What a way to stir up the conversation. He'd often talk about their schoolwork with his peers, but seeing the younger kids, might not be the best way to go, so he instead opted to wait for them to ask the more invigorating questions. Or perhaps they wouldn't ask anything at all, and they'd have a very awkward week in the very, very pink cabin. Either way, the week ahead was sure to host some interesting events.

Valkyrja would never be able to pinpoint how she’d been roped into the event at Beauxbatons. In fact, she was sure she had explicitly said no. Yet there she was, traveling with her older brother, Chandrajit to France. It had been quite a while since she’d been here with her family for a rather brief vacation of sorts. Short enough that she knew absolutely nothing about the school they were visiting, its language, or much about the French besides their fabulous baguettes and cheese.
Her brother had somehow caught her in a moment of distraction and roped her into socializing at the other wizarding school. To make matters even more chaotic, he wasn’t even in the same cabin as her. He’d convinced his family to let them go if they traveled together which was what was happening. The only positive out of it all was that she knew she wouldn’t have to suffer it all. She was rather excited to see her friends from Hogwarts there as well as a few others from Tenūsa that had her skipping in anticipation. Maybe it would all be worth it if she could hang out with her newly made friend.
A group of students and staff had been expected to Portkey together, something that Valk was especially not looking forward to experiencing. She’d never done it before and had heard all sorts of terrifying encounters. Her hands were shaking as her brother looked at her expectantly. With a quick deep breath, her hand reached out and she nearly yelped in his ear at the sensation. Not moments later, she had landed and rather ungracefully. Her body had splatted somewhere, on what looked like a beach or something and there was sand everywhere.
She’d seen the cabin assignments and about half of the names were entirely unfamiliar to her. The few she knew, she was looking forward to but the part she’d zoomed in on had been discovering the cabin was on a beach. White it was February, she had dressed as if it was summer and she was ready for the blazing heat as the sun gently kissed her skin. A green and blue dress along with sneakers adorned her body with simple earrings and her hair flowing in the breeze. Well, it would have if she hadn’t landed straight in the sand. Her brother had landed as if this was something he’d done many times, which she suspected he had. Her hair was full of sand and it was sitting in her shoes and in places she dared not mention. A shower would fix her up later but with a sigh, she lay there for another moment before her resolve broke and she sat up before pulling herself off the ground. With a hidden smirk, her brother waved as he trampled off towards wherever the hell his cabin was leaving her to explore the area to find hers.
A large cabin stood in front of her and was an eyesore. In fact, she was deeply concerned for the state of mind of whoever had built the cabin. If she hadn’t known better, she would have assumed that this was a prank from her brother dearest but there were other people staying there clearly who had no idea who their family was so it was most definitely out of the realm of sanity to assume he had any part in this.
With a sense of indignation and wary hesitation, she slowly opened the door, finding this to be her assigned cabin, and her eyes were assaulted even further by the sight in front of her. It took a lot to shock the poor Gryffindor but this had colored her shocked. In fact, her jaw had dropped as she took it all in. Everything was…. PINK. It reminded her of a child with a box of crayons or her peers' insistence that she should have loved the color since she was a girl. All that had done was push her further away and increase her hatred of the putrid color.
Her hand ran down her face as she deeply sighed and then stepped into the cabin, not sure of what to expect. Would the rest be equally as…. bright? She almost feared for her life, which was dramatic but she had no other way to react. Maybe, she’d be able to convince her brother to let her stay with him….
She dragged her things behind her and continued in trying to see where everything was. Her eyes were just trying to look beyond the pink of it all. A few voices seemed to be conversing with each other and she traversed in that general direction finding them to be closer as she kept moving. Out of everyone present, she only recognized three of them and she was giddy to give them hugs and greet them properly. Not wanting to ruin the surprise, she had already left her belongings by the door so as not to have more things to hold and bring attention to herself.
Reaching forward, she moved behind Prat who she’d grown up and become quite close friends, and then moved to wrap a hug around Kavi, who she’d kind of forced into becoming her friend (as one did), what with their siblings being madly in love or something equally as gross and love sickening. They’d have fit in perfectly for this Valentine’s nonsense. She offered her greetings to everyone in the room before hearing before seeing the other person she’d been itching to hug.
Finding her friend on the bunks, she climbed up and wrapped her close compatriot, Khara in a tight hug that included lots of squealing and giggles. Very Barbie-girl of her. If only for a moment. Finding her things, she pulled them to the top bunk that had been saved for her and then nodded towards the living space where it seemed everyone had congregated, indicating to her friend she was looking to mingle if briefly, remembering all her etiquette and manners so deeply ingrained in her. “Hi everyone! My name is Valkyrja but Valk will do!”
As per her lack of boundaries, she threw her arm over Prat’s shoulder since he’d been seated on some kind of squishy monstrosity and grinned at everyone. “So…. anyone know why this room looks like a three year old muggle's either dream? What’s with all the pink here??” All of the people around her looked older and she figured one of them would be smart enough to differentiate why the hell they’d been assigned this muggle monstrosity of a cabin. Hopefully, it was just a big mistake. A giant prank from one of the other schools even. When they’d been told beach, this had been the furthest thing from her mind.

⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆ "I am only brave when I need to be ,being brave doesn't mean I go looking for trouble"⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆The opportunity to explore other magical schools was too good to pass up, especially for a young fledgling witch who never had as so fledgling from the United Kingdom. Being able to visit the most romantic country during the most romantic time of the year seemed too good to pass up. She hadn't been able to participate in summer camp because it fell during the harvest time for the farm at home. But this time, with lots of begging and under the guise of "amnesty towards the French" or something along those lines, it had worked. When she'd gotten the news back that she was allowed to go, the smile on her face hadn't disappeared all week.
She'd made sure to do all of her assigned classwork and homework before the trip, that way she wouldn't have to work on it during the adventures. Of course, if there was more schoolwork, she would work on it. She couldn't fall behind- that simply wouldn't do. She couldn't wait for the activities that were said to be happening once they all arrived and had settled in. It was a dream come true to see more magical culture and immerse herself in the beauty of what she had read about the Beauxbâtons Academy of Magic. It reminded her of her Lord of the Rings stories, what with the details of their castle and with how supposedly the students ate and communicated with the gentle dulcet sounds of the wood nymphs in the background. She wasn't exactly certain of how much of their castle she would get to explore but she desperately wanted tto
Siobhan had been equally as excited to find out that she and Astra would be staying together. Of course t, hey wouldn't be the only ones in the cabin but it was nice to be paired with her best friend. At least she knew someone and didn't need to worry about whether everyone else would like her for the entire trip. Making friends was fun but it didn't need to be the main focal point of the activities.
However the trip into France was not at all wh, at Siobhatod expected- or enjoyed. While she admired the art of flying, it was not something that she desperately wished to partake in and the rocky, bumpy, overly turbulent trip towards Beauxbâtons had only solidified her hatred of being more than a few feet off the ground. She hadn't eaten much beforehand to quell the shaking in her stotofortunatley the loss of her breakfast cereal was inevitable. At least she'd had the decency to lean out the window... How embarrassing.
She'd spent the rest of the trip praying for the landing of the Abraxan-pulled carriage and when it landed, roughly might she add, she had all but kissed the ground. She was thankful that Astra chose to stick close to her and help her out. She wanted to lie down for a moment in a quiet, cozy, gentle area.
Unfortunately, nothing about this cabin was quiet, coz,y or gentle. It was fluorescentnt pink and teal- decorated to resemble the muggle "Barbie." She felt as though her eyes were being assaulted as she and Astra explored the cabin. Astra chose to voice the thought that Siobhan had been thinking, following it up with a comment about the food. Oh god- Not food- She could feel her stomach turning over again. Quick, she needed a distraction.
It wasn't until her eyes had situated themselves to the bright 1960s color scheme that she realized that the Cabin was supposed to be themed to a beautiful white sandy beach from the CCaribbeanor some other beautiful romantic island. She'd never been to a real beach before and strangely the sounds of the ocean were calming all of her senses as they were wildly attacked by the sights and colors.
Siobhan had to admit that the Cabin was rather lively. The other students in the cabin had smiled and introduced themselves or at least acknowledged the two of them walking into the room. Two of the students... Kavi and Khara had come from Tenūsa! Magic truly astounded her in the way that it was all over the world. She wondered if either of them would let her ask questions about their magic. However, her shyness seemed to get the better of her and she kind of stood gaping at everything. Similar to a seal she assumed.
Like the holiday that it was designed around, there wasn't a doubt that this cabin was beautiful and she was happy that she had chosen to come on the trip. And, as an added bonus- Astra had brought her ca bonusan greatly enjoyed seeing as she couldn't bring her big, chunky St. Bernard dog, Porter. She missed his slobbery cuddliness but Astra's cat was a nice replacement.
And then all of a sudden, she heard the agitating, grating voice that she'd not expected to hear in this place. She turned to see that Prat was standing in the cabin and he seemed all too excited to announce his opinion about the situation, citing it to be "Bubble gum hell." She could hear the sarcasm oozing from his conscious as his forced smile looked like a goofy clown smile while he talked to them. She, in turn, chose to smile politely even though she wanted to find an adult and beg for a cabin change. Sorry, Astra- she didn't know if she would mentally make it through without wanting to bang her head against the wall for hours.
"Oh no- not you... Astr, please don't put our stuff over here-" Siobhan muttered as she willed the gods above to strengthen her manners.
Though when the next and possibly last member of their cabin had shown up, introduced herself with such a pretty name- potentially reminiscent of the Valkaries- and commented about the cabValkyries a somewhat je-ne-se-quois of a three year olds dreams, was when Siobhanthree-year-oldsher full voice.
"I think it's charming. Barbie and Ken have statistically had one of the most stable relationships in character history. Why shouldn't it be themed as such for Valentine's Day?" She said smiling, "My name is Siobhan- it's lovely to meet everyone."

"PIÉRRE LUIGI! GET BACK OVER HERE!" The booming voice of a much bigger twin echoed in the vicinity like a warning roll of thunder, but the name of the person that it concerned was already running at top speed away from him as fast as he could, a big and broad smile spread across his features like peanut butter on warm toast. Under one arm, held there as if it were a football, was Romeo's infamous red Durmstrang cloak. He had half a mind to throw it around his own shoulders for a few moments, just to feel how the fabric would catch the air and flutter in the breeze of his own movement, but he knew that doing so would probably slow him down and he couldn't afford to slow down when it came to a bullrushing Romeo chasing right after him.
The venture here to France was mostly uneventful, Piérre had been kicking the wall of the carriage in boredom nearly the entire ride, his body contorting in an attempt to get comfortable, much to the chagrin of his carriage-mate. But they had still made some nice small talk together, and the boy had managed to make him laugh a bit at that.
Running past a cluster of students, Piérre bashed on through and banked on the knowledge that much larger Romeo wouldn't dare to knock people over like bowling pins just to get something of his own away from someone who was likely to return the item eventually considering that the two of them were rooming together. Piérre had glanced at the roster long enough to see that he recognized most of the people in the group. Tyche, Wolf, Siobhan of the duelling team, and a Gryffindor fresh-grade firstie that he had yet to discover more about.but there had been a couple of names he hadn't recognized, from a school that he didn't know much about--so he deserved a bit of a pass when it came to that.
Sure enough, as he passed by--nabbing a little this-or-that from a person that had been hanging by a thread from a particularly finicky load and then tucking it into his pocket--Romeo didn't dare to crash on through any further. Unfortunately for him, his little bandersnatch snatch was quite noticed indeed, and within a few seconds he now had another person chasing him, trying to get their item back as Romeo began to close the distance once more.
But there was his cabin, just up ahead, at least according to the map that he was using to guide him through the vicinity filled with schools and students milling about haphazardly.
He tripped over a suitcase, caught himself on a hand just in time to slam into a dolly carrying a pile of suitcases that subsequently Jenga'd themselves across the ground, and then proceeded to run thought the minefield of newly toppled suitcases by jumping on them like they were lily pads to the clear other side. Waving his arms wildly, he felt his heart and chest burning as he gave up the last of the juice that he had in his muscles before throwing a hand forwards and crashing through the acrylic pink door to enter into the pink hellscape beyond.
Skidding to a stop in the middle of the living room, he breathed heavily while holding himself tall. His hair was a mess, he was slightly drenched in sweat in a way that made his thin silk-like pink shirt cling slightly to his sides and back, the hag stone that usually rested upon his chest was exposed as well as the many golden necklaces that he was wearing, and the enormous smile was still plastered across his face with complete and reckless abandon. He waved his hand exuberantly to the one, two, three, four, five, six... six! He and his brother were the last, it seemed. "Hello, friends!" He crowed with delight, practically howling his delight. "Did the world get color-corrected or did my shirt stain the rest of the house?!"
His brain was slightly fried from the work-out, he wasn't thinking totally clearly yet. But he'd come around eventually, surely. He winked towards Prat and Astra, and then waved at Sio and the little Gryffindor. His eyes alit on the other elder boy and the little girl with him. "Hallo! I'm Piérre! I think you two are the Tenūsans? A pleasure! Are you able to properly right yourselves after so long in the land down under?" He swept into a silly bow as a silver cat rushed into the room and immediately twined around his legs.
The only things that he carried with him was a small messenger bag and a briefcase sized suitcase. Well, that and the vibrant red and black wolf-fur cloak of a Durmstrangian student. But that was besides the point. Romeo would catch up eventually. Piérre was here to play with the fellow cabin inhabitants in the meanwhile.

No, the nausea did not in fact improve the second time the full moon was on the horizon of the month. In fact, I had a half a mind to think that it was worse. It did not help that Durmstrang's chosen method of travel enabled seasickness to compound with the gut-churning sensation of feverish clamminess as internal preparations were being made for my second occasion of turning.
And it certainly did not help that brother dearest was just as spirited and spritely as ever upon arrival--my weariness after slogging off of the boat with my single trunk and backpack resulting in a hard pitch towards the nearest clump of bushes as full post-travel sickness took its toll. After chattering like a starling in my ear and patting my back like a college girl helping a sorority sister in the bathroom after having a bit too much to nip, he proceeded of course to turn the interaction sour by unclasping my cloak (only recently patched up after its little shredding in December) and gallivanting away with it through the mess of other new arrivals.
I had ended up abandoned my trunk as well as throwing off my backpack with it just to chase after the little bastard.
"PIÉRRE LUIGI! GET BACK OVER HERE!" I bellowed, feeling rage mingle with the epinephrine of having just thrown up. Despite an acid taste in my mouth--indeed, perhaps it was only helping to contribute to the sudden feeling of strength I had as I entered into a hot pursuit--I barged after my brother, forcing my way through the sea of people and their things and keeping my eye locked soundly upon that weaving blur of gold, pink, and brown.
I gritted my teeth as he pulled a fast one, tucking through an area that was indeed much too small for me to pass through myself. This was a common ploy of his, and worst of all--it always worked because he knew I wasn't going to barrel through people due to my immense bulk and almost uncontrollable strength. "WHEN I CATCH YOU, YOU'RE A DEAD SUNOVABITCH!"
I was a little angry and unable to handle his nonsense on this particular day, the irony of the name I had called him--and myself by proxy--was certainly not entirely wasted on me, and likely not going to be wasted on him, even as he vanished entirely into the shielding bodies of the unknown crowd.
But unfortunately for him, I knew where he lived. We had planned to be placed together in a cabin, after all. Valentin was not joining us, as he had his own plans for the time during which the international schools were getting together, and while I had hoped that I could have also not come to this painful little event... Piérre had been very persuasive. Valentin had his own work that he had to do--which I understood. My brother and I also had work to do here, after all, thanks to some little nuggets of information that he had learned from Zio Noé--a familial connection I had been in shock of learning about when Piérre had dropped that little information bomb on me.
Beauxbatons was the alma mater of our father, after all.
I finally got through the worst of the population density and came up on a cabin whose door was just swinging shut again. Storming up to it, I turned the knob and pushed it in, stepping angrily into the living room and then immediately wishing that I hadn't as I reeled from the coloring that only seemed to make my nausea suddenly worsen.
Dear God, what was it with me and being placed into vomit-inducing cabin aesthetics?! First the infamous Unicorn Cabin, now this?!
My gaze flashed across the room, landing on Piérre. I could not find my bold red cloak on his person at first glance. My eyes narrowed. "Where is it." I said darkly, raising an eyebrow and slowly crossing my arms. The taste in my mouth was going sour by now. "Where did you put it."
Piérre only smiled sheepishly with an edge of stupidly, flaring his hands and shrugging. "I dunno. I don't know where it is!"
"You just had it, how can you not know where it is."
"Rome, I think your eyes are going." He chirped sweetly clasping both of his hands to his cheeks and fluttering his eyelashes innocently. "You're seeing too much red~ You should make it pink instead!"
"I think the interior has enough pink for the both of us." I approached him and picked him up, patting him down on one side and then another as he squealed in surprise and then shock as he kicked helplessly in the air from his place slung over my shoulder. "AAAA! ROMEO!" "Hold still, and this'll go faster." I growled.
I huffed as Piérre's boot got me once in the ribs before I rolled my eyes and continued. "Way to act so mature in front of everyone else, I'm sure you're so proud of yourself. Seriously, you'd think that I was--" Came the grumble as I glanced around the room at the other residents, noting that they were a good deal younger than both myself and my brother--with the exception of one, who was--
"--sticking you. Kavi?" Anger dissipated quickly as I recognized my international acquaintance. Piérre's fists kept beating on my back, but I ignored him and his high-pitched complaints in Italian. "Fancy seeing you here! How have you been?" I tried to summon an easy smile, which came a bit awkwardly.
My brother continued to complain and kick.

⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆ "I am only brave when I need to be ,being brave doesn't mean I go looking for trouble"⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆Siobhan jumped after the entrance that her duelling captain made alongside another, much bigger, much angrier redhead who tackled the former with his entire body weight, sending them both crashing to the floor. Siobhan instinctively moved away as she listened to the two of them argue as though nobody else was nearby. Piérre was nice enough, but sometimes he could be extremely rowdy, and often it left her feeling like she was on a violently thrashing rollercoaster.
Actually- with the experience she had had from the flight here, it was like the carriages. But maybe slightly worse.
Of course, she wouldn't ever tell him this but sometimes, even watching his antics wore her out. She knew he was a big party animal and loved to get into mischief, but he was still one of the nicer upper-level students of their house.
Now, she didn't know what to make of the giant sitting on top of him. Piérre seemed to be completely fine- as if this was a common occurrence but he was laughing/wheezing too hard to differentiate between pained inflections. When she finally registered that it was another student and not a part-giant that had wandered into their cabin.
She had never seen him before, but he looked to be far older than all of them. Maybe it was the way his face and the visible skin was marred with scarring. It was almost... Disturbing? But curiously disturbing! She wondered if perhaps he was a professor? Or maybe he was a student who took Care of Magical Creatures too seriously. It would be unkind of her to assume he was just a ruffian, right?
She and the rest of their cabin watched in momentary shocked silence. Or- Well, perhaps just silence in her case. She figured Piérre had to have some ulterior motive if he was trying to cause problems for whoever it was. He wasn't that scattered in his brain, was he?
She watched as the bigger one turned his gaze on the room, and she involuntarily stiffened. His eyes were almost doglike in a sense in the way he observed those he saw before his gaze and commentary landed on Kavi, one of the Tenusa students. Her eyes flicked back and forth between the two boys as they seemed to size each other up almost uncomfortably. She watched as the bigger, unnamed boy- Romeo... she thinks is what Pierre called him- smiled with too many teeth for it not be awkward.
She shuffled away from the noise that Piérre was making on the floor as Romeo continued to all but sit on him for taking whatever it was that he had taken, and rummaged through her smaller trunk looking for her teacup and tea set. Her small batch of an apothecary was sitting in the pocket lining of her trunk and she felt the situation called for something calming. Perhaps an herbal tea with some homemade strawberry honey.
When she stood up, she gathered as much of her supposed lioness bravery as she could muster and cleared her throat in a way that asked for their attention but in a way that didn't come about unkindly.
"May I make us all some tea? I am still quite sick from the flight here and it is rather chaotic in here in terms of color. Perhaps a chamomile might soothe our traveling weariness and... settle whatever this is?" Siobhan asked as she wrung her index fingers together slightly uncomfortably. She didn't often speak to this many people at once as seven pairs of eyes found their way towards her and her mousy voice.
"Unless- Unless nobody wants tea. I'll just go make some and leave the extra in the kettle." Siobhan mumbled as she disappeared into the kitchen, smacking her face into the side of the door as she did so. These eyes of hers were seriously causing more trouble than they ever had before, and this was the embarrassment icing on the humiliation cake for her.
Luckily, their kitchen was a different shade of turquoise and seemed to be far more normal than the other areas of the cabin. Finding the kettle, she started to boil the water. It was the muggle way, perhaps, but it was comforting and tasted quite the same, thank you very much. She counted out nine scoops of her homemade chamomile and ginger tea, exactly one scoop for each person and one extra for flavor.
Chamomile and ginger scents wafted through the air as the tea soaked, and she opened up her honey jar, adding the scent of strawberry and honey to the mix. She could feel the excess nausea from the trip slowly subduing itself within her stomach. The anxiety from all the new people also decreased as she prepared her cup of tea and looked out the window of the kitchen. There was a very beautiful beach outside with a crystal clear ocean front. Perhaps if she was feeling better and nobody killed each other within the next twenty minutes, she could take a walk. She'd never been to a real beach before.

Eight people- seven people, because Astra herself was certainly not contributing to the ruckus- were not allowed to make this much noise. The cabin was chaos in pure form, plain and simple. "I know, I just need a second, my arms are tired," she answered Siobhan as the Gryffindor chastised her for placing their luggage down. Her arms were not tired. She just couldn't stand to feel the texture of the handles, the weight of the bags, if she was to stop herself from having a full blown panic attack. One would hope she could be forgiven for not remembering names right now, being introduced to them in such quick succession and in such a state. Kava Kavi, Khari Khara, and Valk seemed like nice people. She offered her name in introduction, but her quieter than usual voice was basically drowned by sibling rivalry volume level 100 barging in.
Ah! Piérre! There he was! And his giant of a twin brother, too! Astra could practically feel her soul leaving her body as the Marchonné brothers added to the cacophony of the cabin. Her legs felt a great deal more like jelly than they ought, and Astra had a fleeting moment of clarity in which she realized sitting down might be the best course of action.
Hermes' head popped up from his blanket burrow. The creature's wide green-gold eyes surveyed the room before catching sight of his person leaning against the wall, her pale British face looking a few shades closer to paper than usual. He stretched before leaping off the bed he'd claimed and weaved through the feet of his human cabinmates (for of course this was his cabin, too) in order to get to Astra.
Siobhan was going to make tea. What in the world happened to leaving as soon as they could? Astra scooped up Hermes, the weight of him a familiar comfort. "Siobhan, I'll-" she winced as her friend smacked into the wall, her declining eyesight was definitely beginning to be a problem- "help you."
The kitchen was quieter. Visually, at least. And the tea smells were calming to Astra, though she would decline a cup, as she could hardly stomach the thought of water at this moment. "At least the view is pretty. I haven't been to the sea since I was little, but I want to." Talking about things that were not the fact they were currently in France with the school seemed to make the anxiety less crippling, which was a good thing. She supposed.
