Whispers of The Dark
As the room was adjourned with an erected wall that Noah cast (Structure Building Charm), he put up a picture of a muggle suburbish town, as there were houses in the background. The streets had a few pebbles and a random pothole in the street. The grass was nearly trimmed and kept up, the houses looked a bit beat up on the offhand. He put a pot with a tree in it directly in the center of the room so there was at least some live greenery in the approximate area.
The next thing Prat and Noah did was set up a small table that had a non-alcoholic spicy margarita and a platter of hors d'oeuvre. It was nothing too extravagant but he wanted to try and ensure that the scene came to life in some way.
In September, Noah had asked his fathers for a nerf gun, something he couldn’t bear to ask his muggle neighbor Mario for, and his fathers sent him one via owl. It was a Colt M1911 and it had foam bullets and he wanted to use that for the game tonight. OC godmod: Noah and Prat met with a [faceless] npc of sixth year and they obliged his request to cast the Silencing Charm on the gun so that when it fired it was silent.
Now, Noah and Prat made identification cards for his groups. He also made invitations with the information about their characters as well as their secrets and grudges and how they know one another. He sent everyone who signed up an owl and the murderer got the nerf gun along with their ID card and their invitations and character information. They were instructed to try to conceal the gun in their invitation because otherwise it would be pretty obvious that they were the murderer.
When it was time for the game to begin, he stood there in his World War Two British Military suit saluting each person who came in. "Come in sirs and madams."Information Section: Please ReadReducioInformation

Notice
Every mod post, you will notice that the light goes out every time there is a murder. The light stays out for 1 minute to allow the murderer to conceal the weapon in some way and to avoid suspicion. When the light goes out, you'll hear a bang from the nerf gun and if you feel yourself getting shot with a foam bullet, you have been killed. You may lay down on the ground and play dead. You may find a funny pose to be in, whatever. When the light goes back on, a vote will be held to accuse someone of the murder.
I've been accused of a murder! What do I do?
Well dearie, you would've been considered "executed" if the majority votes you as murderer. This means that you are out. The game is over when all of the players are dead except for the detective and murderer, or when the murderer has been accused and executed.
How do I vote?
Every round, you need to send me an owl of who you're voting or accusing. Additionally you MUST post otherwise your vote will be seen as invalid.
I did not post for a round or more, what happens? (if you don't send me your vote but post, it's okay, don't worry about it.)
The murderer will likely kill you the next round.
I'm the murderer! What happens now?
Post each round. Send me your target via owl. In Character, when the lights go out, you can pull out your nerf gun and shoot your target. You will have the rest of the minute to hide the gun or conceal it.
I'm the detective! What happens now?
Post each round. Send me your accused victim via owl. You cannot be killed.
I'm a doctor! What happens now?
Post each round. Send me your accused victim via owl. There will be a second blackout in the mod post in where you will have a CHANCE of healing the shot victim.
I was a shot victim! I was healed!
Good for you, you may continue in the game. However, one of your limbs have been ic AMPUTATED so in roleplay, you would not have that limb because the doctor amputated the shot limb.
What if I have to leave Out of Character and I'm the Murderer or a Doctor or a Detective?
That's fine, just please notify us at some point. We will owl another person and give them an additional "title" for their character that they are already playing. For example: Baker is now Murderer but still the same character, you don't gain another. When it comes to a detective and a doctor, unfortunately, we won't pass it on. The game continues until its over.
Please note: We are taking actions via owl so that actions and votes are anonymous to keep the mystery. What you choose to say or do in your post whether ooc or ic can be used against you so do your best to keep your "secret" role anonymous. If you are a detective or a murderer it can be used against you if you say it out loud. We suggest coming up with an undercover job to conceal the fact. Not required, you could be vague, but what you say and do whether oc or ic can be used against you.Mod Post Content: Mods

· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·Once upon a time, Koko had truly, honestly sworn off Hogwarts's dances. Things went wrong too often for any of them to be safe. People got burnt, hurt, stabbed, whatever you thought of, it had occurred at least once. If you wanted a safe, easy night, a Hogwarts dance was most certainly not the place to have it.
And that was before the recent attack at Hogsmeade. If that had not occurred, Koko would not be here, in a long, black, velvet dress, at this ball. She would not have satin gloves up to her elbows, would not have heels strapped onto her feet. Her blonde hair would not be done in a style reminiscent of those of Hedy Lamarr in the 1940s.
The attack had, in the frankest, most simple way, reminded her of why she had re-applied to become a prefect. Something about caring about others, about wanting safety in this. If some people who thought violence was the answer could burn down children and people and get away with it, then Koko could drag her sorry arse to a ball and be a perfect sentinel.
That began, then, with joining an activity. She entered slowly, nodding curtly and respectfully to the organisers. Her amber eyes remained narrowed, although she glanced around thoughtfully, taking in her surroundings and appreciating the effort that had gone into this. Her red-painted lips curved up slightly at the edges. Despite the apprehension that had long since settled in her gut, this was... almost charming.
She thought back to the role she was meant to play. She had never been the greatest actress, far from it, really, but nonetheless, she would try to embody her role. She sat at the table and adjusted her gloves while eyeing the refreshments, being careful not to touch anything. She had been to Hogwarts balls before, after all...
But here, right now, this was a village, apparently, not Hogwarts. Maybe she could just let herself relax into the fantasy of safety, just for a moment...
As people entered, in accordance with her role, Koko would smile warmly and offer a small wave to each newcomer.· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·

@Prat Pass | MENTIONINGIt had been a full year since Lucky had been able to attend a Hogwarts event. The last had been in her third year. She hadn't done much. Hadn't met with a group of friends for a laugh. All Lucky had done was roam the dance floor, visit a petting zoo, and watch from the sidelines as the world moved beyond her. The idea of doing it again for her return semester didn't appeal to the young woman but some part of her craved it. For all the turmoil in her personal life, she never thought she would miss the kind of normalcy that a Hogwarts fall ball would bring. So she grumbled -- she rolled her eyes, stamped her foot, and made a big show about participating. But every spare moment was spent pulling her outfit together. It was spent getting the measurements, feel, and aesthetic of the 1950s down perfectly. This time, Lucky wouldn't let herself fade into the background.
Dark brown tresses were brushed behind her shoulder as Lucky nimbly made her way through crowded halls of the ball. She had never played the game she'd been eager to sign up for despite it being a muggle game but Lucky was determined to succeed. She had a competitive streak a mile long but it seemed it took perception to play too. She took a moment to herself, reviewing her ID card and information before she did her best to step into character. Maybe being someone besides Lucinia Thawin would be good for her. Lucky slid her sunglasses on -- despite not needing them -- and headed into the room. An audible gasp left her lips as she forgot to pretend that she wasn't impressed by what she saw. Still, she didn't slip too far out of character.
She gave the person at the door a salute much like their own. "Nice welcoming committee." Lucky muttered, dipping her head to give a nod before her gaze landed on a girl she had seen often enough on a broom, soaring through the air during Qudditch. She envied Koko Riddle -- and mostly anyone on the Quidditch team -- for their agility and ease of athletics. Before she could vocalize her excitement at meeting the girl, she remembered that they were playing a game. She wasn't Lucky and this wasn't Koko. The brunette moved across the room and lifted her chin to give her own version of a greeting. "Some party, huh?"

Pet Snake Present In Thread

Being an underpaid bartender was tough. Vito had just finished witnessing a newly engaged couple having their public proposal ruined by some idiot ( a handsome one at that ). Fun things happen in the city. But he was not all about public life, no. He was a bartender. He is meant to be behind the scenes. Watching. Observing. Listening. And getting a great deal of gossip from such. Being underpaid was bad, but most days Vito could justify the pay with the good goss. Most days, anyway.
Other times his bar was too rowdy. Vito could only take a certain amount of noise, and LUCA never failed to provide him. Like a grape jello shot with too much vodka. Absolutely- disgusting. In fact, Luca’s whole existence is a grape jello shot with too much vodka. Just having them around Vito’s vicinity makes Vito feel like he should take a trip to the clinic. Certain of some sort of allergic reaction Luca’s presence was triggering in Vito. How could someone's existence make his day so much worse.
One thing about Vito is that he holds a huge grudge. So the day Luca made a ruckus in the bar, forcing Vito to take months to convince customers that Vito’s ( yes that is the name of the bar), is a safe place, leaving a hefty cost of property damage. Vito being frugal didn’t help his grudge either.
Wow, even just thinking of goddamn Luca made him annoyed on the way back from the bar. All he wanted to do was destress. Without Luca in the room. Only thing is… who the hell was Luca.
That was when Hanako had to unfortunately break out of character. It was fun playing someone else, but he wasn’t really given much information on who was who. His only wish during the game was that
(a) no one outstaged him
(b) no percival rainwood
© preferably no Eun-ji and fancy smancy bird boy
Jack was busy back in the ball. Hanako strided first then. But it seemed he was too early. With only a few people in here when he arrived. None he was really that familiar with. Cept that beauty Koko Riddle. But seriously, who didn’t know her? Hanako certainly had his eye glancing at her whenever he had the opportunity to. He’d never miss a chance to not admire a good face card. But alas, today he was Vito, not Hanako.
At the stranger @Mahlioz Evethisawe, he returned the nod with his own added with a smirk, “ Evening” he spoke, trying to adopt a more casual drawl to his voice in comparison to his usual playful/flirtatious tone. Hanako Tone certainly wouldn’t casually greet someone with an ‘evening’, without any other quips to go along with it. But he was Vito, not Hanako. And as a bartender, simply greetings like that was normal.
It was then another kid @Jessamine Hemlock in red and white decided to grab one of the free drinks, seemingly getting in character and asking about wine. He let out a chuckle, deciding to come up to her. “Afraid this party doesn’t seem to be the time nor place, little lady. But I know a place that can fix you up with the finest wine there is,” he smoothly retorted, before taking something out of his pocket and handing what seemed to be a piece of paper to her. “ Vito. Vito Rossi. Owner of Vito’s, just down the street. I’m on my day off today, but give me back that business card, and I’ll get you one. On the house. Sweet deal, hm Miss Alessio?” He grinned, making sure his name was loud enough for the room to hear. Though if she didn't take the piece of paper, he would return it back to his pocket.
If she did take it, instead of what he claimed as a ‘business card’, it was simply a flimsy ripped note that was more like a to do list
Trash. He basically gave her trash. But hey, it was all to get in character, no?[/] feed rat to cu sith
[/] make jack’s bed when he’s in the showers
[ ] write essay due next mon
[ ] poison the wretched little void of black fur called a cat
He then turned back to the rest of the group and practised his friendliest smile. “ C’mon now. This is such a small party we got here. Introductions are in order hm? Another night out, another new friend?” @Lucinia Thawin @Koko Riddle
Perhaps some of the other people had their own strategies in winning this game. This was Hanako’s. Or rather, Vito’s. To a bartender, it was silly to think a silent one didn’t have their own stories. Maybe even skeletons in their closet. And whos to say he wasn't being louder on purpose to throw people off? Perhaps Miss Allesia here felt that it was her best strategy too. In contrasts to the others who seemed their best bet at winning was to lay low. And if this was a murder mystery game, there were plenty of ways to play~.
Speaking of characters, which one was Luca. How was he supposed to know who to sass at if he didnt know who was playing that particular character?
Regardless, anyone of them here could be the one 'executed' or be doing the one 'executing'. But alas, only time will tell. But Vito was relaxed, a carefree smile on him as he looked around the room.
Character Action: Marketing his 'bar' to Allesia. Addressing to people in the room to reveal who their characters are. Reverse psychology-ing people (or is he?)

Wyatt made his way to the small hall, holding a cat he didn’t have when the night began. It wasn’t the first thing that came to mind when Salami was handed to him, but now he was wondering what role she’d play. Maybe Burnett’s cat would be the killer, but she hadn’t signed up, had she? Well, it’s not like he was going to just drop her off somewhere, so it was decided: The cat was coming along.
He and the other guests were greeted by a boy in a British military suit that looked like something straight out of the ‘30s or ‘40s. The gala’s theme covered 1930 to 1960, so maybe it was meant to narrow the period down, but Wyatt thought not to dwell on it too long. He reminded himself that he was supposed to be playing a part in this. While he had plenty of experience as a liar, he had never been an actor, but maybe he could find a way to merge the two. Surely he’d studied people enough to use those mannerisms and whatnot to imitate a fictional person? We’ll see.
“Right then, soldier,” Wyatt greeted the boy in uniform with a nod. And upon, taking in his official salute and straight-backed posture, Wyatt teased playfully, “Lighten up, it’s a party,” a smirk on his lips.
Maybe he’d do just fine in this character. His ID card was folded in his back pocket as he stepped through the door, kitten in arms. Taking a look around, he saw the scene set on a conjured wall, they were in some suburban neighborhood. The freshly trimmed grass reminded him of something out of an American advertisement from the 1950s, but the homes were too worn to be considered that kind of picture-perfect. He saw a table set up with mocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and studied the drinks. He may not have noticed anything clearly off about them, but he wasn’t taking that chance.
He turned his head and saw a couple of familiar faces, speaking to one another. The older one, he’d seen in quidditch matches before and though he’d absolutely heard of her, whatever she was called escaped him in the moment. The younger must have been in his house or around his year. Neither of them he could name. Luckily, he didn’t have to know their real names here. Slowly, he made his way to where they were speaking. Perhaps he’d be able to learn a few things about the people here before everything went down. But his character didn’t know the stakes, so he was chill.
“The man in uniform keeping watch out front sure lends a casual feeling to the whole thing,” he chimed in, sarcastically. A younger girl he didn’t recognize approached, offering her name and a handshake. With one hand holding a cat and the other in a pocket, he didn’t intend to shake her hand letting someone else have that honor, but he shared his name. “Tony DeLuca, but the business card says ‘The Wrench’.” He was supposed to be a mechanic, but Wyatt didn’t know the first thing about fixing cars or muggle machinery. He hoped he wasn’t asked about it, but he reasoned it would hardly make good conversation anyway. Sorry, to all the mechanics out there.
Suddenly, he remembered he was holding a cat. Would it be against the rules to use her real name? Wyatt thought of one quickly, “This here’s Sally,” lifting her slightly. The jet-black kitten barely even registered the movement, her body staying limp as a ragdoll as her eyes curiously scanned the room. It was a short jump from Salami to Sally. You can’t blame Wyatt for thinking smarter, not harder.
Hanako Tone then approached, boisterous as ever, and announced himself as Vito Rossi to the girl in red who’d asked about wine. All Wyatt knew was that he did not like this Vito guy. He’d gotten his god damned car towed for parking in front of his bar. What a maniac. But Wyatt– or Tony, rather, didn’t want to show his hand too early. He gave Vito a once over, a nice look up and down before returning his focus to the group. Peripherally, though, he’d picked up on a new face he hadn’t seen enter.
He decided figuring out their deal would be more interesting than glaring at Vito for the next hour or so, so he made his way over. He decided he wouldn’t address them in front of the group. Maybe they were quiet for a reason. As he walked toward the silent stranger, he started, “Hey there, didn’t see you come in. Tony DeLuca,” he raised a hand to his chest in place of the missing I’m. “What’s your name again?”

Whispers of The Dark
Jack didn't think of himself as the most creative when it came to coming up with costumes or clothes within a theme. The noir film theme for this year's fall ball would have been especially difficult for him to find something to wear for except for the fact that he had been given a role in the game he had signed up for. That role had basically told him who he was supposed to be and therefore what would have been appropriate for him to wear for that time period of the 1930s or 1940s. For that he was extremely grateful.
Like many other young men trying to dress for the theme, he had a white button-up dress shirt and black tie. He also wore a fedora hat, a gun holster, high-rise pants, black dress shoes, and a trench coat over all of it. Upon entering the room, he noticed Prat first and recognized him from that summer's camp. Smirking, he walked by with his hands tucked into his trench coat pockets, commenting, "At ease, soldier," and continued on his way. Further in, he recognized more people - many of them his peers from his year.
There was Koko Riddle who was older than him but looking lovely as usual. Another young lady who Jack had seen around the Slytherin rooms was familiar to him though he didn't think he had ever formally met her (Lucinia Thawin). There were a few other people the muggleborn was much more or perhaps even completely unfamiliar with...and then there were his dormmates, Hanako Tone and Wyatt Starkey, kitten-sitting his tagalong, Salami.
The Welsh youth was grateful to his fellow Slytherin students for watching over Salami since he had unfortunately seemed to grow more and more attached to the little furball by the day and couldn't bear anything bad happening to her - such as Mathias Pride. It was one of the reasons he tried to hold so few things, creatures, and people dear to him in the first place - so he couldn't lose them. But, naturally, shit happened whether you wanted it to or not.
Taking out his card with his identity for the game written on it, Jack briefly skimmed the information there for what felt like the thousandth time before putting it back in his pocket and joining Hanako and Percifval. Hanako seemed to be telling someone his name was Vito Rossi, causing Jack to grin. The Japanese teen really seemed to be getting into his role, but the redhead was not surprised. Of course Hanako would jump on the chance to play someone other than himself, especially if he could use the chance to flirt as well. It was probably one of his favored ways of coping with his issues; playing the role of someone else. Jack had seen him do it at least once before when he had tried to portray a certain anime character at a tea party and had done so practically to perfection. It was almost scary how into his characters he could get.
But Jack wasn't about to let Hanako upstage him.
((will format when I get the chance))

Whispers of The Dark
This just in : In a chilling turn of events that have left residents of our once-peaceful town on edge, with the latest ttring of unexplained blackouts have seemed to coincide with the emergence of a new and particularly heinous criminal. The latest victim of the shadowy figure stalking the streets is Vito Rossi who was found deadthly scared after the attempt on his life during the power outage. The attack thankfully resulted in no injuries as the killer missed his shot.
According to the distressed 911 call made by Vito , Vito was found running away from the premise before coming across the police department as he desperately tried to crawl away from the place of attack. The detective from the Police Department arrived swiftly on the scene but reportedly found no trace of the perpetrator. The lack of evidence in addition to the chaos of the ongoing blackout, has seemingly made it harder for the authorities to piece together the events following the attack.
The mysterious blackout, which has since been deemed a result of the state's overwhelmed power grid, seems to have provided the perfect cover for the new freak serial killer in town. However The town's law enforcement is working tirelessly to restore a semblance of order, those actions being increasing patrols and urging all our residents to stay indoors after dark. The community however remains in a state of heightened fear.
Vito is safe as has seemingly had no effects on his psyche since the attack.Information Section: Please ReadReducioInformation

ReducioOrder of Mod Post and of What Order it is in:
1. Blackout #1
-> Murderer Shot Accuracy: 1d100 [1-49, miss. 50-100, hit]
-> Murderer Body Part Hit: 1d6 [1 - Left Arm, 2- Left Leg, 3- Right Arm, 4- Right Leg, 5- Torso/Chest, 6- Head]
2. Lights On [this is so that they see that the victim is shot and allows the doctor to see who they're healing if they can.]
3. Blackout #2
-> Doctor Healing: 1d100 [1-49, failed to heal. 50-100, successfully healed but amputated the limb]
--> Additional notice re healing: If the torso or head is shot, the victim cannot be healed. This is simply skipped if the torso or head was shot. If a limb [right leg/arm, left leg/arm] was shot and the doctor successfully healed you, then you are amputated. If they failed to heal you and you were shot anywhere on your body, you are dead.
4. Lights On
5. Accusation/Execution Time
--> Additional notice re Accusation/Execution: If a person is accused via majority, they are eliminated from the game. If there is a TIE, the people accused remain in the game for another round.Rolls [if any]

· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·Once others began to enter the room, Koko found it much easier to fill her role. The polite shopkeeper Maria Romano, generally pleasant aside from a deep, deep grudge.
'Some party, indeed,' she said lightly to the girl who, here, embodied some unknown role (Lucinia). 'I'm Maria. It's a pleasure to see you today.' Yes, this politeness was easy. 'I do anticipate things will get... interesting, at least soon..' Well, she could hope. But as Maria, that was the truth.
A much younger girl (Jessamine) entered, and Koko Maria raised a hand in greeting. She made no comment in response to the wine quip, at least not initially. However, when the newcomer introduced herself as Alessio, Maria's expression soured. 'For good wine, you've got to pay up. Alas...' Despite her generally-pleasant nature, a hint of sarcasm or even disdain would be evident within her words for anyone who cared to look. She was a shopkeeper. What point was there in being a closed book?
She would shake Alessio's hand – instead of it being the firm, confident handshake that Koko would have given, it was limp, almost disinterested, one that she quickly pulled her gloved hand away from as the next person (Zophyr) entered the room.
Koko didn't recognise this person, but that didn't mean Maria wouldn't. She raised her hand, the hand that had given Alessio the horrible handshake, and waved it politely.
'Another new friend, indeed,' Maria said to Vito (Hanako) when he arrived. 'This is a party, after all. Come on, let's... talk. I, for one, would love to hear what you've all been up to. Even Maria Romano gets curious sometimes.' She laughed warmly, gently, bubbly, conjuring all of the extroversion she could.
When glancing at Tony's cat, Maria smiled fondly. 'Ah, Sally, she's cute. I'm glad I'm not allergic.'
Koko wanted to clamp her mouth shut after how awkward she felt after that, but to remain in the role of Maria, she continued to wave as people closer to her age (Jack & Wyatt) continued to enter. Her cheeks were tinged pink from the effort and embarrassment of having to speak so much.
Thankfully for Koko, the game started shortly after that, ending her immediate need to create potentially-awkward small talk. The lights went out, and chaos, supposedly, ensued. Once the lights were back on, Koko-Maria was surprised to see everyone still alive and well.
Her heart was not, in fact, pounding in her chest. She was fine. Besides, it was apparently Vito who the bullet was near, who had been attacked.
Maria glanced around the room, eyes wide, searching for any 'tell' – anything she could use to discern who would possibly commit such a heinous crime like murder. 'After that, I'm not sure how many more parties we'll be having,' Maria said with a small laugh. 'Although, I have to say, a party during the day just isn't the same as one in the evening.' Turning to Vito, she raised her eyebrows in concern. 'You are okay, of course? I would hate to lose our finest mixer to madness, after all.'
There was something more important, though. 'That killer could target any of us if they're willing to go after poor Vito here. And next time, they might just succeed. I didn't see anything, so I'll get us started: what do all of you know about each other? Who here do you think is capable of murder?'· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·
