“While Amelia may claim she's a kind, loving and understanding person, that is not entirely true.

She's quite self centered and selfish, even if it's not very visible; she wouldn't notice or understand things that aren't for her, since her focus would be on herself. While she may help others every now and then, she wouldn't do that if she didn't benefit from it, even if unconsciously.

She can get quite excited over simple things, while also crying over similar things— which she does often; she cries a lot. When she cries, though, it's mostly out of frustration or exhaustion rather than out of sadness.

She has a short temper, and can get mean when she's upset. However, that might end with tears.

Being shy isn't something she's unfamiliar with— when meeting new people, visiting new places, etc., she can be shy, unless she has someone or something she's confident in next to her, to make her feel less lonely. She's eager to experience special moments in life, though, so every shyness whatsoever can disappear quickly.

Even though she's observant , Amelia is often oblivious and misses hints and things that happen beneath the surface, including understanding subtext.

She's no good at keeping secrets of her own, but anyone else's secret will be safe in her hands. She's terrible at remembering names, and struggled with that the most at the beginning of first year, when she had new names all around. Nicknames are easier for her, though, and as time passes, she'll learn to cope with it.

Flying is one of her current(first year) passions, even though flying during her favourite season—winter— may prove difficult.

Moreover, ever since she was sorted into Slytherin, she has adopted it as a part of her personality. She wears green and silver, she likes green and silver, she decorates everything with the colours and symbol of her house. ”

“Amelia has medium dark skin, with wavy black hair that reaches her elbows. Her nose is a bit big in proportion to her face, but not unusually so. That nose sits above small lips that, despite their size, can become a huge smile. When she smiles and laughs, her eyes squint a little, making it hard to decide whether her eyes are green or grey; they're in fact green, but often seem grey.

Her height is a bit under the average for a 12-year-old, standing around 145 cm at the moment. Her facial features are soft, not quite defined yet, and her body still has a bit of childhood fat left.
She has earrings, one per ear, since childhood. Since her Sorting, she has started wearing silver jewelry only, and her clothes colours represent her house quite often. Aside from that, there's always a hair tie on her left wrist, where she wears no watch.

Her voice is childish, and gets slightly higher when she's stressed or upset. When she speaks, she does so clearly in a defiant, audible voice, unless she feels unconfident.”

Amelia is a halfblood. Her mother, Thalia, is a witch. Thalia is not pureblood— Her father(Amelia's grandfather) is a half blood as well, although her mother(Amelia's grandmother) is a pureblood. On the other hand, Amelia's father, Oliver, comes from an entirely muggle family. Amelia's mum works in press as an editor for (wizarding) newspapers.

Ever since Amelia's magic was revealed, her father tutored her at home, and sometimes left her in her grandma's(Thalia's mother) care, to study about the magical world. Thalia's mother, Anastasia, often took Amelia to magical places, such as Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, and even to see magical creatures. That way, Amelia had learned both about muggle history, math, and other muggle subjects, as well as magical subjects.

Before the home-schooling, Amelia was only in kindergarten, so she never went to a muggle school(or any school) before Hogwarts. So after discovering her magic, she mostly had her family for company, including Celia, her younger sister that hasn't shown any magical abilities yet. Due to the lack of magic(for now!), Celia isn't aware of her sister's abilities, just as Amelia wasn't aware of the rest of her family's secrets.

Another change in Amelia's life after using magic, was her mother's attitude towards her. Her mother became a bit obsessed— she wants Amelia to have the best and be the best, and demands a lot of her. She does love her though, and she shows it, in her own unique way. Her father was excited too, but hasn't changed his attitude as much as her mother.

Due to her homeschooling, Amelia didn't have many friends her own age. There were always the neighbors, cousins, and friends of her family, But not many regular, close friends her age.

Amelia comes from a family that doesn't talk much about money; they have enough for their needs, or as her parents say, 'we're comfortable'. They're also non-believers, but they do take vacations during the holidays. The maternal grandma comes to visit quite often, and even has her own room at their house.”

“At the age of five, Amelia had shown her first sign of magical abilities.

She was helping her dad with house chores (which could be done with magic, but her parents preferred teaching the kids discipline through responsibilities). She was washing and drying the dishes, and as she transferred a few plates to their place in the cabinet, they slipped from her hands. She was scared, as yesterday her little sister had broken a glass during mealtime, and her dad was upset. Because of that, they cleaned the living room floor all day, until the arrival of her mum, who sent her sister to her room.

But this time, although it was a high fall for the plates(she was standing on a chair to reach the cabinet), they stayed intact even as they bounced around on the floor and rolled in different directions. Her father noticed, and cheered for her.

She was quite confused, but glad nothing bad had happened, so she just went with his celebrating, and danced with him in the kitchen, laughing and giggling.”
