As the room was adjourned with an erected wall that Noah cast (Structure Building Charm), he put up a picture of a muggle suburbish town, as there were houses in the background. The streets had a few pebbles and a random pothole in the street. The grass was nearly trimmed and kept up, the houses looked a bit beat up on the offhand. He put a pot with a tree in it directly in the center of the room so there was at least some live greenery in the approximate area.

The next thing Prat and Noah did was set up a small table that had a non-alcoholic spicy margarita and a platter of hors d'oeuvre. It was nothing too extravagant but he wanted to try and ensure that the scene came to life in some way.

In September, Noah had asked his fathers for a nerf gun, something he couldn’t bear to ask his muggle neighbor Mario for, and his fathers sent him one via owl. It was a Colt M1911 and it had foam bullets and he wanted to use that for the game tonight. OC godmod: Noah and Prat met with a [faceless] npc of sixth year and they obliged his request to cast the Silencing Charm on the gun so that when it fired it was silent.

Now, Noah and Prat made identification cards for his groups. He also made invitations with the information about their characters as well as their secrets and grudges and how they know one another. He sent everyone who signed up an owl and the murderer got the nerf gun along with their ID card and their invitations and character information. They were instructed to try to conceal the gun in their invitation because otherwise it would be pretty obvious that he were the murderer.

When it was time for the game to begin, he stood there in his World War Two British Military suit saluting each person who came in. "Come in sirs and madams."

Notice
Every mod post, you will notice that the light goes out every time there is a murder. The light stays out for 1 minute to allow the murderer to conceal the weapon in some way and to avoid suspicion. When the light goes out, you'll hear a bang from the nerf gun and if you feel yourself getting shot with a foam bullet, you have been killed. You may lay down on the ground and play dead. You may find a funny pose to be in, whatever. When the light goes back on, a vote will be held to accuse someone of the murder.

I've been accused of a murder! What do I do?
Well dearie, you would've been considered "executed" if the majority votes you as murderer. This means that you are out. The game is over when all of the players are dead except for the detective and murderer, or when the murderer has been accused and executed.

How do I vote?
Every round, you need to send me an owl of who you're voting or accusing. Additionally you MUST post otherwise your vote will be seen as invalid.

I did not post for a round or more, what happens? (if you don't send me your vote but post, it's okay, don't worry about it.)
The murderer will likely kill you the next round.

I'm the murderer! What happens now?
Post each round. Send me your target via owl. In Character, when the lights go out, you can pull out your nerf gun and shoot your target. You will have the rest of the minute to hide the gun or conceal it.

I'm the detective! What happens now?
Post each round. Send me your accused victim via owl. You cannot be killed.

I'm a doctor! What happens now?
Post each round. Send me your accused victim via owl. There will be a second blackout in the mod post in where you will have a CHANCE of healing the shot victim.

I was a shot victim! I was healed!
Good for you, you may continue in the game. However, one of your limbs have been ic AMPUTATED so in roleplay, you would not have that limb because the doctor amputated the shot limb.

What if I have to leave Out of Character and I'm the Murderer or a Doctor or a Detective?
That's fine, just please notify us at some point. We will owl another person and give them an additional "title" for their character that they are already playing. For example: Baker is now Murderer but still the same character, you don't gain another. When it comes to a detective and a doctor, unfortunately, we won't pass it on. The game continues until its over.

Please note: We are taking actions via owl so that actions and votes are anonymous to keep the mystery. What you choose to say or do in your post whether ooc or ic can be used against you so do your best to keep your "secret" role anonymous. If you are a detective or a murderer it can be used against you if you say it out loud. We suggest coming up with an undercover job to conceal the fact. Not required, you could be vague, but what you say and do whether oc or ic can be used against you.

Order of Mod Post and of What Order it is in:
1. Blackout #1
-> Murderer Shot Accuracy: 1d100 [1-49, miss. 50-100, hit]
-> Murderer Body Part Hit: 1d6 [1 - Left Arm, 2- Left Leg, 3- Right Arm, 4- Right Leg, 5- Torso/Chest, 6- Head]
2. Lights On [this is so that they see that the victim is shot and allows the doctor to see who they're healing if they can.]
3. Blackout #2
-> Doctor Healing: 1d100 [1-49, failed to heal. 50-100, successfully healed but amputated the limb]
--> Additional notice re healing: If the torso or head is shot, the victim cannot be healed. This is simply skipped if the torso or head was shot. If a limb [right leg/arm, left leg/arm] was shot and the doctor successfully healed you, then you are amputated. If they failed to heal you and you were shot anywhere on your body, you are dead.
4. Lights On
5. Accusation/Execution Time
--> Additional notice re Accusation/Execution: If a person is accused via majority, they are eliminated from the game. If there is a TIE, the people accused remain in the game for another round.

| The recent strikes at Hogsmeade lingered in Mamori's thoughts as he made his way through the castle's corridors. He'd been worried after reading about it in the Daily Prophet, but a passing conversation with an older Hufflepuff had brought some relief — apparently many students from the visiting schools had recovered enough to attend tonight's ball.

Not that he'd be joining the main festivities anyway. His first Hogwarts ball, and here he was, heading to an alternative event because none of his friends were available for a proper evening at the Great Hall. Some were buried in their studies, others had simply shrugged off the whole affair, and a few lucky ones had already paired up with dates weeks ago. Going stag seemed more embarrassing than skipping it entirely, so when he'd heard about the murder mystery game, it felt like fate.

His pink hair, as always, stood out against his autumn ball attire — a black jacket with loose-fitting cuffed trousers, paired with a plain black button-up shirt and a newsboy cap. A simple paperboy outfit that fit the season, even if his evening held different plans than most.

As he entered the room, Mamori was greeted by a boy in what appeared to be some sort of historical military uniform. "Come in sirs and madams," the boy announced with a crisp salute.

"That's a brilliant uniform," Mamori commented, admiring the neat and official-looking attire. Looking around, he realized he was the first to arrive. The room had been magically transformed, with pictures of a Muggle town showing beat-up houses in the background. The scene included pebbled streets with a pothole, and a potted tree placed in the center of the room. A small table nearby offered refreshments — some kind of specialty drink and appetizers.

Trying to appear nonchalant despite being first, Mamori helped himself to one of the non-alcoholic spicy margaritas and settled into a chair. "Sofia Manici, local baker," he whispered to himself, testing how the name felt on his tongue. "Sofia Manici, local baker... Sofia Manici, local baker." He took a sip of his drink, hoping the repetition would help him settle into his role for the evening.

So far, the Halloween festivities had been mediocre at best. But Maisie had hope that this whole Whispers in the Dark thing would be an improvement. After all, at its core it was a game. Who didn't like games? She took out a note where she'd written down for role, read it and returned it to her pocket.

The room itself was pretty convincing: a quaint muggle village. Maisie was unsure if she'd ever actually been in one, but this seemed very close to what she might imagine it would be like. Her eyes looked up and around at the houses and greenery.

Eventually, she saw another student dressed in a muggle uniform who welcomed her. "Thanks," she said as she passed through.

Soon, she saw one other student in their group, whom she didn't know. He'd gone over to where the refreshments were. Not one to waste a perfectly good non-alcoholic margarita, Maisie walked over in his direction. As she approached, she couldn't help but overhear him muttering to himself. "So, you're the baker," she said, extending a hand, "I'm the mixer." She took a sip of the margarita. "I guess 'I' did a good job with these, ha. What do you think?" No harm with small talk before this all got started.

| Mamori lifted the margarita for another sip, the initial zesty brightness dancing pleasantly on his tongue. Just as he opened his mouth to respond to the mixer's introduction, the spice ambushed him — a burning sensation that set his throat aflame. Having inherited his father's particularly low tolerance for anything spicy, the intensity hit him harder than most would experience. His eyes watered as he broke into a coughing fit, hair falling over his face.

"Merlin's unmatched socks," he managed between violent coughs, whole body shaking with each spasm as tears formed in his eyes, "th — cough — this is lethal! Now I'm — cough — suspicious 'you' might be our killer — sneaking up on victims with deceptively refreshing drinks that turn into liquid dragon's breath!" He cleared his throat repeatedly, giving the margarita glass a suspicious look.

Taking a moment to compose himself, he adjusted his newsboy cap that had gone slightly askew during his coughing fit. Well, at least he was making a memorable first impression, even if it wasn't quite how he'd planned to start the evening.

"I suppose I should properly introduce myself, though," he continued, managing a small smile despite the lingering burn that made him wish he'd inherited his mother's spice tolerance instead. "Mamori Anezaki, playing Sofia Manici, your friendly neighborhood baker. By the taste of this drink, I'd better stay in my bakery where things can't attack my throat."

The time of the year was nearing Halloween again, and Eonaria wasn’t quite sure how to feel about it. On one hand, candy. On the other… well, it just felt like the perfect time to get jumpscared into hiding under the covers for the next week. She wasn’t very sure what Hogwarts did for Halloween, a topic that had never occurred to her. Eonaria also didn’t want to do anything particularly strenuous, yet she knew should at least do something to really put herself out there and make some friends. Like a Gryffindor. Please. Eonaria grimaced.

She paused in the corrider when she saw a notice displaying a game called “Whispers of the Dark.” Her interest piqued, she leaned in closer for a better look. A game where there is a killer and you have to figure out who it is..? A bit too spooky for her taste, but it’s not like Hogwarts would let students die for something as silly as a game. And it sounded interesting enough…

Eonaria turned and started heading in the opposite direction, making her way to the Small Hall. When she arrived, she saw a boy wearing a military suit, greeting people. That only heightened her nervousness as she shuffled awkwardly through the door after a small “Hello.”

When she went inside, Eonaria saw two other people inside already. One of them, a Hufflepuff, was drinking… well, it looked pretty alcoholic to her, despite the non-alcoholic notice. But hey, they definitely wouldn’t give real margaritas to barely developed teenagers… anywho. The setting of the room was quite interesting; It vaguely resembled, uh, German architecture? She wasn't very sure where she got that impression from, but structure of the outer walls looked a bit familiar...

Eonaria approached the other participants with a small smile, hoping not to come off as too awkward. That would be a terrible first impression. But just then, one of them took a sip of the non-alcoholic margarita and began coughing violently. Eonaria nearly jumped at the sudden sound. Surely the margaritas couldn't be that bad...? "U-um, hello." She smiled nervously.

Aurélie walked with Peter from Hogwarts' great hall, where the ball's main events were taking place, to the small hall, where the murder mystery roleplay game was taking place. She had no idea how the game would work, how she'd act when she was pretty sure she was a terrible, terrible actor-- but she was beyond excited anyways. Who wouldn't be for a murder mystery game?

Thankfully, Peter and her had been placed in the same game group. Usually, she wouldn't mind being in a place with no one she knew-- more opportunity to make new friends, as she always said-- but something about separating from her date now didn't feel right. She smiled coyly at the Welsh boy. "I'm not going to tell you my role, don't worry." She winked.

Obviously, she didn't think that he was the in-game murderer, but maybe that was what the boy wanted her to think? Maybe she was reading too much into this game that hadn't even began yet. She let out a breath, her smile instantly back on her face. She couldn't figure out how to turn the thing off ever since today began. And now, having Peter by her side did nothing to soften her brilliant smile. But she'd have to stop being Aurélie for this game...

Yolanda traveled over to the Small Hall to play the fun ‘Mystery Murder’ game that had piqued her interest. This was going to be intriguing, the young girl thought to herself. She wasn’t quite sure how to play or what to do; as a fresh eyed First Year, it all seemed very daunting.

Yolanda only recognized the leaders a tiny bit Prat and Noah, and no one else, but she thought it was still going to be a lot of fun.

Introducing himself to her in a WorldWar2 Military uniform he said to her as she entered, “Come in sirs and madams.”

“Hello, thank you.” Yolanda replied politely as she entered the room. Glad someone had said something friendly, putting on her identification card - “Maria Romano, Shopkeeper”.

Observing everyone, she took in the room; trying to look at people without staring at them with total suspicion. It was difficult.

Yolanda was envisioning how Maria Romano was to be. It was time to get ready for the game and get in character – she thought to herself. But she was also open to being friendly and talk to whoever wished it.

Yolanda walked over and grabbed some hor d’oeuvres so she would have something to do while she took a glance around. Even though she was pretty nervous she also believed this was going to be super cool.

It wasn’t often that Avery found the time to sign up for ball events, between quidditch, violin practice, and whatever homework he was behind on, but games have been piquing his interest as of late. Perhaps it was that little bit of daredevil curiosity within him that reared its head and tried to pull some life back into his school terms.

Prat Pass - that boy was everywhere these days. He’d give his housemate acquaintance a nod and a “Hey, thanks for organizing! Bet this will be as fun as the last one,” as the younger boy and his partner Noah Jupe welcomed them inside. The last one was an unspeakable game involving rocks, which was a blast, to be honest.

Avery swiped an orange drink from the table, looking overly casual in an olive sweatshirt, black jeans, and black baseball cap for a ball event. He took a large gulp and almost coughed it up, choking a bit as he swallowed. “Man, I thought it was orange juice,” he sputtered, before washing it down with another mouthful, mentally prepared this time for the heat that hit his throat. “And to think I grew up eating spicy food,” he muttered. “How are the rest of you stomaching this?” he asked briefly, surveying the group that had arrived before him. Maybe most of them had been smart to avoid it.

These ball drinks, always something sus about them. But he would never learn.

Peter walked in with a bit of pep to his step as he walked with Aurélie. They were in the same group, and Peter was happy, quite happy. He smiled teasingly at Aurélie, as the French girl had beamed coyly at the Welsh boy. “Ahh. Roles, huh? No more Aurélie?” He made a pouty face, as he waited for the girl to retaliate. He loved teasing Aurélie. It was so fun, that he wondered of it hurt Aurélie as he could say that. But what of it did? He had no desire to hurt her, nor neither anyone else hurt her.

Peter saw a few people choking down spicy foods and drinks, and choking. He didn’t know if he wanted to eat the spicy foods or the spicy drinks. Maybe if he was more brave. More brave seemed to be working sometimes. But sometimes it doesn’t even as a super brave dragon in a boy’s nationality, still didn’t he was brave. Being brave makes you more reckless. He didn’t need to be any more reckless. Trust me.

This is gonna be fun. With Aurélie with me, and a fun game. Nobody is from Beauxbatons, at least I don’t think. Shush... Peter thought as he looked beyond the Small Hall. Breathing in and out, Peter looked at the table full of food and drinks. He was thirsty. It didn’t look like the game wss to start any time so soon so... Once Peter caught Aurélie ’s eyes again, he asked, “You hungry, Aurélie? ” Maybe they could have some refreshments before the game starts.

Thick steps entered the corridor towards the small hall hosting such an interesting event. While this was his first ball, the boy didn't exactly seek or planned to create relationships or have a love life. The shame around his giant-blood within his family gave the boy a slight issue in self-esteem, but it also provoked the rage to prove everyone wrong as well. Lucian primarily came to understand what it's like to interact with so many other students. Even if his height was abnormal for his age, he wasn't going to reveal his giant-heritage like how he wasn't going to plan revealing his role in this game unless necessary. This was a game of mystery, deceit, and trust. Personally, Lucian held truth, trust, and justice above almost everything. Lies were a disgusting weapon he despised despite having to use it himself to hide his true nature. His only excuse to lie in this game was he wasn't Lucian Allum, he was someone else entirely. A new personality, a new name. Luckily Lucian's new character had rather similar morals as he himself, so he didn't have to act too differently. Afterall, Lucian's acting skills were rather... horrendous at some moments.

He entered, providing a quiet thank you for the greeting. Wearing a light brown colored trench coat and black bowl hat for the fun mystery and ball, he was prepared to face whatever the other players were going to do. While he usually preferred being the quiet tall giant who seemed shy but really didn't want to socialize, he felt he needed to communicate to survive to the end. In a game like this, there were two things that mattered. One of them was to have the "majority vote." Those isolated, alone, without the power of others were bound to lose in a game like this. Odd though, as Lucian never exactly understood the strength of friendship or togetherness. In his opinion, people should be able to support themselves. Afterall, you can't make friends if your not willing to fight, willing to win and do your best.

He saw a rather odd boy, short, hyper, and... honestly reckless. Lucian gave a bit disapproving look as he witnessed the boy drink one of the beverages and provide such a reaction calling it orange juice. Afterall, you never know if certain drinks are poisoned by killers or hunters. Lucian approached, looking down on his upper-classman. Would he be mistaken for an upper-year from another school? Perhaps. That wasn't the concern at the moment. He just needed to start some connections, Lucian grabbed a drink himself, peeking over at the other people at the table, familiar with one certain Ravenclaw girl. Lucian drank an entire glass of the spicy concoction. He himself didn't have an issue with foods or drinks. Perhaps it was genetic, but he wasn't a picky eater by any means: "Spicy, but not too concerning." The words left his mouth as he loomed over his fellow first years and upper-year.
