Sereia took it as a sign that, with the amount of theft and property damage that was happening to her classroom, it was finally time to make the space her own. She'd thought about it when the year started and had ideas for decorations, but with the whirlwind of settling back into the space and a brand new year of students, she hadn't had the time to put it all into motion. Now that a month had passed, things had slowed down enough to finally follow it through.
Of course, that meant also tidying up her desk properly. Organised chaos or not, a new year meant a clean slate. The things in her office were personal, however, so she asked the staff if they could supervise the students cleaning her room while she was upstairs. Never in a million years would she let these kids snoop through her stuff, no thank you. Thankfully, @Melisande Lennox and @Ruckus Weems offered their help.
When they entered, Sereia offered them a smile. "Can I get you guys anything to drink while you're up here? I keep a hot water thermos and some coffee or tea bags if you want."
Sereia set out her tarot decks by one of the tables near the chalkboard, each with a bright yellow post-it note of which cards were missing*. Normally, she was vigilant about losing things, but these were the ones that were usually handed out during practical lessons; cards were bound to go missing. One of the standard Rider-Waite decks was missing two of the Wands cards, a Sword, and The World. The other one was missing The Lovers, Judgement, three of the Wands cards, and two of the Pentacles cards. The nicer Wyspell deck was missing half of a suit of Pentacles, The Fool, and a Cup, much to her disappointment. How could someone lose half a suit?
Now that the important details had been laid out, she hoped the students wouldn't cause any extra mess. Today was for cleaning, after all.

Prat heard rumors about an errand from the divination Professor. Going by his calculated assumption it was definitely not about the stolen curtains but perhaps it was related to the class room. Too many of the students had now made breaking into that classroom in the pitch black darkness and vandalizing that room. Tch Tch no respect for the subject Prat thought to himself as he was about to make his way to the very classroom. He halted his movements as he realised this white shirt and black trousers were not going to do him any favours nor were his other accessories that were sure to catch dust and be hard to clean.
Going back to the dorms and finding himself a seemingly common looking tshirt and a pair of slacks with some sport shoes he found in a muggle store during his holidays travel with his group of friends.
Such weird fashion that he did not believe would ever be of use to him and chose to discard to a corner of his closet as mere storage occupying commodity.
Getting back from the dorms Prat once again made his way towards the room. He hadn't been here since the fateful day of the grand heist where He and another snake, Cass ransacked the room in broad nightlight and made off with the curtains. Stepping inside the familiar room Prat saw the Professor for HOM and the caretaker already present. Giving them a nod he began getting ready to do whatever work he could we the least effort and skedaddle on his way. Seeing the curtains and how they need to be folded, that was the auspicious work he assigned to himself.
Folding the curtains. Indeed this was the perfect full circle-moment he had not anticipated for himself. With a comically large grin that he was failing to hide, Prat slipped into day dream about that day when he sneaked inside like a snake on roller skates. Grabbed those curtains in a quick precise hurry and made his perfect exist. If the muggle actor "Tom Cruise" ever ran out of plots for his movie they could almost remake Prat's escapade 1:1 and have a money maker in their hand.
Smiling to himself more so on the fact that they never got caught he continued folding those curtains, noticing their pattern while wondering if they'd be a nice fit for another round of skyfall should they choose to set one up for another year.

Springing into Cleaning with @Sereia Clairmont
Mentioning: @Scout Fu-Hai and @Prat Pass
Speech: #cfa120
Thoughts: Italics
Emily was in dire need of something to do. Something that didn't involve homework. Something that didn't involve her "independent project." Something that she could do that didn't require too much effort. She just wanted something calm and therapeutic to do, honestly. Cleaning happened to be one of those activities to guarantee that. So when Professor Clairmont announced she needed a few volunteers for a little spick-and-spanning around her classroom... To say it was the chance Emily was looking for was an understatement. It would kill some time before she would go and see Scout, if anything.
She arrived at the classroom and blinked to register how gentle and relaxing it already felt just by standing in it, even if it still needed a bit of tidying up. She perused the list of tasks Professor Clairmont had laid out for the students to work their way through. Emily's eyes fell on some alleged missing tarot cards.
Ohh!
Emily was partial to the odd divination herself, though hers dealt with a little more beyond the conventional "foretelling the future." Her own deck delved into the duality of every human being, her cards representing deep, dark and dangerous creatures with hidden messages behind their respective stories. She always believed that someone's "dark side" could aid them in some way. Not everything even had to be "dark" either and her tarot deck exemplified that notion in its cards. Every card, no matter the deck, had meaning. If Professor Clairmont ever had the time, Emily would be humbled and eager to discuss them with her, perhaps even get an insight on what Divination looked like at a glance when taught in a classroom. Though something told her she would be waiting longer for that chance considering her Second Year routine kept her busy enough. She couldn't imagine the routine of that of a teacher.
Speaking of waiting, Emily stopped gawking at the list of tasks and got to work roaming around the room looking for the teacher's missing tarot cards. She referred back to the post-it notes regularly on the chalkboard and the decks laid out nearby to right on what to look for. She recognised Prat from her year already getting to work on folding the curtains, seemingly content in his headspace.
Meanwhile, Emily got on her hands and knees as she examined under the tables and along the floors for the missing cards.

not quite spring cleaning • threadIt was within Ophelia's nature to help those in need, whether it be offering a steadying arm for a fallen friend or helping a professor tidy up their office. After all, the girl's first name did mean "to aid." Today's good deed was going to be the latter of
the two, as Professor Clairmont, the divination professor had called for a few volunteers for some early not-really-spring cleaning.
Divination was a subject that called to Ophelia. Not in the way that Care of Magical Creatures, or even just the thought of magical healing did. No, divination just seemed interesting, and with the girl's strong, and extremely, specific beliefs in Fate and Destiny, it was sure to be something that the Ravenclaw would look into. Perhaps she'd speak to the professor at some point, asking a few details about the syllabus, or perhaps she'd just wait until she was allowed to take the subject and ponder on it then. But today would be a good chance for her to take a peek at the classroom.
When Ophelia entered the Divination room, her eyes first went to the board, where several tasks were listed. She was to write her name next to the one that she chose. Unlike most of the other errands that the Ravenclaw had participated in during her time at Hogwarts, this one was probably the least "for fun" and the most to actually help someone. Walking closer to the board, Ophelia realised that she recognised one of the two names already written up there. Emily's here?
Ophelia looked around, dubious. She hadn't spotted anyone except the boy who was folding curtains. When she did a double take of the room, however, the Ravenclaw found that she'd missed that Emily was on her hands and knees on the floor, presumably looking for tarot cards.
Quickly grabbing a writing utensil, Ophelia wrote her name on the board next to Emily's. She could make cleaning a bit fun if she did it with a friend next to her. Going up to the Hufflepuff and joining her in the crouched position, Ophelia ducked her head under the tables.
After picking one of them up and setting it on top of the table, Ophelia turned to Emily. "Hi, Emily! I didn't realise you were going to be here."

english ⋅ #58576b | greek ⋅ #1d2158Normally, most children her age wouldn't be too enthused by the idea of cleaning on a Saturday. Much less an old dusty space like the Divination classroom. Grander sights to explore, mischief to be caused. Of course, the latter not anything kept on her agenda, something she'd merely picked up in passing amongst her peers. Come to think of it, one could only assume such students were the reason for Professor Clairmont's need for extra hands in the first place.
Fortunately, Iris was quite fond in the art of organization.
She'd arrived fitted in a simple black top, paired with beige slacks that served as the dressiest element in its ensemble. Gold jewelry hung from her neck in a stack, alongside delicate gilded earrings. Arguably a bit sophisticated for a task so mundane, a reason however not enough to halt the choice. She pushed the door forward gently, stepping inside only to be greeted with the scent of faint candle smoke. Though rather being met with the Divination instructor herself, instead stood the HoM Professor and Caretaker. It made sense, the need for students futile if the woman had her own time to do the cleaning. Drawing her eyes away from the staff members, a few other familiar faces scattered the room. Not enough to warrant a hello, however, leading Iris to stray quietly to a bookshelf after catching sight of the bright yellow notes.
What. A. Mess.
Textbooks and novels sorted in disarray, most fallen completely on their covers. Iris clicked her tongue softly, an obligatory response to the volumes poorly stacked, some nearly even slipping from their shelves. A painful sight. Unsure of where to begin, the bottom only felt logical. With a graceful crouch she moved her hands toward the lowest row, placing each book up again with their spines facing outward. Her fingertips brushed over the rough covers, some frayed and worn in from years of use, others still smooth and practically untouched. Each one deserved care as much as the last.
Somewhere along the way, the act eventually became mindless. Practiced hands shelving every book, each one satisfyingly clicking into neat lines. Conversation faintly dwindled behind her, quiet enough to go unnoticed. By the time she reached its final row, the passage of time had gone unregistered altogether. With the last text properly placed, Iris stood back and admired her work. It wasn't much, but it was done.WC: 404

Not Quite Spring Cleaning
October 5th, 2024 Divination“English” “Gaelic”
Upon hearing that the divination professor was doing a deep clean of her room, Alyss decided that she might as well show up. Helping out professors would help forge a good connection with them, and it would give Alyss a reason to put off her homework. Was the homework not actually that bad? Was Alyss just putting it off only to complete it last minute? Probably. But the lowest score she had gotten thus far was an A, and that was in flying. Perhaps she could afford to help out with a little cleaning.
Alyss hiked up the stairs of the north tower, making the decision not to comment on the workout of the north tower stairs as she stepped in the doorway. Glancing around, she paused to wave to the three adults in the room, presumably to oversee the cleaning provided by the students. One of them was the caretaker that had guided her- and the rest of the first years- to the castle for the first time. It took Alyss a moment to absorb that those events had happened just over a month ago. It felt as if time had just flown, still feeling like mid September.
The second professor was the History of Magic professor, someone Alyss had met during class, though had not gotten a good handle on who she was as a person. The last professor was one she had not actually really met, considering that divination was not a first year class. It was, however, the professors room she would be cleaning.
After letting a polite smile slip onto her face as she waved, Alyss turned to the chalkboard to gaze at the tasks set before herself and the other student volunteers.
The one that jumped out to her? Sweeping. Although it seemed like an annoying, repetitive task, Alyss was decently skilled at it, and it provided her with something to do while not having to think about it too hard. Sweeping was something that Alyss could do whilst listening to other conversations, daydreaming, or simply overthink.
Alyss picked up the chalk and scrawled in bigger, blocky letters: Alyss Gilmour.
Snagging a broom, Alyss began sweeping, unearthing the wooden floors beneath a layer of dirt and dust. She started forming piles in corners, trying to sweep around books and other objects to sweep under later, after others had picked them up. Of course, It was within Alyss’ power to pick them up and place them on a table elsewhere. But Alyss lived by the mentality that she would not do more work than she had to unless it would directly benefit her.
She was starting to wonder how on earth this room had ended up in such a condition, considering the piles of stuff and the abundance of missing tarot cards based on all the sticky notes. And folding curtains? Why weren’t they hung up in the first place? What had occurred? She hadn’t considered the possibility that students like she may have hand a.. heavy hand in the state of disarray the room was in.

& @Sereia Clairmont mentioning: @Alyss GilmourSomething Scout figured most wouldn't know about her is that she loves cleaning. While it obviously wasn't her most favorite activity (especially the tasks that kept her sitting), she liked the calmness of sweeping a broom or washing down a table with a rag. When she had gotten detention the year before (for joining in on a food fight, no less), it hadn't felt anything like punishment. She sat quietly on her own cleaning, finding great fun in running around the tables with a rag or mopping the floor.
When she had heard about some professor needing help cleaning their classroom, Scout jumped at the idea. A relaxing afternoon with some sweeping and organizing- that'd be helpful in taking the edge off of these past few weeks. A change in pace, Scout figured she couldn't be sad when she was doing something she liked! That's how it's always been, anyway. Climbing trees were preferable when she was younger, it was hard to contemplate when you were trying to figure out which branch could hold your weight.
"Emily, Ophelia! Hey!"
She smiled and waved, running to her friends. It was kind of surprising, did they like cleaning as much as she did? Scout could see Emily enjoying it, but maybe not Ophelia- Scout thought that Ophelia was too pretty to be doing something like cleaning. Especially being on the floor the way she was. Maybe her opinion was swayed because of that conversation in the bathroom.
After a smile to Ophelia and a hug to Emily, Scout's eyes wandered to the board, mentally checking off all the tasks she did and didn't want to do. Looking for tarot cards was probably the most stimulating activity, but man... Scout loved sweeping. It was fun! Floors always looked nicer after they had been swept and mopped. But that begs the question, why hadn't the Divination professor used magic to clean up such a mess? Maybe she was muggle-born, that would explain it. Her dad would do some things the muggle way over using magic, citing that it was more thorough or something.
He was kind of weird for that, Scout thinks.
"Hey Professor, why don't you use magic to clean some of this up?" Scout asked, grabbing one of the brooms after writing her name down next to another girl. 'Alyss Gilmour', what a pretty name! It sounded a whole lot fancier than Scout. She loved her parents but like... her whole name was Chinese except for her first? Bummer. "Is this stuff like super sensitive to magic or something?"
That was how it was in movies!

Task: throwing away rubbish around the room.
Poppy really had no reason to be here. She was a first year, so she didn’t have divination for a while, and there was no promise she would even have the current teacher. However, she was a sucker for chocolate frogs, and it would give her a better reputation with her house mates if she got them more house points. She also didn’t really mind cleaning. Ash much as she wished she had mastered enough charms to do this task in record time, she was still getting used to actually getting to be a part of the magic that was ever present in her life.
She walked up to the board and debated on which task to do. She didn’t really understand tarot cards, so she couldn’t do that, she wasn’t any good at sweeping so that was also a no. The young witch mentally crosses off a few more items before she realized the obvious choice, picking up rubbish. It was easy, and it requires no knowledge of the class she wouldn’t learn for another couple of years. She just had to pick up things from the floor and toss them into the bins. Perfect.
The young witch walked around the room picking up things ranging from scrap prices of parchment paper, and broken quills to broken glasses. How did those end up there? Who just tosses their glasses into a corner when they crack? How did some older year get their glasses in such a mess anyways? Poppy didn’t really want to know the answer to that last question. She simply tapped the glasses and casted oculus repairo , a spell she recently learned before placing the glasses on the teachers desk. Surely she would know what to do with them? Was their a lost and found at this school? Maybe she would just send out a mass owl?
After that interesting find it was just more scraps, broken quills, tea leaves, bad homework graves crumpled up into tight ball, and more mundane things. Maybe she should’ve chosen a more interesting task for the house point. This certainly wasn’t fun, she just had to finish, collect her reward and get out before they make her double up or something.
She picked up a few more mundane things to toss into the bin. Then she did a sweep over of the room to make sure there wasn’t anything she missed.
That’s when she realized there was trash inside the desk to dig out and place into the bin along with the stuff on the floor, and in the corners.
She was going to be here for a while wasn’t she?

Zach walked through the corridors, with mouth trying to whistle but no sound coming from him. How do people do that? Zach didn't know. He just kept trying until his lips felt numb, a sign for him to stop. His long walk eventually stopped. He was now standing in front of the door of Divination Classroom, one of the elective classes that he took. He entered the room and had already seen people inside. The cleaning activity has started.
Zach took a part initiatively. He saw the room from corner to corner, looking if there was something he could do with fun. Yes, it is an errand and he had to take it seriously. But why should he be serious if he can do it with fun? As long as he didn't make any further mess and actually helped, it was fine. That was what he thought.
His foxy eyes looked at the crystal balls. Most of them were dusty. “I could do that,” he said. He walked towards the crystal balls, looking for anything he could use to clean them. He kept looking until his wizardry brain gave him a better idea.
Zach giggled for some seconds before taking out his wand. “Scourgify.” He cast the Scouring Charm at one of the crystal balls.

Not Quite Spring Cleaning
Date : October 5th, 2024 Color code : Written|Thought|Said Another day of helping the Professors cleaning their classrooms. Sere really doesn't understand why there are students who left the classroom dirty, forcing the professors to be in such a troublesome situation. It is not that difficult to start maintaining cleanliness from your own self tho.
Okay, back to the topic. Today is the Divination Professor's turn to clean her classroom. Sere had never interacted directly with Professor Clairmont because Divination classes would only start in the third-year, but the Gryffindor girl had heard the Professor's name many times when the Professor had just entered Hogwarts. Back then, for several times Sere reflexively turned her head everytime she heard the students mentioned Professor Clairmont's name, thought that she was the one they talked about because of the similarity of hers and the Professor's first name. Along the time Sere knew that the students didn't talk about her, but about the georgeousness of the new Divination Professor.
As usual, Sere would never refuse to help on cleaning something. Seeing cleanliness and tidiness will make her mood lift up all day long. Sere entered the Divination classroom, and as she had expected, students were seen doing chores here and there. There were several students busy sweeping the floor, folding the curtain, while some others looking for something.... Huh? What are they looking for? While looking around to find out what the students were looking for, Sere also looked for something she could do, something she could clean.
She saw an untouched duster and some dusty shelves behind the classroom. Ah, I guess that's my part. Sere walked over to the shelves after taking the duster and a wet cloth along with the bucket. "Okay, let's get started."
Sere covered her nose and mouth with her left palm, while her right hand dusted off the shelves using the duster, she did it too hard until the dust flew everywhere around her. "Oh, Gosh... Ah-Choo!" Sere turned her face away and rubbed her nose, "The dust is thicker than I thought." She then continued her activities more slowly.
It didn't take long until she finished her part. Sere then took a wet cloth and wiped the outside of the shelves, removing the dust that was still stubbornly stuck, especially at the corners of the shelves. Afterwards, she put the cloth back into the bucket and fanned her face with her palm. Autumn felt as hot as summer because of the activity. However, Sere folded her arms and nodded in satisfaction, "Done!"
The girl returned the duster and cloth to its original places, then walked towards the entrance. Once again she saw the students who still seemed busy looking for something. She made her leave while wondering... What are they looking for, actually?Action : Dust down the shelves
