Picking the bumpy path had been an awesome choice. They desperately clung to the sled as it hurtled through the air every time it hit a bump, picking up speed as they went. It was very possible that they were going to have some problems stopping this thing when they reached the finish line. Oh well, all problems for future Cass! Right now, they lived in the very-fast, probably dangerous moment. They weren't quite the fastest kid on the track though- another girl who also took the bumpy path pulled just ahead of them. Recognising her from that one time they got stuck in a quidditch hoop, they waved @Raizel Voltrouz. They also managed to almost fall of their sled while doing it. "Raizel! Hello!" they called out while they tried not to hit the snow.
They still thought she was awesome for freeing them from their trapped state, even if it was a little painful. She knew so many spells! And was so good at flying! She was going to be a tough opponent in their quest for victory indeed. Thankfully though, the cheating race-runner @Tommy Patterson was nowhere to be seen on their track. When the three tracks merged once again though, the students who had taken the boring path were sporting some snow covered sleds. Probably his doing. Their excited face looked out over the new options for paths. So far they were doing quite well for someone who was barely hanging on to their sled, so this last? Segment was going to be crucial.
They immeditaly ruled out the curtained path- it stinked of tampering. The jump over the pit and the ridiculously steep slope called to them in equal measures. How were they meant to choose? They both looked so dangerous exciting! The steep one however looked like it would help them pick up yet more speed, even if their terrible steering skills would be put to the test. Starting to get the hang of this now, they leaned over to tilt their sled towards the steepest path.

━━━━━━━━━ ⋆ ‧ ❀ ‧ ⋆ ━━━━━━━━━Ruby soared through the tunnel, feeling more alive than she had ever felt. This is great. I don’t know why I was scared of this. She looked round to see who else took the same route as her. She took a turn and saw how narrow the tunnel got. Adrenaline racing through her veins, she tried to get ahead of the pack to avoid a collision. She shot forward, and not soon after that she heard a lot of noise behind her. She looked back and saw she narrowly avoided the collision that was bound to happen in this tunnel. She sighed out of relief. A few of them seemed to have been fast enough, and they shot out of the tunnel, onto the plain field.
And yet again they had to choose out of three paths. She saw there were a few people before her, but she had gained a lot by taking the tunnel. She now had to choose between a jump over a huge gap, a really steep path full of obstacles or a path covered by a curtain. Mmm, which one to choose. It was the hardest decision yet. She had always depended on her gut feeling, and as it hadn’t given her the fastest path each time, she certainly hadn’t chosen the slowest. She closed her eyes for a second, and chose her destiny. The path covered with the curtain it would be. The others looked extremely dangerous, and she couldn’t imagine this being as dangerous or even worse. Hoping for the best outcome, she directed her sled towards the curtain and bend forward to gain some more speed.

❂ July 19, 2024 ▎ --:-- ❂▪ ◚ ◚ ◚ ❂ ◚ ◚ ◚ ▪Okay, that went well, too well in fact that Raizel can’t help but feel there has to be a catch. That’s how it always goes with her luck. A taste of success for the first few choices and actions she takes and then everything falls apart in one go. That hasn’t happened yet however, not when she took that first path, not when she was getting some air time on the second. She was still on her sled.
“This is too good to be true but to heck with it.” She uttered to herself as she took a look around to see who was close to her and perhaps to see if her cousin was nearby. Not a sign of Astra but she found someone else. “Oh, aren’t you… that person who was stuck in that hoop?” she said to Cass with a grin on her face. “Fancy meeting you here again.” She says before looking ahead as there’s still more to this race, another set of choices. As much as she wanted to follow this person that she knows with their path of choice, she wanted to do something else.
She had been testing her luck since the beginning and she’ll keep on doing it. That is why she took the path where that seemingly bottomless pit lies. Oh, one should be scared because what if that’s indeed a bottomless pit? One mistake and it's over for her. While sure, they won’t put their students in danger but this is Hogwarts Summer Camp. You’ll never know when danger comes at you like a speeding bludger. “Let's see how this goes...”▪ ▫ ◙ 271/200 ◙ ▫ ▪

 •☽༻¨:·. ──── ₊☽◯☾₊ ──── .·:¨༺☾• It was even more fun now with the addition of the small bumps!  Tone couldn't help but smile as he went over them and got some air time. The speed picked up and he could feel the wind blow through his white hair as the contraption made him fly faster. Now this was what he'd been wanting to feel all this time! If only the speed would continue from this point on! Five others had chosen the same path as him, who were pretty much at the same spot too. 2 others flew off the tiny bumps and soared overhead. Those two sledders ended up taking the lead in this race but there was still one more lap to go. Anything could happen before the end of the race. Even if he lost in the end, Tone was quite satisfied with how this event had gone, it had given him some adrenaline rushes and he was actually very thankful. Because of this, he'd forgotten about his current troubles. The sled continued to shoot down the mountain or hill at a massive speed. That was when Tone saw three paths in the distance. He'd have to choose one of them and the race would be over afterward. But this time it was really hard to choose. Tone wasn't about to go for the second one, even though he suspected it might be the one to make you win the race. But it just wasn't that thrilling enough to him when compared to the other two choices. The first was thrilling since it looked as if he was approaching a bottomless pit. Of course, Tone was pretty sure it wasn't. Why? Because if anything went wrong, the sledders would die and surely Hogwarts would not allow such a thing to take place. He believed it to all be an illusion but it was still pretty fun to think about. And then the last choice was an insanely steep drop with lots of obstacles in the way which seemed rather challenging! But which one should he choose? He had to make a choice within a few seconds though. As his sled approached the paths, Tone steered it onto the death defying jump over what looked to be a bottomless pit. Even if the pit wasn't real, the jump was and that was going to be REALLY fun to do. Even if it cost him victory, if the curtains path was the end goal, Tone wouldn't have any regrets. This jump was going to be epic and he'd make sure and strike a pose as he went over the 'illusion' of the pit. There were three others who had also chosen the same path which was nice since it meant everyone else had gone a different route. Kim could have some more alone time. Or rather almost alone time. After all, there were still 3 others. But near the end of the path, a huge snowbank loomed up in the distance. Kim blinked upon seeing it but made no effort to steer his way away from it, even though he probably couldn't have done so even if he'd wanted to. It resulted in his sled, along with the other three, slamming into the front of the snowbank. He'd been a bit behind, so ended up actually smashing into one of the sleds of the others instead of the actual snowbank. A few drops of blood came to the surface of the side of his leg and Kim winced but didn't do or say anything in response. He looked up as Tommy came flying by to wave at them. Most likely to make sure they knew this hadn't been an unintentional accident but one set up as a small obstacle.  Kim got to his feet, picked up his sled from the wreckage, and moved around the snowbank to set the sled down again. Off he went for the last stretch of the race! As the sled started to pick up some speed again, Kim eventually saw the last decision to be made upon him. All of the options seemed dangerous to him. He didn't really want to crash into something behind the curtain. Of course, that was not to say that there WAS something behind the curtain there. It could be the finish line for all the boy knew. But it also could have been another obstacle and he really didn't feel like having to get up again. The bottomless pit scared him, even if he knew it probably was just an illusion. But still... he was reminded of the first time he'd met Gia back in the past. She'd helped him get off the illusion of there being no stairs on the staircase and just a huge drop. Kim had known it had been an illusion at the time. But he still hadn't been able to move. It was similar to now. There was no way he'd choose the bottomless pit. It was the same type of thing. If he didn't want to choose the curtain, there was only one choice left, an adrenaline rushed adventure down an extremely steep hill or mountain. It didn't help that it was filled with obstacles but it was similar to the forest from before. He'd gotten through that without a scratch, he could do it again with this one! Kim steeled himself inside and suddenly felt rather weak for some reason. Right. He was still recovering from that unexpected slug incident. He should have been taking things easy. But instead, he'd signed himself up for an event like this. Interacting with @ Date - 19/07/24 WC 223/200 Color Legend - Mylo | Thoughts As Mylo made there way through the tunnel they started to gain a bit of ground, passing a few of the other people and breathing a sigh of relief at the tunnel not collapsing on them. Although the tunnel might not have collapsed they did suddenly hear a crash, quickly looking behind they saw that a few students had bumped into each other, slowing themselves down and, at least from a distance, not looking too injured. Not having the ability to stop in time to go and help them Mylo kept on going, hoping not to come in last place, although they wouldn't really care if they did.
The next part seemed the most dangerous out of all of the choices they had to make before. Out of the three option they would have rather not taken any of them, but it was unavoidable. So hoping to avoid a crash or something happening they decided to go with their gut and choose the path that seemed a bit steeper than the rest, not something that would be too detrimental though.
Although Mylo hadn't anticipated how steep it would actually be, it was more like a drop than a slope and there were even obstacles in the way. Hoping they wouldn't crash Mylo just braced for impact and started trying to manoeuvre around everything.

Open to Interactions!Colby wasn't a slow learner, but when filled with adrenaline, she took awhile to understand that each path was not just a fun adventure, it had to be correct. She could have sworn that she heard the groans of those she was racing with when they chose a different path than her. From the looks of it, it was definitely luck that she had gotten this far. And even more so, that she was within the first ten people coming down the mountain.
Feeling the fresh, cold air hit against her face only made her adrenaline kick in even more. But alas, she was dealt with another three paths to take. She quickly scanned each path: either she jumps over a bottomless pit, goes down a steep part of the hill that will have obstacles or a path with a curtain. She needed to make a move fast. With the curtain, there would be no way in knowing if it was a pile of snow she would run into. As for the other two, it was a chance she had to make. Taking a deep breath, Colby went for the high death jump. What was the saying... go big, or go home, right?ACTION: Choosing the death jump over a bottomless pit path!

Manu laughed, a truly exhilarated sound as she took the bumpy path and caught some serious air. She had never quite been one for broom sports or the like, but she did have to admit - at least privately to herself, now - that this feeling of soaring through empty space was rather kicking up her adrenaline levels to a much higher feeling than she got with duelling. Maybe her mother Mira had been on to something, playing Quodpot during her time at Castelobruxo.
With these small jumps and big air caught under her sled, Manu landed roughly on the ground, only having pulled away from a few more people. If she wanted to win this thing entirely, the teenager knew she would need to pull a serious stunt - and as she approached the next split in the road, a triad of serious stunts awaited her. She did not like going where she could not see, so the curtain was out. And that steep path… was that a cliff? Absolutely not. But the jump, oh, the jump… longing again to feel the air under her sled, the wind whipping through her hair, Manu turned towards the path and did her best to fly.

Like a scene out of a Looney Tune, Astra the human snowball flipped over from Oonagh's attack, rolling a ways down her hill. In desperate attempt to catch up and regain her former daredevil speed, she kicked off again with reckless abandon, with every intent to give the incoming first year a taste of her own medicine.
However, she was swept away with a crowd to the worst path possible, and not just because Tommy avalanched them. It was the boring path. A quick but longing gaze to the bumpy path and her cousin flying high preceded her second burial.
Astra was quick to bounce back though. If there was one thing Snowball Massacre with Elliot and Jesse Lerian had given her, it was a downright uncanny invincibility to snow being thrown, dumped, or even avalanched onto her person. Sorry Tommy, you're not Astra's first avalanche.
Astra had lost sight of Oonagh, but that was okay, retribution could wait. She did know where the other slept, after all. Instead, as three paths converged and split off, Astra followed Raizel onto the one containing a jump. This would surely make up for the missed air. She wasn't too keen on pulling back the curtain, or slamming headfirst into obstacles. Besides, she already endangered her life on a steep hill. What's life without a little variety.
A loud whoop echoed as she fought to catch up with the others on her path. Another small child (Colby), who certainly had an air of adventure, given her path choices and attitude towards Oonagh in the beginning, would find a snowball chucked at the back of her noggin. Raizel and Cass would receive the same treatment as Astra went no-hands in favor of some good old fashioned sabotage.

Oonagh has gotten pretty far ahead yet regardless of the crazy methods to advance she had picked, she was not in the lead and would have to step up her game. Her gaze immediately was on the death defying jump because with that as an option, it was the only valid option. Of course she would pick that as her route.
On her way down the piste and toward the jump she leaned further down to accelerate herself. She had successfully gotten much further ahead then her previous 'opponents' though she had never doubted that she would.
Keeping in mind that they had been sledding for a while now and that the end must pretty much be close now, a finish line probably just waiting behind the landing area, she had to make this one count, after all she had to get as far ahead as humanly possible.
Her hair whipped around her, curls following behind her like the tail of a shooting star. She made herself small and leaned forward, gripping the sled tightly to steel herself for the launch that was to come at any moment. 'Let's do this,' the one thought on her mind as she propelled herself into the air.
