The wind turned Cass's hair from its usually unruly mess into a true abomination as they walked out into the centre of the training pitch, carrying a borrowed school broom. They were apparently "Not to be trusted with their own one after last time" whatever that meant. It wasn't that bad! Only a little bit.. shredded. Still, they were normally very responsible with brooms! It must just be the shitty quality of the previous victim broomstick. Anyway, regardless of any previous "incidents" it was still not going to stop Cass from practising their flying. They where a decent flyer, though as their father would say "If you get stuck in a tree again i'm leaving you there". It wasn't their fault that trees where literally everywhere all the time! Trees are just evil beyond doubt. They hopped onto the unlucky school broom in question and pushed off the ground, completing a few lazy circles of the pitch before hovering near the middle. If they wanted to join the quidditch (or broom racing, or dueling or any sport that would take them and satisfied their crazy need for entertainment) team they needed to stand out among the other first years.. to do something truly exceptional! An idea came to mind- keepers always went for the qauffle but they couldn't get it if you went through the hoop as well! For once their small size could give them an actual advantage in sports. They accelerated towards one end of the pitch then turned sharply, warming up for the grand finale. The school broom may have been a bit slower than the expensive models that they where used to, but they were going to make this work. Once they reached the end of the pitch, they spun around and leaned forward on their broom, putting in as much speed as they could in a race to the hoops. The targets in question suddenly looked very small, but Cass was still sure this would be a game winning move (If they pulled it off of course). All the air was taken out of their lungs as they shot halfway through the hoop and got caught in the center. Their arms and front of the broom had gone through, but the rest of them had become tightly wedged inside the hoop. Would it be counted as a goal if they had done it with a quaffle? Either way, they were the tiniest bit.. stuck now. "Hey there!" They called out to a figure in the distance that had just walked onto the pitch "A little help?".

❂《 ⌜ April 14, 2024 ▎ --:-- ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔Strange how she’s finding herself around the training pitch more than the duelling club nowadays. It felt wrong for Raizel. She was a duellist and she still loves it up to this day, not a single time she had not regretted her choice of leaving the said sport but… it was something that she had to do. Losing streak, under performing, it was too much for her to handle and she doesn’t want to pull the team down along with her.
She needed something else to do though. While she has never stopped honing her skills when it comes to spellcasting, she still seeks for something else to spend her free time now that she’s not doing any sports and maybe, find a new one to try. That’s where her desire to practice her flying skills comes in, add the fact that she had signed up for Broom Racing. It was the only thing that made her feel so alive during her dark times, a light within the tunnel as one might say. Seeing Xailah Alptraum during that race was stunning. The way she maneuvered through the race track, the way she cast those spells. It was inspiring in a way.
It’s why she picked Broom Racing despite her win during that unofficial Quidditch, it was the one that gave her energy to keep going.
And so, here she is, carrying the trusty Firebolt that she had been using during those times, her race, the Quidditch Match. She had gotten used to it surprisingly enough despite the fact that this broom is kind of out of her league considering her flying skills. It’s not hers though, oh no. It’s such an expensive broom and there was no way her parents would allow her to own one unless she’s skilled enough to handle it. Not like they know she had used one anyway.
Much like the duelling club though, the training pitch is always filled with those wanting to hone their skills whether it’d be for Quidditch, Broom Racing or just their flying skills. What she wasn’t expecting though was a voice to call out to her as she nears one of the hoops. Looking up, she could see someone hanging there. Raizel didn’t know how to respond to that, whether to laugh or to immediately help. “Could’ve found a better place to hang around.” She mounted her own broom and hovered to where this person is, ready to lend a hand that they probably need.

Cass was really stuck. No matter how much they wiggled and squirmed, they remained tightly wedged inside the hoop. Maybe they should have tried it even faster- though the speed they tried already meant they were gonna be left with some bruises. Nothing a little magic couldn't fix though. A side affect of the quick healing services of the hospital wing meant that if it was even possible, Cass had become even more reckless than usual. The figure below turned out to be a griffindor (or a really big fan of red and a traitor to their house) girl who looked about second or third year. She looked like she didn't know what to think of Cass's particular predicament. Maybe she had missed the process that had led up to getting stuck in the hoop, because Cass defiantly thought she should look more impressed. Their game winning move! Or uh.. their soon to be game winning move. Once they could get going a little faster. And maybe find some way to charm themself slippery. Or shrink themself. But it definitely had potential. They just needed uh.. a little more practice. The girl took off and flew over towards the hoop that Cass was currently occupying. Maybe this was a better strategy for a keeper, because there defiantly wasn't room for anything else to get through this hoop- or for Cass to get out. "Sooo uh.. having a nice day?" they said to the newcomer "If you uh have any ideas on how to get me out of here.. I think I might need a teensy little bit of help".

❂《 ⌜ April 14, 2024 ▎ --:-- ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔“It was neither good nor bad but it had gone rather interesting seeing someone stuck in that hoop. You don’t see that everyday even at Hogwarts.” Raizel responded before circling around to figure out the best way to get this person out of their current predicament. As interesting as it is to see, she can’t leave this poor person here without lending a hand and they sure don't seem like the type who would probably get angry if she tries to help out. How is she gonna do this, that’s the question. Simply pushing won’t work considering her strength. That means she’ll have to rely on her spells as always.
Nothing new for a former duellist. She has tons in her arsenal, maybe not the right ones for this situation but surely, they could aid her in her quest of rescuing someone. “Heads up, this might hurt a bit.” she warned as she positioned herself just behind this person stuck in the hoop, wand drawn while running through her list of spells within her mind.
Lubricus would’ve been an effective choice but sadly, she hasn’t mastered that one just yet, making her regret not studying it more. What else does she have? The Knockback Jinx could probably push them out but that would put them in another situation which will be them falling towards the ground. From this height, it’ll hurt. Take it from someone who had fallen off of her broom during a race. That sure broke some bones that she only realized when she was getting treatment in the Hospital Wing.
A quick gesture and then the incantation. “Flipendo!” With its power, it should… hopefully be enough to push them through but of course, her spellcasting didn’t stop there as she still needs to prevent them from falling or at least, lessen the impact. She needed to act fast and her aim should be precise on this one. She can’t afford any mistakes. “Arresto Momentum!” It was a quick follow up. Should it hit, it should at least lower the speed that this person should be descending to the ground.

Perhaps this hadn't the best idea. Or the best execution of it at least. Getting into the hoop had hurt, and according to the girl getting out wasn't going to be the most pleasant experience either. Wasn't there some other way that didn't involve blasting them through the air and a very small window of time where they still could be saved from hurtling to the ground? It didn't look like they had any other options though, so they just nodded at the girl and said "thanks". They really hoped they wouldn't turn into a Cass pancake because of this. Could the hospital wing fix someone who was squashed completely flat? Experiencing being 2 dimensional didn't sound very fun to them, even if it was only temporary.
The first spell the girl cast hit like a shove from behind, forcing them out of the hoop and into free fall. Ouch. She hadn't been joking when she said this would hurt. Years of practice from falling out of trees, of roofs (That was just one time though- alright maybe twice, but only because that bird flew into them. Birds are just plain evil) and pretty much any high place they decided they wanted to explore made Cass spread out their arms and fall like a starfish, trying to give the girls second spell more time to hit. Hopefully she had a second spell planned. The ground was looking just a tiny bit like a place they didn't feel like face planting on right now. Just in time, their fall slowed to an abrupt almost stop just a few meters from the pitch. They drifted for a few seconds, then tilted their body uprightish to at least attempt to land in style. Off balance from being forcefully removed from a quidditch hoop then falling through the air, they fell on their face. At least they shut their mouth before they could get a delicious meal of dirt (It wasn't delicious. Don't ask how they knew).
They pushed themself up from the ground and winced. Definitely going to have to make time for a trip to the hospital wing later. No matter they cou- hang on. The broom. What happened to the broom that they had borrowed? If it broke they would definitely loose broom borrowing privileges. Ooohh no no no. "Did you see what happened to my broom?" They yelled up at the other girl.

❂《 ⌜ April 14, 2024 ▎ --:-- ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔Her spells worked, surprisingly enough. That flipendo came out splendidly and even did its job of shoving this poor person stuck in the hoop. The next spell worked just as fine as the first one with how this person’s body fell in a slow motion manner but their landing? Maybe it did lessen the damage that they could’ve taken if she didn’t cast the slowing charm but it still didn’t look that pleasant. Who would feel okay after landing face first on the ground?
She sure hopes that they didn’t get any serious injury from that fall though. Raizel is not a healer after all. She does carry with her a bruise removal paste. She could offer that instead. Looking down on this person’s figure, they seem okay, having enough strength to get back on their feet and from the looks of it, the slowing charm has worn off and there was no need for a counter charm.
As she descended back to the ground, she heard the person’s voice calling out, asking if she had seen the broom, making her stop to look around. “No, I didn't see any broom.” she called back while continuing to scan around the training pitch. It couldn’t have flown off that far from them. What kind of broom was it? She didn’t notice it the first time she saw this person up there. Hopefully it didn’t break if it was an expensive broom. She could barely afford her own broom.

"Oh nononono.." they groaned "If I loose that broom I'm never going to be allowed to borrow one again". It wasn't a particularly nice school broom, but it was currently all they had until they could convince their Pa that they had changed their broom destroying ways and could be trusted with a new one. They where wondering if they could get away with asking for a firebolt... They knew their family could certainly afford it but as a former quidditch player himself, he was unlikely to trust such a beautiful broom to Cass's destructive hands.
Either way, they would be waiting a long time to fly again if they lost or broke this broom. Anyone who had known Cass for five minutes would trust them to borrow theirs (Perhaps they could turn to thievery? desperate times called for desperate measures after all. But hopefully it wouldn't get to that. They jogged over to the hoop they had fallen out and started desperately scanning the pitch for a rouge broom. Their short average height meant that they were left jumping around, looking around with an increasing frenzy.
When they finally spotted it, it wasn't much of a cause for joy. It was stuck in the trees just beyond the edge of the pitch, but way to high to reach without risk. Risk? the risk of not being able to fly was worse than the risk of a brief stay in the hospital wing! They took off at a run towards the trees, wincing at their bruises. They would have to thank the girl who saved them another time.

❂《 ⌜ April 14, 2024 ▎ --:-- ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔And off they went to find the broom. Raizel still kept an eye out for it as she followed them up in the skies, having a better view of the whole area. Then again, spotting a broom would still be that hard and her eyes were mostly on that person trying to find it, jumping and running. It was a surprise that they could still move like that but not like they were injured that bad. They landed safely. That Flipendo would’ve hurt a lot though.
Raizel flew closer when they ran faster, the tree that they were headed catching her attention and soon enough, that broom that they were looking for was there and high up. “That one flew further than I thought.” There were still questions in her head though and one of them was how on Earth did this person end up stuck in that hoop. But questions will have to wait as she probably won’t get it answered unless that broom is back safely in their arms.
“I could get that for you if you want.” She suggested as she doesn’t want to make her move just yet. Kindness sometimes causes conflicts based on her experience and apparently, people get mad at you for helping them so might as well ask for permission before doing so. “Unless you want to get it yourself.” That’s probably not the best idea though.

They briefly consider climbing up the tree to get it just to prove they can. The minute they take a step forward though they wince from their bruises. Getting stuck in a hoop is not a particularly enjoyable experience. "That would be great if you could" they smiled at the other girl "thanks". For a second they realised she probably thinks that they are some kind of crazy person, getting stuck in a hoop, falling through the air then immediately taking off to look for a broom. Oh well, not much they can do about it now.
"I'm Cass by the way" they say, attempting to salvage this encounter. It's always better not have people think you are crazy, believe it or not. Hopefully she really can get their broom down. It looks high in the tree but they can't see any damage from where they are standing. Or at least nothing they can't disguise and pretend to know nothing about. What the flying teacher doesn't know can't hurt them. The same might not apply to the next student to ride it though.
Flippendo-casting-rescuer-girl looks like she can probably fly enough to get it out. It's only a tree after all (they are like 90% sure the womping willow is on the other side of the school so they should be good). The tree in question doesn't show any signs of a hidden desire to bludgeon them to death with its branches either, which is always a good sign.

❂《 ⌜ April 14, 2024 ▎ --:-- ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔There are two ways that Raizel can get that broom.
One was the normal and easy way. It just requires her flying over to the tree, reaching out for it and hoping that she doesn’t fall off herself while trying to get it off of the branches that it’s currently stuck to and the second would be… the fun way. Fun just because she was considering using Accio. Nothing special about that right? But for someone who loves spellcasting, it’s a lot better than just using your hands. Not to mention, Accio is a third year spell. Raizel is the type of person who would use any excuse just to use the advance spells that she learned through studying.
Despite the temptation, Raizel picked the ‘normal’ way which is flying as high as she could, hovering on the same level as where the broom is stuck once she heard this person's response. For a second there, she thought she would be getting something along the line of ‘I don’t need your help!’ in a not so friendly tone. Luckily, this person is friendly. “C’mon…” She reached out for the broom, pulling it out but not without a struggle. She’s aware of her physical strength and she knows it’s not that great. It was enough for her to win an arm wrestling though.
Soon enough, she manages to pull it out but that almost knocks her off of her broom doing so. Carefully, she landed on the ground, finding it difficult to maneuver using only one hand to hold on to her broom. “The name is Raizel.” She introduced herself to Cass as she held out the broom she just retrieved from the clutches of the tree branch. “Care to enlighten me on how you ended up there?” she asked, curious about how Cass got into that situation.
