EmmaLee laughed at Stephen's food puns and his excitement at her retrieving some food for them. "Of course." She said happily to his thanks, and popped some of the offered popcorn in her mouth as they continued to make their way towards the goal hoops. EmmaLee continued to smile happily as they walked in comfortable silence as they ate. The more the summer went on, the more this scavenger hunt went on, the more she felt like she had made the right decision in ignoring her aunts' weird hyper fixation on EmmaLee having a romantic relationship with Stephen and EmmaLee deciding to let the romantic feelings she did have for Stephen go. She didn't need anything more than this comfortable friendship with one of her favorite friends and she was still a little embarrassed that she had let someone influence the way she felt about that. If Stephen didn't want anything more than this, then she could be ok with that, even if it took her a while to suppress the butterflies.Hey Stephen, I know looks can be deceiving
But I know I saw a light in you
And as we walked we would talk
And I didn't say half the things I wanted to...
Sure. Her heart still skipped a beat every time he smiled at her and her chest still bubbled with a giggly kind of sheepishness whenever he complimented her anymore....I can't help it if you look like an angel...
Aaaaaand the invasive thoughts still cropped up when she let her mind wander....Can't help it if I wanna kiss you in the rain, so...
But if she could just act normal, and pretend nothing else was going on on her side, all that would go away eventually, right?...come feel this magic I've been feeling since I met you...
It needed to go away. Now that she had decided to quit over-thinking about it all and she had quit acting so weird, everything between them was going back to normal. She didn't need anything more if she could have this. She really didn't....Can't help it if there's no one else...
________________________________________________...I can't help myself...
Speaking of invasive thoughts, EmmaLee's first instinct when Stephen put his finger near her lips, shushing her from saying that it was, in fact, not her fault that Minx left, but his because he was so distracting, good thing she didn't say that either, was to be cheeky and kiss it, but thankfully, she snatched that feeling and that thought back and just stared at him instead, her mind wrestling to NOT say or do something weird or stupid, as Stephen produced a mouse he made for her cat.
"Awww. It's so cute." She said, finally, taking it from him in both her hands and looking at it from all angles. Wait, who did he get the cat nip from? "It seems like you 'ave figured out a needle and thread." She teased, referring to when they had been in the crafting tent last summer and he had made Gnome-N-Clature. It had taken him a couple of tries to get the technique right, but Stephen, of course, had to get it perfectly. She wouldn't be surprised to find out he had been practicing in some of his spare time. EmmaLee giggled again at the suggestion to blame Miles for her cat playing in the middle of the night.
"We could probably blame 'im for the catnip, but I'm not sure about the mouse." She said with a cheeky grin. "Thank you. I think Minx will like it very much." EmmaLee placed the sewn animal in the pocket of her dress and turned back to Stephen as he was humming his answer to her question about the scavenger hunt.
"My thoughts exactly," She said to the familiar tune. "Although, if it takes us too long to get to the end of this, I may end up 'aving a nose for myself." She said with a wink as behind him the now-familiar fireworks flared up again. She beamed at their continued success and walked over to claim their next clue.
For the third time, she read the clue aloud and then read it silently. Her pale eyebrows knit together once more as she puzzled the clue. Well, kings and queens would be in the VIP Box, yes? Does the VIP box here have purple seats? EmmaLee had been to Quodpot games in America with her stepfather, Kiernan, and Mr. Kennedy, Kiernan's father, but they had never bought seats in the box because Victor and Mr. Kennedy thought they were too set apart from the game, though, especially Mr. Kennedy could afford them. Though she was unsure, EmmaLee couldn't fathom that it could be anywhere else in the Stadium.
"To the VIP Box?" She asked more than said to Stephen, who "concurred" once more, and off they headed. EmmaLee smiled into the light wind as they headed up to the box. She would be sad to see this summer go. It really was turning out to be a great time. As shocked as she had been at first, the snow in summer was fun, and it had made for some really nice days.
As they approached and entered the box, they found others there and the always three piles of things to choose from. EmmaLee scanned the clue once more and was puzzled again. Considering their assumption of the ending activity, socks were right out, but should they grab the mittens or the gloves? Well, gloves didn't really "transform" your fingers. They covered them, sure, but you still have five when you put them on. A mitten more or less bound your fingers together into one digit and a thumb.
"I'm going to grab the mittens," EmmaLee said finally after a great deal of thought. She reached into the pile and grabbed a blue pair that matched her scarf, then turned to see which pair Stephen would pick.

So, the scavenger hunt seemed to be going great for Eugenia. She had just solved the third riddle when a pack of scrolls appeared on the table. Well, that must be the fourth riddle. Mind you, I got here just in time… She grabbed the first one in front of her.
Opening the scroll, she was greeted with the fourth riddle. Some purple thrones… She looked towards the direction of the top box. Well, I guess I found the location! It better be correct. To the Top Box! It didn’t take her too much time to get there. The truth was, there were many flights of stairs she had to go up. It didn’t really make the task much harder though.
Finally, Eugenia reached the top box. There, she indeed saw purple chairs. So all this walking was definitely not a waste of time. She read a riddle again. Something to keep your digits warm. Well, all of them do that, that was no clue really. But the last phrase. “Willl your digits transform. You count with your fingers, you use them as digits. So they must be the correct set of fingers. Now, gloves have a separation for each finger, but mittens don’t. By wearing them you are transforming your digits. From five to two? Nevermind that.
So, Eugenia picked up a pair of white mittens with red polka dots, hoping it is the correct answer.

RPing as Zophyr Qethnis from Uagadou Genderfluid, pronouns at the moment: she/her☽ Kirundi | French | English | Swahili | Arabic | Tswana | Xhosa ☾Once again, Tone and Zophyr had picked the right location and object. She was starting to get the hang of this! As disappointed as she was that she couldn't take (and keep) the rubies. But this was fun! It distracted her from the cold, it involved observing and figuring out riddles, and she got to hang out with Tone on his awesome broom. Who could ask for more?

As with the last riddle, the location was easy to understand, but the object not so much. Purple thrones - the top box, of course. Or rather, the box at the top, as Zophyr had been calling it before she remembered its true name, and was now too stubborn to change. It was true that you felt like a monarch from up there. And thankfully, she didn't have to climb all the way up, because Tone was amazing. And brooms, too, brooms were amazing.
Now for the objects on the table... this was a lot harder. At first, when she'd read the clue, Zophyr had immediately thought of gloves, because, well, digits. But there were mittens here too. Which one was she supposed to choose?
It was the second line of the second stanza that made her decide herself. Mittens were much warmer than gloves, in her opinion, so if she had to choose between the two, to "make sure that she was warm", she picked the mittens. There was a good chance she'd picked wrong, but only one way to find out.
Also, an afterthought: if they wanted the students to make sure they stayed warm, why was it a winter camp. Honestly, Zophyr could rarely understand these Hogwarts professors and organizers. They never made any sense.

"It seems like you 'ave figured out a needle and thread," she goaded him with after expressing her delight at how cute his makeshift mouse was. "Ah, yes. I see you remember my dismal attempts at sewing by hand from last summer's adventure," and he smirked. "Well, I was able to put a little more effort into getting Gnome N. Clature right, mainly because I had daylight to see what was going on. I make no such promises with that scrappy little mouse. You could awaken tomorrow to find catnip all over your bedding and speckled throughout Minx's coat."
Then he cleared his throat. "It must have been quite the sight if anyone had been looking last night. I zipped myself up entirely into my sleeping bag and cast Lumos, hoping I could hold the mouse fabric and the wand in one hand and the threaded needle in the other. I was trying not to awaken anyone, but newsfalsh - it's impossible to hold a wand and anything else in one's hand and try to maintain a spell," and he shook his his head with a look that clearly expressed, no-kidding-Sherlock.
"It wasn't funny at the time, but I guess I can see the humor in it now. I dropped the fabric. I dropped the catnip all over the interior of my sleeping bag. I even dropped the needle more than a few times. And the wand," he groaned with a good deal of exasperation. "Don't even get me started on that. I dropped it and kept having to recast I don't even know how many times. I even cast and then put it in my mouth to hold it so I could use both hands to sew. That was the biggest failure right there. Wand has to be in hand, not mouth, to work," and he looked down at his feet and shuffled them a bit. "Not my finest moments, I have to say. I finally got frustrated and unzipped, climbed out, and finished it huddled up by the firepit. Should have just started there," and he shrugged his shoulders with his winning grin.
When the fireworks burst forth behind him, he and EmmaLee grabbed their scrolls and headed off to the high box seats in the stadium. His father was a big deal real estate mogul in the San Francisco Bay area who often hosted clients in the Luxury Box suites at Oracle Park, so he had been in such a place before, but the Top Box seats here were definitely more regal in their appearance and opulence. The difference here was that these seats, so high above the field, gave a much better view of what was happening during the Quidditch match. The view of the hoops could not be beaten. The Luxury Box suites back home, while hoidy toidy in their own right, were not the best for actually viewing the baseball game on the field because they were too high up. That had always bothered Stephen and he used to beg his father for permission to watch from one of the center field seats. To his utter joy, his father allowed it a couple times.
"Wow. Can you imagine watching a Quidditch match from here? That must really be something," he said in awe, more to himself than to EmmaLee. He had been captivated by the view from the huge windows upon entering, but had dutifully followed her first to the table piled high with three separate mounds of socks, mittens, and gloves. They both agreed the transformative clue had to refer to mittens, so he let her pick her pair first. As with the buttons, there were more than enough pairs given the number of "hunters", so he decided to go a bit rogue. He first grabbed a pair of dark green with white polka dots mittens and then a yellow colored pair with grey stripes. He quickly mixed and matched them, leaving the second mixed and matched pair behind on the table.
"I don't know why, but a green and white right hand and yellow and grey left one feels like it will suit my snow dude perfectly. He's feeling kind of Bohemian truth be told."

________—_______ July 30th, 2024Pyxis was almost disappointed when the fireworks went off. This is why I never did any sports. Duelling was the exception of course, as he mainly stayed in the same spot and being blasted backwards wasn’t as frustrating to deal with as exhaustion. Whatever, it’s almost over anyways. It was more wishful thinking, but he was already three - about to be four - clues deep, so he might as well finish what he started. He picked up a scroll and unraveled it to read the clue.
This one spoke of thrones so Pyxis immediately started for the top box. He’d been a box seater in the muggle world, so he definitely had some interest in what Quidditch box seats were like. The boy followed the sparse crowd through and up the stadium until he arrived as the most prestigious of boxes. Mentally oohing and ahhing at the luxury of the setting, he came across the piles for the scavenger hunt. Gloves were the first to be eliminated as his choice. There were many types and not all were designed for warmth. Also, you’d still have five fingers. Not much digit-transforming going on there. Socks turned five toes into one unit and mittens possessed two pockets, but only one of them was specifically designed with warmth in mind. Pyxis stuffed his already-clothed fingers into a pair of teal ones to match his scarf and waited to see if his location choice was correct.Action: Picking up a pair of mittens.

Date : July 30th, 2024 Color code : Written|Thought|Said Sere took the scroll in the pile that appeared after another golden firework. She put the button she had taken into her pocket and opened the scroll. 'Some purple thrones will suit them best as they fly on eagle's wings.' Sere frowned. Where was that? I think I've seen a kind of purple sofa around this stadium. The Gryffindor girl folded her arms and looked around, but she didn't see anything shaped like a purple throne on her eye level.
She re-read the clue. Huh? Eagle's wings? Sere moved her sight upwards and scanning around once again. It doesn't take long for "Aha! Gotcha!" We are allowed to go up there? Really? Sere took steps with several other people, climbing up the stairs leading to the top section. Sere saw a little hint of purple velvet armchair from the Goal Hoops earlier and decided to check on the Top Box. This section seemed like a place designated for either special people in their hierarchy or those with money. It will definitely require very sharp eyes to watch everything from up here.
'Make sure that you are warm by picking an accessory that will your digits transform.' Sere didn't really understand the meaning of the last few words of the clue, but looking at the three piles of accessories in front of her, the white mittens looked as if the warmest. "I'll take a pair of this one."WC : 237/200

RPing as Cyrus Alexander Darsel (Ilvermorny iNPC)
Cyrus was beginning to consider that, perhaps, he was not as adept at riddle solving as he had previously entertained. He had spent quite some time simply staring at the riddle, blue eyes unblinking, lanky limbs bent and spine slouched as he tried to discern the words on the parchment. His gaze kept catching on the word 'throne'. It was a Quidditch stadium. Where in the corn nuts would there be a throne? The toilets!?
Finally, he put two and two together: the 'throne' was metaphorical, because of course it was. The mention of warmth had Cyrus tighten his scarf once again, straightening his posture as he strutted to the Top Box – where the wealthy and well-informed often sat. He could already envision the orangey-red of a crackling fire, something that definitely would transform his fingers, albeit perhaps not in a positive way. Ooh – there was also the possibility that, upon arriving at the Top Box, Cyrus would be able to wrap his fingers around a steaming mug of hot cocoa, complete with white marshmallows peeking out of the whipped cream that would top the chocolatey delight.
He arrived at the Top Box, and to his detriment, no cocoa greeted him. Despite that, the Top Box was beautiful, what with the violet seats that boasted careful embroidery. Perhaps a king could have sat here – perhaps, he mused, that was why the riddle called the chairs 'thrones'.
He glanced around, and his gaze settled on mittens, socks and gloves. He stared at the socks, but he stopped himself from picking them. His hands were not sock puppets. And even if the socks were helpful, they did not innately transform his fingers.
He then looked at the gloves. No transformation there. There were still five fingers.
He picked up a pair of neon green mittens and slipped them onto his hands, a small smile gracing his features as the warmth from the mittens joined the warmth radiating from the scarf. This was quite possibly the most cosiest scavenger hunt he had ever had the pleasure of partaking in.

THE FIFTH RIDDLE HAS APPEARED!
Those who travelled fourth to the Top Box would find themselves reassured to the correctness of their location choice, at least, by a familiar show of golden explosions and the subsequent appearance of scrolls on the table nearest the purple thrones. Each participant could take a scroll and open it to reveal the penultimate location-and-object-hunting riddle of the Scavenger Hunt:
You've had enough of seeing the game
From so high up, well, haven't you?
Go lower now, and find a place
With a bit of a closer view.
When there, make sure to examine
That which goes upon your head.
You'll hear just fine and be not French

When they came, Tone grabbed one of the new scrolls and quickly read through the riddle. He read it a second time and thought for a few seconds or so. It didn't take him long to figure it out, the locations were never a problem for him. It was just the choice between the three objects that seemed to be harder. At least when it came to him. Tone waited for Zophyr to climb onto Yajirushi and then took off into the air. The flight was comfortable and the air was nice and cool, it really was the perfect summer. Of course, it probably had something to do with the fact that the organizers had enchanted the place to have a winter theme. "What do you think of the winter theme this summer?" Tone asked Zophyr as they flew towards their next location. It was the Stands as the next place. After all, it was obvious why it was THAT location from the riddle. Tone put the riddle into his backpack while on Yajirushi, his hands nimble due to his experience as a beater, and smiled at Zophyr. "Ready for the next place?" He asked with a raised brow and spotted their destination a few seconds away from their current location. "Here we go!" Tone said and swooped down towards the Stands. Now for the difficult choice to make. ——— [ mahoutokoro - year 4 - navy robe - beater ] ( codes by uly. ) | ———————— |
