When Aston heard of an unofficial Quiddich match run by some unfamiliar boy from a different school Aston quickly signed up. Sure the teams will probably be filled by people he doesn't know and he worries about screwing up and ruining the game experience for them but how can he say no to Quiddich!
When Aston arrived at the place of the match he realised that quite a few people were already here. Some he recognises as Hogwarts students he's seen around the school, other as unfamiliar faces he's only ever seen at camp this past month. As he held the old broom he had borrowed Aston definitely felt a bit self conscious, Everyone else out here seems to have their own... Him and his father were never wealthy, the one old broom they owned Aston's father made sure was at home. Unfortunately they can't afford a good new broom, not yet anyways.
The blond hair boy who ran the match came with a megaphone to explain the rules and get everyone started, he introduced himself as Cyrus, someone also from the US who really likes ducks. Ducks are really nice, and cute! A really good choice for a favourite animal. Aston flew in the air holding the bat he got and hoped the game would go well for his team. Prat is the only person that he knows on this team and he refuses to make his first impression these people have of him a bad Quidditch match.

Roleplaying as approved iNPC Irina Liliya Zvereva
Irina was not your typical sports fan. She was not really interested in Quidditch or Broom Racing. Duelling, well she loved Duelling. But did she have an opportunity to duel? No. She always remembered how her mother would tell her to always try new things. So, when she saw a sign up sheet for an Unofficial Quiddich game, she signed up herself immediately. Iriliya didn’t necessarily like Quiddich, but she was familiar with the system. So, she chose and signed up herself for the position of First-String Keeper.
When the day of the match came, she got onto the pitch of the London Quidditch Stadium, she was as tense as ever. Don’t worry Iriliya. It will be alright. In the worst case, I will be knocked off my broom. No need to fear… She tried to comfort herself a bit. Irina just hoped she doesn’t do a terrible job as Keeper. Of course, she was an amateur, and this is no professional game. But still, she was a competitive person and didn’t like losing. At least I’m not a team captain. That would be even worse. Irina looked around. There was sadly no other Koldovtsvoretz student, someone she could have known. Nevermind. You can’t always have nice things in life.
So, slightly trembling, Iriliya went at the pitch. She stood beneath the Goal Hoops, ready to mount her Cleansweep 5, a present from her aunt for her birthday last year. Who knew she would use it this way. She took another deep breath and heard the referee. He sounded nice. So Cyrus is his name. Hm. He is a bit odd, but aren’t we all too? Well, I think I know the rules good enough. She looked at the balls Cyrus was about to release. Well, she had to use her skills when it came to evading stuff and protecting the baskets.
Well, this was no different than a duel. Protect what you’ve got, wriggle out of danger, make sure you don’t fall unconscious. What a great game it will be. Now, Iriliya felt ready to mount her broom. Fingers crossed this doesn’t end up in a disaster.

Promise walked carefully down to the quidditch stadium, as the cool breeze drifted gracefully through her hair. she wearing simple warm clothing since this wasn't a normal warm July morning. Promise did enjoy quidditch, the couple times she'd played and watched the sport, but she never really played at an actual stadium with this many people. Promise was an early bird, and very organized with her schedule, so it was strange that she was one of the last people to arrive. Promise had a shabby school broom in hand as she she made it right in time, her position, a beater, was basically hitting around a bludger in hopes it was strike someone and get them right of there broom, she wasn't the reckless violent type, but how bad could it get? The thought of falling, could get bad, but that was basically the worst it could get, so no big deal. Promise mounted her broom, ready to begin. She'd never really put much thought into the game ahead, not really worrying much, she was ready to take off and give the game her all, hopefully I won't be the first to flip off of my broom, She thought to herself as she shot out into the sky.

This was Prat's first game he'd ever play as far as quidditch was concerned. His sport of choice from the first day of school was Duelling. However upon seeing sign ups for Unofficial quid Prat still joined in to live the experience and fulfill his curiosity about this high risk high reward sport on brooms. Before the event even started Prat had strategy books laid on his bed, gathering as much information as he could for the coming game. He didn't want to seem like a fish out of water when the day would finally come, however he knew for all paper knowledge living it practically would be an entirely different ball game.
The day finally arrived and Prat was now looking forward to the game, feeling confident after all his preparations only to have the illusion broken as he stepped foot on the field with his team. The feeling of knowing that the day had finally come and it was now fight or flight was unnerving. That added with the knowledge of how the opposing teams had seniors on it was scary for Prat. He'd seen what getting hit with a bludger during these games had done to other kids. Thankful, knowing he was not one of the other positions but the seeker. Prat sighed his nerves away in one big moment of focus and got his spirit back. He finished preparing himself for the game intending to follow the game plan they had constructed prior after he introduced himself to the people playing that day.

RPing as Zophyr Qethnis from Uagadou Genderfluid, pronouns at the moment: she/her☽ Kirundi | French | English | Swahili | Arabic | Tswana | Xhosa ☾Alright, so yes, Zophyr was going to be doing an official game of Quidditch in less than two weeks, and yes, she therefore probably didn't need this. But when had she ever been able to say no to a game? And also, the guy hosting this particular game happened to be the duck dude, who had given Zophyr a rubber duckie a few days ago, and for that, she was forever grateful (and extremely curious to find out more about him). So there were several reasons for her being here at 8:30 in the morning.
Date: July 25 2024
Time: 8:30 Interacting with: Cyrus duck guy @Koko Riddle
Mentioning: teammates[/mention][/revelio]
Zophyr knew, uhhh, absolutely no one. That was certainly something. Other than the duck guy, she'd never spoken to any of these people, both on her team and the opposing one. Sure, anywhere else this probably would have been good news, because it was people, which was always interesting and she was in the mood to make some new acquaintances. But they happened to be playing Quidditch, and making friends while doing so often required losing your focus.
At least she was on the bench, for now. That wasn't something she was grateful for very often, but this time she was curious and really wanted to take some time to observe everyone. This was her (slightly twisted) way of getting to know them. It had the added benefit of being able to tell their strengths and weaknesses just in case she had to play during the game.
The duck dude (Zophyr, despite knowing his name, had now decided to stubbornly refuse ever to use it) explained the rules, which reminded her she was playing with some people who had never Quidditched before. Interesting... this would be quite the game. "Thanks for hosting this," she grinned at duck man. An idea came to mind. "Hey, do you think ducks could ride brooms?" Hmm, it was probably better to leave him to his moderating - he was working and she was not, after all - but one question wouldn't hurt, right?

Basil frowned as he walked on the pitch. He had no idea why he had decided to do this. He had never played quidditch in his life and had only ever broom raced. His dumb decision to be in this quidditch game was not a good one. Basil clutched his broom as he sat listened to the boy talk. He tuned out most of it then sat down on the bench. He was glad that he didn't acually have to do anything and he could stay in the backround. He liked broom racing because it was a team effort and it was just a race so even if you were in the front (which he usually wasn't) that could change quickly so attention wasn't really focused on you. Basil looked up towards the sky as the match began and hoped that the beaters where all really good at avoiding bludgers so he wouldn't have to go up there. Basil knew he was a good flyer, he knew he could do fine up in the sky-but he hated attention. Basil stared at his shoes. I really hope that this match goes well. Devon told me I'm too self consious but I really am not a people person. I just wish I could be better. Basil thought, sighing then looking up at the game.

Judas had, apparently, accidentally managed to indicate to the organizer of this particular fête that he was, somehow, qualified to be their team's captain. He wasn't sure how exactly he'd managed to mess up so badly that he'd given the host the impression that he had any more than the passing understanding of quidditch strategy one gained from seeing the occasional professional game, but he admittedly hadn't paid much attention to what the sign-ups had actually said, nor what boxes he may have been checking "yes" to. He had the charisma and leadership skills, surely, but even he could admit that he lacked actual practical Quidditch experience. He'd foolishly assumed that pick-up games at a summer camp would be beginner-friendly, and was now expected to somehow lead his team to victory. Thankfully, 'fake it 'til you make it' was his personal specialty.
Introducing himself with a smile and handshake to each of his teammates, he did his best to nod along during the strategy discussion, listening to each point and parroting his team members' opinions back to them. Elias was the other captain of their team, which was helpful as Judas could cheerfully reroute questions his way under the guise of wanting his opinion. Thankfully, despite his own lacking knowledge on the subject, quite a few of their team members did actually have a good head for Quidditch strategy, and once they had a plan in place, Judas mounted his broom and took to the sky.

Maybe it was good behavior that landed him here. Or — the more pragmatic answer — his mother was sick of her eldest son’s glowering attitude.
Courtesy of Alphonse’s sourly mumbled magnitude of complaints regarding his being bored, exhausted, and facing unnecessary punishment. His mother would continue to bestow him more and more work, until, finally, Sarai would reach her breaking point.
It worked every time.
Alphonse had calculated the tolerance and strength of mother’s patience down to an science, testing and pushing it like clockwork. But the Haitian boy would always pay for it later; karma, or perhaps his mother’s contempt and her inclination for vengeance, always had an eye for retribution as a result for his misbehavior and wrongdoings. But Alphonse refused to care. At least, not in the present moment.
His mother’s shooing away from her presence allowed temporary freedom from toil, even if it was for a minimal respite.
The boy would not heed her command to “sleep if he was so tired,” but rather snatched his broom from his mother’s tent and attempted to avoid her scornful gaze in the meantime. Like a shark scenting blood in water, he’d seek out the setup of an unofficial quidditch game almost immediately, although arriving just a hair too late to play first string. Luckily, the host appointed him to his current position on Castelobruxo’s quidditch team - chaser.
That was good enough to satiate him, for now.

How in the world did Elias find himself here? One moment, he was minding his own, hanging out with friends and, surprise surprise, enjoying this snowy summer wonderland. The next, he found himself signing up for not one but two sporting events in which only three names were recognizable to him: classmate and brother-figure (he had yet to let Cyrus know of this status) Cyrus Darsel, and boys' night party people Judas Crane and Daniel Tienzo (who was only signed up for Quidditch but still). So Elias slapped his name up on both lists because why not? Sports are fun, right?
Except he didn't have a broom.
By the grace of God, he was able to borrow one, through pleading and begging and bribery and his general likeableness to borrow a broom from a frankly terrifying girl Astra :]. Apparently its name was Albany and he was to take the utmost care of it or he would not see the light of day tomorrow morning.
Today's adventure: Quidditch. Elias, well, he didn't exactly know how the game was played, but he was sure he could figure it out! Plus his teammates seemed super on it and knowledgeable about the game. He did seem to be the last one to arrive, so he quickly and clumsily kicked off the ground with the new used and definitely not his broom and zoomed up, catching the gist of the game via lip-reading.
He waved to his team before dipping around people to come beside Judas. From there, he also waved to Cyrus.
Hopefully this would be as fun as he thought it would be. He would find out in just a minute.

Humming cheerfully, Slava made his way to where Cyrus’s unofficial Quidditch match was going to take place. It was fairly early in the morning, but he was ready. Quidditch was one of the things he loved most in the world, so how could he have possibly resisted signing up for this? Additionally, since it was being hosted by a friend, obviously another reason why Slava had to come was to support him. The Russian was smiling brightly as he joined the group gathered here, only half-listening while Cyrus explained the basics of the game, since he was already intimately familiar with the rules and gameplay.
Instead, Slava looked around at the others. He didn’t recognize the vast majority of them, but they looked like pretty interesting people. He was mildly concerned about how young most of them seemed to be, though. Official games were one thing—a certain ruthlessness emerged when he played for Durmstrang—but this was slightly different. Between their age and the fact that this was only an unofficial game, it was very likely that most of them were inexperienced and just trying out the sport. And because Slava loved Quidditch, he wanted everyone to have the chance to enjoy Quidditch, too, and he didn’t particularly want to be the one to scare them away from it…
Perhaps he should’ve signed up for a different position, like Keeper or Chaser. At least in those roles he wouldn’t be planning to hit iron balls at those little students. But ah well, he had chosen his favored position and now it was time to play. He shouldn’t be worrying too much about his opponents—even if they were young, they had chosen this just as he had and thus consented to whatever harm occurred as part of the match. There was always magic to heal them, too. They would be fine. Slava gave Cyrus an encouraging grin and thumbs up when the American stopped speaking, and then he mounted his broom. A second later, Cyrus announced the start, and they were off.
