Sorting Ceremony
September 1st, 2024
Alyss took a deep breath as she entered the hall, glancing over all the faces of the older students. They all looked so scary. Maybe that was because of her younger age, but she wasn’t so sure she really wanted to sit next to any of these people.
As she awaited her name, she knew it would take a little while. The sorting hat was taking its time, really making sure that everyone went into the right house. The pit in her stomach twisted, and she was starting to feel herself shake a little bit as she waited for her name. Alyss glanced down and held her hand out in front of her, watching the slight shake that her hand had, more so than the usual shake of her not being able to sit still. She had tried before, but it never lasted,
While she had been focusing on herself, quite a few names were called, and a variety of houses they’d been sorted into. Alyss took a deep breath trying to calm herself. She snapped to attention when she heard her own name ringing across the hall.“Gilmour Alyss.”
Alyss walked towards the sorting hat, which had taken its time on the last student. She just hoped her sorting was quick, and that she wouldn’t have to sit up there, with what seemed like everyone’s eyes on her. But once the hat was placed on her head, the world seemed to pause.
“Hmm. A curious one, no doubt.” The hat spoke. “Huh?” Alyss mumbled. “What do you mean, curious? Just sort me already!” She said impatiently, not wanting this to drag out. “Oh it’s not that simple..” The hat said to her, clearly racking its.. brain?
“You know what you want, so clearly you have ambitions. You’d think Slytherin, right? But you also won’t hesitate to throw yourself into danger for what you consider to be right..” Alyss sat on the stool impatiently, waiting for the hat to make its decision already.
As the hat was thinking, she became very aware of the eyes of all the students: on her. She fidgeted with her fingers, awaiting the hats final decision. “I think I was right the first time. No need to fret. I was simply making sure you would fit best in the house I place you in. Best be SLYTHERIN!”
Alyss let out a sigh of relief. It was over. Quickly, she took the hat off of her head, and handed it back to the headmaster. Her hands had stopped shaking. The cheering from the Slytherin table enveloped the room, and she made her way over to the table of her new house, finally feeling like this journey was going her way.

Sorting Ceremony
Hopping out of the boats, Anya could feel nothing but anticipation for the sorting ceremony. Sure, her parents had told her many stories of their time here, but nothing could beat seeing it with her own eyes. Her first glance at the school was incredible. The Hogwarts Castle towered above all the mountains, surrounded by a large lake and vast greenery. The lamps illuminating each boat reflected on the water of the Black Lake. It made her feel so small, but in a good way, in the way that she had so much to explore.
Before she knew it, Anya was already in front of the doors to the Great Hall. The crowd stopped, and there was a brief pause before the doors swung open. Several of her peers gasped out loud, and Anya couldn't help but agree. Thousands upon thousands of dimly lit candles floated above their heads, her seniors crowded around tables seemly stretching miles piled with food, teachers and headmasters sitting dignifiedly at the front of the hall, and everyone in that hall was staring at them.
Anya couldn't help but stare at her seniors as she along with her peers walked in between the table right at the center of the hall. A hundred thoughts were running through her head, but all she could focus on was the fact that she was about to be sorted into her house, which would define her for the next 7 years.
One after another her peers were sorted into their houses, some looking overjoyed, rushing to their tables, while some, not so much, slowly dragging their feet to their house's table. Anya couldn't help but wish she would be one of the prior ones.
"Anya Snezhnaya," the headmaster called out. Snapping her gaze up to meet the gaze of the old man, the slowly dwindling crowd parted, and Anya walked up the stairs and sat on the stool, placing the sorting head on her head.
"Good Evening," Anya thought, feeling comforted that at least she knew the procedure of the Sorting Ceremony from her parents. "I hope you'll place me in a house that's well suited for me."
"Ah, polite. I suppose with Ravenclaw parents like yours you would be well educated. Hmm. Ambition for more, but the courage to pursue," Anya's eyes darted across the hall as the Sorting Hat monologue, everyone was staring at her. "Now where should I put you? Loyal to your morals - best be GRYFFINDOR!"
The Gryffindor table erupted into cheers. Anya breathed a sigh of relief as she took off the hat and put it down on the stool, walking towards the table and sitting down.

Anamika was very excited as she exited the Hogwarts Express. She felt so happy to be finally wearing the Hogwarts uniform. She heard a loud voice calling out to all first-year students. She followed everyone, and there she saw boats waiting for them. She remembered her sister telling her about this. She happily hopped on the boat and when everyone was aboard it slowly took off. They came to a clearing and everyone gasped. Before them was the beautiful castle of Hogwarts. Lights illuminated the castle casting shadows and depts. Anamika could not take her eyes off. It looked so magnificent. She had so much to explore. With a soft thud they reached the shore.
Anamika stood in front of the large doors that led to the Great Hall. The door opened and what they saw was a beautiful huge hall. There were thousands of candles hanging from the ceiling and the ceiling was charmed to look like the night sky. She felt as though she was standing in an open field when she gazed at them. Her gaze then fell on the four tables and the teacher's tables, everything looked so enchanting.
The sorting started right then, and before she knew her name was called. She was nervous. Was there something she needed to do? Her sister always acted mysterious whenever she asked about the sorting. Now she couldn't help but wait anxiously as she put on the hat. But she didn't have to wait long, not a second passed, and she heard a voice. "Hmm Anamika Rajeev... let's see yes there is courage... a lot of courage. There is quite a brilliance too... yes yes... I can see kindness in here... Now where shall I place you... hmm.. How about- GRYFFINDOR!!!!"
Anamika relaxed in her chair, just as the Gryffindor table erupted into cheers. She made her towards the table.

Sorting Ceremony
Elle looked around the massive room in awe, following the other students from the back. She watched as everyone before her was sorted into their houses. She knew a bit about the different houses; but she was mainly versed in Ravenclaws as her older brother, no, her entire bloodline on her magical side had always been Ravenclaw. She figured she'd fit right into the same house as the rest of her family had once been, no doubt about it. But then the doubt started to settle in as the headmaster called her name.
"Elle Crews," the headmaster called out, the room was quiet in an awkward fashion. She guessed she must have spaced out like usual. Now she felt embarrassed, "Am sorry aboot 'at... (I'm sorry about that...)" She apologised. Elle hastily made her way to the sorting hat and took her seat on the stool, gingerly placing the hall on her head. She didn't exactly like the way it felt on her head, but she did her best to not let that be shown.
"What a peculiar child... From the bloodline of Crews. Why, that would make you well educated. To be expected with such a profound older brother like yours, a former Ravenclaw prefect. Ah, but alas! You exude the traits of one who is loyal, courageous, and ambitious in your long-term goals. What to do, what to do... I could put you in either Ravenclaw or Gryffindor... Ah, yes. Yes, I see it now. I know where to put you, child. Yes, this is it. You best be GRYFFINDOR!"
Noisy cheers erupted from the Gryffindor table, causing Elle to cover her ears with mild annoyance.
She felt her heart drop in her chest a bit at hearing her house. She felt like a disappointment, unable to continue the family reputation of all-Ravenclaw. She had become so sure it would be as such! But she didn't express that. Elle sighed and accepted her fate as she placed the hat from atop her head (which she was all the more grateful for) and back onto the stool. She then went over to her designated house's table and took her seat, trying to sit furthest from everyone there (to which she had no good luck with).
Well, Hogwarts was already not what she had been expecting it to be. Part of her made her a bit upset; but most of her felt an odd thrill. Perhaps... It would be far more interesting than she initially anticipated!

Sorting Ceremony
(( Date - September 1st, 2024 ))
Branwen entered the Great Hall. She felt as if the breath was knocked out of her. She was entranced, enthralled, curious.. And also frightened.
While walking in the center of the Great Hall alongside the other First Years, she could not take her eyes off of the floating candles or the ceiling.
The professors of the school stood behind a long table, behind the Owl-like podium.
While awaiting to see what was to come, she listened to Headmaster Solomon Lear's speech about Hogwarts and the different houses, as well as listening to the Sorting Hat as well.
A significant amount of time had passed by with all of the new students getting sorted into the different houses, Branwen was absolutely intrigued in it all. The student sitting upon the stool had been seemingly nervous, "Gryffindor!" the hat exclaimed. She clapped, even though she knew that Gryffindor would not be a house of choice for her, but she knew she herself couldn't decide the outcome, it all depended on the Sorting Hat and fate.
"Branwen Desdemona!" a voice called out. Branwen froze for a few seconds. "Branwen Desdemona!" Her name had been called out again. She thawed out of her ice sculpture stance and started to walk towards the stool and Headmaster that held the Sorting Hat. She gave a nervous smile towards those she was facing, and by the time she knew it, she was sitting on the stool facing the entirety of the other students.
Finally the enchanted hat had landed on top of her head. In this moment she felt a range of emotions, yet never letting it show on her face. She was honored to be here.
"Oh.. A curious mind... Filled with the whimsy of intellect..." The sorting hat had started to say. "Whimsy?" Branwen scoffed at this word, she definitely did not think of herself being someone that had whimsical properties to her. "Not fond of the whimsical depths of your mind, are you?" the hat responded, to which Brandwen did not respond. Her eyes widened, realizing how intuitive the Sorting Hat was.
"Here sits one who has a mind that tends to waltz with secrets," the hat continued on to say "Who has a sharp sense of wit that is unyielding..." Branwen's grip on the stool got tighter, as she started to get more nervous. "A soul that is actively facing fear of the labyrinth paths and open doors of knowledge seeking the truth beyond what the shadows may have to hide.."
Branwen put her head down, she was in such a state of both surprise and confusion. "Seeking? Beyond what the shadows may have to hide? I am not a badger." With her reference to Hufflepuff, the hat continued on, first sending out a soft chuckle "Oh? Not a Hufflepuff? Well, that may be obvious to most, few could have thought differently throughout your existence.. And yet.."
Tensions were running high throughout the hall, it seemed to never stop. Branwen was worried about the Sorting Hat's next sentence, but filled with anticipation to hear it as well.
"Beneath this facade of mystery and sliver defiance lies an intense sense of honesty that pierces through wavering deceit. Clarity of thought that destroys the mask of illusions with unraveling truths with relentless fervor."
As the Sorting Hat was deciding her house, she listened with bated breath. The hat was one of a kind, different sort of fabric.. One that was observant and eerie, it was fascinating.
"Better be in... No.. Not Slytherin.. Although, a mind so sharp that flourishes on challenges" The hat cut itself off.
"Ravenclaw!"
Branwen felt a sort of relief. 'Ravenclaw?' She gave off a slight smile as she turned her head, looking at the Ravenclaw table. Clapping and excitement stewed off of that part of the Great Hall. She raised herself off of the stool and headed towards the respected table, from the corner of her eye she saw Keyadual, her best friend, sitting at the table she was walking toward. They gave each other a nod and Branwen continued over. She had a slight feeling things were going to change.
"Welcome to Ravenclaw!" A few students exclaimed.
She felt she was in the right place, this is where she belongs.

The day had been a whirlwind, so far. Coming from a muggle family, Chris was entirely perplexed by the oddities spread around the country, to help hide the wizarding world from the muggles, however, he'd never truly expected to be confronted with something as awe inspiring as the Great Hall of Hogwarts. The sheer scale of this singular room was enough, let alone the enchanted ceiling, candlesticks and gargantuan tables seating hundreds of students.1st September 2024
Chris inhaled deeply, sharply even, and took stock, his attention fixed solely on the ceiling above. The deep black of night loomed overhead, sparsely interrupted by the distant twinkling of stars and the occasional cloud rolling across the moon. The newcomers sidled into the Great Hall past the Headmaster who had offered his greeting shortly before the doors swung aside. A chorus of gasps and sighs echoed around them for a moment before falling victim to the din and roar of the other students, already sitting at their respective tables.
He remained within the midst of the newcomers, occasionally glancing sideways at his peers. To his dismay, he barely recognised anyone. The trio he had shared a train car with on the journey to the school had disappeared into the faceless masses. He offered a smile and a curt nod to anyone he made eye contact with, his cheeks flushed slightly.
The entire hall fell into silence as the Sorting Hat was produced and it sang it's song. As quickly as the song began, it was over. Chris sighed quietly, he was painfully unaware of what came next. Blood soon began to thunder around his ears as the mass of people around him began to dwindle. Each one sorted into their respective houses to meet their new classmates.
A million and one thoughts quickly ran through the boy's mind; what if he didn't like the people in his house? What if they didn't like him? What if he was sorted wrong? Either way, he barely noticed as his name was called.
"Christopher Clark?!" the second call rang out, draining the thundering blood from his ears and pumping it into his cheeks, which lit up a bright red as he realised what had happened. He quickly shuffled to the front of the mass of newcomers and trod squarely atop the hem of his new robes. He stumbled forwards a few steps, much to the amusement of newcomer and current student alike. Laughter roiled around the Hall before being silenced by a singular raised hand of the Professor stood beside the Sorting Hat.
Chris approached, almost apprehensively, and set himself down upon the stool, in front of everyone. The Professor then placed the Sorting Hat atop his head.
The Oxford boy felt a strange rush and a shiver down his spine as the Hat's voice resounded around in his skull.
"Muggle-born, eh?" It questioned him, barely waiting for an answer, "Notoriously difficult to place, these new families are. Hmm. You certainly have the capabilities for a Ravenclaw, perhaps not the same drive. No, no. Definitely not a Slytherin, either. Not a single cunning bone in your body. Hmm."
Chris sighed, exhaling through his nose. He had a lot to learn.
"Mm. I can see you're loyal to a fault. But your patience lacks a little, isn't that right?" The Hat asked, coolly, the boy's hesitation answer enough. "Not quite, eh? There is a certain warmth in there, I'll say that. There's only one thing for it; better be..."
GRYFFINDOR!
The room, at least the table adorned with crimson and gold, erupted into thunderous cheers, welcoming their new classmate with open arms and beaming smiles.

Sorting Ceremony
Date: Septermber 1st 2024
Lucretcia sat at her table with the other unsorted kids. She felt so awkward wearing the school uniform. The button up and tie not so much as the skirt and the dress flats. With a sigh she tugged at her clothes some and rested her chin in the palm of her hand. Thanks to her last name it was going to be ages until she was called. She saw student after student go up. Some you could tell what house they would be in before the hat was even placed on their heads. Some looked surprised, some looked upset, some looked happy. She couldn't help but think about how little she cared about what house she wound up in. Her mother didn't even go to this school and her father...well what were the chances she had enough in common with him to end up in Ravenclaw?
She idly picked at the table until finally there was a booming "VOLL, LUCRETCIA"
She sighed and got to her feet and made her way up to the front, turning around to look at the sea of kids of all ages as she sat down on the stool. Moments later, the hat set upon her head.
"Ahhhh. Cold indifference eh? not the most common reaction. Rather be anywhere else eh? I see..." The hat started. She couldnt tell if the voice was coming from the hat itself or in her own head, but she felt...seen in a way that made her almost uncomfortable.
"I see you are an artist, the medium matters little Eh? Music, Paint, carvings...you wish to express yourself. Difficult when you don't know who you are...isnt it?"
She grimaced some at that. Who did this hat think it was? It didnt know her...She knew who she was. Right?
"Much to learn, to uncover, discover. There are paths forward to get the recognition you discover. The praise, the glory, the solace. But in order to be the greatest Witch he ever saw...it better be..."
"RAVENCLAW"
Lucretcia felt her blood run cold. Ravenclaw eh? Fitting perhaps...
Feeling a weight on her shoulders as the hat was removed she took a few moments to get to her feet, looking down at her robes as a blue sheen came over them to mark her as a member of her new house. She could already hear her mother Squeeing, She always loved the way blue looked on her little girl. She couldnt help but wonder what reaction, if any her father would have.
Crossing her arms, hugging herself slightly she walked away and towards her table to sit with the fellow Ravenclaw students. she saw them cheering and clapping, a few happy welcomes to the table but her eyes cast downwards as she silently sat among them. She was Pensive...had alot of things to think about.
time would tell if she would be happy here.

Sorting Ceremony
The chatters and giggles filling up the Dining Hall could easily make Seinaru very much nervous. As he had no experience regarding to the wizarding world he couldn't even ask his parents nor with his grandparents to ask because his mother was a squib while his dad was a muggle & his grandparents lived far away from his family & couldn't contact them much due to their own busy schedules.
Seinaru fiddles with his fingers as he was waiting for other students to finish their sorting ceremony as he thought to himself. 'Gryffindor means bravery... Slytherin means ambitious... Ravenclaw means wise & Hufflepuff means diligence. Which would I be in typically?' He decided to keep having his own thoughts to calm himself down as it's a small habit of his.
"Hana, Seinaru." (note: Hana is his family name & Seinaru is his name!)
Deep down, Seinaru's heart was racing. He doesn't even have a friend to talk with or ask about their personal experience about the wizarding world, but he supposes that it's time to depend on himself now. As he walks towards the stool, he sat down but due to his nervousness he almost shook himself to fall. How embarrassing!
As the sorting hat was placed on his head, he attempts to calm down by closing his eyes & his hands were on his lap while it fiddles to calm himself down. "Nervous, I see? Haha, my my! This ought to be interesting."
"Hmm... intriguing. Calm and doesn't pursue to socialise but can lead well. Not mostly focused with knowledge but is still looking forward to any small knowledge that'll be useful. Oh? And you're very determined. Hmm... so many options."
The sorting hat chuckles mischievously. "I don't see myself a Gryffindor nor a Slytherin.." Seinaru mutters to himself.
"Oh really? You seem to already have a decision. But why would you assume that you're not a Gryffindor or a Slytherin? Is it because of your bravery thinning? Or do you assume that all Slytherins are mean which you would then distance yourself by that option?"
"I... both?" Seinaru mumbles awkwardly.
"Let me get this straight--" The sorting hat pauses for a moment.
"Gryffindor. . . you have a strong sense of leadership & though you can't socialise, your mind is very brave to choose the right and excellent choices."
"Hufflepuff. . . your kindness shows but you aren't a people pleaser. That's rare for an 11 year old these days. But you don't show it frequently, not because on purpose, you just want to find the right group of people to be kind to,"
"Ravenclaw. . . the curiosity you hold for some knowledge is quite strong, but not so strong until you crave for the knowledge. But you don't want all the knowledge to be known as you only find the right ones for your own life."
"And for Slytherin. . .what a very strong Slytherin blood, yet your personality is very much opposite to be a Slytherin. Very determined & quite devious. My my, were you a sneaky little boy back when you were younger?"
Seinaru was slightly embarrassed by the secret of his being spilled in front of everyone. "Well, not necessarily. I know when to stop--"
"Yada-yada-yada, interesting... are you ready for your sorting? Maybe I shall put you in the House that you desire, or maybe one that you despise?"
While his mind was still racing, he looked at each dinner table according to each houses. Slytherin, most of them were smirking to see new faces & were mostly nagging about the Gryffindors. Gryffindor, they all roar out of victory to every new first years that are placed into Gryffindor with open arms. Hufflepuff, they seem quite happy and sweet to the people enrolling to it's House and lastly, Ravenclaw, they may not leave a nasty smirk, cheering nor becoming too kind with the new ones, but they all feel pleased to have new faces shown and are delighted to work with them.
'Please be a Ravenclaw or a Hufflepuff, anything but Gryffindor or even worse... a Slytherin..' Seinaru mutters quietly to himself as he clenches his robe, closing his eyes to continue expecting to be in Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff before he hears the sorting hat chuckle.
"Though the selection to each house fits suitably for you, there is one that I shall determine to be your next 7 years on staying in Hogwarts. I believe this shall be a...

Sorting Ceremony
1 September 2024
After a long journey by train and by boat, all the first years arrived at Hogwarts. When the group walked inside the Great Hall Zoey looked around in awe. She had never seen such a beautiful place before.
While the headmaster held his speech, Zoey couldn't concentrate. Thousand thoughts ran through her head, mixed with all sorts of emotions. She was quite nervous for her time here at Hogwarts, as she is a muggle-born witch, and didn't know anything about what she could expect.
Another feeling she had was sadness. This was her first time being away from her parents for so long, and the first time they would miss her birthday, as it was exactly today.
But she, of course, couldn't help to feel excited too. This was a magic school!
Suddenly, she snapped out of her thoughts, as she heard her name being called:
"Ross, Zoey"
Nervously, she walked over to the stool and sat on it. The hat was placed on her head, and then she waited. What would happen now?
She almost fell of the stool when she heard a voice talking to her, it was the Sorting Hat.
"Well, miss Ross. A muggleborn I see. You are a very bright and creative witch, so I think Ravenclaw would be a great house for you. But I know you are also very loyal and hard-working, traits that belong to a true Hufflepuf.
It's a difficult choice, hmmm."
How did he know al of this? He can't just look straight into my mind right? Can he? Maybe he can hear my thoughts?! Zoey was already overthinking everything.
She heard the Hat chuckle in her ear.
"It seems like thinking is one of your hobbies. Maybe it's best to place you in..."
Ravenclaw!
He suddenly yelled across the Great Hall, wich resulted in loud cheers erupting from the Ravenclaw table.
Zoey smiled at the Ravenclaws she now was a part of, jumped of the stool and walked towards the table, joining a few other kids that were just been sorted into Ravenclaw as well.
All of her fears and doubts that she had before were gone as she saw the smiling faces of the older years, catching up with friends about their vacations. She soon would be a part of this joyful group of bright witches and wizards, and maybe she already was.
She couldn't wait for the schoolyear to begin!

Sorting Ceremony
Date-1stSeptember

After a long Train journey, Kenneth was excited to be Sorted. He had learned all about Hogwarts. All about it's house system,Classes,History and bits of Trivia, etc
He knew with certainty that Hufflepuff and Gryffindor were not for him, though he hoped he wouldn't be sorted into Slytherin. He had heard rumors. He hoped to be Sorted into Ravenclaw.
It seemed the perfect house for him.So nervously he stood for sometime Waiting to be sorted. He was experiencing a Variety Of Emotions. One second it was nervousness, then Happiness,Suddenly homesickness,Anxiety, etc. All he Knew as that he hoped To Be in Ravenclaw,Wise and Knowledgeable. It was in that way when his mind was racing that The professor called his name. nervously,he went to the dais and sat on the stool. When the Hat was placed on His head.It did Nothing.Yet after a few seconds,a Old voice asked "Hmm,A difficult One aren't you ,Boy?" I know you wouldn't fit in Gryffindor nor Hufflepuff. Too much philosophy and wisdom for it.How about Slytherin,no you wouldn't be at Home there well, only one choice then."'please be Ravenclaw, pleeeease,I whispered, heart racing,
Ravenclaw!!!
loud cheers were coming from the Ravenclaw table. i was extremely giddy when i went to the table.Deaf to everyone's cheers.
I knew Then that i was at home again.
