The theme of Ancient Greece. Well found ... Personally, I would not have chosen this theme. Greek stories often end badly and I personally don't want to die. Hand in hand with Eloise, we approach this dark place.
She's me wearing the same, a white Greek-style dress, leather sandals, pomegranate earrings, and an ivy-shaped bangle. The only difference is that she has blonde hair and I have black hair. We both walk into the room, The Underworld.
Strangely calm and relaxing music echoes through the room. But it is dark. With Elo, we walk around a bit but I wonder if it's the real party. It's not at all springtime here. Greek theme... There must be a riddle!
But my cousin does not seem to have arrived at the same conclusion as me because she leads me towards the tables on which are enthroned food and drinks. In her place, I would not touch it. It all seems very doubtful to me ... But I bet that even if I tell her she won't listen to me.
- Eloise, don't you find that strange?
She looks at me with attention and curiosity. She wonders what I'm going to tell her. I think for a moment and then start talking.

Winnie's Gown
The dancing blue flames were so enticing that Winnie was half tempted to reach out and touch them. Despite her dreamy nature, she wasn't that daft, so she was content to watch the mysterious fire. Despite the gloomy appearance, her surroundings almost made her want to curl up and take a nap.

She finally broke her gaze away from the flame, and she set her sights on the people who had just entered the ball. All of them were wearing exotic-looking gowns or other stunning attire, except for an older boy who was wearing a t-shirt. She wasn't one to judge, but was there not a dress code for this ball? Oh well, if anyone could pull off wearing a t-shirt to a ball, it was definitely him. Besides, he looked comfortable, which was more than Winnie could say wearing her fluffy ball gown. The blonde girl next to him was gorgeous; she even made Winnie's own heart flutter. It was obvious she had put a lot of time and care into her appearance for the night, and she was very talented. As a smile played on her lips, she was about to step forward and tell her just that, when the two's body language changed and they began to argue.

"Yeah, that's right Alexander Varellion is a psychopath and the rest of you would be better off if you kept your distance also!" The blonde boy shouted.

Winnie had no idea who that was, nor was she going to ask, but she made a mental note to stay away from anyone named Alexander Varellion. She grabbed the end of her ballgown and backed up to give the two room, her eyes were glued to the pair, however, and she didn't watch where she was going. She crashed straight into the person who was right behind her. "Oh! I'm sorry..." She turned to extent her apologies to whomever she had crashed into, but the corners of her mouth turned upwards when she saw Ruka.
"Ruka! Hello!" She said cheerfully, as if she had forgotten what she had witnessed just a moment ago. "You look very nice! Is that a bedsheet?" She asked, referencing his Chlamys, "Oh, I'm sorry, I meant... Did you make it out of one? It's brilliant." Her cheeks were burning red, and she wondered why she didn't think before speaking. "You look very handsome, Ruka, but it's the Blossom Ball, right? Where are your flowers?" She suddenly reached up to pluck a flower out of her own hair and slid it behind Ruka's ear. "There, now you look... Even handsomer!"

A spectacle, a drama, a tyrant’s screams, and stomps more akin to a dangerous toddler throwing a temper tantrum as an altercation started between him and Marion, who always seemed to look beautiful at every event. Indeed, something that would soon be ruined. She was not any less to blame a child fighting over her toys, never truly capable of deciding which one to leave on the shelf. The older Ravenclaw snapped at Santario, and the whole room, while she had not even opened her mouth yet. It would be enough to draw her away from her intended fascination with the blue fire.

Would she have had he not said anything to her? Probably not; she would have seen this as just another chance slipped away to confront the boy. Once more, she would have tried again later, but no. Vlad instigated with her and the whole room, so could she let it go? Riding off an undefeated duelling high coupled with deep anger that she had shoved down way too long. Her hand felt her wand sitting in the pocket San had sewn into every outfit that would not accommodate it adequately, but that would be a mistake. Drawing on Vlad right now was not the right kind of move, and it certainly would not get her what she wanted in the long run; it would only make him harder to contact. So instead, she took a more strategic route.

Instead, Santario sighed and shook her head softly. “It is always too much to hope to acquire a simple conversation with you. Perhaps, next time.” The French-accented words commented offhandedly as she walked away. Maybe it was better that she could never ask him the things she wanted to ask him. Perhaps she needed to learn to let it go, but chances of that were doubtful at best. This did involve her parents, after all. She had sewn the seed of interest; whether it bloomed enough to take his interest, time would tell.

At this point, more people had entered the Underworld, some she knew of and others she did not. Those sapphire eyes of hers slid back towards the darkened corner, and the candle reminded her of the dream she had when she fell down the well in the dungeons. She was not sure exactly why, but it did.

There had been a dreadful stalemate in Eden’s life as of recent. Nothing of interest had particularly happened, or keen enough for him to feel some sort of thrilling excitement. The only thing that had sparked up some sort of hope was Summer coming in closer and closer - but even that joy had started to die out as time continued to pass by. Everything was grey and dull as the wintery clouds of Scotland. The monotony in his life had become irritating enough for Eden to truly start giving up on most things.

But that was until the announcement had been made - an announcement of a wonderful event set to spark up the lives of wizards and witches attending Hogwarts. The idea of it seemed odd and unbelievable at first, but Little Ed was more than willing to try and find some sort of sparkle in the darkness that hushed him to solitude every day. Balls were an excellent opportunity to showcase what one was representing. And so as it happens, Eden enjoyed having the spotlight on him, glimmering and flicking like a diamond. As was his solemn duty as heir to the pure-blooded House of Gardener.

Though upon his arrival, Eden realized that this was no ordinary ball. He was used to elegant locations decorated with the finest materials and patterns of flowers and vines shielding every window, mannequins of knights wearing silver and golden armour, chandeliers brighter than the sun. But this was the complete opposite. Darkness hovered over the entirety of the space provided with only a speckle of blue light providing hope for those who sought a way. It almost felt like Eden had his eyes closed, and had he been stupid, he’d probably have to check whether or not they actually were. Thankfully, he was not.

The young unseasoned boy walked in with his back straighter than a ruler, one of his hands supported his back as the other laid down gently on his left hip. His hair as gallant as always after countless hours of combing it to perfection, there was not one single flick of hair that was not in place. Fittingly enough, he smelled like spring - of pink flowers and roses, and to make certain he was living up to the expectations of the Greek theme, he wore an illuminating gold vest made of the finest satin in the markets. It reached up to his neck and if not tucked beneath his breeches, it covered nearly half his legs too. The sleeves of the shirt had some flamboyancy fashioned to them as they were plumpy and cinched to flow as he moved. The focus was most definitely on the top part of the outfit, but his breeches followed the same excellence of quality in pitch-black velvet with adoring thorns of gold widely spread across the material. His shoes were just as dark and had the same matching pattern accompanied by a pair of solid white socks. His fingers were decorated with a couple of golden rings gemmed with rose quartz and pearls, and around his wrist was a leaf crown bracelet.

The inspiration behind his fashion choice was the Goddess of Harvest and mother of nature - Demeter. She was everything that Eden had a passion for, and though the first-year did not particularly find Greek mythology or their gods interesting enough to make personal research about them, he still was intrigued by the idea of it, and any chance to wear gold was an opportunity to be seized.

Without further ado, Eden made further steps into the hollowing pit of darkness that sent shivers down his spine, any courage that he tried to show or build up served no purpose anymore. And the whispering coming from a short distance made the atmosphere even more frightening.

Opeila had seen the many invitations around, the gods' names coded in numbers and her first reaction had been a deep, very deep sigh. Had it not been enough? Had there not been enough terror at every single event organized by the castle's inhabitants? Well, it didn't seem like the others saw it that way. Hogwarts had been again buzzing with excitement, even more at this awesome theme. That was something the Slytherin appreciated as well. She wasn't very deep into greek mythology, but there had always been a shallow fascination.

So in the end she did go. Her friends were surely going and if something went wrong, she wanted to be around and help. Yes, that was her excuse. And then she even had a date! Well... no date really, she had asked Zyk in class if they wanted to go as friends. Opeila had still not recovered from Percival enough that she could get in a new relationship. And there was too much going on in her life for her to risk that constant distraction.

For the ball only Opeila had left her hair in its natural color. For the first time in a while brown strands instead of red ones were falling down her back in soft waves, a simple gold hairclip holding it out of her face. She had managed to order a white dress with a glittering belt from Madam Malkin's a while ago together with some flat sandals. Honestly, Opeila had never been able to understand how girls in her age could wear high heels. That just had to be so uncomfortable!

Other than that she decided not to wear too much jewelry. Her belt was glittering and her hairclip was decorative as well, no need to put on more. And then... The purple bracelet fell into her hands, the one she had been given as a gift at the last blossom ball. The young Slytherin had spent a lot of time cleaning it after the train crash, in which it got stained by both hers and Vladimir's blood. She wasn't sure why she was wearing it now, what she was trying to prove. Maybe it was just that she was wearing it in situations that had nothing to do with Vlad. Opeila found the bracelet pretty and she was trying hard not to associate it with this troublesome fourth year anymore.

The Slytherin arrived at the location before her Gryffindor friend and decided to wait at the side. That was until she heard the screaming. Were things already going wrong? Opeila entered the darker place a little further, looking for the source of the screams.
Well- how could it be any different, Vladimir was involved. And personally Opeila had no desire to be the same, so she walked away from it, grabbing a glas filled with... something that had a weird scent. For a few seconds she eyed it suspiciously, before she just drank it. This event had been organized with permission of the professors, surely they would not offer any dangerous stuff here.

Opeila was too busy not paying attention to the drama that was already unfolding around her to recognize the familiar dressed up person next to her, that was also not clever enough to stay away from weird smelling unknown drinks.
Action: Waiting for Zyk, drinking one of those ominous drinks.

“It is always too much to hope to acquire a simple conversation with you. Perhaps, next time.”

Santario Martin would announce, a Slytherin girl he vaguely knew of. The school was a complicated place, a mixture of purebloods and common bloods with politics mixed in. He would not answer San immediately, in the midst of his personal battle. She would get a delayed and somewhat rude "get in line" grunted at her.

Marion only meant to hurt him. To make him angry. Her mission was accomplished, he was both hurt and angry. He was more than both of these things, scared for her. Hogwarts was a dangerous place and Mary had no sense of self-preservation. From taking a ride on that Gryffindor's broom during the fall ball that left her shattered on the floor, her bones hollow like a bird. Looking at her broken on the dancefloor was an image he never wanted to see again.

Alexander was dangerous, something like Marion that he could not reason with. He was seeking a dark power that was beyond either of them and he was paying the price of this knowledge in blood. Self-serving and dangerous, he would have gotten himself or someone else killed. Thankfully only a few animals suffered the consequence of crossing paths with a madman. While his ambition might have been forgotten, the potential would always be there. Knowing how that he was here with Marion, it was apparent that Alexander had intentions.

Marion's protests would fall onto deaf ears. "Do you think he just decided to be your friend?" Vladimir was not being quiet about this. "In a school where they would rob us to satiate curiosity?" Like they had. "In a place where they burned Victor alive?" She knew as well as Vladimir did the monstrous potential of their peers. Something that Vic's final hours also echoed, in fact it was what he depended on. He glanced coldly at those that stood idly by and watched this scene out of some perverse form of curiosity.

"If you wanted to date me, you could have! You had your chance!"

She had never said that before. It was an unspoken knowledge between them that he had harbored affection towards her. In fact, he still did but he would deny himself these sentiments. He cared for her but he could not love her, at least in the romantic sense. It was toxic. They were bad for one another and what affections he still had for her clouded his judgement. The fact that she was manipulating him, that she had been for years. She would tug at his emotions, his sympathies and yes, his want for her.

"Now put me down and let me enjoy my date with the guy I want to be with!"

Yes, trying to hurt him and hurt him she had. He had far too much pride to admit his pain, so he replied out of anger and frustration. "You stupid girl, I am not trying to date you. I am trying to save your stupid life!" He had devolved to calling her names. In truth, he did not see her as particularly clever but it was a truth he had kept to himself. She was smarter than she let on, and she knew more than she ever admitted. In some ways she was unwitting the genius youth and she was enjoying every second of it.

Vladimir's words were getting simpler, he was getting frustrated. "GAH!" A fist in the tender part of his back, near his spine would send a wave of electric-like pain down one of his legs. "For the love of Eros, I am not even hurting you," less the rough grip of her forearm at the start of this encounter. Not that it mattered or changed his perspective as he condemned her as if he was speaking to a petulant child. Not that is stopped her for thumping him on the back, useless theatrics as it was it would earn him the ire of a few more peers who might have been indifferent to him before. They would now see him as the tyrant rather than a concerned friend saving someone from a situation that would devolve.

He would ultimately set her down, she dared him to do what he had done to so many others. Something that he sorely wanted to do out of aggression, because he could. In the end it was something he could not find himself capable of doing. She was wild, she was stupid and she was dangerous but she was also his friend. He had a sense of loyalty and care for her that an argument would not so easily erase. Had he known the full truth, he would have come to a different conclusion on this day. If he had known the true extent of her manipulations and their terrible outcomes. He did not and he would drop her, leaning forward so that she would land on her feet. He would not let her fall, if she played the dramatic damsel about to he thrown onto the ground he would prevent that by grabbing her shoulder to 'steady' her.

"You're right, but it makes you no less an idiot Mary. Alex is the sort of dangerous you spend a lifetime avoiding, not invite into your bed" metaphorically speaking of course as they are far to young for otherwise. "You saw what he was doing, what he did. And that is what we know of." He sounded exasperated because he was. He had other reasons to be here at the ball and dealing with Marion's pitiful attempt to get a rise from him (that was more effective than he would ever admit) would prove to be only a distraction. He let go of the Slytherin and backed away. "Don't forget to take your medicine," he muttered as he shook his head.

He would leave Marion standing there, waiting for her 'date'.

As soon as he heard Vlad's voice among the students to enter the 'Underworld', Jack wanted to be off after him. However, several things hindered him - one, his clip-clopping hooves which he was still having difficulty getting used to walking in since they were very similar to high heels in how they required him to balance. Two was Ruka, who he had told he would meet first thing before running off into the party. And three - bumping into the flower-smelling student who Jack at first thought was Flash but soon realized was actually another less familiar boy - Eden Gardener.

The last time he had seen him was at a different ball; one much less extravagant than this one. He had been wearing much less extravagant clothing, too. Eden's gaudy gold and jewelry caused the second year to grimace inwardly. Outwardly, however, he sneered and clip-clopped right up to the platinum blonde.

"Why, what is it that smells so divine?" Jack asked the air seemingly, sniffing nearer and nearer to Eden until he was in the other boy's personal space. "A flower nymph, perhaps? How fortunate I am! To lay eyes on such a beauty!"

He batted his lashes flirtatiously at Hufflepuff. "Are you here with anyone tonight, my sweet? Or do I have the pleasure of keeping you all to myself?"

(Based on Claude from Fire emblem, edited by Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood)

(Just some nice background music for Alexander)
Before going to the blossom ball, Alexander inspected himself in the mirror. Appraising himself in the mirror, his head angled slightly sideways whilst his eyebrows were furrowed in concentration.

He had to admit, he had not imagined it to be so, but he looked good in the outfit. It might be somewhat on the edge of being 'cringy' or being too much, but in his humble opinion it worked. Which was well enough since he had worked up to this for quite some time. Essentially since the moment that he had begun courting Marion. Knowing that if he wished to be successful in his goal, his best bet was to go for a prince charming look. Which was something that this outfit should work with. Unfortunately, this outfit had been prepared months beforehand. Based on a piece of advertisement he had seen in the muggle world during his uncomfortable awkward vacation with his parents. Something which he usually dreaded, but ignored whilst at school. He had then bought some similar-looking materials at a few cheap stores with the little pocket money he had left after buying muggle food supplies. Of course, with makeshift tools and low-quality materials, it looked absolutely terrible. Something you would never take to a ball.

But luckily he had access to something called magic, and specifically the multicorfors spell. The spell did not change the material properties of the clothing beyond the minimum, but it changed its appearance. Thus, after a large number of spell casts and a strong amount of visualization, Alexander had been able to get his current outfit. Truly it was surprising how much you can do with some creativity, a little funds and a whole lot of magic. Actually, it was not that surprising, but it still looked good. He just prayed that no one cast Finite on his clothes whilst at the balls. Admittedly that scenario was highly unlikely, but would also be highly embarrassing.

Taking a deep breath, Alexander walked out of the Slytherin bathroom and made his way towards the blossom ball. Whilst he walked, his mind went through the plans he had for the blossom ball. And specifically the contingency meeting he had with Aida about 2 hours before. Where they discussed a plan of action of what to do in case things turned violent and they had to make an escape. There was also some discussion on Marion, and what the plan was in regards to her, but they had cut that line of conversation short (or more accurately Alex had). In response to the blank face, Aida had when he spoke of the subject. As well as the thick atmosphere of tension in the abandoned classroom.

The general plan was to interact with Marion, get closer to her and perhaps interrogate her for information (at least subtly). Whilst the general plan was to avoid Vladimir since he was the more unknown and unpredictable factor. But generally, beyond the extraction plan, there was not much they could do. Because if there was *one* universal law in Hogwarts it was this 'You never know what will happen in a blossom ball.' Although this was somewhat untrue, you knew there would be violence in some way, you just didn't know how.

As passed from the castle itself to the grounds, following the slow trickle of students, Alex could not help but think about Marion. Their situation was.... complicated. Of course, the basis of it was truly pragmatic and manipulative from Alexander's point of view. He needed information, information that she might have. A part of him was missing, yet he knew not what it was. His memories were gone, and whenever he thought about it Alex could not help but feel this iron grip on his gut. This sense of guilt, even if he did not know what he had done. This iron grip in his stomach, when he knew that he had done something wrong, but he did not know what. Initially, she had just been that, and at its core she still was. Yet he could not deny, that whenever he saw her he felt something. He suspected what it was, yet again, he did not know.

Was it the most famous of all emotions? Or was it just a hint of recognition? It was not easy to determine, as a large part of his reference material (ages 11-13) was missing. His memories of his emotional development. But what he couldn't deny nor claim ignorance of, was the fact that he had grown to actually like the conversations he had with Marion in the common room. Grown to like her wit, her humour, but most of all her optimism. How she looked out on life. He also saw that she was sad and lonely, still hurting from the death of Victor, but he admired her outlook. That even though all that happened in her life, she tried to maintain a positive outlook. A trait which he sadly did not have. But perhaps due to that absence he could admire it even more.

These thoughts were drawn to a close as he arrived at the location of the ball itself. A quite ominous setting, one which made him feel a shiver across his spine. As he got flashes of drawing in a journal, of a man in a dark hat and of dark insects. He then shook his head, banishing the thoughts from his mind. Then, he heard something in the distance 'Yeah, that's right Alexander Varellion is a psychopath and the rest of you would be better off if you kept your distance also!' Something which quickly attracted his attention, as he saw the pair of Marion and Vladimir Athanatos standing together. Well standing was a strong word, it was closer to being dragged away. This caused Alexander's blood to pump faster, as he saw how Athanatos manhandled Mary. He quickly rushed in their direction, he did not catch anything else but his last two sentences, during which he had released his grip on Marion. But two sentences which certainly piqued his interest. "You saw what he was doing, what he did. And that is what we know of." and "Don't forget to take your medicine,"

The former sentence was more interesting to him personally, but the latter had more potential hidden depth. It could just be a casual reminder, but it could also be a threat of some sort ? He did not know.

Ironically arriving almost immediately after Vladimir had left Alexander arrived next to Mary, genuine concern (for once) shining through in his eyes. "Are you alr-" Before he broke off and muttered. "No that's a stupid question." Instead Alexander cleared his throat and delicately went forward to put his hands on Marion's right hand. "Do you want to talk about this? Do you want to enjoy the party or do you want to do something else? "

"I saw a little of what was going on and heard some of what Vladimir said. I don't know the context in which he said it, or why he did what he did, but right now I am here for you. "

"If you want to enjoy the night and try to forget this, that is fine. If you want to talk and take your time, that is fine. If you want to do something else entirely, like just talk about quidditch that is fine. It is all your choice."

The tantrum that Vlad threw caught the attention of quite a few students, including one with a camera who began to snap pictures from afar. She watched, intrigued, but before she could even hope to get closer to the action, the young man who started the whole business began to move off to another area. Eris huffed, frustrated that the event was over before she'd even gotten a chance to figure out what had been happening to cause it in the first place.

Just then, however, her gaze alighted upon someone who she had briefly seen with the Ravenclaw before he'd left. She was a young lady with little gold snakes woven into her hair and Eris marveled at her outfit. Expression suddenly, ecstatic, she hurried over to the girl in her own Greek sandals and clasped her hands in her own, allowing her camera to fall and swing at her side by the strap it dangled from.

"What an amazing outfit! Medusa, right? I absolutely adore it!" she gushed, her own countenance ripe with color and excitement. "You look marvelous! What made you think of doing Medusa? Do you like snakes? Was it her story? It's terribly sad, don't you think?" She glanced about with a suddenly sheepish smile. "Not that sadness is all that uncommon among Greek tales..."

After minutes of dreadless waiting for the atmosphere to take a twist and become more lively, Eden had started to become impatient, to a point where his feet had started tapping on the ground on their own accord. His fingertips tapped against the satin of his blouse in synchronization. However, these acts resulting in tediousness had become more aggressive when a more clear and loud sound started to come nearer. At first thought, Eden thought that a carriage had arrived, knowing well that there were foreign students present, it would have been no surprise. However, when the boy turned around to satisfy his curiosity, what he found was a rather shocking revelation.

Not only was... this... thing shoving itself in front of him, but he was also weird... and odd. It put Little Ed at a sudden discomfort and he couldn't help but turn red at such comments. His white brows furrowed naively and his fingers cringed as he felt his bones cracking swiftly. For a second or two, he couldn't even utter a word - whoever this was must have been playing some sort of theatrical role, right? There was absolutely no way someone was genuinely willing to do this. The Hufflepuff was confused at best, and after his pure reaction made it clear that he was not captivated, he proceeded to open his mouth, two of his fingers pushing away the horned boy's face by the chin.

"Uh, what do you think you're doing?" Eden asked in a rather disgusted tone, his neck moving backwards slowly, the rest of his body following. "Well someone has to smell nice - the only scent I can catch off of you is that of old socks and grass after being watered by a dog." Eden froze, hoping that this nuisance would soon realize what he truly was. But naturally, he had to persist on being a pest.

"I came here alone, for reasons you seem to prove true, and if anything, you make me not regret such decision," Eden spoke his mind freely, not holding back anything. Though if he had the opportunity to be accompanied by someone proper and of his standards then he'd be more than willing to do so. It was always a thrill to have someone at your side most times during such eventful events. But by eventful, Eden did not think of mere acquaintances asking for his hand while dressed up as fabled creatures.
