Tonight was the work of a whole lot of preparation and a whole lot of stupidity. Lots of work, and one pair of curtains taken from an unsuspecting teachers classroom. Cass had even ditched their green pajamas for this, and come dressed in casual wizarding clothes that were slightly more suited to trying to catch rocks falling from the sky with a cauldron strapped to their head. That's right, today they would be playing the ancient wizarding game of Creaothceann that was banned for some reason. Probably all the deaths.

This slightly questionable idea was born of conversations in the Slytherin common room with Prat, and they were very excited to finally play the game. They had brought their broom and cauldron along, all ready to start catching rocks falling from the sky. The Quidditch Training Pitch seemed to be the perfect location as well, with it being just the right distance from the school that it was easy to get to but hard to spot from the windows. Yesterday in between classes they had hidden a large amount of small rocks they had found around the grounds under the benches, and with the curtains already obtained they were all ready to go once everyone else showed up.

It was a sort of open invitation really- Cass had invited a few people to play a "really fun game", Prat had probably invited a few people of his own, and those people had invited other people. The more the merrier when it came to Creaothceann. It was going to be so fun. Maybe not a normal persons idea of fun, but certainly Cass's. The more stupid of the idea, the more it seemed to appeal to them. A little common sense had been exercised here though, as an older student had been invited along to heal people after they had been hit in the head by rocks and fallen off their brooms (or even stop them from hitting the ground in the first place, if she felt nice enough).

They began to load the rocks into the curtain in a sort of sling, just for something to do with their hands. Waiting around wasn't an activity that they enjoyed. In fact, anyone who knew them well would notice that they hated it even. Cass was not a person who liked being still and doing nothing. The others better hurry up and arrive soon, or they were going to have to conduct a break in to the other houses common rooms to drag them here themself.

Weeks of Preparation and planning was about to come to fruition tonight. It tooks lots of blood, sweat and possible sneaking into a classroom for this to all come together. Prat had already changed into his comfy clothes and then switch right back to his slytherin robes, hoping that it would put off anyone suspecting anything. He was afterall about to be the ring master for something that might have potential backlash upon him and his fellow companions. The idea was CREAOTHCEANN, a game of flying, similar to quidditch with a few rules he had modified with Prat to ensure the participants would live to see the day.

Afterall his friends were taking part in this game, he would not wish harm upon them unless it could be fixed with a spell or a potion. Breaking a few bones in this manner was thus fine and something everyone sort of understood as a potential event that might happen. His work was to ensure everything went smoothly and none of his friends died or got an injury that could not be fixed. To ensure this, they had even asked for Alyssea's attendance at the game, not as a player but as a medic. Sure they would have her fly on a broom if she wanted, but he doubted if she could heal someone if she herself lied fainted across the field.

It had taken a lot of time and effort along with getting a scheming Partner, Cass to finally achieve this all. The Quid pitch now chosen as the perfect destination instead of the Astronomy tower, addition of brooms as well as the choice to have stones much lower in the air as compared to the original game's 100 ft rule. Curtains stolen borrowed, brooms collected, rocks found. They were all set for the beginning of the game, all that remained was waiting as their friends and their friends would find their way towards the pitch.

What started as a secret game for 4-5 people had inadvertently become a huge game as word of mouth spread even in the hush hush of friend groups, to an extent where the game had to be made simply as an open invitation of sorts to everyone who was interested and understood the possible consequences their choice might bring. The idea of bringing a healer with the ever-expanding lists of participants seemed smarter and smarter by the addition of each student that signed up. The rumors had even reached enough year six where some of them even joined. Prat was not expecting this, all he thought he would have to witness was a bunch of year three or year two students going at it. On the other hand, now they had experienced people on the list and might just get to witness a masterclass or a complete doodoo of a performance. Either way Prat awaited the beginning.

Arriving there, Cass was already loading rocks up into curtains for a sling before tied the top together, holding the knot with it's own cloth before trying out levitation on it. Prat was hoping no one forgot their broom or their cauldrons as the game time came closer. Would they ditch the game possibly? could that be the reason not everyone is here or Perhaps Cass and Him were too early and were now suffering the consequences of being too eager.

"OWOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" Colin charged into the quidditch training pitch in unusually high spirits! Creaothceann! Why hadn't anyone thought of this brilliant idea before? He'd played it as a young kid at home and of course the older lads did as well. Until they started getting into that boring English game, quidditch! But creaothceann was pretty nearly tops of all wizarding sports! It combined features of broom racing, duelling and quidditch into a fun game where you tried to catch rocks or balls or anything lying about with a cauldron on your head! It was even a little like huggleba, a local game, which also involved whacking the rocks and balls with yer hurling stick! The only difference was in huggleba, you had to balance on your broom whilst playing!

Once Colin got to the pitch, he found Cass and Prat already there. "Oi laddies! This is gonna be grand! Brilliant idea, you two, a wee game of creaothceann! We play a game like this at home. Brutal. Not like quidditch which is for sissies!" Colin loped over towards his fellow Slytherins. "Coo, nice rocks!" Colin reached into his enchanted satchel and pulled out a long stick. It's handle was wrapped with leather of some kind and the business end was flat, slightly turned and looked sort of like a paddle.

Picking up a rock from the now dwindled pile, he tossed it in the air and caught it on the end of the stick. He bounced it on the end a few times while darting about. "UWOO! Lúthmhar!" He laughed merrily and from a short distance away, gave the stone a smart whack with the paddle! It soared through the air and landed with a clack and a rattle in the sack full of stones Cass was collecting.

"Right!" called Colin as he trotted back to the others. "So, when do we start?" He began pulling bits of kit out of his satchel. His helmet, with a cauldron firmly attached. Gloves. A few bits of leather padding. And of course the all important Lads Best Protective --- because Colin had learned his lesson after being whacked by his broom in almost every race he'd been in! "Or is it just us three?"

Colin set about helping with the remaining rocks, waiting for anyone else who might show up.

Aleksandra had no idea how she got involved into this and yet she was not alone. Recap the young girl was hounded by a certain Slytherin that she met close to the end of the school year last year Cass Ito they were beyond annoying pestering the platinum haired girl constantly she had no idea why nor did she really care. At the end of the day the girl caved and agreed to do this silly broom thingy that Cass was so pleasantly pleading Aleksandra to do.

Of course Aleksandra was not alone not in the slightest she had a certain ginger haired girl with her of course Aleksandra went to Astra Norrick for this though she still did not fully trust the girl she seemed decent enough to keep company and keep nearby encase the girl ever decided to turn against those that she seemed to value. Not only that Astra seemed to be rather decent company for the young girl to have not only that if the platinum haired girl needed someone to tag along with her she did not mind having Astra of course she would have chosen others that she was fairly close to but that was out of the equation at this very moment.

Aleksandra was walking towards the quidditch pitch with Astra in tow the two girls wore matching dinosaur hoodies. Why in the world were they wearing dinosaur hoodies easy answer Aleksandra asked kindly if Astra had any cloaks or jackets to keep their heads covered and hidden while walking through the grounds sense they had to be careful not to be caught, along with the fact that Cass mentioned throwing rocks the young girl wanted to at least make the young girls kept there faces safe from harm and alas that is how the platinum haired girl was walking down towards the quidditch pitch adorning a dark moss green dinosaur hoodie with vibrant orange spikes adorning it. While the young girl had her hair tied up in a high bun, even though one could not really see her platinum bright as the sun hair besides a few strands framing her face while her cold gray eyes held no emotion like a lion nearing it's prey ready to strike. The young second year held her personal broom in hand. Of course the young girl refused to use any other broom she preferred hers plus the school brooms were rather old and rickety to the young girl definitely not to her liking.

Aleksandra neared the quidditch pitch with the Astra still in tow as the girls seemed to walk in silence. Of course Aleksandra preferred the silence at the same time the young girl also thought that if her and the other Slytherin girl arrived with the cold aura around them maybe they'll get this over with quickly win whatever silly thing this is and enjoy a nice cup of tea and chatter back in the dorms. A cup of tea did sound pleasant and of course maybe Aleksandra could see if Astra would prefer having a sleep over in her dorm the girls could discuss how idiotic this thing truly was.

Once Aleksandra arrived at the quidditch pitch the young platinum haired girl glanced around a look of pure annoyance on her fair skin. The young girl overheard an obnoxious howling from an older student with pale blonde hair. Scowling Aleksandra seemed to think how this school truly was full of idiots. Glancing to her side the young girl seemed bored glancing at Astra before glancing over to the other two students standing in the pitch. One being the infamous Cass of course Cass was the major reason the girl showed up anyways with the constant begging and pleading Cass seemed worse than Tommy and that was saying a lot for sure.

Aleksandra stepped forwards closer to the bunch, her gray eyes narrowed like daggers stabbing into a glacier. The dino hoodie rested calmly atop of her small head while the girl seemed to be the shorter at the moment in the group the air around her did not seem pleasant of course she honestly just wanted to finish this go back to her dorm and sleep this was definitely not on her bucket list and of course she had no idea if anyone else will be joining this game.

Aleksandra knew one thing this was not going to be a peaceful game especially if Cass was involved.

Sneaking out after curfew wasn't new for the badger. She had done it once before to meet Clark by the lake and came out unscathed, but it didn't mean she liked doing it. If anything, she came here purely out of obligation and curiosity; what was this broom sport that was supposedly forbidden and highly dangerous that Prat would need her to play field medic? With the location being the Quidditch training pitch, she had half a mind to think it was just a silly game of Quidditch. However, seeing the players with cauldrons strapped to their heads was the farthest thing from Quidditch.

As she entered the pitch, a tote bag with potions and her Silver Arrow in hand in case she had to do any flying (which she doubted), she made herself known to Prat by giving him a two-finger salute on the forehead. There weren't many people at the pitch yet, but she recognized someone. It was hard to miss short white hair and a zeal for life. "Colin! Long time, so see. And no, I'm not playing," she chuckled, "Just here to heal anyone from the ground. Guess I'll go position myself."

She nodded her head in greeting to the two other students. "I'm Alyssea, Third year student." She trailed off. Was she supposed to say more? Something about her role? Alyssea already said to Colin what she was doing, so the others probably heard.

With an empty mind, Alyssea sighed and headed off. She resigned herself to a dark corner of the pitch on the benches where second-strings usually sat. She felt a bit like a vigilante, an underground hero that you would never realize was there until they did something. The potions rung as they collided in her bag but they never shattered. Hopefully she wouldn't have to use these, but it was Hogwarts.

The moon was shyly appearing in the starry sky when Elena stepped out of her dorm. She took a moment to admire the various shades of blue displaying in front of her before turning around and rushing down the stairs. Tonight was the night. A few time ago, her friend Cass had invited her to a special - and not very legal - event, a remix of the infamous Creaothceann. She immediately loved the idea. They have a bad influence on me. A year ago, she would have refused straight ahead anything that wasn't in the school rules. But following the rules is boring, sometimes.

However, her newfound boldness hadn't completely taken over, and a familiar sense of anxiety still gripped her stomach. Shutting her thoughts down, she took one last look at her equipment. She had just thrown a dark blue hoodie over her usual comfy outfit - a pair of jeans and a white t shirt - and braided her hair. Blonde locks were surronding her face, her braid was a little messy but would do the job. Last but not least, she turned to grab her brand new broom.

She still couldn't believe it. While inviting her to their game, Cass, knowing she didn't have a broom, offered her a Comet 180. A large grin split her face as she remembered the moment. They are too nice. I really need to find a way of thanking them properly. Words weren't enough for the gratitude she felt towards her friend. Almost hopping down the stairs, she quickly remember to be quiet. Using her sixth sense, she quietly went down to the Quidditch pit, ears out for any unusual noise.

Arriving on the field, she quickly spotted them. A huge smile on her face, she ran to them, stopping last minute before colliding. "Cass !" she exclamed, waving at them. A bit too excited, maybe. She calmed herself, taking a short breath and smiling. "Hey. Nice to see you." Turning around, she noticed a familiar brown haired boy, his eyes circled by glasses. "Prat," she nodded. "Hey again." They had met during summer camp, and interacted another time near the great lake. Shrugging, she turned towards the other persons.

Two platinum haired and a brunette were standing around the field. Waving at them, Elena smiled. "Hello !" She said while looking at each of them. "My name is Elena, nice to meet you." The boy was very tall, and seemed excited for the upcomming game. The brunette seemed nice, but a somewhat reserved. She wasn't standing near the others, and had a huge bag, which made Elena wonder about her role. The last girl seemed intimidating, but the dino hoodie she was wearing slighlty broke that image. Her eyes look like mine. Elena nodded at all of them, slighlty tugging on her silver locket, before walking closer to the pile of rocks, examining it. This is going to be fun.

Ronan knew he'd break curfew eventually, but not in his first month at Hogwarts. Sneaking out of the Gryffindor Common room successfully was pure luck, but it wasn't easy. As he stepped out of the Gryffindor Tower, The Fat Lady surprised him with a comment, "Waking me up at this hour, from my beauty sleep, typical first years." Navigating the numerous marble staircases had become a challenge, as it typically took him fifteen minutes to descend from the Gryffindor Tower to the Great Hall. Ronan had to stealthily navigate the marble staircases tonight, avoiding detection by a Perfect as he was making his way down.

A mild wind swept over him as he made it outside, causing his cheeks to turn slightly red from the heat he had just experienced inside the castle. Still uncertain about his decision, Ronan proceeded from the castle to the Quidditch pitch, possibly engaging in a game known as Creaothceann. He'd barely even learned how to ride a broom; maybe it would be an opportunity to get better, Ronan thought for himself. A short while later, he'd made it inside the Quidditch Pitch, a bit surprised that he'd not tripped over anything in the dark; to his luck, the moon shined brightly tonight.

The first person he saw was Prat, whom Ronan had heard held this event after curfew in the hallways. Ronan's expression shifted slightly, becoming more serious and competitive as if the lion within him was causing adrenaline to surge through his body. Who he spotted next didn't make this expression different; it was Cass. The Slytherin student he encountered at Platform 9/3 was the one he'd unintentionally treated cruelly, simply due to Ronan's lack of reflection. It might've been better if Ronan had met someone else on the platform, but then again, it probably wouldn't have changed much.

Ronan was wearing his Gryffindor uniform and a hand-knit sweater underneath, which his mom had made for him last Christmas. Wearing black pants and poorly tied black Converse, Ronan included a few jelly beans in his uniform as a precautionary measure in case he became hungry during the event. Ronan attempted to project a calm demeanor towards his peers, even though he was anything but calm. Ronan glanced at the other students, most of whom he had seen in the hallways or Great Hall, but he was still unfamiliar with their names. "Evening everyone," he finally said, after standing there for a few moments, looking at what the other students were doing. He gestured around the pitch, attempting to project an image of friendliness and extroversion. Ronan, still uncertain about his commitment, allowed his gaze to roam the pitch, observing the strategically placed rocks on the field.

Coming to the training pitch at night was a familiar feeling. Silver Arrow notched over his shoulder and cauldron dangling in his other hand, Avery enjoyed the cool, refreshing breeze as he strode across the field easily. Flying at night had been one of his favorite pastimes, and when there was company, they never failed to disappoint.

He was initially surprised that Shakestra -- out of all people -- would think to bring up a game that included flying. To be sure, he had underestimated the spunk in that kiddo - gosh, was she a second year now? As a firstie, she had clutched onto her broomshaft like a cat digging its claws for dear life, trying not to fall into the bathtub. Now, she was challenging him to join a flying game? And teaming up to win together? He had to admire her guts. Additionally, he had laughed heartily and accepted the challenge, genuinely eager to see how much their new second-string beater had improved her flying skills. As much as he didn't want to admit it, he was proud of the girl for conquering so much of her fear, and for being good enough to make the quidditch team by the end of the year. Perhaps it was vanity, but Avery attributed just the slightest bit of credit to himself.

"Eyyy, Colin!" he called out to his mate, raising a hand for a high-five. Of course Colin was here, he was everywhere. Everybody knew the guy, and Avery himself couldn't help appreciating his positive energy. Plus, he had to experience the broom racer's skills in action himself. "Whoa, are you trying to become a beater today?" he asked, raising his brows at the... bat? that Colin was holding. "I thought you were a loyal broom racer!" he laughed good-naturedly.

And oh look, there she was already: eager Elisa Shakestra (his eyes would actually land on her doppleganger, @Aleksandra FairBairn). He would saunter up to the girl and lazily move to rest his elbow on her shoulder, unaware that he was weirdly doing this to a stranger. "You ready to go down in that dino hoodie?" he asked her, cracking a lop-sided, challenging but teasing grin, and inwardly giving props to her new, fun fashion sense. His comment was meant to be funny, because he had agreed to team up with Shakestra, not knock her off her broom (this time). He wasn't quite sure if she even trusted him, though, but internally he knew he wasn't going to harm Shakestra once he gave her his word. Heck, he might even help her.

While waiting for Shakestra (Aleksandra) to respond to him, his dark brown eyes scanned the rest of the crowd. He had heard that 'Cass Ito' and 'Prat Pass' were the ones hosting the event. His gaze landed on a girl arranging rocks and boy with glasses, who was also a dueling captain. Next, he spotted Alyssea Brown, Hufflepuff quidditch player, though she seemed to be carrying a bag of supplies and said she'd be healing people. Actually so nice of her to be healing and not blatching him today!, he thought with a chuckle of relief. Then, there was a young girl who introduced herself as Elena, fingers brushing her locket with just a touch of nerves. He hoped she'd be okay and not too traumatized when the game went on. Lastly, there was a boy in a Gryffindor uniform, greeting everyone in a friendly manner. Avery would raise his chin back in greeting.

"Hi everyone, I'm Avery Chen," he would say with a bright smile. "Get ready to get wrecked," he added, for dramatic effect. Maybe scare the firsties a little, keep everyone on their toes for a night of good fun. He meant 'wrecked' by the rocks, not by him, but people were free to interpret otherwise. Not that he was actually going to go for them (at least not now? this minute? today?), but who knew, in the heat of a sweaty battle.

It was weird to be at the Quiddich Training Pitch at this time, Prat and Cass came up with some idea about playing a wizarding game Aston has never heard of, Creaothceann or something equally complicated. He was holding his new Comet 180 that Prat brought him, he got it from him for the game and Aston really couldn't be more grateful. It's his very own broom! For someone that loves quidditch as much as Aston it really was an amazing gift. Definitely worth the risk of coming to this game, it does sound fun, he just hopes he doesn't get hurt too badly.

Out of everything Aston has done at Hogwarts this was by far the most exciting. He was never much of a rule breaker, Prat and Cass are definitely affecting me. He walked over to the two of them and Elena who is already there talking to them. "Hi guys! Can't wait to get started, I still have no idea how you and Cass managed to get this planned. by the way Prat, thanks so much for the broom. It's great!" How did I manage to befriend all these rich people? Anyways. "So how are we going to do this? I never heard about this game back in America."

Astra stuffed her hands into the pockets of her hoodie, featuring a green dinosaur adorning the front, the article seeming all too cheerful for a girl so somber, but while Astra's overall demeanor had changed her sense of style certainly hadn't. She had been approached by Aleks to do A Thing yet again, but this time it was a less vague and more fun-sounding Thing than "Will you go to summer camp with me?" so Astra was more willing to agree. With Albany on her back, secured by a cross body strap she'd attached to him might like a guitar, she was ready for the broom game that Aleks was taking her to. It had rocks, apparently, hence the dinosaur wear both she and Aleks were sporting. The red haired snakelet just so happened to possess two dinosaur hoodies, the second pawned off to her by Nico since dinosaurs weren't really his thing and she liked them the most of anyone he knew. Good thing she had forgotten its presence in her backpack, also hanging off one shoulder, else Aleks would have to go without.

Dark eyes swept the crowd at the practice pitch as people filled in. She waved to Colin when she saw him, then to Alyssea, her cousin receiving a broad smile so rare these days. Then there was Avery, who hosted that hotpot event where a cabbage tried to chomp her. That was fun.

Now he was messing with Aleks, which was a little funny since Aleks really hated to be messed with. Astra chuckled, continuing her sweep after giving a brief wave of greeting to Avery. There were so many people she'd not seen, not even once she didn't think. Sure, most were her housemates given her mild recognition of them, but there were at least three faces she couldn't put names to.

The game was simple enough. She'd heard of it before, from somewhere. Maybe her cousins. Who knew what she heard from them anyway. She tapped Aleks on the shoulder, saying "I'll join you in the air shortly," before jogging over to Alyssea, her ponytail swinging slightly.

"Heya," she greeted. Alyssea didn't look like she'd be flying today, not all ready like everyone else, sort of standing to the side. "Spectating? Or ground support." The latter seemed the more realistic option. "Could I maybe leave my backpack with you till I win this or get knocked out?"
