Waiting for and Interacting with Ophelia Northwell and Quinn Brook
✦✦✦✦✦✦

Topaz was rushing with her makeup and hair! She had forgotten to set her alarm so she woke up super late. She was so stressed out but, Topaz said to herself "It's ok calm down, you got this." But she was thinking so much about how much she missed.

She slowly braided the small parts of her hair, then sprayed some perfume. She got her high heels on quickly and started running down the stairs to the scavenger hunt. As soon as she got there she did not think wearing high heels was the best choice but she could not go back to change otherwise she would be even late!

At the scavenger hunt, she saw Ophelia and Quinn, which she decided to go with. She was excited but hadn't seen them both in like forever. So she was a little nervous. She had heard Quinn and Ophelia talking. Ophelia to Quinn was saying "Yeah, mine is peacock themed. It was really hard to find everything in matching colours, but peacocks are my favourite animal, so I had to try. What are your favourite animals?" Topaz started another conversation saying "Hi guys, sorry I'm late, I tried to get here as soon as possible, muttering nervously deciding whether they'd forgive her.

Reyna knew that she was late to the ball. Well, not late. She was technically on time because apparently you needed to go on a scavenger hunt of sorts to find clues. Then you get into the Ball. Reyna had not come with a date today. But that was okay. Last ball, she had been sick so she had not been able to attend. This time, it was her goal to attend it.
Spotting many people looking in the white flower, pearlbushes, she also began to search. She wasn't sure exactly what she was looking for. As she took her hand out of the bushes, she accidentally scratched herself. "OW!" I yelped.
I glanced at my hand and realized that my hand was now bleeding. I sighed. Of course this happened to me. Luckily, I always brought bandaids mixed with a very light healing potion. It worked well when I had cuts or small bruises.
I turned around to get out of the bushes and get more space to put on the bandaid and take it out. As I turned around I smashed into someone. Shoot. I looked up at the person. I hoped I hadn't hurt them or spilled blood on them.
"I'm so sorry!" I said, "I don't know what's going on with me today." I shook my head. I had cut myself, bumped into some random person, been late to the ball. Seriously, this never happened. I took a deep shaky breath. I had to be better from now on. Or else this was not going to end well.

I was, yes I was. I was not prepared to go to the ball today, and I don't have remember it at the start. My day was really weird and I needed to do so many things before my arrival at the training pitch. First, I invited someone without preparing a dress and without fix an encounter place, point for meeting. That was a really weird error. Inattention, I guess. So I owled my parents and asked a dress, anyone that makes flowery or spring and I catch my self-made mask -and I was so proud of it-. Before going at training pitch, I tried to put makeup but I was a disaster. I was a disaster.

I finally arrived but I was really shy in my pink dress, not totally my style but ok, and I was searching literally everywhere for my date of tonight. My dear Matthew. In my hands was a gift for him because I don't know why, I like give gifts to my friends when they are important to me.

I finally found curly hairs, so cute in his suit. I came, seeing he were talking already with some people. "Ma.. Matthew! Oh hi! My gosh I'm late, sorry... I made so many mistakes, for real, you are my first date in life, literally and I scrapped it all... How can I catch up with that? I think we also have an Enigma to resolve..." I looked all around. "They are you're friends? I actually have a correspondent of Tenūsa that I saw coming here. I'm glad to meet you all. My name Is Rowan Bellegno."

There was certainly no question about the acuity of Romeo's claim. Petite and impish though she may have been, Greta was not just "Hanzo's little sister" anymore. While not quite a woman, neither was she a child any longer. She was well and firmly coming into her own. Round cheeks had lost some of their baby fat, the features of her heart-shaped face accented with the tasteful use of makeup. The cerulean of her eyes in particular seemed quite vivid against the contrast of the mascara that framed them. But more than her appearance, it was her personality that had really been transformed. Or rather, been allowed to blossom. Shy and reserved, she had always been outshone by her more boisterous brother. It had been difficult for her to find herself, always feeling like she had to be the good child in the wake of her elder brother's antics.

Though never wanting, she had never quite been able to spread her wings, constrained to a gilded cage of expectation and the ambitions of her family for the path they saw for her. It wasn't until she had joined the Horntail Horde that the chains had begun to fall. Each and every one of her brothers had been an example to her, walking to the beat of their own drums and following no one's path but their own. They were strong of spirit and possessed a depth of love for each other that she had only dreamed of. Within the circle of their spiritual embrace, she was emboldened. Freed to listen to her own desires and challenge herself to pursue whatever brought her happiness. It was because of this shedding of reservation that she could truly appreciate Roo's compliment.

"Do you think so?" A wide grin spread across her face at the comment of her looking gorgeous. Fingers plucked at the skirt, her own gaze dropping down to her figure as she appraised herself from the odd angle, skirt swishing back and forth as she twisted slightly on the spot. And she certainly didn't need much encouragement to find out just how much spin energy she could get out of it. Hands throwing the skirt out to the side, she spun on the spot, hands above her head and boldly smiling all the while. A pretty pink flush kissed her cheeks by the time she stopped, a crystal giggle bubbling in her chest. "A lot," she concluded merrily.

To Niffy's assessment, though, she could only laugh. "It's a good thing then that I don't plan to break any hearts tonight. Besides," she pursed her lips, eyes darting out briefly into the crowd, "there's only ever been one person who ever seemed interested anyway. I hope—AH!"

Whatever it was that she hoped for, it was blast from her thoughts in the moment that the white Niffler came streaking at her like a bolt of lightning. How he had even managed to descend from on high quite so quickly, she hadn't the faintest idea. Nor did she particularly care. The moment his arms wrapped around her, warmth exuded from him to spread through her, bringing security and contentment. Her own arms had wrapped around his neck, squeezing affectionally as she pressed her cheek against his. The moment he started nuzzling, though, she succumbed easily to the ticklish sensation, squealing, "That tickles!"

Fortunately, she wouldn't have to attempt to extricate herself, the seeker releasing her shortly thereafter. And she would soon find herself rather enthralled, brows rising high, lips slightly parted in awe when he revealed the hummingbird carefully protected in his hands. "Where did—" But her reverent whisper would trail to nothingness as he settled the tiny creature in her hair. Her hands reflexively went up as though to feel for it, though sense would leave them simply hovering around the hair in which the bird had settled. She could barely even feel it nestled there.

"What is Uccelli.— Ucce— UccHOO!?" In the moments that the Niffler had attempted to cast a spell to deliver upon her some flowers, something had gone wrong. All of a sudden, the air seemed thick with irritating pollen that almost immediately left Greta's eyes itchy and watery and her nose tickling. "AaCHOO!" She sneezed again, hand waving at the cloud of pollen as though that would somehow do something about it. Sense would reach her a moment later as she retreated in an effort to find clearer air. A good thing she did, as well. Between sniffles and still fighting with the effort to suppress any further sneezing, she heard a telltale buzzing of bees. It would be a moment yet before she could blink watering eyes clear enough to see what was going on. Niffler had a handful of flowers, but a small gang of bees was heading for Romeo. "ROO, LOOK OUT!" Swiftly drawing her wand, she shouted, "EBUBLIO!"

Elisa had no plan to join the Ball, especially knowing the fact that her ex childhood friend would be there too but for some reason she had agreed to go to the ball with Ekachot, a boy from Tenusa whom she had met a couple of days ago, but there she was wearing her brand new dress as she walked into the entrance, she noticed a couple of familiar faces but not of Ekachot, who she assumed may arrive a bit late,

As the young blonde walked around the crowd, she realised that they had to search for some key through the bushes, while the game did seem fun, Elisa refrained herself from doing so, It just didn't make sense for her of how no one cared of their dresses getting soiled by all this messy searching. Elisa also wasn't ready to get any kind of cut from the plants, while knowing how sensitive her skin was.

After a while of looking around, Elisa started strolling around the Training pitch which looked dead gorgeous, the long pretty trees with a side of flower filled gorgeous bushes made it seem like a dream, As Elisa walked through the path, the more her mind relaxed as she heard the beautiful melody of the birds alongside the bust of golden color from the fairy light, It all seemed too elegant to be the bitter reality she was used to.

Currently talking with Zophyr @Mahlioz Evethisawe

Theo's attention was fixed on something happening on the other side of the training pitch. A student had cast the Disarming Charm, and another had unintentionally summoned angry bees when their conjuring spell went awry. He hadn't noticed Zophyr walking up to him, and he almost jumped out of his skin in fright, thinking someone was casting a spell on him. Quickly, he looked over and relaxed his shoulders, realising it was someone with a friendly face.

Before he could fully register what she had said, his eyes scanned across her outfit, and his expression revealed his surprise at finding it quite peculiar. Theo hailed from an extremely homogeneous background, so anything outside his culture often seemed strange and disorderly to him. Being Muggle-born and unfamiliar with wizarding culture in general left him feeling very out of sorts.

Somewhat aware that other wizarding schools were attending the ball, Theo had no clue about their identities or whether they had arrived yet. Thus, upon encountering Zophyr, he assumed she was from Hogwarts.

After a few awkward moments of silence, Theo felt compelled to say something nice. "You're like a dragon," he blurted out with a nod. He then addressed her initial question about avoiding searching through bushes. "Why bother with mud on my shoes?" he replied. "I'm on the ball planning committee. I already know where the clues and key are hidden," he said with a small smirk, enjoying the exclusivity of his knowledge.

Perhaps it was anxiety, nerves, or excitement, but Theo completely failed to introduce himself.

I blushed and started to look at the pearlbushes, embarrassed I had gotten it so wrong. I observed some low key flirting from the two, and I felt bad for making them not...hug. I was pretty sure that Basil had been rude to me because I had walked in, so I didn't have any hard feelings.

"Oops. I guess you know your plants Basil. I mean, with a name like that, what else could you do?" I slapped my hands over my mouth, mortified by what I had just said. "Sorry, that was completely my fault. I...don't know what I was thinking." I
blushed again and took a deep breath, not really wanting to say anything else bad. I knew I was just annoyed, but I was going to try to not let my anger control me.

I started searching the bushes, trying to find the next clue and redeem myself. I thought I found something but it was only a leaf, and I kept searching. I smiled at Devon and recalled our practice of soccer together. The reminder of the American way to say the sport made me realize something was off about Basil. He went to Ilvermorny, but he had a British accent. I decided to ask him about it. "Hey Basil, why do you have a British accent?"

The scavenger hunt was well underway. With every new arrival, the flower beds and bushes became evermore saturated with students in search of the next clue, though Evelynn remained steadfastly apart from those who did. She continued to observe, slowly wading through the masses like a creek finding the path of least resistance through rocky terrain on a shallow decline. Unhurried and carefully scrutinizing, her gaze panned deliberately back and forth across her field, dutifully watching over those present and mentally filing away her observations for later use.

Through it all, she ensured to maintain line of sight to both the girl in the dark, rune-stitched attire; as well as the one she had pegged as pureblood, contributing what appeared to be the minimal effort required to blend in with the rest of the hunters. Although apparently that was all that was required seeing only a short time would pass before she retrieved a box from among the flowers. From a this distance, Evelynn wasn't able to spy the exact contents, but given the way the waves of tittering about a new clue soon rippled from her as the source, she could only assume that the box had not contained a key, but rather a new step to solving the puzzle.

Evelynn watched long enough to make note of the arrival of one Mister McCoire, identifiable despite his mask due to his untamed mane of nearly stark white hair and his abhorrence of shoes. Only a few individuals at the school shared his sentiments, and among them, it was generally easy to identify them even at a distance. The last to join their party arrived in a very pretty pale green dress that almost gave her the appearance of a fae-like creature. The introductions that followed were more than a little convenient for the onlooking Gryffindor, and Evelynn was able to jot a few more notes, drawing a number of social connections previously unknown. @Colin McCoire @Fang Hui-Ying

Shifting her attention away from them, their conversation proving little more than pleasantries and conspiratorial discussion to solve the next clue, Evelynn found her gaze drawn by the arrival of a rather unexpected duo. Were it not for the fact that they shared a house allowing glimpses to ball preparation ahead of time, the ex-prefect likely would not have recognized Miss Silmataurea. Poised and ever confident, she carried herself like a princess. With her arrival also came a sense of reassurance. Not only would she be an upperclassman in a sea of younger students, experienced and educated, she was also arguably one of the most capable casters in the school. The fact that she was a prefect didn't hurt either, her presence alone hopefully inspiring the more conscious trouble-makers to at least think twice. @Meenauh Silmataurea

It wasn't the Gryffindor prefect, however, that held Evelyn's attention. Rather, it was the boy attached to her arm. She couldn't quite decide if he looked dashing, or simply daring. His ensemble was certainly... something. If his aim was to capture the spotlight, she had little doubt he would find himself quite successful in that endeavor. On first glance, one might have thought him to be elegantly dressed in a button down shirt and tailored slacks. Except that the shirt was entirely sheer, and while it sported a meticulously embroidered floral pattern, it left very little to the imagination of what lay beneath. What was more, unless she was quite mistaken, his pants were made of velvet. Topped with a cocked crown, he looked either like he had just come off a runway, or had been on the receiving end of a little sister making him play dress-up. It was quite counter to every experience of the boy she could recall. @Jack Warren

And since when had they become an item? Evelynn was all too aware that her attention for the social evolution of her peers had been more than absent the past year or so, but she couldn't have been that dense. Yet there he was, the arm wrapped around her waist suggestive that their relationship was more than just a passing invitation to the ball. Plus, the lioness had never struck Evelynn as one who would allow even polite physical intimacy unless the other had already ticked several boxes of approval in her eyes.

The entire image of the pair as they meandered their way through the throng of younger students, their gazes judgmental and smirks amused, seemed very abstract. Eyes narrowed as they trailed after the pair, quietly appraising. By the time the two had turned to face each other, hands and bodies situated in preparation to dance, there could be no other explanation. The clothing, the expressions, the evident disregard for the events transpiring around them, acting as though they were the protagonists amidst a background caste of extras simply filling the scene with senseless movement... It was a performance. All of it. It had to be.

But for whom?

For now, the answer to that would be left a mystery. A cursory scan of the surrounding students led to no obvious individuals—aside from herself, she supposed—whose attention had been snared by the pair. Their performance would be temporarily put to the back of her mind as several things transpired simultaneously. The unmistakable intonation of casting pulled at Evelynn's sentinel senses. Suddenly pushed to attention, she darted her attention around, trying to triangulate where it had come from. Her efforts were made significantly ore difficult as another clue, this time delivered by the unmistakably shrieking tones of a howler, briefly drowned out the din.

By the time she came across the trio that had perpetrated her defensive reflex, whatever the tension had been to inspire the conflict seemed to have dispersed. Evelynn arrived just in time to see the retreating figure of a young girl (@Alyssea Brown), leaving a Gryffindor known to Evelynn and an unfamiliar boy who appeared rooted to the spot (@Zach Zaphiere). Wand in hand, the elder lioness looked between the pair of them, lingering for a hair longer on the subdued boy as though evaluating whether he was a threat or the victim. "What is going on here?" Her tone was even, leveled, absent of accusation or anger, but the knitted appearance to her brow and the way she fixed her unblinking lidded gaze upon Miss Voltrouz would leave little question that she expected an answer. While she was no longer have been a prefect by name, the calm authority behind her voice remained. @Raizel Voltrouz

You may choose for your character to accidentally share a random thought, phrase or memory telepathically ONCE PER THREAD (per character). This may occur during direct interaction, or just in proximity without your character ICly even realizing that Evelynn is there. If you do choose to take advantage of this ability, please make it clear in your post and DM me! "Hmm, I don't know. Maybe to make a difference, when we enter there, all the students will start flying with magic. What happened at the Autumn Ball?"

She asked curiously. Maybe if he had told us what happened at the Autumn Ball, it would have been easy to guess the difference at this ball. But once we got inside, the idea of flying suddenly seemed appealing.

"So, do you have any pets? You seem like someone who loves animals."

While she was thinking about these, something like wood touched his hand. When she looked there, he saw that it was a wooden box. She looked at Alejandro even more excitedly.

"Bingo. I didn't think it would be this easy."

She immediately placed Vick on the grass and cleaned and opened the wooden chest. Her face fell when she found inside, not a key, but another note and a bunch of sweets. 'I never thought I would be sad when I saw the dessert.' she said to herself. Her hair turned white again.

She puts the trunk on the floor, takes the note and reads it out loud.

"'The real prize of course is the next clue:

Blood of a goddess,
Turned its petals red
Tears made her a mess,
Her lover now dead.' I guess what's different about this ball is the treasure hunt. It looks like it'll be a lot of fun "

She picked up Vick and carefully placed her back on his shoulder, not caring that her dress would become soil. 'I wonder if they want me to do something with candies'

Kaitlyn flushed lightly, feeling slightly out of sorts from everyone attempting to attend this ball. It didn’t help that they were unable to enter yet. ‘So. Many. People. I understand the visiting schools are also attending, but fudge, there are many here. It seems like this will feel claustrophobic,’ she thought, ‘Yet I’m determined to spend a good night with Minnie.’

Kaitlyn looked around, hearing a howler going off with another clue. ‘Oh drat, I missed the second one! Oh wait, what is wrong with me? I should really be searching for Minnie ….’ Her thoughts trailed off. The young Slytherin girl slowly worked her way around the throng of students, all gravitating to the pearlbushes. Eventually, after what felt like an eternity of searching, her blue eyes found Minnie.

Wearing a nervous smile, Kaitly gracefully approached the cute Hufflepuff girl. “Hi, Minnie,” she greeted her, a nervous smile on her face. She took a moment to admire Minnie. “I like your outfit. And you look fantastic … and very pretty,” she giggled quietly. “Um, I think the third clue … sorry, I wasn’t paying attention … is pearlbushes? Would you like to search a bush with me?” She asked, offering her manicured hand to Minnie, a brighter smile on her face. She hoped they weren’t too late to find the next key.
