The Arrival Tea Party
Located in the Pyrenees, blending in with the snow capped peaks of the mountain range at the southern edge of France, Beauxbatons was awaiting its guests. The usually white château was decorated for the coming Valentine's Day. It was the first time in the long history of the French Academy to open its doors to welcome students from all over the world for a week. As such, the grand event required a lot of proper preparations.
Every school had their own method of transportation, some by carriage, some by portkey, provided by the long established Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. Upon arrival, the first thing that might catch students' eyes were the gardens. The main walkway in it was lined with finely cut trees on one side and a long row of hedges on the other. There was a clear atmosphere of the coming holiday. Trees were bearing red hearts on them made of paper with some glitter. Sunshine lending on decoration added its astonishing natural magic. In front of the gates the walkaway opened into a small square. It was dominated by a statue of a winged horse inside a small pond – a Pegasus. This statue was larger than life-size, made of bronze with wings bigger than a grown man.
The east side of the gardens was covered with small fountains, artistic flower beds of lavender and low hedges that re-formed themselves at random times to depict the shapes of animals, architecture or forms. Lion statues marked the far corners of this part of the gardens, guarding a handful of daises that held benches and pavilions that the students could use as meeting places in their free time.
The west side of the gardens contained high walls overgrown with vines that provide a space to sit and study, or have a gathering of friends. Further in, the hedges created almost a maze in some areas, while in others they created niches and open spaces. A few were filled with statues of marble while others opened up to ponds with colourful fish swimming in them. Hidden in a corner, protected by walls of hedges, a clever student could even find an orchard of apricot and figs. If anyone was determined enough to find the correct path that led to the centre of the maze, they would find themselves facing the fountain of youth that depicted its well known theme: the eternal lovers, Nicolas & Perenelle Flamel.
Apart from the gardens, the Beauxbatons grounds had hoops and series of tunnels, with a main tower serving as a place for Beauxbatons broom racing team. Anyone interested in looking at the famous abraxans could sneak in to find them in the stables. To any student who could find them, they would be situated in the largest tower that holds the duelling turret up.
The castle was a four-floored white building facing north to the open land. On the second floor, there would be students studying in a vast number of different classrooms. The third floor apart from hosting the Headmistress office had an art gallery. For Valentine's Day, the art gallery would be protected but open to the visiting staff and students. Specific pieces of art would be displayed reflecting the celebration that would be occurring. There on the walls of the gallery, people would see drawings and paintings of couples, best friends, proposals, sunsets and romance in many different mediums, including oil, charcoal, and even a few magical photographs. On the ground floor, the dining chamber was ready to provide students with food. Visiting students would be allowed to join the daily meals during the time they were here, and enjoy the experience of French cuisine. They would get to meet other students including the students attending Beauxbatons. Perhaps they could find a new friend or lover in that dining chamber. The students when they entered the dining area would find ice sculptures in forms of hearts that never melted, created just for this week.
To accommodate students from other schools Beauxbatons organized cabins placed on the grounds. On arrival all of them were invited to the tea party that would take place in the dining chamber. Upon entering it, students would find several tables. Each table was filled with various types of brewing tea, french pastries, macarons, macaroons, biscuits, all kinds of cakes, heart shaped muffins and different international snacks. In addition to tea students could find juices, lemonades, and many more drinks. There was also a separate table that provided drinks solely meant for the adults and staff, in addition to the drinks available for students. There would be music playing at the background, a wide variety of French and German love songs as well as from all the cultures that were around the world. In order to create an immersive experience, musicians had been hired to provide the ambiance for the first day of the week long event.

The Arrival Tea Party
Dennis wasn’t exactly sure why he chose to go to Beauxbatons for the Valentine’s Day holiday. He didn’t have anyone he was interested in and found all this lovey dovey stuff gross. He had specifically avoided it last year. However, the boy loved to travel more than he disliked red hearts and gross (read: cute) decorations. His tune changed, though when he got his first peak of the chateau. All thoughts of having to avoid all the yucky stuff like weird eye contact couples made at each other, disappeared. The garden was immaculate and with all the pomp and circumstance surrounding the enchanting vista, Dennis quickly found himself engrossed. Was this some sort of spell?
He couldn’t help but gawk at the finely shaped hedges and the intricate design of the fountains as they were led into the main building. The forever single boy, might actually start liking Valentine’s day! As if the allure of the gardens and architecture wasn’t enough, they even brought snacks! Dennis loved snacks! And tea! Tea and crumpets, the way to a British boy’s heart! Dennis couldn’t wait anymore! He skipped breakfast and now it was time for his reward!
Off to the nearest macaron he went. “Wow! This is the biggest croissant I have ever seen in my life!” He gasped as he hopped from one snack filled table to the next, hoisting up a croissant that he could swear was as big as his head and so unbelievably flaky! Forget a lover’s holiday, Valentine’s Day should be a gift to the snacking gods! Dennis piled on snack after snack after snack onto a plate and found a seat. There was room for a few others but barely. The 12 year old had an appetite that could feed an army, but did he have the stomach as well?

The Arrival Tea Party

France was so beautiful! Maria had always wanted to travel to the most romantic country in the world but never had the opportunity. The young lady, with dreams of reds and whites and pinks, twirled, more than walked down the pathway. Her lavender, flower printed, kimono flitting about as she moved this way and that to try to take in as much as she could. The decorations were so well thought out! She sighed and clasped her hands together, overwhelmed with the excitement of the season, it was so romantic! All the love, and sweet tenderness was more than she could bear at times. She followed her school and whispered excitedly with the other girls as they made their way to the Tea Party. If there was one thing Maria loved more than her own parents at times, it was tea!Roleplaying as Maria Constança Leung de Almeida from Mahoutokoro - Link to Encyclopedia
As they stepped inside, Maria’s first impression was how well kept the mansion was. Pristine and ornate. She would want to live in a place like this! Maybe this place was for sell? And the girls. They were so…well trained and proper. She thought she was dreaming! She had not seen such proper manners in all of Mahoutokoro, aside from herself that was. She obviously was going to the wrong school!
Finally, they were in the dining hall. Snacks and drinks as far as the eye could see! Maria, however, wasn’t in the mood to get fat. What she needed was a nice sit down and a hot hot hot cup of tea. Seeing the girls of Beauxbatons reminded her of her manners and she straightened her kimono and her posture. She gave a curt nod to her troupe of traveling gagglers and picked up a tray with a tea set and sat far away from the munchers and the heathens. There was especially a Neanderthal of a boy whose platter was twice the size he was. How insensitive, she scoffed to herself as she took her seat, her back to all the action of the snack tables. She poured hot water into the teapot and let it steep for a moment before pouring herself a cup. Admiring, once more, the elaborate decorations and mood of the room, Maria sighed and took a sip of tea.

⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆ "Love planted a rose and the world turned sweet"⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆Abilities: Healing Sage & CharmerAfter the dramatic entrance and unpacking excitement in the cabins, Siobhan was all too excited to adjourn to the Tea party that Beauxbatons had decorated and set up to welcome the students from around the world. It was almost like being invited to tea with the Queen from what she had heard about the event. She had excitedly asked her mother if she had permission to alter one of her summer dresses to make sure she had something nice to wear around the other students. She didn't want to wear anything too raggedy and look like a ragamuffin.
That would simply be impolite.
She had primped and preened in the bathroom mirror as she adjusted the hat she had made with some of her leftover honking daffodil flowers from the very first ball that she had attended. Those daffodils had sprouted excitedly and she loved that they seemed to love her garden. The daffodils honked softly as she arranged them and the peonies on her hat sill, taking care to arrange them in an aesthetically pleasing way. She hoped that she had made the hat look nice enough- she'd found a glittery pink ribbon in the package her mother had sent containing fabric and yard good material for the accouterments and had used it to affix the flowers to her hat. Her favorite part of the hat, however, was the big pink bow she had tied. It happily sat under the honking daffodils and had shiny rhinestones that would catch the light. It was so pretty.
She wondered if perhaps she had put a few sprigs of Baby's Breath or perhaps a White Dahlia against the pink and the yellow. At least she had several sprigs of lilac to color it up a little and correspond with the yellow of her dress. She happily spins around to make sure she looks sweet and pretty, just like a flower. Once she deemed herself preened enough, Siobhan went back to her suitcase and looked around for the special teacup that her Nana had given her. She'd brought it to the Spring Ball and it was so special to her. Plus- it once again matched her dress and made her look like a pinnacle of society.
She looked fabulous.
She had hoped Astra would come with her- but her ginger-haired friend seemed vehement against getting dressed up and participating in anything that required something other than a hoodie and sweatpants.
"Alright... Well if you change your mind- Here, it's a honking daffodil. That way you have something to wear." Siobhan mumbled handing Astra one of her flowers.
She gathered her wrist satchel and made sure she had everything she needed. She had her teacup, her wand, her handkerchief, and... several rocks and pennies. Perfect- she had everything. She stumbled out of the cabin across the sand as she followed the little cobbled road up to the Castle. She would never admit this out loud but she found Beauxbatons to be immensely more beautiful than Hogwarts. Something about its ethereal charm spoke to her on a deeply personal level.
Upon arriving at the area that had been set up for the party- she marveled excitedly as she buzzed about looking at all the decorations. She felt as though she had stepped into a fairytale. The dining chamber was set up so lovingly and there was a wide assortment of treats and drinks. She picked up a little plate and went to town exploring all they had to offer. She then thought to herself and realized she needed to find an adult and ask about the nuts that were in the desserts. If there were peanuts she was out of luck. She doubted that they hadn't prepared for students with allergies but she wanted to be on the safe side.
She found a table with a teapot with the most aromatic scents coming from it. She set herself down, arranged her dress skirt neatly, and pulled her teacup from her wrist satchel. She gently poured herself a cup of tea and inhaled the steaming cup to her nose. Jasmine... with a hint of orange and the smallest sensation of honey. She took a delicate sip and felt the warmth fill her body. How delicious.
She smiled to herself and looked around with wonder. What a wonderful entrance.Action: Finding her seat and enjoying her tea

The Arrival Tea Party
Japanese | English | Date: | Word Count 312/200
Aiko was excited that her school (and all the other schools) had been invited to Beauxbatons for an event. It was nice to travel somewhere other than Hogwarts for once, and she hoped that the event went well so that similar events could occur in other areas. She had a few ideas around this herself but would wait until after the Valentine’s event and another suitable time to occur before raising them.
She had her own cabin, on purpose, mainly to avoid showing favoritism or at least seeming to. She enjoyed all her students equally and would never admit to having favorites among them. Especially now that she was not just responsible for teaching one class and instead was now responsible for the whole school. But for the moment at least, she was focusing mainly on ensuring her students were suitably behaved and leaving the overarching worries of running a school behind. It would be a nice little break, and one she relished.
Strolling out of her cabin, she made her way to where she believed the tea party was being hosted, having heard it was nearby the school’s gardens. Aiko was excited to see the gardens, as it was something that Mahoutokoro took pride in themselves and even had a gardening club. She enjoyed seeing other’s gardens, especially in different areas of the world. The flowers or plants usually differed and then also one’s idea of beauty as well. It was one of the exciting aspects of travelling for Aiko.
Coming into the dining area, Aiko picked up a cup of herbal tea, and placed some of the lovely pastries, especially ones she didn’t entirely recognize on a small place. Taking both the tea and plate of goodies out to the garden area, Aiko strolled around until she spotted an unoccupied bench where she could sit and enjoy the lovely day.Stats: Stamina: 15 | Evasion: 12 | Strength: 2 | Wisdom: 16 | Arcane Power: 10 | Accuracy: 15

The Arrival Tea Party
Bubba was still seething as he left the cabin. He had no interest in talking to anyone as he stormed out and in the general direction of the dining chamber for the tea party. He truthfully didn't want tea, scones, or anything else for that matter. He didn't even know how he'd wound up here and now he was stuck here with a bunch of absolute weirdos. First of all, there was Matthias. Well, in fairness, he wasn't weird, Bubba just thought he was a dick. He didn't understand how someone as nice as Winnie could be with just a jerk like him. Then there was Gideon, who was just plain creepy, definitely a touch of John Wayne Gacy to him. But Matthew, Matthew was the worst, that little shit. Creeping around his bedroom, doing whatever the hell he'd done there. Just his luck he wound up with the cast of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
He at least tried to take in the magnificence of the Beauxbatons grounds. It wasn't on the same level as Hogwarts in his opinion but it was just quite impressive. The trees bearing red hearts were a bit much for him but he knew a lot of people were into that schmaltzy shit. The hedges shifting between different animals were very cool, he could've sworn it turned into a wolverine at one point. The white castle was nice, but he felt there was more majesty to Hogwarts with all its towers.
He had finally arrived outside the dining chamber. He straightened his Red Sox hoodie and took his baseball cap off, smoothing his hair before replacing it on his head. He entered the dining chamber and his nose was immediately struck by the bouquet of smells emanating from the various teas brewing on the tables. He found it immediately relaxed him and he was starting to calm down. He walked over to one of the tables until he found what was, as far as he was concerned, the only tea (Captain Picard had told him so) - earl gray, hot. He poured some into a tea cup and grabbed a raspberry scone from the table.
He stepped away and looked around the hall for people who had the dual virtues of being vaguely familiar and not one of his cabin mates. A browned-haired girl he vaguely recognized from Hogwarts seated at a nearby table. She was as good as any. He took his tea and scone and walked over to her, stopping a seat away from her and remained standing, "Hello," he said with a smile, "Would you mind if I joined you?"

Charmer, Foul Play, Wandmaker
The Arrival Tea Party
Date: February 12th 2025The day was already off to a completely bizarre start, firstly his face was already beginning to swell lightly red with stinging heat lingering on the skin from where Gideon had slapped him. Then there was the fact that his cabin mates were all pulled straight from a melodrama and with the exception of Nabi and potentially Gideon, though that one was an entirely unhinged rogue element, none of them seemed particularly warm towards him. Not that any of this was anything new but he rather foolishly still believed every fresh start may turn out better than the last.
The definition of insanity was attempting the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, so by all measures he was due at the psych ward any second. The cabin wasn't all bad and perhaps he was even judging it too quickly, at the very least there was potential hope for Avis given their shared heritage but he couldn't know with any certainty and Winnie seemed sweet despite being a little disgusted by his ruse. One thing lingered far more than the rest though preying on his thoughts as he left his shared room. The rather strange radio play he had been dragged into by the blonde torturer that for a reason more complex than all the others combined left him feeling rather strange. Matthew found he almost liked the fantasy they had created, knowing he was a puppet on Gideon's strings but somehow belonging to something bigger still felt good. Maybe it was his deep desire to be wanted, or maybe it was something darker but whatever it was Gideon had wormed his way beneath his skin and taken root and until Matthew worked out what that meant he should probably put some distance.
Whatever had happened with all its messes and complexities was simply a beginning though and he had plenty of time to change the narrative of this particular story. The past belonged in the past and he had all the time in the world to make this trip memorable after all he was in France for the first time in his life and the world felt infinite in his small fingertips.
Thus was the catalyst that inspired a change of scenery, fleeing from the cabin at breakneck pace (Crocs in sportsmode once more of course) he had grabbed Nabi begging for some sane company, "Hey, you fancy heading to the afternoon tea thing I'm pretty sure I need some air." The girl was rendering him with a rather perplexing look as if she was trying to solve complex arithmancy with an added shred of compassion but then he recalled the deep red indent Gideon had so graciously offered to him and the dried tears lingering under his eyes. "Oh I'll survive, you know the Athanatos family, never a dull moment. Don't tell me you're going all soft Park," gesturing to his face as he spoke.
As the world opened out to them they were overtaken by the vast beauty of the space, flowers bloomed everywhere in such rich colourful displays it truly stole the boys breath. Hogwarts was an ancient medieval masterpiece but this was straight out of the stories of a fairytale. Grounds carefully crafted with beauty and elegance at the forefront with the most spectacular fountains and statues adorning the place and ivy growing delicately on walls, it was utterly timeless. There was no doubt in Matthew's mind that he could lose himself for days just exploring the grounds themselves but he was on a mission to make at least one positive impression today so their destination had to be reached. Though he was quite sure the serenity of the gardens would not follow him into the castle.
Once they had arrived in the dining room Matthew spotted the familiar face of Sio from across the way with a beautiful adornment of flowers preened in her hat and graced in an elegant outfit quite befitting of her own lovely personality. She was an utter whizz with herbology thanks to her mother's gifts and it always warmed his heart to see her natural magic thriving. Unf0rtunately while Matthew might have gone over to say hello luck had other plans as she had already been joined by Bubba who had decided to hate him within minutes of meeting. With his face already injured and his head a mess of insults and dazed confusion he decided that one American outburst was quite enough for a single day so he would have to compliment his friends outfit another time.
Instead dragging Nabi over to a different table he surveyed the array of different cakes and pastries all of which were much fancier than the supermarket own versions but still he found a Pain Au Chocolat that suited his tastes perfectly. With the most enchanting French love songs as a backdrop the afternoon was already more pleasant than he had anticipated and if his face would only dial the crimson down a little he could maybe even feel at ease. Watching as Nabi surveyed the table with much more eloquent taste he said, "I bet you know all the names to this stuff don't you. Think we can find a good place to people watch again or should we actually attempt to socialise?"

The Arrival Tea Party

Aamon slipped out of the dorm the moment Gideon pulled Matthew inside, leaving behind whatever fresh hell was about to unfold. He told himself he wasn’t fleeing—just…removing himself from the line of fire. Hopefully, Matthew got through it with nothing more than a bruised ego and a fresh grudge to nurse. It might be a nice distraction from his romantic woes with his girlfriend.
Still, guilt gnawed at Aamon.
Matthew had been a walking powder keg all evening, and at first Aamon was puzzled. He had done nothing to Matthew, but Matthew had poisoned him during the S.N.O.G.-fest and had made Aamon a deviant in a single night. Aamon did not hate Matt, but he could no longer trust the snake at his word, which is honestly a truth he should have abided to in the first place. What he could not understand was what Matthew's problem with him was here in Beauxbatons. Aamon should be the one that was frustrated, but Matt had some axe to grind the moment they reunited.
Now Aamon knew exactly why. Aamon hadn’t meant to steal his girlfriend Nabi. He didn’t even know they were a thing until it was too late—though, in hindsight, it made all the sense in the world. Of course, Matthew had been brooding over something. Of course, that something had been Aamon’s fault.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
He muttered the words under his breath, rubbing at his face as he made his way toward the jardin à la française. He barely took in the carefully manicured hedges and pristine flower beds, too busy simmering in his own embarrassment. He could technically blame the bottle for what happened. It was a game, after all. A dumb, reckless game.
He had kissed Matt's girlfriend and it had likely resulted in an upheaval in their relationship. Nabi likely embarrassed and troubled by a jealous paramour. Matt concerned he was going to lose his girlfriend, so do the man-logic of drive her off by being an intolerable phallus. They really did suck at managing conflict, but Aamon had to admit he had a part to play in this drama. As much as he would prefer to level blame at the game, the bottle hadn’t made him kiss anybody.
That part? That was all him.
And wasn’t that just the Athanatos way? It wasn’t his fault his family had been cursed with being ridiculously attractive. That was genetics. No one could blame him for that. Well, Matt certainly could and did.
He shook off the thought and picked up his pace, eager to throw himself into the welcoming party and not dwell on the mess he’d made. He expected to be met with a sea of unfamiliar faces, but as soon as he stepped inside, his eyes landed on one blessedly familiar person.
Bubba McGarry.
Aamon had barely understood a single word the guy had said since they met earlier that day, but thank Merlin, at least he knew him. That was all he needed right now—a friendly (well, Bubba had this resting bitch face thing much like Nabi) face in this sea of impending disasters.
With newfound enthusiasm, Aamon strode forward, intending on dropping into the seat next to Bubba and greeting his roomie, he thought better of it. He would go somewhere else. Do something else. Maybe he would hang out near the food, not that he would willingly eat anything considering how well that went last time.
He would look around for an empty seat near someone and find one near Maria Constança Leung de Almeida (@Dennis Tumberton). She was real pretty (lovely creature) and she was not actively mad at him. With how things were going for him, that would likely change soon. He changed course before the American started yelling about democracy and chicken nuggets and approached the young lady. "Hi," he gave her a nervous smile. "Can I sit. Here," he pointed at the chair as if the girl might weaponize it. "I'm Aamon."
If the girl did not speak the King's tongue, then it might be a peaceful event. If she did, well hopefully he did not screw this up. He would notice Nabi and Matt enter the party together, confirming his theory. Yeah, I messed up there didn't I. Haha...
"So, uh... do you speak English? I uh can try to draw pictures if not," he offered also in english so if there was a language barrier that would help nothing. But Aamon was pretty, not particularly bright.

Beaubaxtons looked like it had been ripped straight out of the pages of a fairytale; the sparkling fountains, the beds of beautiful flowers, even the way the ivy creeped up the castle walls. It should have been a dream come true for a girl who often filled her head with fantasies and love stories.
Winnie should have been excited, her mind should have been focused on her fiancé, but
she was still on edge after their run in with Mathias' creep younger brother, Gideon. The boy was the personification of her nightmares after he had dropped her from the owlery back in December. The traumatic fall had caused her to lose her memories and resulted in a month long stay at St. Mungo's and the psychiatric ward due to the narrative that she had jumped to her death.
He'll be here too, just ignore him. Don't let them see you flinch. The Ravenclaw reminded herself while taking in a slow breath. After she and Mathias had finished... Uh, their make out session, she had changed into a new outfit and carefully locked her trunk and bedroom door. She had changed into a knee-length dress, with a skirt made of blush-coloured tulle that created a soft silhouette. The bodice of the dress was fitted and adorned with floral embroidery.
Her hands clenched at her sides, her long nails leaving crescent shaped marks on the skin of her palms. Relax, she told herself, you're safe in public, Matt will be with you. If Mathias had made the trip with her, she would reach a hand out to grab his own and interlock their fingers.
As her blue eyes scanned the room for familiar faces, they landed on the one other person in her cabin who she knew; Bubba McGarry. A smile graced her features as she walked towards his table, if Mathias was with her she'd pull him along, "Hi, mind if we sit with you?"

Harvey had taken some time to stroll through the sprawling gardens of Beauxbatons. Yes, yes. Weren't they special the boy's inner voice mocked those around him as they squealed and yammered on about how beautiful it all was. Much too busy if you asked him. The talent of the gardeners was undeniable, but why all the fuss? The chateau itself was a wonderful construct and the way the Pyrenees provided the backdrop was a sight to envy for sure, but there was something about the medieval structure of Hogwarts that he much preferred. Clean lines and a dark aesthetics all the way!
The part-goblin blinked away the thought as he refocused on the task at hand. His goal was to attend this event and make acquaintances with those of the international wizarding community. Beneficial connections for the future could start right here and now. So, he strolled towards the entrance and soon made his way into the dining chamber. The idea of a tea party seemed slightly juvenile to the boy, but once the aromas of the food and beverage hit his nostrils he wasn't too upset about it. French architecture he could take or leave, but the cuisine was something he might die for.
After a nice chat with a girl named Helene the food could no longer be ignored. His abnormally long fingers would grab a savory pastry from the concession table and then his dark, beady eyes would scan the area for a place to sit and serve tea. A couple of faces he recognized from Hogwarts and while it was tempting to surround himself with peers, that was not the goal of today's festivities. A rather lovely looking girl he had never seen before caught his gaze and he went to make introductions, however he was not the only one drawn to her. Aamon he recognized from the Slytherin common room, but they hadn't interacted before. Harvey arrived just in time to hear his introduction.
"If she can't speak English, she won't understand your instruction." He made his presence known as he whispered to his Slytherin counterpart. "Hello, my name is Harvey Barrows." The boy gestured to himself before offering a slight bow of his head to the girl. "May I sit as well?" he too pointed to the chairs.
