#274782 Blue in English, #a62b2b Red in KoreanIt didn’t take long for the Hufflepuff to come up with apology of his own. Eun-ji though it was completely unnecessary but wasn’t really surprised. “No, it’s not your fault. I wouldn’t have told you if I didn’t want to and I don’t blame you for reacting that way either. I suppose I tend to forget the gravity of the situation since I live in it.” She reassured the boy. While still not completely sure why she told him, she knew she did so on her own volition.
“I'm really sorry you've been having such a rough time with your family... I didn't know it was so bad.” Eun-ji took a sip of her juice. Oh thank god, she didn’t tell him about her grandma’s fate then. He would be absolutely horrified. And her grandpa wasn’t doing much better. She didn’t want to think about that though. The stage incident was scary but at least it ended relatively well. Her Korean granparents were a whole another story. She didn’t think, she could talk about that part. It felt like she would choke on the words if she tried. Weak... Mrs. Hunt's voice echoed through her mind but she would immediately push it deep down into her subconsciousness, where she didn’t have to think about it too much. Instead, the witch smiled at her friend and his incredibly kind words. “You are right…I just…don’t think I know how to do that. Talk about these things with other people I mean.” That much was true. Sharing was not something her family did often and she never had any close friends until she met Elspeth during her first year. It was also hard to talk about her feelings when people around her seemed to depend on her so much. It made her feel like she was not allowed to be weak in front of them. Aaron however never made her feel that way. Sure, she was ready to be there for him if he needed her and she told him as much but he never gave her the impression that he expected her to be the strong one.
“Thank you. I don’t know about awesome but Id’s say I’m pretty alright.” Eun-ji had her flaws though she didn’t show them to others often but she knew she didn’t deserve to be treated like that. Especially by her own family. The witch could also hear the change in Aaron’s tone. He was getting angry on her behalf, which made her smile even more. Perhaps not the right reaction but she couldn’t help it. Her parents did that occasionally but other than them, no one ever got angry for her. It warmed her heart to know he cared for her wellbeing. He was wrong about one thing though. She had been sad for some time but she was great at hiding and ignoring those feelings better than many others. Dancing also helped her deal with the situation a lot so she was able to pull through just fine but he did have a point...It was about time she learned to ask for help. “I’ll try but you have to promise to do the same.” The witch said resolutely. She was also about to say they should exchange their contact information after the ball when all hell broke loose.
Eun-ji was very aware of the bad weather outside but she assumed the tent was built to withstand the storm. Surely one of the professors present would say something if they had their doubts. Unfotunately, if the crashing noise was anything to go by, they probably didn’t in fact have any. Oh no! The Ravenclaw raised her head to see the lights shatter. Surely, this was the universe playing some kind of sick joke on her. This couldn’t be happening, right? Did she betray her country in her previous life or what? Usually, Eun-ji managed to avoid danger rather well but this just brought her back to the theatre stage and she suddenly felt like she couldn’t move... Thankfully, Aaron saw the tent caving in and reacted accordingly. Quickly finding shelter underneath one of the few standing tables, not only saving himself but also pulling the raven-haired girl with him before the poles and heavy fabric came crashing in. Eun-ji dropped her goblet on the way but honestly? She couldn’t care less.
Her hands were shaking, which was unusual. She was always so calm yet right now she felt as if someone pulled her underwater. Shaking her head as if she could get rid of her shock that way, she looked at the boy next to her. It was only natural for her to check others for injuries first. Coming from the family with medical background and all that. “Are… you okay?” The girl asked worryingly. Her voice sounded almost foreign to her ears but she elected to ignore that. Aaron might be hurt…Ye-jun and Lucia weren’t here, right? She didn’t see them before. Hopefully, they were anywhere but here. “Anybody got hurt?” She asked all nearby students. She knew some healing spells now. She could help. She just needed to pull herself together.
ACTION: Being pulled under the table by Aaron to avoid injuries. Asking Aaron and others nearby if they were injured.

Hate. The word held significance in Alec's mind because he wasn't going to walk up to the first person he were too see and immediately decide he hated them. He was hyper-focused on this fact because even while true, it hosted a pattern. It was significant, until brought to a point where it meant nothing. He said he hated people, however, it almost never ended in being true to his word. Which is why when he voiced his distaste that somehow certain humans were real people, it meant less.
Alec had a habit of "humanizing" people in his head. It was easier to believe that those people were people, when he had the ability to come up with reasons for why they were the way that they were. After he did that, they became harder too hate or even dislike. He wanted too be able to break down those sorts of things in his mind. It was important. The biggest one he used likely was always going to be, hurt people hurt people. There were times where Alec couldn't fathom certain actions and it helped.
It was easier to dislike Enzo and Valentin in that moment- It was harder to give them reasonable excuses that would put Alec at ease. They were like insects, feeding off the reactions, and fine! By that point it had seemed reasonable enough to give into it. This was harder not too hate because instead of like everybody else, there were certain actions that reminded him of himself. He was bothered by it. Those were people he wouldn't have wanted any of his friends around... People he didn't want his fake date around. An argument could be made that Hanako wasn't any better then the pair, but Alec thought otherwise. The difference between the pair and Hana was the fact that Alec believed Hana had the ability to be nice. To be genuine. Besides, Hanako seemed to have an actual personality. Sure, it was an in your face one most of the time, maybe that's what made it interesting.
These thoughts moved through his mind for what felt like eternity. When in reality it had barely been a second. Alec had gotten as far as opening his mouth to go on about the dreaded pair and how alike they were too frogs(he would feel bad later, the frogs didn't deserve such a bad rep), when he saw Hanako's face.
“ I.. you.. You’re not mad?”
Alec had been so intently focused on his frog rant, he hadn't realized at first. Though his expression shifted from the one a person has when complaining, but also in somewhat playful manner, too surprise. He raised his eyebrows while his eyes widened- there were so many implications that came with those words and none of them were good. His mouth hung slightly. “What? How could- Why would I- er- what?” The words fell out of his mouth fast, the confusion and uncertainty of this situation clear in his voice. Hana had thought Alec was going to be mad. . . The questions came of why, why would you think that, I'm not mad at you. Why would I be mad? How could he have possibly dreamt that up??? Anything he had to get mad over at the moment, it really wasn't worth it. He wasn't going to get mad over little things. When people get mad they get upset, and they have lots of arguments and disagreements. It was loud and- and- Alec pushed away his trail of thoughts.
He knew by now to stop where he was at. It would only get worse from there. Instead he focused on gathering himself and looking normal. Furrowing his eyebrows, though he couldn't pull the confused look from his face. Alec tried to make out words after that point, but couldn't. Luckily, Hanako wouldn't give him time to get anything else in. Because, instead, Hanako had started too laugh.
Alec blinked, and stared for a moment, it was a reaction he hadn't expected. Unlike normal laughter, it was fairly easy to tell that this came from a place of relief. Meaning that Hanako had probably picked up on the fact that Alec wasn't mad at him. Or maybe perhaps how only five words had the ability to confuse and worry Alec so much in so little time. Both were laughable. Once Hana sobered up from his laughing(for the most part), he spoke.
It only aided too add more in Alec's confusion. Hana had told him thank you. Alec didn't understand what he'd done that had the ability too result in a thanks. The smile that played on Hanako's lips made it feel genuine, it only added to the confusion when Alec still didn't know why he'd been told thank you. Alec looked at Hanako questioningly, feeling It spoke louder then words. The look ceased only seconds later as Hana started essentially bad-mouthing Enzo and Valentin.
Alec laughed, and finally a genuine smile followed. It was easing the sick feelings he had from the events of earlier. “Cursed date hm?” Alec paused thoughtfully and grinned sheepishly. “I blame it on the juice, obviously cursed.” It was an absurd suggestion, which is why he found it amusing. A laugh followed. “Hey- It's not my fault I assumed!” More laughter. “There was a lot that could be implied from that exchange. That's all.” Alec was willing to set aside what the implications actually were for the sake of keeping himself in the mood he was in at that moment.
Alec was thinking about how Enzo was apparently referred too by Hana as Not-Hot instead. So Alec's nickname wasn't the only one that didn't make sense...? This one sounded as if Hana had been trying to be petty. The visit from karma comment certainly was, though Alec didn't mind. “Karma reincarnated then? Doing all the dirty work, are you sure you wouldn't want help?” Alec wouldn't have minded, not the Hanako even needed help in the first place. It was an aimless offer because Alec didn't have a huge interest in attending unless he planned on stirring up trouble. He didn't want a date, and talking with friends for evening in a loud crowded place seemed like a bore. He didn't have any real reason to go to the next one, he supposed time would tell.
“And you-”
Alec folded his arms across his chest, “And me..?” Alec would ask, raising his eyebrows, and prodding Hana along. His tone indicated he was amused by the possibility of what could come after those words. It reminded Alec of being reprimanded. Like a child. The and you for I can't believe you as well went along with this crazy idea, I expected better. Except that usually came from adults and didn't fit towards this situation. Either the prodding along worked, or Hana had figured out how he wanted to word what he was going to say because he continued.
To those words, Alec posed a question, “would you have even listened?” Alec knew the answer. It had to be no, Hanako had seemed to be barely paying attention. Trying to explain it would have been a waste of time. Alec playfully stuck his tongue out at Hana before adding, “It takes time to properly convey plans to people. Besidesss, I wasn't aware I was choosing this, instead of other options... Until maybe thirty seconds before I did it.” Alec felt Enzo had gotten lucky that Alec was holding back on his seemingly violent tendencies. Alec hadn't even had a plan, he just did it. What Hana was asking of him was absurd. If Alec knew how to make plans and thought through what he was going to do neither of them would have been in the position they were in now.
Alec waved it off, Hana was concerned about the oddest things. “It was probably a lucky dodge. Either that or everybody was aiming the same way.” Then Alec saw Hanako's face, the smile had vanished, it was hard to tell if it was because of what Alec had said, or something else. “Or not-” Alec said unfolding his arms and putting them up in surrender. “My intention wasn't too insult anyone or their duelling skills- It just not that hard too dodge.” He felt it was a big deal made over nothing. Alec met Hana's eyes, “even if the caster is incredible with their spell work.” He was trying to smooth things over a bit in case Hana had taken offense. Alec hadn't seen Hana duel, but considering the amount of wins the Slytherins had earned last year, he was likely better then Alec. As for the dodging thing, dodging three at once wasn't a walk in the park, sure, but even the average person had a pretty good chance of being able to do it.
This wasn't over of course, Hana had more. Someone who seemed too Alec to be rather stuck on the encounter unlike himself, who seemed to care or less about it now. Alec was waiting to hear it all. He'd heard so much from Hanako, but he seemed to be nowhere near done. There was a lot to take in the span of only a few minutes or so. One, Hana was taken aback by Alec not being as ‘duckie’ as he thought. Rude. What was that even supposed to mean? Did he want to be aiming at acting like whatever the nickname implied? Orrrr was he supposed to do anything but stick with the program? These were legitimate questions. Not that Alec could control how ‘duckie’ he acted in the first place. Two, Katherine, escape plans, and roasting were somehow all involved in this. Three, Hanako Tone was apologizing, which apologizing isn't a huge deal, but was so thoughtful. Thoughtfulness isn't weird, it was just unexpected, and unnecessary.
Alec hadn't once thought he wanted or even needed to be apologized too. An apology and practically confirmation that Hana had more in his head then he let on was surprising. Alec was left speechless, and because he couldn't figure out what too add, shifted his gaze too his feet. Maybe it he stared at them long enough he wouldn't have too at all? Alec's shoes weren't that interesting too look at, rather boring in fact, and so Alec was pleased when he heard Hana speaking again. Meaning he could look up from his shoes.
When Hanako finished, Alec was still processing it. There were a lot of words, he needed time. Really, what were words anyway? Just a bunch of weird sounds put together that have meaning only because you give it to them. So, did he even have to reply then because what if he chose not to give them any meaning at all, then they didn't matter, therefore it wouldn't matter if he had replied or not. Alec put his hands in the pockets of his pants. “I would have preferred if you had said something.” Alec hadn't been preparing to get called that dreaded name tonight. At the very thought Alec could feel himself going inward, wanting to stay quiet. Doing the thing where decisions are too much pressure and I'd rather you pick and blah blah blah. It was easier, It was safer...
Alec took a deep breath, which was followed by a laugh, and then a smile. He could do safer later- He just wanted to have fun, even if it was for a little bit. “Sorry, that was- that was um- really mean of me-” A half laugh-half scoff followed. “And that's even worse, oh my god, I am so sorry- ” Alec's face was flushed out of embarrassment. He was confused as to how he was fine one minute and now he was back to being a mess. Hanako didn't even know why he was saying this. Alec looked to the side, “I was gonna say you shouldn't have apologized. You have a right to say as little or much as you want- I assume... Roast them based on what I heard from your mouth, if you want.” Alec said, before he shrugged, okay, finally less of a mess, he looked back at Hana. Maybe now he could finally continue like a normal person! “Don't feel like because you didn't do much, or maybe give the expected reaction, that you have to explain yourself, and give reasons. It's none of my business to know,”
Alec was admittedly nosy, he liked to help people and sometimes could get a little pushy. But he felt Hana stating everything that he was caught up(in his head) with was a bit much. Alec looked down at his at his feet after that, looking embarrassed again. “Okay, do you wanna hear why my laughing was bad now?” Alec asked. His eyes avoided Hana's and best as he could. “I don't know how to explain this exactly, um, I was thinking about what you said, and um- haha- the idea of you thinking about having to roast someone and then also just escape routes. It felt random, really random. Because their both sort of opposites. I-” Alec looked flustered as he attempted to explain.
“I didn't mean to laugh at it, but I did- Then I sort of did it after because I was trying to think if what you would have come up with.” Alec said this, only to have it happen again, and he laughed. “I'm sorry, I'm not trying to make fun of you, I swear. I actually feel bad, really really bad about it-” Alec covered his face with his sleeves for a moment while trying to not be a mess once more, “also I am realizing how idiotic this sounds out loud.” He whispered.
It would take him another few minutes before he would let his arms fall at his side, composed. “Er- I'm still sorry. But I guess if you still want to deal with me for that good grade. I suppose I can accommodate.” Alec smiled saying as if accommodating would be a lot of work, though he was just teasing. “You don't really have to throw drinks, I think we're pretty even now.” Not that Hanako would have had too in the first place. Alec just didn't feel like mentioning that part.
Alec was able to be at peace, even with the little arrangement the two we're apart of. Even after that slightly disastrous interaction. “You wanna know what I find funny?” Alec asked, though from his tone he wasn't looking for an answer to that. “I threw a drink aimed for whatever his name was and his hair, it missed him completely. The tiniest drops got on his shoes. That was what triggered him. Because it hit the ground it splashed and hit his shoes.” Alec sheepishly looked at Hana. “It went so wrong and yet his main care is the tiny drops on his shoes and not that fact that how could anybody ever be able too throw a drink and aim that bad.” Alec was satisfied with this and even found it funny. “It was so bad, I don't know how I managed to be that far off.” He knew that sometimes he let himself slip and it happened but it was never that bad.
Alec was able to make the encounter easier on himself when he could laugh about it. From there he could better deal with actual mentions of it, the situation was controlled, and oh hey yeah per usual I did something that didn't go as planned and it turns out it was funny when you think about it. Still, Alec's head was drifting away from actual conversation. His eyes weren't paying attention to his surroundings, and he wouldn't notice the warning signs.
“Is there something else you wanted to do besides eat? The throwing drinks offer is off the table for now. I still think the juice is cursed.” Alec's voice would quiet as he reached the end of what he was going to say. Trying to keep himself aware so he'd be listening. Though his senses drifted not listening at all. His eyes were watching the edges of the tent closely, surely tents didn't look this unstable... There's no way that was normal. “Hey, Hana, what was that thing you said about the weather?” Alec asked as he turned to face the other.
That hadn't been normal. In a matter of seconds everything started to come clattering down. Alec's first instinct had been to try and shove Hana out of the way. But, by the time he'd been able to process anything, let alone finish the movement required to shove Hana out of the way. The metal pole had already hit him. Distracted, and dazed, simply trying to figure out what to do, he narrowly avoided the parts of the tent coming his own way. Alec rushed too Hana's aid. Alec knew he wasn't going to be of much help, but there was no point in not trying. “Merlin, I-I didn't think the whole tent would just- go in!” Alec spoke, it wasn't really directed at anybody, something that had come out of his mouth in panic. “Are you okay? That was... A literal metal pole right?! Where did you get hit?” Both the concern and panic showed clear as day on his face. Actually he was also pretty sure he had seen Hanako get hit, but everything blurred and he couldn't really remember this second because he didn't know what to do. “How bad does it hurt? You're not bleeding right?” Alec wasn't sure how much damage a literal metal pole could do.
Also what kind of people were the ball organizers?!?!?! There certainly had to be charms to deal with the weather to keep this from happening. Alec's eyebrows furrowed, “I'm sorry- I was gonna try to push you out of the way or warn you- It moved faster then I had expected and I...” His voice wasn't as firm, slightly shaky and panicky as any normal person's would be. Even if Hana had let him get a look at where he'd been hit, he was still going to keep asking questions. He wasn't Hana he didn't know how bad it hurt. “Do you think you'll be okay? Maybe I can ask Katherine to lay off on you or something- You got hurt that has to be reason enough to let you off so you can go and lie down or something.” It had only taken a matter of seconds for Alec to convince himself Hanako getting hurt was his fault. Alec hadn't been after him in time- but if he'd just paid attention maybe he would have been able too stop it from hitting Hana.

Saving and then searching for @Haley Rose
As Simon and Haley made their way back to find Emily, he heard the winds outside whipping against the walls of the tent and a big gust of it would escape inside when he elves opened a flap for an incoming or outgoing guest, but his first thought was that some big rain was on its way. He took Haley's hand and squeezed it, smiling to her when she would look his way. It was nice to be back on the mend with her after so long.
A particularly large gust came in and that's when Simon first caught the flickering lights and the shaking of the glasses on the refreshment table. Maybe it was his dhampir reflexes or maybe he was just standing in the right spot. His first instinct was that this wasn't safe and he had to get everyone out but he was distracted as he saw a support bend from above and that sent a lantern to fall to freedom directly above. "Haley, watch out!" he said, pushing her forward and out of the way.
In doing this, the heavy metal lantern avoided her entirely, but it was now Simon that was positioned underneath. It wasn't long before other supports and lights began to fall and the clanging of metal and crashing of glass could be heard all around. The broken lanterns caused a good darkness, but it was nothing compared to when the fabric of the tent came down, blanketing them all.
There were screams and there were people hurt. Simon was hurt. "Haley? Haley are you okay?" he asked, trying to feel around for her and sit up. He had gotten a bruise on his head from the metal area of the lantern and he was feeling either out of sorts from the darkness or a little dizzy.
There were screams and there were people hurt. There was blood.
Maybe it was rather lucky that he was feeling slightly disoriented from his blow to the head because Simon wasn't too focused on that part. Not right now. Instead his main goal was trying to find Haley in this broken blanketed mess and to figure out what he could do to help. If only he had mastered the Severing Charm by now, perhaps he could help tear open the fabric.
"Haley?" he called out again, hoping he'd hear her as he pulled out his wand from his pocket. This probably wasn't going to work because it was very large and very heavy but it was worth a try. He bubbled up some of the tent, so that he could at least have a s mall area to raise his wand and stated clearly, "Wingardium Leviosa!" ensuring the correct wand movement.

Fall Ball

As they danced, Flash was able to fall into the rhythm and forget where he was. The motions were easy and calming, swaying gently to the dulcet sounds of music. Even the patter of rain on the tent and distant thunder was a welcome one. It was harmonic, natural, soothing. The whiff of petrichor through the tent and occasional stiff breeze was practically a boon, he wouldn't feel stuffy or claustrophobic, it was almost perfect. When Opeila closed the tiny distance between them to continue the dance in an embrace, Flash would change little. They had not been disturbed, the chaos of the world seeming like a far-off memory where instead the two of them could finally share a blissfully stressless second.
It would feel like only a second, as the din from outside became much more violent than the soft summer storm he dreamed of. Just as their dance was ending, and the urgency of the house elves was becoming hard to ignore, the tent suddenly began to crash down all around them. Ah, the pandemonium was here. Holding onto Opeila tightly, the two would both avoid any falling objects and we thankfully unharmed. The only problem was that they were isolated from their classmates, and the raging storm was beating down upon the trashed tent. Screams could start to be heard, even one he recognized. "Eun-ji?" He'd call out, though whether they could actually find each other seemed like a difficult task. Panicked children were swarming, the canvas being blown by the harsh wind and tugged by the squirming bodies trying to escape. Things had very quickly escalated, though Flash was thankfully of slightly sounder mind now that he had a moment to center himself in Opeila's arms.
"Alright... we'll figure this out... let's look for an exit." Flash would say under his breath, Opeila tucked into his chest like a kitten being saved from a fire.
He was not so out of it that he would lose his bearing completely, he knew the general direction the tent flaps had been from where they were standing. He would help people in need once he had first helped himself.

Fall Ball
Things happened quickly. While one moment Haley was still looking for Emily with Simon, walking hand in hand through the ball area and grinning at each other and for a moment really just enjoying the moment, the next second chaos broke out. Haley was distracted by Simon for a short time and didn't notice the strong wind at first, Simon on the other hand noticed the first signs a little earlier. Just as Simon warned Haley, she too noticed that everything around her was losing stability and the first things began to fall. Haley dodged the falling lantern and was additionally nudged to safety by Simon. She stumbled forward and landed somewhat ungently on all fours, but did not hurt herself.
Everything around her collapsed, the tent collapsed, she heard screams, breaking glass and some voices moaning in pain. "Shit." Haley cursed as she tried to find her bearings and get back up. But everything was dark for a moment, she couldn't see anything and above all she didn't know what was wrong with Simon. "Simon are you okay?" she called out, not knowing if she was even speaking in the right direction.
"Oh C'mon. This can't really be happening now." Haley continued to curse to herself. Of course something had to happen again, it was a ball at Hogwarts after all. An evening like this couldn't just be normal, something had to happen, students had to get hurt. Even though she didn't want to and couldn't blame anyone for it, except perhaps the strong wind, she was annoyed and angry. But she would be able to get angry later. The goal was first to find Simon and help him and the other injured people. Simon. Panic now set in, what if he was seriously injured? She didn't know where he was. She must find him. "Simon?" she shouted again now and louder.
She was getting desperate, it was barely possible to make sense of the chaos of students, flipped tables, broken glass and lots of shouting. She stopped inside for a moment, took a deep breath and focused her eyes on what she could see, when suddenly she heard her name. "Simon!" she shouted in response, trying to move under the tent towards the voice. She struggled her way forward, partly crawling over overturned tables, tearing her dress, getting small cuts on the broken glass lying around but none of that interested her.
It felt like an eternity, but eventually she managed to get to Simon. "Gosh Simon, are you all right?" she called to him anxiously and as soon as she was within reach she took his head between her hands and surveyed his injury. He had obviously been hit by the lantern from which he had saved her and had sustained a serious wound to his head. She could see blood in his hair but had nothing handy to do anything useful or to patch him up. As she continued to look at him, moving his head to the left and right, her eyes fell for a moment on her right arm. There was a small line of blood running down it, obviously she had cut herself on the ground on one of the pieces of glass. It didn't hurt, didn't bleed much, it was actually just the one drop running down her arm. She shook her head and turned her attention back to Simon.
His head still between her hands, she now looked him in the eye. "Are you all right? Does your injury hurt badly? Oh Simon, you shouldn't have pushed me away." She almost cursed at him, but there was pure concern in her voice.

Chaos with @Lani Beckett

"Yeah, we'll go outside in a few minutes," he said, not wanting to break their dance right now. To be honest, dancing with a girl out of his own free will and not because he was expected to at some fancy pureblood event was new to him and he rather liked it. Picking out your date made all the difference, even if they were thrown together by chance at being quill pals from across the pond.
"Maybe during the Summer you could come visit...see if all those pureblooded tradition and culture as as wonderful as I lead on." This was really nice, and he was going to be sure to be spending more time with Lani outside of just the ball. He did genuinely want to see her art and to have her show him around the castle.
Miles watched her and he seemed as distracted at the moment with her as she was with him; too distracted. Too distracted to notice the gust of wind and the rumbling of the brackets that held the tent up or the lanterns in place. The large lanterns were knocked off first, crashing down around them. There were some screams. The wind.
Of course it was the wind. Miles should have been paying more mind to it. He knew nature. He knew the beauty that nature could bring as well as the dangers. "Lani, we need to get out of here," and he went to take her hand but a large metal beam fell, right ontop of him. Soon the two of them, and everyone else, was blanketed by the fabric blanket of the tent.

"That's okay, it's hard sometimes," Aaron conceded, when Eun-ji admitted she didn't know how to talk about things like this. Aaron himself didn't feel like talking about certain things, even now. He briefly thought back to his summer spent refusing to talk to his parents about the whole Quidditch thing - even now they probably had no idea why he had quit, though they probably were relieved considering the dangerous nature of the sport. And he hadn't talked about it with any friends either - not in-depth - so he understood there were some things that were hard to share. Hers seemed harder than his - way more serious, having family that disliked you, compared to having a fit about Quidditch. He definitely wouldn't force Eun-ji to share more, but it felt nice that she trusted him with what she had.Regular Text - English | Bolded Text - Korean

"Deal," Aaron said, agreeing that he would do the same and reach out to her if he needed to talk. He didn't have anything he needed to talk about right now, but it was nice to have another person to turn to. As he goofily stuck his hand out for a handshake to solidify their deal, he noticed the flickering of the lights. Instantly his chest felt tight, reminded of the flickering lights that preceded the mosp attack two years ago. He raised his brown eyes to the roof just in time to watch everything come crashing down.
The wind that permeated the tent and blew over several structures inside actually shocked Aaron back into action. Instead of grabbing Eun-ji's hand to shake it like originally intended, the Hufflepuff grabbed her wrist urgently and looked at her. "Under the table!" he said, reverting back to English during this moment of crisis. In that split second of speaking, he noticed she had frozen. There was no time to process why, so he ended up pulling her with him underneath the table they had been standing beside. It seemed like the safest place to be with all the stuff suddenly falling.
Once they were under the table, listening to the crashing around them, Aaron realized he was still grasping Eun-ji's wrist. It was.. shaking? Aaron released his grasp of her, and his brown eyes met hers just as she seemed to come out of whatever trance she had been in. "I'm okay," he reassured her. "Are you?"
TL;DR: talking with Eun-ji, reacting quickly to the tent falling by ducking under a table and pulling Eun-ji with him, assuring her that he is uninjured, checking on her

#274782 Blue in English, #a62b2b Red in Korean“I'm okay.” Eun-ji couldn’t be more relieved to hear those words. She still scanned the boy for injuries but thankfully didn’t find any. Nobody else asked for help either, which was probably a good sign. “Are you?” This made her refocus her scattered attention back to her friend. Why was he asking? She was wearing a white dress, he would know if she were injured, right? Eventually though, she connected the dots. Her hands were still shaking and compared to her calm and collected self, this was an unusual sight for sure. “Yes?” She answered though it came out sounding more like a question. Sighing, the girl ran a hand through her hair, unintentionally making her flower crown fall to the ground. It didn’t matter though, there were far bigger concerns at hand. “Sorry, It brought back some memories I guess… but I’m okay. Frankly if you think about it, this whole thing it’s kind of ridiculous,” she shook her head in astonishment because really…what were the odds? She just talked about similar incident happening to her over the summer and Aaron finally gathered courage to attend a ball after the first one only to experience yet another disaster. What a timing!
“Eun-ji?” A familiar voice swiftly brought the Ravenclaw back from her somber thoughts but she couldn’t really find the source. “Flash?” The witch called back automatically. He was on the dancefloor with Ophelia, wasn’t he? It would be nice to see whether they were okay but it would be hard to find them now even if she knew their last location. Still, the fact that the Slytherin called for her most likely meant they were okay. He probably wouldn’t have bothered if they weren’t. At least that’s what she kept telling herself in order to remain calm. Yes, calm…that’s what we need right now. Taking a deep breath, Eun-ji finally steeled herself and pushed her past problems deep into her subconsciousness. She was pretty good at that at this point. “Alright…what do we do? Do you want to stay here where it’s relatively safe for now or should we try looking for an exit?” She was trying to come up with a spell that might help them but couldn’t really think of any. Her brain wasn’t exactly functioning at 100% of it’s capacity. Looking at the table sheltering them, a strange idea occurred to the girl. Maybe making it larger could raise the fabric of the tent, giving more space to them as well as other people to move around? Unfortunately, it could also go wrong in so many ways that she didn’t dare to even suggest said idea. Perhaps Aaron has a better one. She thought as her eyes left the wooden structure and returned to her friend’s face.

Roleplaying as iNPC Valentin Everbone - Ency
Beauxbatons | Second Year
English - French
When the drink spiller erupted in a sudden fit of laughter, Valentin stared in amused confusion at him, eventually releasing a short single snort of a laugh, not knowing how else to react to the boy's reaction, "and for a second I thought you guys weren't getting on," he said to Alec, the sarcasm in his tone layered on thicker with each new sentance.
"He really is!" Valentin said in response to the boy's fake praise of his friend, giving Enzo a gentle pat on the back as he spoke, "and don't worry yourself with that," he said following Alec's mention of his friend's shoes, "the French style isn't for everyone, it didn't take me long to notice you are somewhat... behind," he said, looking up and down the boy's outfit.
Valentin didn't like him. He had known that immediately, but he couldn't go through an event such as this without winding up at least one person the wrong way. Part of Valentin was eager to pour his own drink over the boy, whilst he expected this to give him momentary amusement, the risk to his own outfit was not worth it.
A confused look returned to Valentin's face on being called a doll by the boy, "glad to hear you noticed my unblemished skin, doll-like is the perfect way of describing it, you know it takes more effort than you think keeping it looking like this with all the time I spend on a broom," Valentin said back to him, the silliness of what he had said forcing a slight grin to appear on his face. He giggled at is own loss of logic from the conversation.
As the drink spiller grabbed the other, making their way towards the exit, Valentin followed his friend's example and offered them a farewell salute, the other boy taking one last look at Enzo as he went. "Till the next time!" Valentin called out after them, "well that was interesting, you've got to tell me about him," he said as he turned back to his friend, how could Valentin not already know the details of Enzo's 'friend.' "Shame he stuck with that other one though, but yes, I'm sure they will," he said to Enzo.
"Not a problem, it's given me the time on deciding on our entertainment for the evening, and it looks like now would be just the right time to get started," he replied, smiling at his friend. "As you can see, I am without a date, and I think it's safe to say so are you," he began, briefly glancing in the direction of where the two boys had fled, "but I think, we can change that for each other," he said, his smile now a coy grin, "what we have before us is a room full of-" he started before being cut off by the shattering of glasses close to them.
Before he could get out any kind of comment, the tent came crashing down from above them. Luckily for Valentin, he had spotted the disaster as it unfolded and quickly leaped out of the way of the falling structure. When the heavy fabric of the tent had stopped it's decent and lay still, encasing everyone in the area, Valentin got back to his feet from the crouched position he found himself in after opting to duck under one of the tables nearby.
"I'm here, all good," he said checking himself over despite not feeling himself injured from the collapse, "are you okay," he asked, worried for his friend as he tried to catch sight of Enzo. His eyes finally locked onto his friend, and a sigh of relief washed over him, he looked okay on the surface, "what on earth was that?" he asked, now becoming increasingly aware of a couple of injured students around them, who knew how many in total were in need of help. "Come on, we should check what we can do to help," he suggested to Enzo, "and there's him," he added, gesturing to where the drink spiller was fussing over his injured friend. He allowed his friend a moment to consider his next actions, whether Enzo would want to check up on the injured boy or leave him in the care of the other one.

Being not hated was nice. Hate used to be a wonderful reaction from others when he was younger. And expected one. With time, came change. And change said that being hated by Alec was not nice. With Hana’s mood swings and temper tantrums, it was probably best for Alec if he did hate Hana. But change also said Hana has learned to be more selfish. He’ll take this neutral response as a good sign.
. “Cursed date hm?” Alec paused thoughtfully and grinned sheepishly. “I blame it on the juice, obviously cursed.”
“ Gosh, don’t say such things. I’m pretty sure I drank way more than I needed to. But if I can blame the night on a cup of liquid then yes sure~” blame it on the juice, as Lizzo would say. Taking into consideration the full song, the quote makes less sense. But Hana will only take in what he wanted to hear, and that was the drink was the problem, not him.
“Hey- It's not my fault I assumed! There was a lot that could be implied from that exchange. That's all.”
Hanako shivered uncomfortably at the thought of dating someone as infuriating as Enzo. Dating Opeila sounded less mentally draining compared to the Beauxbaxton student. The torture!
“Karma reincarnated then? Doing all the dirty work, are you sure you wouldn't want help?”
“ And get your hands dirty?” he laughed. “ Katherine would give me a C immediately. But in the future, perhaps when we’re not on a fake date. And Katherine is not around..~” The idea of getting revenge on the slippery slug made Hana chuckle. “I suppose it’s much more fun with friends. No?” Would it be too much of a stretch to call Alec a friend? The troubles it would give would definitely would cause Hana a headache or two. However, being caught in the wondrous moment of not being hated, Hana couldn’t care less.
“I would have preferred if you had said something.”
“ Ah..” Hana let out, revelling in the silence that followed after Alec said that. Expecting nothing but forgiveness, how silly was he to think that? He had to be a little mad. It would be creepy if he just automatically accepted it like it’s nothing. Hana understood that.
“Sorry, that was- that was um- really mean of me-” A half laugh-half scoff followed. “And that's even worse, oh my god, I am so sorry- ” Alec's face was flushed out of embarrassment. “I was gonna say you shouldn't have apologised. You have a right to say as little or much as you want- I assume... Roast them based on what I heard from your mouth, if you want. Don't feel like because you didn't do much, or maybe give the expected reaction, that you have to explain yourself, and give reasons. It's none of my business to know,”
And now Hanako understood nothing once more. Why was he the one getting an apology this time? Yea, sure it felt good, but misplaced. Hanako couldn’t think of one reason where Alec had to apologise to him. For saying that he preferred Hana do something? Same, honestly. Hana preferred if he said more himself. Hana debated on whether he should point that out for a while. In the end, he thought the last thing he needed to do was to stay silent further.
“ It’s not? Because….last time I checked you’re my date. Fake. But still a date. And our main goal here is to have fun. And we weren’t having fun earlier, and for whatever whacko reason- I didn’t back you up. And you’re not allowed to be a little mean about it? No. It’s not even mean it’s just, validly upset. Valid. Hell, I preferred if I said something as well. Don’t feel sorry for being upset, as you should.” Frankly, it made him uncomfortable as well. Like he was given something he didn’t deserve to receive. Alec deserves an apology. Hana didn’t. But he kept the last comment to himself. “ You’re a wonderful apologiser. But in this context and as of now, leave the apologising to me, yeah? You can apologise next time when you're actually in trouble”
“ Okay, do you wanna hear why my laughing was bad now?” Alec asked. I actually feel bad, really really bad about it-”
“ Do you really~?” Hanako rhetorically asked, soon matching Alec’s laugh with his own. Unable to resist the contagious laughter of Alec Mason “ Yeaaa I can definitely tell by your continuous laughter. How dare you I- I need plans that have backup plans and backup plans that need more back up plans! “ He wasn’t actually angry. More amused than anything, but his master plan that never really a ‘plan’ was made fun of. How could he idly stand by without defending himself?
“Er- I'm still sorry. But I guess if you still want to deal with me for that good grade. I suppose I can accommodate.”
“ Lovely. I promise I’ll be the one throwing a drink at another ex that comes to greet us~”
“You don't really have to throw drinks, I think we're pretty even now.”
Hanako smiled at that, but chose not to comment. Even? They were far from even. Alec may feel satisfied, being the only one that took action. But Hana was far from being satisfied. The next time he saw that slippery bastard, he hoped a lake would be nearby. Could he swim, maybe? Hana will find out later on if he was lucky.
“It was so bad, I don't know how I managed to be that far off.”
“ His priorities were a bit off, weren’t they?” Hana commented back with a small laugh of his own.
“Is there something else you wanted to do besides eat? The throwing drinks offer is off the table for now. I still think the juice is cursed. Hey, Hana, what was that thing you said about the weather?”
That we shouldn’t let it ruin a good night. But the words wouldn’t come out of his mouth, as much more distracting things took away his attention. The howling wind, the house elves in trouble, the tent. Oh god, the tent. While being too caught up on the fact the drinks might very well be cursed, he failed to evade as swiftly as Alec did. Next thing he knew he felt a pang of pain spread through from the side of his forehead. Having massive head pain right now, he couldn’t see the tent engulfing him and a few others.

FudgeFloorFidgetFanFiddleFootFatherFigFunFinland. Hanako was running out of F words as well as his patience. He had to be cursed, right? He had hoped for a good date twice under 1 hour. And in the next minute either some slippery slug comes to sprout nonsense, or a beam falls on him and he’s now stuck under a tent. Gosh, world. He knows he’s going out with a taken man. But it’s literally a fake one. And it’s only for one day! Must they show this much distaste to that? Hands slightly bloodied, his temple burned from the earlier hit from god-knows-what, and now stuck under a dark tent separated from Alec. There were the worst people in the world. There was Enzo. But where was that slug? Under this tent and injured as well? Noooooooooo. Can’t hear his annoying voice anywhere. But Hana? So that's where fate’s priorities lay. He’s never hoping for a good date. Never again. Screw that. He’ll say it 10 times in a day and Hogwarts will probably have another war.
“ I can’t deal with this bull tonight” he grumbled under his breath, showing no concern for the others who fell along with him. Who told them to suck at dodging as well? He attempted to stand up, only to be stopped by the thick veil that draped over them. “ Lumos “he said, trying to conjure light with his wand.
Can’t get out when they can’t even see. He’d doubt the lights would work after all that ferocious wind earlier. One tip he learned from attending prior disastrous balls? Never go without a source of light.
He was also very pissed. If he wasn’t going to be the torchlight, he was going to start another source of light that was more flammable than a Lumos. Being pissed off and hurt was not a good combination for Hanako. Instead of searching for a way out, he sat down carefully the grass wasn’t covered with glass and whatnot.
“Merlin, I-I didn't think the whole tent would just- go in! “Are you okay? That was... A literal metal pole right?! Where did you get hit? How bad does it hurt? You're not bleeding right?”
“ I dont… think so..?” bleeding was the last concern he had. Can someone stop blaring alarms in his head? Why did everything sound so loud and so quiet at the same time? Clearly, Hana was not okay. Whether from the bruised ego his evasion skills left him, or his head feeling like it’s about to split open. As much as he wanted to appear he was fine, he was on the ground, one hand on a bruised head, and proper English communication skills decreasing.
Alec said a couple of things after that as well.
Mfdufmfbleehhehshahfsdnnllieeedownnnorrosummfinngg.
“ I’m alright “ he instinctively said without a shred of doubt that didn’t match the way he was looking around like someone who lost their glasses. “ Peachy. Totally. Just give uh, give me a minute “. He would've said more, but felt a pang in his head once more so off he goes, to manage his breathing and make sure he's breathing out carbon dioxide and not fire. Once he stopped being overdramatic, he’ll address the bubbling anger towards himself and the juice that caused all this. “ So uh- hm. What-did-you-say? Are you okay. You're not um.. ouchies....?” Alec had to be okay right? He just invented a new language Hana pretended to understand just now. How surprising. Even with the headache, he could think about others other than himself. He'll dwell on that later when he doesn't want to disassociate himself from his pain receptors.
