SAVE YOUR DATE : Round 1
Rebecca grabbed Irina's hand some time later in the night. "Rina, come on," he hissed excitedly in her ear.
He shot a quick smile at the poor bloke she was here with... Wimberly... or something. "Sorry lad, mind if I borrow her for a second? There's a good fellow-" and sped off, dragging Irina in tow.
He ignored any spluttering from him or Irina as he kept walking, but once they were far enough away he looked to his friend, now smiling like a loon.
"Alright, so, I just overheard a third year talking about a competition that the school is hosting tonight for the Ball. Damsel in distress gets rescued by a knight in shining armor, blah blah blah." Rebecca waved a hand dismissively.
"But the kicker is, whoever wins gets a free trip to Madame Puddifoot's next Hogsmeade Weekend! Irina, please, you have to help me." He smiled a little awkwardly, ears turning pink with a bit of embarrassment. "Plus I already signed us up." He added sheepishly. "So you can't really say no. Jannette didn't want to, and I couldn't find Vee or Colin, so..."
Before Irina could protest they arrived at the Owlery tower, where the announcement of the rules had just begun.
Rebecca mouthed Sorry! at Irina as he was escorted away up the steps with the other "damsels" by a masked older student. He bumped elbows with Colin on the way up into the owlrey room. "May the best man win, eh?" he whispered, smiling.
Inside the Owlery was freezing. There weren't too many owls about at this time of night, Rebecca suspected most of them were out hunting or whatever birds did when they weren't sleeping, but the stone floors had a healthy smattering of feathers and pellets (lovely).
The doors were locked tight. The game was ON.
There wasn't much in the way of furniture, so Rebecca set about sticking his hands into the alcoves that the birds would normally be sleeping in. It was gross! There were lots of mouse skeletons, and Rebecca wondered how many of the students who had pet rats had to worry about an owl gobbling it up. Nevertheless, he pushed on.
He hoped that Irina was doing well with whatever her task was (and that she wasn't too cross with him right now).

SAVE YOUR DATE : Round 1

Dialogue: X | Thoughts: X
"Where would yo..." Irina was about to ask Wynn where did he would like to go when she felt her hand being pulled by someone and a voice approached her, "Rina, come on,", she cringed a little being caught by surprise with someone so close to her ear, "Loops! What..." but her Snek friend was already excusing himself to Wynn and was dragging her away from the Ravenclaw boy and the Pet Zoo. "Wynn, I'm sorry I jus..." she tripped on her own feet trying to keep up with Loops and at the same time trying to look at Wynn who was now behind them. Luckily she got her balance on time, by holding herself on Rebecca's arm. "I'm sorry!" she yelled to Wynn over her shoulder.
"What happened Loops? What are you so excited about?"she asked her friend letting an amused small laugh escape from her. Even if she felt bad leaving her other friend behind, she could never stay mad at Rebecca, especially when he looked at her with that wide, enthusiastic smile. He was now explaining her about the game he heard about taking place at the owlery. When he mentioned the prize was a free trip to Madame Puddifoot’s Irina got equally excited as her friend, “seriously? To Madame Puddifoot’s? Even first years?! That’s sooo awesome!!” She said giving a small jump of happiness and then kept walking next to her friend.
"Plus I already signed us up. So you can't really say no. Jannette didn't want to, and I couldn't find Vee or Colin, so..." Rebecca was talking now to her seeming a little embarrassed and trying to justify himself…but she decided to interrupt him, “Stop it! I know, I know I was the last option…” she said dramatically, then a playful smile kept to her lips while she winked at him, “too late for sorry now! Hope there’s a dragon inside of the tower or this would not be fun enough!” She called to him, while he was taken by other figures with scary outfits.
Irina looked around her then, all the other competitors there were older then she, at least the majority of them. A voice called her attention, one of the responsible committee started to tell them what their first task would be. She looked at the corn maze trying to figure out how to pass through it. She looked at the sky, towards the almost full moon, she was feeling a little drained from her normal lively energy, but this game made her gain motivation to pass through it. She’s not a good looser, she would do everything to rescue Loops from that evil owl’s tower! So she would turn that old enemy, the moon, into her best friend, trusting in its light and in the sharpened senses it gave to her to guide her through that maze.

They/SheBeing the one who happened to know their way around the school better, Pax led the way to the game, hoping Chikao was following close behind them.
When they reached the owlery however, Pax was quickly ushered away and lost sight of Chikao quickly. They were led to a corn maze with the others, though Pax did keep glancing back to see where they'd taken Chikao.
Nodding every now and then to show they understood the rules, they began to worry a little. Mazes were not particularly their strong suit. Memory in general wasn't, aside from the occasional random fact, their best attribute.
They wouldn't ever admit but maybe Chikao would've been better for the maze. However, they hadn't a clue what could be the challenge for the damsels. There was a chance they could be even worse at whatever Chikao was having to face right now.
Needless to say, they were still gonna give it their damn best shot. If they knew anything, it was strategy. They scanned across, seeing what the other players were doing and what sort of tactics they may be employing to get through the maze. It'd have to be a game of luck, but Pax wasn't sure if luck would pull through.ReducioStats:

A few minutes earlier, Lloyd and Eloïse agreed that she would be the rescuer. It was crutial for Eloïse to break these codes that the society has instaured centuries ago. And it was the occasion for her to forget the summer games and a way to show people that she was more than the "popular perfect girl".

Closing her eyes as Lloyd was taken away, she prepared herself. It was Hogwarts, everything could happen. But they were students, under 17 and they were under the responsability of the school. So it would be fine. Theoretically. When Eloïse opened her eyes, she was glad to see that not only guys decided to be rescuer. She smiled while grabing her wand.
A corn maze. Easy. Except if the organisation decided that even the first task would be hard, Eloïse would only need her orientation sens and her will to finish the maze. And she wanted to finish the maze and the "quest". She didn"t mind of not finishing first, but she wanted to finish, and not being last. The clock chimed.
— Et c'est parti. Let's go
Eloïse started to walk through the maze, always staying on the right side. When she was unable to see very well, she put her hand on the right "corn wall" of the maze. Thinking of Lloyd and his last words before leaving, she was trying to know if he was ironic or not. She didn't wanted him to be very proud of her. Because if he was, that would mean that he didn't actually thought that she could do it.

Chikao stood in the Owlery, fascinated by the structure and a bit surprised by the number of feathers that littered the entire area. He was about to make a comment to Pax, but when he turned around and noticed they were already gone to which he chuckled quite a bit. He was to take the role of the damsel, not something everyone would expect but he himself didn't mind. He was rushed inside, placed it on the top floor, and given instructions by the committee of "scary" witches. He was impressed by the eerie look given inside and he was honestly debating on what to do.
At first, Chikao figured to just sleep and be the helpless damsel who waits on their hero to come to save them, but no matter how hard he tried he just couldn't find the right angle, comfort, or spot to fall asleep. Too many feathers tickled his skin, or splinters in the floor would poke at him. Perhaps the room was too spooky for the boy... nah, that couldn't be it. Well, either way, Chikao couldn't fall asleep and as such he decided to look around a bit more at the scenery. He felt a little bit bored, hoping Pax would show up soon. He looked outside the windows wondering if he could jump his way all the way down. There was little chance he'd survive, and such he roamed back inside waiting.

ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | The pumpkin cookie was delicious. Kim was enjoying it quite a lot and was looking forward to sampling the rest of the items on his plate. Well, until someone rudely interrupted his little snack time. That person grabbed him by his arm and then pulled him into a warm hug for some reason. Kim instinctively stiffened, not liking the closeness. He'd always been someone who preferred to not be touched, no matter what the reason might be. When the person finally drew away, Kim realized who it was. Bailey Glade. The girl who was his owl pal and who tended to call herself his bestie. He supposed it was true, Bailey was the only person he felt close to now that Sophia... Kim felt sadness come over him. He didn't want this night to end, as it would be the last time he'd see Sophia, for awhile at least. Although, her cryptic last words made him wonder what she meant by 'we may never see eachother again'. It also made a chill run down his spine. What had she meant by those words? Regina was also someone he was close to but that was to be expected as she had been his childhood friend. However, he didn't feel as close to her as to Sophia and Bailey for some reason. Colin and Pax were also people he felt comfortable with. Precious also fell into that particular category. But Sophia and Bailey were in a different class. They were different from the others. Special so to speak. Kim couldn't really explain his feelings on the matter. Of course, his parents would have reminded him that having feelings for anyone was usually considered to be a weakness that could be exploited by others. They'd told him over and over to never let his true feelings be seen or known by others. Yet he'd fallen into the trap and his walls had come down a little, despite their warnings. Now he was paying the price for starting to care too much. At least he hadn't fallen completely, that was the only thing he took comfort in. Speaking of Sophia... where was she? This was supposed to be her last night at Hogwarts, right? She'd told him she was leaving the morning after the ball and that they would share their last moments together during the ball. Kim had planned something special for the two of them and even had brought something to give her as something to remember him by. He knew she would absolutely love it and it would remind her of the good times she'd had at Hogwarts. But the one who had grabbed hold of him had not been a certain redhead-turned-bluehead and he'd known that the moment she'd hugged him. Kim pulled himself together and placed a fake smirk on his lips. "Whoa. Slow down there!" "Do you really want me that badly?" He tried to tease the girl before him, one hand holding the plate of snacks. The other hand held a mug of pumpkin spice latte. Were it not for this, Kim might have tried to flick Bailey's forehead. But he didn't want to drop or spill the food or drink. As Bailey asked if he was alright, the orange haired boy raised a brow. How was she so perceptive? "Of course. Why wouldn't I be? Are you alright?" Kim asked with a raised brow. But Bailey's next words made him blink in confusion. "Save Your Date? What's that?" He couldn't help but be curious. Wait, what? Bailey was the rescuer and he was the damsel? What did Kim have to do? Eh, he could probably figure it out and it was something to take his mind off his current thoughts. Might as well do it. That was his frame of mind until Kim recognized the area they were heading off to. The owlery. He had a bad feeling about this but decided not to think the worst of things. Yet. Kim noted the trail of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans strewn along the pathway as he was dragged along by Bailey. Part of his latte was being spilled and he almost lost some of the desserts on his plate. But was able to manage to save the food from hitting the ground on the way. They finally reached their destination. It was at the base of the owlery and already Kim was experiencing nervousness. He didn't want to go up. But it looked as if that was where the participants were going, not all of them, but all of the damsels. Which included him. Kim closed his eyes and pretended to himself that he was just going up to send an owl letter to Bailey. It was nothing out of the ordinary, no need to freak out. Yes, the owlery had been decorated to look more spooky than usual but that didn't bother him! It really didn't! Kim tried to tell himself this. As they were separated, Bailey hugged him again and promised to rescue him as fast as possible. Kim nodded, although her last words made the boy snort. Have fun? How was that possible? More like impossible. At least there were people to help him get up to the top of the tower. When Kim got there, he realized he was in a room with a lot of windows. Oh great, just his luck. He didn't want to be anywhere near those windows. Having an extreme fear of heights was the worst possible thing to have in a situation like this. The only thing that would make things worse would be if a cat showed up in the room too. For a few seconds, Kim remained where he was. Away from the windows. But then he started to think, this was a game. He knew the rules. Bailey was the rescuer and Kim was the damsel, which meant Bailey was supposed to rescue him. But was he just supposed to wait for her to come to him? Or was he supposed to be doing something at the same time too? The more he thought, the more it made sense to him. The damsels also had a role to play but what exactly was it? Could it be that they were supposed to find something hidden inside the room? But what was it supposed to be? Since Kim had never read a lot of muggle books, he wasn't aware of this particular fairy tale. Regardless, the orange haired boy started to search the room for something that might help him or his rescuer out when she came. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

Save.
That was the one word that ran through her mind as Kayla, remembered the game she needed to do.
"Come on, game. I signed us up," she said to Nico, "Sorry, Athena, we need to go. Theres a game and all, but we'll be back as soon as it's done. Oh, gods, no time. Bye Athena- enjoy!" she waved at her best friend and poked Nico, signalling him to follow her. But being impatient, she dragged him, following a small trail of candy.
Save.
That word pounded in her head as they reached the owlery, and she let him go.
"Okay, I only have so long to explain. I signed us up for a 'Save your date' game and I'm gonna rescue you," Kayla tried to say as quickly as possible, "Yeah, you didn't know, but it'll be fine. You just need to sit tight, Princess, and your knight in shinning armor will come get you. Well, maybe you'll have to do some stuff. Just listen to the instructions, and trust yourself or whatever." She finished explaining and listened carefully to the other instructions. She looked over at Nico again and smiled
"Okay, go over there. I'll see you later." Kayla wasn't sure if this was something she could do, she wasn't very prepared, but it would be fun, right? Thats what it was about. Fun. She smiled again and walked away from Nico, turning to her group of rescuers.
"I can do this, I can do this, I can do this."
She looked back once more, before shaking her head and going to the beginning of the maze, and as the clock chimed, she raced into the maze, emerging into complete darkness.
"You got this, just a bit dark, what's the problem?" She muttered to herself. She felt either side of her before retracting her arms to herself.

Bubba woke up suddenly with a sharp intake of breath. He was laying on a cold, rough stone floor. Where was he? And how had he gotten here?
Bubba and Sam had gotten split up somehow. They'd been in the courtyard enjoying the ball when they spotted a trail of... candy? What on earth? Calling to mind the tale of Hansel and Gretel and its more modern version, The Creepy Guy With the Panel Van, they decided it was prudent to investigate, lest a horrible fate befall some poor ickle firsties. He was fuzzy on what happened next. They had started to ascend the stairs of the castle. He ran his hand over his head, which he'd just realized was aching, when he felt a bump on the back. That's right, he remembered now, they'd gotten to the base of the owlery when he felt a sharp pain in the back of his head and, well now he was here. Of course. He was at the top of the owlery. He, as quickly as he could, got to his feet. He was a little wobbly as he massaged the back of his head, "Welcome to the party, pal," he said to himself.
He suspected he knew already but he walked to the owlery door anyway to try and leave. As he pulled on it, finding it was locked, he heard a shrill, evil rasp, The damsel is trapped on top of the tower of doom. Whatever shall they do? Are they going to stand still and wait for their rescuer to come and save them? The damsel tries to look at their surrounding, Oh, what could they possibly find in the wicked witch's den? A potion perhaps?. He could hear the disembodied voice but he was very confused because it certainly didn't sound like Hans Gruber. Finally, as it finished all he could think to say was, "Jesus Christ take a Ricola or drink some water or something, it's like nails on a chalkboard."
So he was to be a damsel in distress. He looked down at his (now very dusty and smudged) tuxedo. He certainly didn't look very damsely but somehow he didn't think the witch or whatever was holding him prisoner would care. He was her plaything now and he would just have to try and find a way out. Was there even anyone coming to rescue him? Had Sam made it out? Was she looking for him? He decided he would have to assume that Sam had also been taken, and he would operate under the assumption that he needed to save them both.
The witch had mentioned a potion, would it make him fly? Make him strong enough to break down the owlery door? Or would it just poison him? Was the whole point that there was no way out and he would be trapped up here forever? Deep breaths, he told himself. Calm down, focus, and work the problem. He walked over to the window and looked down. There was no way out without help. He resolved to start searching the room for this potion. He looked everywhere he could think of. He started with the scattered leaves, grass, and hay that had been blown onto the ground, but he'd always assumed that was a low percentage chance. As time went on and he thought more he decided to check the less obvious places. He started walking along the walls and knocking, trying to find a secret compartment of some sort a potion could be hidden in.
As he worked he spared a thought for Sam. He hoped she was at least safe.

So Ash decided to play, and Marius was very curious to see both how fun the game could be and whether or not his team would win. Before they started, each player had to pick a role, and each member of the group was to be a "rescuer" or a "damsel". In spite of the names, the committee ensured the players that they had nothing to do with gender; sex; or stereotypical, outdated stock characters in old fairytales.
The Hufflepuff did not want to be selfish and thus offered the Gryffindor the first pick. Apparently, Ash then decided that the role of the damsel would be more interesting, and so Marius settled with the rescuer role.
After all participants had decided which role each of them would play, the committee members separated the rescuers from the damsels. Afterward, Marius and his fellow rescuers received the instruction that their first challenge would be to find the way out of a corn maze. It was described to be a spooky maze, but Marius was not scared. Was he nervous, yes he was. Or perhaps he was excited, or both. But he definitely was not scared.
There could actually be a surprise in the maze, he thought. A sinister scarecrow perhaps? In that case, this should turn into a juvenile detective fiction, except that this really happened to him.
This was going to be so fun.

Sherlock could not really say why he was here. He had been crying, still was, from arguing harshly with a student he did not even know. Or to be precise, he felt that said student had been treating him in a way that was too harsh for him despite he was sure he had done nothing wrong against that pupil, and now the little Belizean felt both sad and humiliated. He simply did not like it when people shouted at him.
Fortunately he ran into Agata, a schoolmate and fellow second year, but it was not enough to stop his tears, at least not at the moment. Perhaps that was why she invited him for a game, to cheer him up. She had even let him choose the role first, and shyly the boy picked to be a damsel. He did not want to admit, but his imagination was tickled, and it painted in his mind the picture of himself being swept off his feet by Miss Princess Right, taken to her palace far away, and they lived problem-free happily ever after. How romantic it would be...
In this game, though, the committee members explained that he and the other participants were not to wait passively. Instead, they had to search for a potion, or so they hinted. Sherlock was not sure what kind of potion he was to look for, but he did it either way.
