Magical Masquerade: the actual ball
Percival was feeling comfortable speaking Irish, it gave him that feeling of home that he didn't normally get from being at Hogwarts. It was odd to find out more about Winnie this way, especially when they both had so much in common. She was more interesting than he initially thought, which was quite rare for him to think considering many of the students in his year were as thick as an old floorboard.
Winnie was certainly a different case
Momentarily, he hesitated to answer her question about joining him at the bookstore during the holidays. His mouth opened but when he was about to mutter the first words the sneaky Niffler made him change focus. When he jumped, his arms tried to wrap around the creature only for Winnie to hit him hard. Percival grunted and fell to the floor, along with his mask that was now out of arms reach.
At first, his head looked to the right to try and hide his face from the girl above him. However, after a few seconds, he knew it was no use. Slowly but surely, he looked up to her with blushed cheeks "Winnie..." Gray muttered at first, uncommonly lost for words "Before you say anything, please do not be upset" he said with care as he looked her in the eyes, unsure of what her reaction would be in finding out she was talking to him all this time.
"If I told you who I was off the bat, your mood would have been worse by my presence alone"

In the current position their predicament had placed them in, there was no way for Percival to hide his identity anymore. The mask lay discarded on the ballroom floor beside several of the roses that had adorned Winnie's hair. The locket the Niffler had stolen was long since forgotten. Winnie's widened blue eyes stared down at none other than Percival Gray.
Percival, the boy who she had once made a silly strawberry badge for, the boy who had once accused her of playing with Jack Warren's heart, the boy who had sent in a letter to the Hogwarts Headliner stating (incorrectly) that she had many suitors, and Percival, the boy who she had punched straight in the face when she found out about said submission.
He was there blushing. While looking at her. Did he think being so... Damn adorable would get him out of this situation scot-free?!
"If I told you who I was off the bat, your mood would have been worse by my presence alone."
Well he was right about that, the last thing she wanted was Percival Gray telling her 'I told you so' when she approached him in tears over Mathias' betrayal.
"Y-You..." Her voice broke at first, her chest rising and falling in quick succession as she tried to steady her breathing. A manicured hand reached down to touch his face, as if she were testing him to see if he were some kind of apparition despite the fact that she was still practically laying on top of the poor guy. "I don't understand... You were nice to me...? Why didn't you just walk away? Were you trying to trick me because... You think I'm some sort of emotional ticking time bomb?" She whispered her accusations at him instead of her usual angry screech, fully aware that the Slytherin had every right to assume she would explode, given their history.
As if she were finally realizing the position they had been placed in, her face flushed again and she quickly scurried off of him, lest some onlooker start some sort of rumor about them (if your character is closeby feel free to).
Maybe Winnie would be angry later, but luckily for Percival she was in too much shock to do much but stumble over her words, "I... I'm sorry-- I didn't mean to ruin your night--" Tears were stinging her eyes and she had to blink them back. Why was she getting emotional? Because she had a good time and hoped for... What? She was dating Mathias, Percival hated her. She was meant to hate him-- Oh Merlin, don'tcrydon'tcrydon'tcry. "I'm just-- I'm just going to go." She reached down to gather her gown's skirt, already starting to sprint towards the entrance.

He listened intently to her explaining how she grew up. Nodded along with every key piece of information that only left him in slight awe. “Ah..you grew up with…best of both worlds..” he mumbled under his breath in understanding. He nodded firmly seeing him explain about her mother being a small-town doctor. “That's admirable… you must have learned a lot from them. For me I.. I am muggle-born... My family and I had to learn a lot of new things. But I ah..never have been good at magical things..” he said in a softer tone, careful not to sound so sad. “ B-but..Im very good on a flying broom” He added with a small attempt at a small assuring smile. Which unfortunately looked more like a sneer. But he hoped she’d see through that. “I learn most things from my friends in Mahoukotoro.”
After he apologised for not being confident enough to heal her, she reassured him it was okay and he let out a soft breath of relief he didn't know he was holding. A small low grumble of a chuckle came out of his lips. One that usually sent chills down anyone else’s spine. But he felt assured enough that he could laugh around Emmalee. Besides… she had so many other times where she could be terrified of him and judge him. Instead she’d been understanding and transparent. It was impossible to not start feeling comfortable around her.
His eyes widened slightly at her using honorifics and bowing slightly. Surprised yet somewhat amused, he mimicked her and returned the bow back. “ Sara is just fine. I know cultures can be different. My close friend is from America. I feel comfortable with just Sara” he assured her. Unfortunately, their little small moment was interrupted by a sheer scream in the crowd of the ball. Sara’s shoulder tensed at the sound and curled his fingers into fists.
While he was too frozen to do much, Emmalee sprung into action. For someone who grew up with not a lot of magic, Sara was astonished at how quickly she could move her body to start a spell. As if she had done this many more times than he ever did. But he didn't have time to be in awe before she plopped to the ground, immediately making him stand up from the chair, as if ready to help her. Things were going so fast, that he couldn’t spill out a single word of worry over her actions. Though from just his posture and deep frown, it was pretty evident he wasn’t all that pleased. To his relief, she seemed rather frustrated as well.
“P-please no walking it off, Emmalee..” he suggested softly, but the tension in his voice made his tone a bit gruffer than usual. “Don’t hurt yourself..” He extended a hand as if ready to pull her back on the bench. But then her eyes seemed more drawn to the chaos at the ball. His frown however softened when she mentioned her friend. “ Your friend..in danger…?” he said slowly as if the words were slowly being registered in his head.
No way. That won’t do. He understood now what was necessary. She had the same resolve as him when it came to her friends. He would be a hypocrite if he stopped her. She didn’t even need to say much. Once she gave the suggestion to carry her on his back, he stood in front of her and crouched down with his back facing her. His build and muscles adequately proved to her that this order would be a piece of cake for him. “Get on. Careful. Please” he said, somewhat commanding despite the gentle ‘please’. “Point where your friend is. I will be your legs”. A sentence he never really thought he’d ever say. But there were a lot of surprises tonight.

Mentioning: @Beatrice noticed the surprise in Shimizu‘s eyes, as Ying shared that Beatrice was a Quidditch player, not her. She blushed ever so slightly - thankful for her mask at that moment - because she was well aware some people thought her incapable of playing such a fast paced an violent sport, let alone be a seeker. The Prefect truthfully felt quite embarrassed by that thought, maybe even intimidated because she secretly feared they were right. Beatrice was only second string seeker, she had not officially played in any game yet and the metaphorical shoes that Dan would leave behind were quite big to fill.
„Ying is really very good in her position, it is magnificent to watch.” Beatrice caught herself from falling too deep into her thoughts and smiled at Ying. She turned back to Shimizu when he started talking about how they trained at Mahoutokoro, which truthfully sounded rather scary. the talking about Broom sports went on for a bit but Beatrice was rather distracted by what was happening around them, which she knew was rude but she couldn’t help it. She halfway listened but only really turned her attention back when Ying mentioned wanting to be a healer.
„You want to become a healer?” The surprised tone in Beatrice’s voice was not meant to be insulting but it made her heart beat faster. „I did not know that about you..” She smiled and was happy about finding another thing her friend and her had in common. „I am actually planning for healer too. It is why I focus more on School Work, Sports and being Prefect than on other events at Hogwarts. We do have an option to become an intern in our hospital wing and help out around there, for gaining experience and responsibility, in third year. As for other Events, I haven’t been to camp at Hogwarts, although I am thinking about joining the summer camp this year, we shall see.” The smile on her face grew as she thought about future possibilities. „What about you Shimizu? Do you have any set plans for after School?”
When people around them started getting more unpleasant, they moved from the entrance into the actual ball, which left Beatrice feeling more relaxed. They entered the location with tall trees, lights, food and a good atmosphere all around them and while they made their way to the refreshments table, the brunette wondered whether or not it was safe to drink and eat these. She remembered far too many occasions were exquisite looking refreshments had been spiked with potions at Hogwarts. Both Ying and Shimizu choose to pick up something and try, while Beatrice opted to not take anything just yet.Actions: Conversing, Thinking

Magical Masquerade: the actual ball

Sharing a dance with a stranger, Stephen Schwartz/@AngelFyre McCubbin
About the time that Miles decided he would switch roles and let the other lead, it seemed his dancing partner was getting more adjusted with this dance so he decided to let it be. They began to work well together, or at least more so than before, and Miles was able to note that his partner was the perfect height, the perfect build. Wait, perfect for what? Obviously just mechanics of dancing. That's all.
That's all!
Their dance became smooth, full of balance and control with an elegant sort of gracefulness. There was a rising and falling on different beats, a natural movement, and he remembered once someone stating that the waltz was a romance of unspoken communication. Surely that wasn't what was happening here.
His partner's words pulled him out of his thoughts and back to the dance floor. It was an iquiry as to what prompted him to ask him to dance. The REAL reason - as he obviously wasn't convinced of what he had said earlier with it being the truth or dare game. Of course it was the truth or dare game that caused him to ask, whatever else could there possibly be? Miles looked off, just over his dancing partner's shoulder as he attempted to find something to say.
"When one starts off at a social function by becoming a wallflower, they tend to remain a wallflower. One must learn to participate in life - step forward and allow the sun to shine upon them and their roots to spread in order to thrive and not shrivel into nonexistence."
He could feel it was time to say his goodbyes to this dancing partner of his; mainly because of the thick confusion that was beginning to cloud his mind as several big questions were coming forth and weighing upon him; questions that included that of his dancing partner.
The song came to an end and Miles moved his hands back down to his side. "Thank you for the dance," he whispered, bringing himself into a bow to show his appreciation. If anything, he at least danced once at the ball and when writing to his parents when they inquired about his experience there, he could tell them such. He just might need to leave a few details out, even if those details were going to become quite unforgettable.

Magical Masquerade: the actual ball
He truly knew he had spoken too much when Ying followed up with her question, nothing escaping that alert mind of hers. "So...you're afraid of flying? Or is just the idea of having the ocean right below you?" He narrowed his eyes, mainly at his frustration with himself for even having this weakness, and for admitting it aloud to anyone. He was glad that his expression was mostly masked behind the face of the kitsune. "Flying is fine," he found himself saying, even though it hardly was, for him. He could do it, albeit unsteadily, and surely not happily or willingly. "It's just that I would truly have to love quidditch if I were to join the team and practice under such harsh conditions. I would prefer to leave it to passionate souls such as the both of you." A bit of him regretted that he couldn't find it in him to admit more to Ying, who was smiling so innocuously that he wondered if it would've been fine just telling her the truth.
He couldn't let a hint of a proud smirk emerge across his lips as Ying surmised he must be a talented spellcaster, which he truly believed he was. But of course, he mustn't make this conversation just about him. He listened as Ying explained the thrill of strategizing for broom racing and passing each obstacle, and how Bea advocated for her friend's ability. "I can see that," he murmured, in agreement with both Bea's assessment and Ying's affirmation for her own passion. "I guess there's something exciting about seeing yourself accomplishing feats that others might find impossible, and doing it better than you previously had each time." He was also very competitive at heart.
He caught the sarcasm in Ying's remark about a ball and camp each week, and couldn't help responding with a small huff in agreement. Even the Hogwarts students themselves seem to think the place was sometimes a mess, but as Ying put it, it was also the best thing that happened in her life. Why was that?, he wondered. Did she come from a family with limited means? He truly didn't know if he could say the same about Mahoutokoro, though he supposed it would be better than being stuck at home with a private tutor, with no way of measuring his progress against peers to gain any satisfaction in how he was performing.
"Becoming a healer isn't easy," he noted, remembering the high scores, impressive extra-curricular and leadership resume, and hands-on practice one would have to receive to become qualified. "Is that one of the reasons why you want to pursue this route?" he asked both his companions. He wondered briefly if it was something he would like to do, too, if given the freedom and opportunity. His dark gaze shifted to the side with brief uncertainty as they asked him: What did he want to do in the future? Did he have any plans after school?
However, just as he felt himself wavering, he snapped his eyes back to theirs with renewed determination. "I'm going to work with my father, who manages a real estate business. He helps manage a small shopping area in Kyoto, similar to Diagon Alley in London." He kept the description simple, preferring not to mention that it he would be inheriting the ownership of this business from his father -- the owner -- at a future date, just as his father had inherited the business from his forefathers. "It'll take some time to learn everything I can from him, so it's good to start early, right after graduation," he said, with the same conviction as his parents had, echoing their very words. Did saying it enough times, to enough people, make it more real? Make him want it more? Perhaps, repeating it would make it real to everyone around him, and disgrace him if he did anything different. Only then, he couldn't -- wouldn't -- allow himself to back out. He would not think about his many hours of dueling practice and spellwork, wasted on a future of negotiating with clients, government, suppliers, and contractors.
He downed a few gulps of cucumber limeade to wash down the bitter taste in his mouth from what he had just said. The drink seemed to lift his spirits a little bit as soon as it slid effortlessly down his throat, loosening his tense muscles. Did the colors of the flowers seem more vibrant? Did the guests around him seem more excitable, making him more elated? "It really is beautiful," he mused, as if opening his eyes to their fairytale-like surroundings for the first time, in response to Ying. "What is life worth if you can't do exactly what you want, like everyone else here at the ball! This is the place that is free of societal expectation! You can be whoever you want!" he hollered, as if intoxicated. "Right, Bea!?" He beamed at her. But why wasn't she as enthused about a life of freedom as much as he was?? He couldn't understand! It was so perfect for him here! Little did he know, the cucumber limeade was speaking his innermost thoughts for him, euphorically.

Russian Swedish Open to Interaction Norwegian EnglishA bright smile lit up Greta's face as the wolf-masked boy (@Marshal Mozor)reached slowly for the drink. For some reason, he seemed a bit taken aback by the presentation of the beverage, but she didn't mind. At least until the moment when it occurred to her that perhaps she had made an error in her selection. She sipped hers. He on the other hand, examined his, going so far as to lift it to his nose to take a sniff at it, but never brought it to his lips. Greta's brows furrowed, watching at the odd display. "You don't like?" A hint of a pout flecked her query, the doe-eyes that had been searching his expression dropping to peer as the bubbles of carbon released from the side of his glass to burst in tiny little displays at the liquid's surface. The longer she looked, though, the less it made sense. Why did he ask for a drink if he didn't want one? Why did he accept that one if he didn't like the choice? He didn't even give it a try!
And it certainly didn't help when Astrid (@Anastasia Varney)tried to speak up. Although the previously strange mixture of Russian, Norwegian and English that had spilled earlier from her tongue had finally decided to settle solely on English, Greta couldn't figure out what she was saying. "What weird like..." she repeated quietly, chewing over the words while trying to make sense of the sentence. "Quidditch smart..." She blinked. "What is it you are saying?" Under normal circumstances, the little Valkyrie may just have assumed her grasp of the English language simply wasn't sufficient enough to understand the message being relayed, but in this moment, she actually did comprehend each individual word. And they did not pair together well at all. Especially in the context of the wolf having asked how the drinks were. The more she tried to figure it out, the more frustrated she got.
The little one had fallen silent. Astrid made no sense. And the wolf didn't like his drink. A sullen expression took root as she peered down to her own drink, then back over her shoulder. This wasn't turning out how she had hoped at all and the potion laced within her own drink grasped hold of that confusion and sorrow, twisting it into overexposure. Her brothers had abandoned her, letting her go off thinking they were right behind her. It hurt to think that they would keep her out of their fun. It wouldn't be the first time, of course. She had come leaps and bounds in integrating herself in the group, but they always had their special little nicknames for each other and inside jokes and moments of significance. Try as she might, it was never quite the same with her. They were protective, and inclusive, but she would always be the little sister.
Thunk.
"Fine, you not like drink." Glass knocked on wood as she roughly set her drink down on the table, its contents sloshing momentarily up its sides. She had wheeled around, a sense of rising agitation leaving her restless and in need of movement to release the energy. Since the wolf seemed to have no interest in the berry beverage she had gotten him, he was relieved of the burden of holding it, the drink taken from him and abandoned to the table. Fingers classed around his wrist, her tiny frame keenly starting to move in the direction of an open space nearer to a source of music. "Maybe to dance makes a boy thirsty," she suggested, a petulant sort of determination knitting itself into her features. This was a ball, wasn't it? There was supposed to be fun and dancing, wasn't there? Though most seemed to be content enough to chatter amongst themselves, at least a few had been dancing earlier. The picture perfect evening and plans (she hadn't seen the arrival of a certain American (Opeila Winters), and wouldn't have recognized him even if she had) coveted for the weeks leading up to the affair were crumbling. Obviously, she would have to make her own fun. And if he didn't know how to lead, well, it wouldn't be the first time she had to teach a boy how to dance.STA | 5 STR | 1 EVA | 15 WIS | 10 ARC | 12 ACC | 20Action: Confused, annoyed, upset. "Isn't it?" Ying asked Akira as she displayed a bright smile and her dark eyes sparkled beneath her spring mask. She always had to fight to keep her enthusiasm in check every time she talked about broom racing. She didn't want her feelings to be too obvious and not polite. She knew that behaving too spontaneously and expressing her sincere excitement would probably be worthy of a silent, cold scold from her parents, so she had learned how to hide it showing just a more open smile and keep her tone of voice as much collected as she could, "I love that actually, to face all those challenges, work with my team and realize the growth opportunity it gave us." She replied to him, before turning towards Beatrice that had so kindly complimented her skills at her favorite sport, "Thank you Bea." She told timidly, feeling her cheeks getting warmer and a light shade of pink that was partially hidden by her mask. Realizing that their conversation had only been around their sports and school, Ying wanted to make a slight change of topic and so she asked about their plans for the future offering them her own first.
"You want to become a healer?” Beatrice asked her with surprise in her tone. "Well...ye...yes!" Ying replied being a little caught out by her friend's admiration. "I..uuh...sorry Bea! I suppose we never talked about such topic!" Ying stated in a friendly and cheerful manner, "Isn't awesome to learn new things about your friends?" She asked mirroring the smile her friend was giving her. "Yes!" Ying continued with enthusiasm, "I also heard of it, I have every intention to sign up for it next year, can't wait for actually start learning and experiencing how exactly is to be able to work at the Hospital Wing, to start being able to help others!" She confessed to both her friends, her attention now turning towards Akira when he asked them the reason why they were opting to follow that difficult path. Ying's smile slightly faded and her expression turned a little more solemn. "I've spent the majority of my life at hospitals and receiving treatment for...for my condition." She began to choose her words carefully now, debating whether to tell everything or keep it all vague. Her mind worked quickly and she knew it wouldn't be easy to keep it to herself, as healing magic would treat most health problems. "See, I was born with asthma and things weren't easy until I arrived at Hogwarts." She informed them. This revelation made her suddenly feel very exposed and Ying couldn't help the anxiety that began to wash over her, what her statement implied was always a subject that made her uncomfortable to discuss, especially around people she had just met. The young Gryfiindor cursed herself in her thoughts for leading their conversation towards that topic. Beatrice already knew she was a muggleborn, but she had no idea how Akira would react after getting acquainted with that knowledge too. "So...you see.." She continued, with a nervous smile, feeling her throat getting dry, needing all her willpower not to fidget or give any more sign of her unspoken concerns, "I want to be able to reattribute and become someone that will be able to help healing others in need." She finished, looking briefly at her feet as the weight of her revelation seemed to weigh heavily on her shoulders, but she suppressed it and looked back at Beatrice and Akira, with a small smile, but with hope that this revelation had not changed the course and the friendly atmosphere that had surrounded their small group until now.
"You will like it Bea." Ying said with conviction, "Summer camp was fun in my opinion. I shared my cabinet with some...peculiar individuals. But there was plenty of fun activities to do! Including falling from my broom for the first time!" She said jokingly, sending a sly smile to Akira, this time her words were empty of bitter feelings, contrary to what was normal when touching the topic of that 'little' incident.
Ying listened with curiosity to what Akira's aspirations were for his future. She noticed the change in his demeanor, how quickly his gaze changed, but she couldn't understand the origin and reason for it, because when he responded to them, his words were spoken with so much conviction and certainty that Ying was truly impressed by that. "That actually sounds interesting, Akira. I would love to be able to visit that place in Kyoto one day. To be honest, I would love to be able to travel the world, see all its beautiful and magical places!" She admitted with a polite smile.
The stadium was always a beautiful place for her, even though she wasn't a Quidditch player, she always enjoyed participating in every match possible and rarely missed one of the games. But that night, that night was really like walking into a fairy tale. Ying couldn't imagine how a place could become so enchanted and full of sparkling nature in such a short time. Her muggle mind sometimes still marveled at recognizing such possibilities, sometimes, she wondered, if there was a real limit to what was possible to achieve and what was not possible to turn into reality. Ying took a sip from her drink and asked her friends if they shared of her sentiment. Although, as excited as everything seemed, she certainly hadn't expected to hear it so openly commented on by Akira. The boy spoke so lightly in his heart that Ying was speechless for a moment, looking at him with raised eyebrows. But then, a slow smile appeared on her rosed lips as she felt infected by his enthusiasm, "Dance! Aigh, toyoudanceallwecando!" Wait...what? "candodancewehappy!" She tried again, but her words made no sense. Her dark eyes widened in horror as she clapped her small hand over her mouth to stop her from continuing to speak. She looked from Akira to Bea and from Bea back to Akira trying to see in them an answer for what just happened, "Happeneddrinkya?" She tried to ask, but to no avail, her sentences were still a jumble of nonsense. The young lioness felt frustration rising within her, slightly bringing her hot temper to the surface. Her eyes darted around, trying to figure out who was to blame for that bad joke, but in the middle of all that turmoil, was impossible to find a culprit. Although, she kept in mind, that if she ever found out whoever did that, they would certainly have a heavy bill to pay back!

Dancing with Aurélie Duval @Ophelia Northwell
Reducio
Speech: #cfa120
Thoughts: Italics
Thoughts: Italics

With Emily and Aurélie dancing calmly - albeit with the hint of unease shared between the two of them - things were seemingly starting to settle down. Though that wasn't to say that the effects of Emily's drink were wearing off quite yet but so long as she could keep herself right while in company, she would wait it out until the dance was over.
However just when she thought she had everything finally under some level of control Emily spotted a little black shadow scurrying under a table ahead of her. She scanned it closely whilst she continued to dance with Aurélie before it dawned on her on what she had found.
A Niffler...?!
For her first dance Emily could not anticipate any of this; turning up to the dance without a partner, getting borderline poisoned by her drink, suffering the effects of said drink and now... Little petty thieves, the rodent crows of the Wizarding World. Emily hadn't read too much on Nifflers but knew more than she needed to learn that they were very much a fan of shiny things. All of a sudden, Emily felt very self-conscious of the mask she still wore over her face. If there was one target they could want to get their hands on it would be the mask.
Emily could sense that Aurélie had caught on to their unexpected appearances as she spotted two more nearby on the other side of the dance hall. She was suddenly brought out of her distracted state when Aurélie asked her about her hobbies.
"Me? Oh heh... Well, I like to read... and write. I'm also a big nature lover and love being out in the greenery with wildlife and animals."
Emily spotted a Niffler coming their way. Either by paranoia or gut feeling, Emily couldn't tell through her drink's effects but she couldn't shake off the feeling that this Niffler was eyeing her glitter encrusted mask. However she wasn't going to let herself slip up and instead remained focused on Aurélie.
"W-What about you? Any hobbies?" She squeaked a little, trying to keep it together.
When did talking and remaining calm become so difficult?!

Magical Masquerade: the actual ball

April 13, 2024 - Masquerade Ball
To his utter surprise, the Fox answered his question. Stephen thought about his answer and remembered his disastrous Spring ball a couple of years ago when the schools’ Hexwizard Champions were announced. He had made one pathetically lame attempt to ask a stranger for a dance and was roundly ignored. Stephen very quickly came to understand then what the Fox was speaking of now. Not to be seen was rejection on a whole different plane and could affect one’s thinking about themselves at a subterranean, soul deep level.
He gazed at the Fox and pondered over his words. Was he speaking from personal experience or simply from the point of view of having observed what happened at almost every dance to some unlucky few. Luckily for Stephen, he knew he was seen when he visited Hogwarts by a special someone. Truthfully, he knew he was seen even when not at Hogwarts. Ironically, he was prompted to accept the Fox’s invitation to dance precisely because he was so seen by that certain someone. It had seemed imperative at the time to throw her off balance and be able to sneak by her, but had it come at any kind of cost? To EmmaLee? To the Fox?
Before Stephen could say more, the waltz came to an end and the Fox made a formal bow and a stiffly polite exit. He stood in the middle of the dace floor and watched him walk away until he disappeared into the crowd. It hit him momentarily that he did not even get the fellow’s name, but the tail end of that thought was interrupted by a frenzied number of people now exclaiming that their jewelry was missing. Returning his focus to his immediate surroundings, Stephen saw a number of nifflers moving about the venue and many were being chased while others were digging. Wow! He must have really been concentrating on dancing backwards to have missed all of this mashuganas (craziness).
He laughed and then set off on a hard target search to find EmmaLee. Hopefully nothing of hers had gone missing.
For too long, anyway.
