Thankfully his reflects kicked in. He was able to rolled away just in time and the crazed carrot girl missed him with her curse. It was a spell he was familiar with and wasn't fond of. He was about to gloat, but in his moment of pride he had forgotten about... Well, Pride. The knock-back jinx hit him square in the chest as he had just managed to scramble to his feet. The unrelenting force of the spell sent him flying backwards. Another white haired Durmstrang student would serve as his landing pad. Valentin Schnell (his writer has given me permission). Val was friends with Felix's shield, erm, good buddy, Yefim, so the two had been acquainted in the past. Whether or not their relationship went beyond that was to be determined.
"SHIT." He swore after the two collided, quickly pushing himself onto his feet, "Are you okay? Some redheaded asshole, I think he was the Mahoutokoro champion--." He couldn't be certain, he had heard the matchstick of a boy arguing with his banshee girlfriend about it. Upon noticing another Mahoutokoro student was present, he switched to Russian. "Yefim, where is he--... I..." Felix had already started frantically searching for his friend, one that could provide back-up, but he was seemingly nowhere to be seen. "Need help." Dammit, he was going to look weak if he couldn't handle this on his own. He had to make it seem urgent, had to reel Valentin in. He knew his class mates had been talking about school pride after the incident with the boat, he could try and play on that. "It's a matter of Durmstrang pride." He tried to explain quickly.
There was no sense in waiting, he had to cast another spell. One that would keep the jackass from casting at him, or at least distract him. As he saw the redhaired bitch go in for a kiss he knew just the spell. Readying his wand again, he pointed it towards Mathias. "Slugulus Eructo!"

Hiro blinked as Valentin was knocked back.
Not by him this time. But by someone else. Someone else with white hair.
He looked vaguely familiar for some reason. Hiro let his eyes flicker over him for a few seconds. As the white haired boy spoke, talking about Mahoutokoro, he realized he must be referring to his roommate. Not the current champion, Aryaan Shamsi. As the boy noticed him and switched to Russian, Hiro wasn't surprised. Most people would have taken offense by his words. But Hiro wasn't most people. He wasn't about to start any fights with other schools.
Not without good reason. Like if he overheard them plotting to try and kill his roommate... that would be one thing. But just talking shit about him was their right to do so. Everyone had an opinion. As long as they didn't put their 'opinions' into actions, whatever. You couldn't stop someone from thinking something different from what you thought. That was impossible. It was a pity he hadn't studied other languages. But Hiro hadn't had much time.
He was busy enough trying to get his purple robes to turn navy blue.
Not to mention that in his off-time he was always out and about trying to bug everyone.
One of these days he'd try and learn a language. But out of all of them, he couldn't decide between French and Russian. Both were of interest. Hiro heard the name Yefim and recognized it as being one of the Champions. Durmstrang's if he recalled correctly. But the pink haired boy couldn't figure out the rest of what the white haired boy was saying now. He emphasized something, whatever it was. But Hiro did happen to hear the name Durmstrang.
That combined with Yefim, did it have something to do with Yefim and Durmstrang? Upon seeing the white haired boy cast a spell at Mathias, Hiro watched with interest. He had no intention of stopping him because this was more like a duel between the two of them. The pink haired boy didn't think Mathias would appreciate him trying to help him. So he didn't do much to stop the foreigner. But he was rather interested in seeing him active with spells.
The slug spell wasn't that bad at any rate and could be erased quickly with another spell.
Meanwhile, Hiro turned his attention back to Valentin again.
He was still much interested in the White Immortal and wanted to talk more to him. Even if the latter didn't want to. Well, Hiro could talk for the both of them if that was the case.

Felix didn't want to call it staring.
He’d been doing too much of that recently. Although, he’d prefer to call it ‘being highly observant of others’ which he was anyway. Staring, or observing, was what he’d been doing for the past few minutes anyway, dark hair handsomely brushed back, one foot kicked out in front of the other as he leant casually against a pillar, exerting confidence and calm that inside he most certainly wasn't feeling. Felix never usually felt bad about things, doing mean things, cruel things, let alone something that had been an accident. It was well known that he was a ‘tease’ and not in a nice way. That he was ‘rude’ and ‘cruel’. Whatever people wanted to say- it was probably right, and Felix didn't mind it. But this. He couldn't quite escape the small twinge of guilt he’d felt after that drop.
Felix’s eyes burned fierce holes into the backs of the people around Kim as he observed the boy from afar, registering shamelessly how the burns did nothing to de-handsomfy the younger boy’s stature, but rather, made him look even more pretty. As much as staring at Kim was highly entertaining, Felix was still on his search for Akemi. He tore his gaze from the sight of Kim, to catch his own reflection in a nearby goblet. Goodness, he was handsome, maybe he should just stick to staring at himself.
Detaching himself from the pillar, Felix stood and made his way to the festival area in the courtyard, hoping he would be able to breathe better in the fresh air, and regain some headspace. Felix stirred clear away from the crafting activities, wrinkling his nose as he passed at the silly decor people seemed so invested in creating for each other. Finding a solitary spot far away was hard, but once he did, he leant against the nearest object with his back turned to any observing onlookers and gulped down a lungful of fresh air, savouring its evening tang.

He definitely did not love her for her brains. had he been a muggle he would have seen a loading screen in a perpetual loop.
"Matt, I love you, but... I have saved your life twice now. You are a powerful wizard, but you lack..."
"Lack what?" Go ahead and say it woman, I am too pretty for this life. He already knew
"Stamina."
He gave her a smirk in reply. "I am fine dear," he assured her. They had to hit him to hurt him and he knew it. Of course he saw the consequences of him being hurt more times than one. He practically begged Warren for that beating. He was only hurt the other time because he was distracted by her.
"Preparing?"
There was no more muscle beneath the voluminous cloth. If anything he probably felt a bit thinner, he had grown taller but not thicker.
"I don't like everything."
Liar.
"If you put someone else's name into the goblet why was my name drawn? And--"
It finally hit her, well the most obvious parts in any case. That Drakos was merely a target, a target earlier than she ever knew. From the moment their paths crossed and the red thread of fate had bound them irrevocably. The lies build upon shifting foundation, he had done everything right and still it went wrong.
"... You were protecting me."
"Why do you think they ask for a 'special person'? They were not planning on giving them a parade," he reasoned.
"Why didn't you just tell me?"
"Tell you what? When?" He left abruptly, and even if he knew far in advance that this competition would resurface through the unfair advantage that was his bloodline. There was still her reaction, the fall-out, the belief that there was another. That there was always someone else. That Drakos was more than an irrelevant. That he mattered as a love, a friend or even an antagonist. That he would have been missed if gone. That he was anything more than a convenient and formulaic diversion.
"You really still think I've moved on?"
"Why wouldn't I?" It was a rhetorical question for someone that was on someone else's arm. An alleged ex of all things. Mathias was able to deal a lot more than he was able to take.
"I... I didn't... I was just hurt, and after you said those mean things to me earlier--"
"You. I-- I did not say a thing until after you were here with him," he stammered incredulously.
"I guess I wanted you to believe I had, believe we kissed, a-and.... Um, to hurt you... B-Because you hurt me."
"It worked," he muttered. Not wholly admittedly, if it had he would have accepted the role of champion regardless of the special person victim named. Wouldn't he? That was what he was telling himself at least. The boy was confused, he was somewhere between enamored and indifferent.
"But now that I know you still love me..."
"Love is a strong word," he protested his eyes slightly wide. A dichotomy of thought -- flight or... well, fleeing slower after maybe making out or something. No fleeing, fleeing was the better of the plans.
She was closing the distance between them. Shit woman, let me think!
"... I'm not giving up on you... On us."
Meanwhile, Felix was depriving some poor Russian village of their idiot. He was not going to pursue the loud-mouthed foreigner, he had embarrassed himself thoroughly and publicly enough already trying to give Pride what was his. All Pride needed to defeat the whole of Durmstrang was a magnet and perhaps a shiny set of marbles.
While he was screaming something about pride, he missed the Durmstrang part, he would send a final Flippendo his way. Hopefully sending him out the door after his loud leader.
Action Flippendo on Felix.

Try as he might, Henri couldn't stop the familiar dark satisfaction curling inside his gut when Lindsey stumbled on her words, no doubt astonished by his genuine compliment. He'd always prided himself on the ability to charm anybody and get on their good graces, and even though it was bad to have such a big ego, Henri mentally gave himself a pat on the back for successfully swaying the Hufflepuff beauty on the first day they met. It seemed like the chaotic interruption to their evening was already a distant memory, only thoughts of learning more about this Lindsey Springhall inhabited his mind.Interacting with @Lindsey Springhall

Henri tried not to think how incredibly uncharacteristic it was of him to making so much effort for a stranger he'd only just gotten acquainted with, and let out a hearty chuckle at the brunette's playful behavior. How odd it was that Henri wasn't feeling as bothered as he should with Lindsey, like every other time he spent communicating with other people (whom he secretly considered to be of a lower class than him). It was perhaps the way she talked - so elegant and yet not distant - or maybe even the way she laughed - the sound as pure and melodious as chime bells...Nobody had ever been able to catch the boy's attention and keep it like this before.
He was eager to discover out what it meant.
"What a coincidence. I was hoping to learn more about you as well. Especially your passions in life. The things that make you happy," Henri said, walking side by side with his lovely date and offering her his arm in the typical gallant fashion. Physical contact was the key to eliminate any emotional distance, after all.
A darker, much sinister part of him warned that it was dangerous for him to become attached, to allow another person to manipulate his feelings (like his useless Mère had attempted so many times). Henri didn't trust anyone but himself, for no one would understand who he really was and what had shaped him into a being incapable of love. But Henri reasoned with himself that Lindsey was an important connection. She was the daughter of a Pureblood family, and if he played his cards right, he'd be able to leave behind a good enough impression to establish footing within the British Wizarding community. One small step at a time - patience was a virtue.

@Henry KnightAdlai felt her cheeks slightly flush as Henry held his hand out to her, waiting for her to take it. She wasn't sure why it happened, or why she suddenly felt nervous. Maybe it was because she didn't truly expect him to offer to dance with her, even after telling him twice that it was what she wanted. Maybe it was because she had never seriously danced with anyone, especially not at a ball.
A soft smile began to tug at the corners of her mouth as she allowed her fingers to begin too inch towards Henry's hand before it abruptly vanished. She looked up from where her almost dance partners hand used to be to his face. Something was wrong. Loki, Henry's feline friend, had been gone for quite an unexpected amount of time.
"I have to get him, it will only be a minute and then I'll be back," he said then promising Adlai and other companion a dance when he returned. Adlai simply nodded her head not saying a word, her hand still hovering in the air as if an invisible one would come and whisk her away.
Of course she was concerned for Henry and Loki, she had become very fond of the cat. However, she couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed by the situation. So close but always so far - she thought, before she turned and said her goodnights to Henry's friend and vanished into the glittering, twirling crowd.

In another circumstance, Flash would have been afraid of the outcome, had he been so open about himself so early in a relationship with someone. He had lived his whole life being told how to present himself, and witnessing the amazing effect of a calculated façade. It was how his family controlled their luck, through the manipulation of their public opinion. Just as he had discovered with himself, he had started to question about his family-- it was not a structure built to last. Not being genuine, always being vigilant, and hiding behind perfection made one seem completely in control, but it could not last forever. There was always a tipping point, always a time when it became too much. The fear that he had of this release of tension, of others knowing he was just as out of control as everyone else, was planted inside him unfairly.
Instead of being chastised, despised, or ridiculed, Eun-ji thanked him. How greatly he had underestimated the desirability of his trust. Had he fooled everyone into thinking his friendship would benefit them, had he tricked them into seeing something beautiful amongst is ugly behavior? More likely it was the grander truth he was yet too young and inexperienced to grasp, the plight of all humans who require connection to live and thrive. Little did he know, the game of society that his family played was not the only way of the world, and despite being surrounded by loving friends, he considered it all transactional and conditional. This made her words confusing. Many had tried to teach Flash of his inherent worth, but it wasn't something easily learned.
"Anything."
Flash would answer quietly as they walked. His voice would be as tired and weak as he was, but it wouldn't lack conviction. He felt hopeful to think that there might be a way he could repay her someday. In such an act, he'd have the chance to display his appreciation through action. Sometimes words felt inadequate. With her confident strides and Flash's careful trust, the two would not need long to get through the doors back into the Great Hall, and over to the tent nearby that housed several of the interns and the head nurse. The familiar smell of lavender beyond his sight reminded him he was safe as long as he was in her care.
Eun-ji would continue to talk easily, the two of them at this point being common conversationalists. The rhythm of it guided him back to normalcy, almost as though he hadn't just faced devastation. Then again, he was so restless and uncomfortable at this point that he was reaching delirium. He would nod along about her advise on speaking to Willow, seeing the wisdom in the approach she offered. To her answer about secrets though, he'd be surprised again, almost enticed to raise his eyes to behold her expression. Sometimes he needed to be reminded that he was not the only person suffering.
"Talking to you is so easy Eun-ji... it's almost frightening." Flash was brutally honest again, his voice basically a whisper. "If I told you... you would..."
Flash trailed off, realizing he no longer knew who was nearby. His heartbeat quickened with sudden fear, remembering he didn't know where Marion had gone. She could be anywhere, waiting for him, with some unknowable intentions. He was only here for one thing-- the only tiny fractional semblance of control he could manage. He would lift his head and his voice to the direction of the most human noise. "Could someone please give me a bandage for my eye? It's not an emergency."
It would not be long before the message got to Nurse Brumby, as the tent was fairly small and there weren't many patients currently. As the situation was fairly obvious, the eyepatch would be handed to Eun-ji once it had been excavated from the medical bag he kept his muggle supplies in. Meanwhile, Flash would be in darkness, still clinging to Eun-ji's side.

ACTION:Helping Flash cover his eye in the Healing tent
Blue in English, Red in Korean“Anything.” Flash sounded exhausted and distraught but she could tell he meant it. It was nice to hear somebody had her back even though she still couldn't imagine herself asking for it. In any case, with how her life was right now, Eun-ji wouldn't be surprised if she did need help at some point. She suppressed a sigh at the thought, not wanting her friend to think she had any issues with their current predicament because that was definitely not the case. Did she wish he didn't have to go through all this? Absolutely. Was she annoyed that she was the one to take care of the aftermath? No, not even a little bit.
Carefully but confidently, Eun-ji managed to lead Flash into the Great Hall and oh God was it a mess. She had to fight the urge to gasp as she was assessing the damage. The Slytherin couldn't see anything right now and she didn't want to cause him any more distress. Why did the kids always have to go and ruin everything? She frowned as they walked towards the small Healing tent. “Talking to you is so easy Eun-ji... it's almost frightening.” The boy at her side spoke up once again and he immediately had all of her attention. Destruction be dammed. “It is a bit scary, isn't it?” The witch agreed thoughtfully. “Although I find it equally comforting if it helps in any way.” She admitted without hesitation. Eun-ji didn’t feel like she had to watch her every word whenever they talked. She knew he would listen yet wouldn’t pry if there was even a slightest indication that she didn’t want to reveal more and she’d do the same for him. Today however, it looked like Flash did want tell more. Unfortunately, by now they reached the tent and the boy stopped himself before she could hear the end of it. I would what? Be scared? Think less of you? Abandon you? There were so many options to finish that sentence. She wasn't fond of any of them and didn’t dare to ask. Not now at least...too many people around.
“Thank you,” The Ravenclaw smiled at the school nurse as he passed her the eye patch. Since Flash was still clutching her arm, she took the opportunity to lead him a bit further away from the biggest crowd. “Flash…your secrets are yours to keep. I won’t ask you to share anything you are not ready for and I’m not going to pretend to be some kind of noble being that can accept anything without batting an eye.” People liked to promise such things…she did not. How could one possibly know their reaction before hearing what the other person had to say? Pretentious nonsense. “I’m flawed as any other person here. Less than some, more than others. I care for you a lot though so I would like to believe I can handle whatever you are willing to give. Either way, it is your call.” She would whisper all this so nobody except for them could hear. It felt strange expressing her fondness this directly but her voice didn’t waver. Flash has been pretty open with her tonight and she thought it was only fair to do the same for him. “Now…I’ll need you to put your hand down so I can cover the eye. Keep it closed and bear with me. It will only be a second.” The witch promised, waiting for the boy to follow her instructions. Once he did, she would gently brush his hair out of the way and cover the eye with the eye patch, carefully so it would stick nicely. “There…all done Mr. Pirate.” She said with a smile.
The smile faltered a little once she briefly glanced at the ruined potluck table. Food was very important to her culture. It was part of everything. Form keeping the family together, to weddings, festivals, funerals and ancestral rites. It made her sad that people couldn't care less about the effort people put into their dishes. It's fine. There are more important things to worry about. The girl reminded herself, swiftly turning back to her friend. Not like she could do anything about it now. What was done was done but perhaps there was still something she could do for Flash.

To his words about his fear, Eun-ji would agree. If anything, it made him want to know her even greater, made him feel understood. When she had taken him from Burnett, he had originally felt like he was taking advantage of an excuse to escape. Now, he almost felt like Eun-ji wanted to help him, like he was no burden at all. Of course, this was not an alien experience to him, he had dear friends who did him favors out of a love for him, but Eun-ji's means of support and care were so... poignant. He would not have words to describe the feeling it gave him, but the fear in his heart would gradually leave while in her presence.
"Yes... I know what you mean." When he answered this time, his weariness would not be half so apparant. Things were improving. They were safe, for now.
After Flash had asked for help, he heard Eun-ji's voice cast away from him, before feeling her guide him somewhere else. He was still cognizant enough of his surroundings to deduce what was going on. It would be clarified shortly after, as Eun-ji instructed him to prepare for the bandage. Dutifully, he would lower his arm, opening his blue eye while keeping the damned brown one shut. He would get his first good look at her, wisps of soft and saturated blues and whites wrapped around her like a storm cloud, while glittering jewels nestled amoungst her hair, twinkling like the onset of rain. She looked surreal, immaculate as an angel. He'd not notice a shred of the chaos around them.
As gently as he had come to expect of her, she applied the bandage, allowing Flash to open it again into darkness. It was far from a total relief, the theft of half his vision was one he didn't yet know the full repercussions of. Another thing to adjust to. His ability to see, to defend himself, was now partially crippled. It was thoughts like that, and the reality of his situation, which had started his spiral in the first place.
Catching him off guard, Eun-ji would then call him 'Mister Pirate.' Flash would at take a second to process it, looking briefly dumbfounded, before a scoff would eject involuntarily from his gut. After that, laughter quickly tumbled after. Feeling a swell in his heart, he could hardly believe she could manage such a feat. Little did he know, he had acquainted himself with someone sincerely incredible. One of his hands would reach for his mouth, instinctively shielding his boyish grin. It felt inappropriate to be laughing, yet he could think of no good reason not to. It was certainly better than being miserable, so it couldn't be all that wrong.
"Oh Lord..." Flash would bumble out, as his short laugh came to an end. "I better get used to that distinction."
Pausing for another moment, gazing at Eun-ji bemusedly, Flash would not take long to come to a decision. For all the secrets he had, be them something he hid intentionally, or all the things he never mentioned or explained, there was one he felt he had no cause to hide from her. In fact, for once, he wanted her to know him better, for some reason.
"This is... my eye..." Flash started twice, not sure still how to broach the subject. It wasn't a pleasant topic to talk about, no matter how he swung it. Still, it was him. "Before you met me, I had blue eyes. Both were blue."
Flash's smile would waver, his eye casting to the floor before looking around them to see who could be listening. This wasn't exactly a secret, anyone who knew Flash before knew his eyes changed, and a good portion of them also knew why, to varying degrees. "At the start of the year, my left eye was taken and replaced... by this thing. She... M-Marion..."
Though the explanation started strong, Flash's words would slow to a halt. He'd close his eyes, steeling himself from getting too emotional. It was bad enough to hear about without added theatrics.
"A hag. She restrained me and switched them." This he said quickly, getting it over with. His stomach felt like a knot sat heavily at the bottom of it. "Today... just now, I learned that she's been watching. This whole time."
For as outlandish as the situation was, Flash would describe it in quite the succinct summary. His voice was restrained, light, and cautious. Still, it was nonsense to keep her in the dark about something so serious. The implications were dire, as it not only meant that Flash was cursed, but that Eun-ji herself had been under surveillance. This was another secret he would have the responsibility of caring for-- how many of his peers would be interested in knowing he had given a child murderer intimate details about their lives? To think that there were still more secrets left that he'd refuse to admit.

This was going to be interesting to say the least.
To the casual observer, they would see the following take place before them.
A charming, heavily bandaged purple haired boy and a rather attractive dark haired girl dancing together. Matching gold masks covered their faces and flower crowns sat on top of their heads. They really looked like a match made in heaven. Once he was out on the dance floor, Kim turned around to face Precious and extended his hand out to her. "My lady, may I have this dance?" He asked with a smirk on his lips. This was fun to act out at the event.
In fact, it reminded him of the Candy Girl and her knight.
That had been a rather fun time. With the exception of the appearance of the furry monster.
Kim let his eyes flicker over Precious for a few seconds. If he'd been straight, he would totally have seen where this could have gone between them. But in the present time, all Kim wanted to do was dance with his date. After all, it was expected for them to do so, right? Who wouldn't want to dance with an attractive girl at an actual ball? Even if he personally didn't find her attractive, that didn't mean he didn't think she was. Kim could appreciate her looks.
Precious was actually quite pretty and he was sure lots of people would fall for her during her lifetime. But right now, Kim wanted to be the one to dance with her.
