Hi, my name is Julian, and I’m a university student in London studying Cognitive Neuroscience. Between hospital work and lab placements, i'm quite busy, but I always make time for my writing, and I put real care into every roleplay thread and plan I take on. It’s important to me to connect with people who see storytelling as something with heart and intention behind it, and so it is wonderful to meet you all.

Outside of university, I enjoy football, electric guitar, music, reading, travelling whenever possible, painting, and hiking. I’ve been writing and roleplaying for about six or seven years now, drawn to stories that notice beauty everywhere, in flaws, in change, and in the small moments that make characters feel human.

If you’d ever like help with anything, want to develop a new idea together, or simply feel like talking about the latest football match haha, you’re very welcome to send an owl. I’m always happy to meet new people here, and I hope this can be a place where you feel comfortable and encouraged.

I do get busy at times, but I always return, and I always care about the writing and people I commit to.

Chapter 1: The Mirror.
. ݁₊ ݁ mirror, mirror, pale and bright, their eyes the same, yet hearts ignite, for love and loathing dance in twin reflections of the night. ⊹ . ݁˖ .
On the crystalline winter morning of the 7th of december 2011, where the frost still clung like spun glass to the ancient olive trees of tuscany, giovanni raffaele de’luca was born, at precisely 3:06 in the morning, a fragile breath amid the grandeur of centuries-old aristocratic legacy.

from his early days, the delicate magnificence of his mother’s beauty marked him unmistakably. he was clémence’s face in an almost exact picture, all her paleness and beauty, her sharpness, serene as alabaster kissed by moonlight. her image haunted giovanni’s reflection in the glass of every mirror, in the reflection of every body of water he looked into. It seemed the world could not help but notice the likeness, nor forget it. As he’d grow, these comparisons would brush against him more and more like shards of ice, each comparison a quiet torment. to be her reflection was to carry a cage made of light and of shadow, a reminder of the sharp love she bestowed, of the control and power her beauty came with. could he call what she showed him love? each word, each action seemed close to care but was edged with an unyielding hardness that stung beneath its exquisite surface, and giovanni thought often of how to be loved by her was like stepping into a frostbitten dawn; it was deceiving in its show of beauty, but truly cold, controlling and precise. she would take to favouring his youngest sister with a tenderness denied to him more and more as he grew older, more and more as he tried and failed to live up to her impossible standards, for clémence wielded her affection like a blade hidden beneath silk, teaching him through absence and cold command, and though he craved her approval, it was more a hunger that twisted bitter beneath his ribs, binding him in a silent war between yearning and resentment.

- gifted to him by his mother, it represents both love and hatred. her affection always arrives wrapped in something he cannot stand, she knowing he hates learning french and her choosing it anyway as her vessel for care. it describes them perfectly; her love is never gentle, but insistent, unsettling, and deliberate. he carries it around everywhere regardless, and it can be found in his bag here.

Giovanni De'Luca’s satchel is as much a reliquary as it is a schoolbag.
A worn, chestnut-brown leather satchel with brass buckles.
Of course, it carries the usual: textbooks, a spare quill or two, curled lengths of parchment. But what else does he carry, day after day, as he roams the ancient halls of Hogwarts? Let’s take a look.

Giovanni De'Luca secretly prefers the smooth elegance of a fountain pen over the scratchy, temperamental nature of quills. This habit, seemingly out of place among the old-world sensibilities of pure-blood society, has roots in a rare moment of contradiction within the De'Luca legacy.

Years ago, Giovanni’s father, Raffaele De'Luca, a man known for his staunch traditionalism and veiled disdain for Muggle-born influence, entered into an unlikely business venture with a Muggle-born wizard named Emory Blake. Blake, a refined, sharp-minded man with a penchant for blending magical and non-magical craftsmanship, gifted Raffaele a bespoke fountain pen at the conclusion of a successful negotiation.

It was a slim, obsidian-bodied pen with gold filigree and an inscription in Latin: “Verba volant, scripta manent.” (Spoken words fly away, written words remain.) Against expectation, Raffaele was charmed by it. The gesture, the craftsmanship, the symbolic permanence, it struck a chord. Since then, he has quietly amassed a collection of fine fountain pens, kept carefully in a locked glass case in his home office.

Though he rarely speaks of it, Raffaele and Blake have remained correspondents and occasional collaborators. Their friendship is one of the few secrets Giovanni’s father allows himself.

Giovanni, ever observant as a child, would watch his father writing letters not with a wand or a quill, but with one of those sleek, gleaming pens. There was something mesmerising about it, deliberate, weighty, old-fashioned in a different kind of way. When he turned ten, Raffaele gifted him a pen of his own a dark burgundy Visconti, with a nib that glides like silk and a faint smell of cedar ink.

Giovanni has used it ever since.

Held together with a faded leather strap and stained faintly with the smell of ink and cologne. Tucked between its pages: a dried violet, a yellowed letter from his sister,
a mini vellum map of Florence, a list titled “Books to read” featuring French and Italian philosophy and literature, his parents’ business card, an old Polaroid
of the view from the villa in Tuscany taped inside, and a small photo of him
with his older sister. There’s a rigid weekly schedule in black ink,
revised in red pencil, but he rarely sticks to it. It is, essentially, a fragmented mirror of him; tender, overstructured, and secretly chaotic.

He doesn’t know whether he should wear it around his neck, loop it on his wrist, or keep it buried at the bottom of his bag. Regardless, it’s with him everywhere he goes. His older sister Elena gave it to him just days before she was sent away to Beauxbatons, her smile soft and sad and fierce all at once. “Don’t forget, Giovanni,” she had whispered, pressing the pendant into his palm like a secret.

Engraved with the words “With love,” it is a quiet, shining promise sealed in silver: that he is loved, wholly and deliberately, by someone who knows the rhythm of his heart. And he loves her back, in the kind of way that aches.
