As the Slytherin lad had surmised, everything at Hogwarts was exactly like what he'd seen in movies; he was living in a fantasy bubble full of strange—yet, awesome—things, and he was not just seeing it, he was living the experience. After learning how to cast spells and make potions, it was time to start using a broom to fly. It was a school for witches and wizards, so such things were reasonably expected.

The lesson was going on for a while, and he wasn't taking notes because he had to retain everything by memory. It is a useful test of memory. It would often be difficult for him to remember what his parents had ordered him to do, and he dislikes being scolded, so, he learned to recall all of the information that is given to him—but only if it matters or it is important to remember.

Typical Atlas would stand idly observing other kids attempt to fly about. Even while the majority were successful, the rest never gave up. He was terrified of flying for some reason. Such things were simply not normal, or rather, they were not normalized, where he is from, since he comes from the muggle world. But everything changed when he arrived at Hogwarts. Things that were abnormal were made commonplace. For heaven's sake, he now wonders why he signed up to play Quidditch for his house while he is having a fear of riding the broom.

Despite all, Atlas Anderson is not all like that, he is quite adventurous and, he does not allow fear to limit him to small things, and with time, he will develop and get over the idea of flying on a broom. That is, after all, the purpose of these classes at the school. He just needed to have faith in the process itself.

"Trust the process Atlas, no matter what," he attempted to convince himself at that moment.

Hogwarts, with its ancient stones and ivy-clad turrets, stood bathed in the golden light of midday. The expansive pitch, bordered by grandstands, lay before Giovanni, the sun bathing the grass in warm sunlight, eliciting glitters and sparkles of light from the fine blades. The young boy approached the pitch with barely contained excitement; this was his first lesson after all. Cradling a sleek school broom, he struggled to surpass the way his eyes sparkled with eagerness. The prospect of flight, of dancing through Hogwarts' enchanted skies, softened his usual haughty demeanor into genuine enthusiasm. The allure of the broom promised a journey beyond textbooks, a soaring experience through the bewitching skies of Hogwarts, where magic was felt in the thrill of the unknown.

The first half of the lesson seemed to go on agonisingly slow. Giovanni was becoming impatient, practically itching to snatch up his broom and fly away into the distance. He contented himself with scribbling down notes in pristine, neat handwriting, stopping now and then to glance at his broom and then towards the pale blue sky above. Eventually, the class was instructed to put their quills down, and Giovanni nearly twisted his ankle in his haste to step back towards his broom (he'd have to learn to control this excitement, but hey, he only was an 11 year old wizard) They were instructed on how to mount their brooms correctly, and the young Ravenclaw swept his eyes curiously among his fellow first years, eyeing them shamelessly and judging their technique, picking out whom he thought may be from a muggle background and who came from a wizarding heritage like himself. Amid the cacophony of laughter and cheers, his keen gaze detected a lone Slytherin boy. The boy's eyes, a cocktail of nerves and longing, traced the aerial acrobatics of his peers. Giovanni, his usual veneer of indifference momentarily softened by a spark of curiosity, started towards him.

"First time on a broom, I presume?" He stated, more as an observation than a question, his tone laced with a cold detachment.

This was more than simply a disaster—this was a broomastrophe. The Slytherin boy was a little nervous about mounting a broom. Imagine the situation with other players on the Quidditch field; this might be worse than he thinks. But, heck no! It takes guts to take a chance on something new, and Atlas might have as well joined the duel team if he wasn't taking chances, but he chose Quidditch instead.

"So what do I do?," he asked himself, glancing at the ground-laying flying broom and trying to give it an order by saying, "Up!" but there was no success as the broom did not budge. Perhaps he was simply too gentle for this. He gave a little humph to indicate that he was starting to become tired of this. Suddenly, someone asked if this was his first encounter. He turned to face the person who had inquired; their tone was not gentle—It sounded cold—and Atlas hoped that they were not some typical bully. He responded with, "Uh, yeah!" while trying not to embarrass himself .

Normally, he would have asked for help in this kind of situation, but the other boy's tone set Atlas off because it didn't sound like a person that would want to help the Slytherin boy. Maybe he would just laugh at him behind his backs for being such beginners at this. After this session, it's honestly best to ask the quidditch captain of his house for help, as this will not only be a broomastrophe but also a future Quidditchastrophe.

The disastrous boy turned to face him, and to Giovanni's moderate surprise, the youth's countenance proved to be, well, not as underwhelming as his rather unpolished broom-handling skills. His features displayed a peculiar amalgamation of gentleness and sharpness, but it was those eyes – a profound and captivating azure – that held Giovanni's attention for an extra moment. A fleeting thought crossed his mind, questioning whether his own greeny-blue eyes might appear somewhat mundane in comparison. Self-assured in his youthful handsomeness, a sentiment consistently affirmed by the elderly matrons at his parents' mundane dinner gatherings, Giovanni found himself silently attributing such favor to the whims of fate and the vagaries of genetics.

Startled by the unintended length of his observation, Giovanni took an almost imperceptible step back, suppressing a burgeoning flush that sought refuge on his neck. Why, he mused internally, did the specter of embarrassment choose this particular moment to make an appearance?

With an eye roll directed at the boy beside him, Giovanni cleared his throat and shifted gears. "First things first dimwit, grasp your broom like so". Leaning in, he took a hands-on approach, adjusting the lad's grip and leg positioning. Pulling back with an expression of unaffected composure, Giovanni awaited the anticipated response, fingers maintaining a firm hold on his own broom. The notion that parents should really introduce their children to broomsticks early on to avoid such awkward scenarios flitted across his mind as he surveyed the struggling beginners, likely hailing from Muggle backgrounds. Frowning, he leant closer to the boy next to him. “What is your blood status?” He asked directly.

Atlas was such a dimwitted person right now, then why was getting up and attempting to ride a broom such a hard chore? Perhaps this was just one of the worst days ever—after all, the instructions ought to be as simple as ABC, and Atlas wasn't that stupid to not follow them correctly but he wasn't succeeding.

Giovanni tried to teach Atlas the correct way to mount a broom. Talk about being rude when instructing someone—Atlas found the other boy's actions a little annoying. “Huh?, rude!? Who do you think you are, you are such a mea...? the boy said and paused, being unable to complete the last word. Giovanni leaned closer to Atlas and the Slytherin boy made eye contact with the young Ravenclaw boy, and as soon as he did, a jolt shot through his spine. Even at such a young age, the Slytherin child was perplexed about what he was feeling and did not know what it was.

Instantly, Atlas became uncomfortable with the current circumstances—yet not in a bad way—and could not fathom or understand what was going on. It was the broom situation at first, and now it's this foreign thing.

The boy was brought up in the muggle community which probably explains his actions and the continuous difficulty he has with mounting and riding a broom like a normal wizard or witch.

When Giovanni inquired about the boy's blood status, Atlas met his sight directly and did not avert his eyes. “Half-blood,” he replied.

As he made eye contact with the other boy, he cleared his throat a little. Who does he think he is?” He thought to himself, "Leaning towards me like that!" He continued while stuck half-deep in thought. Still, Atlas’ look was one of simple confusion, as annoyed as he was, his facial expression did not show any sign of defiance or annoyance. With a rather nervous tone, he questioned, “Wh- what about you?”
