Ilvermorny NPC

This is a thread that is used to submit applications and updates for iNPCs in Ilvermorny.
Restrictions to Creating an iNPC:You can find an up-to-date roster for this school here. If you notice anything that is inaccurate, reach out to the Headmaster of this school (Arkady Piecyk).
- Ilvermorny has very few half-bloods, but they have many purebloods, wizard borns and muggle borns.
- Ilvermorny students must reside in one of the following countries:
• Antigua and Barbuda
• Bahamas
• Barbados
• Canada
• Cuba
• Dominica
• Dominican Republic
• Grenada
• Haiti
• Jamaica
• Mexico
• Saint Kitts and Nevis
• Saint Lucia
• Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
• Trinidad and Tobago
• United States of America
Eligibility requirements:
• You must have had your previous student and iNPC graduate.
• Your second student character must be Indexed.
• You must wait 3 months after your second character has been registered.
Proof requirement:
• You must provide a link to your approved second student character application from this thread. This will serve as a proof of having an approved second student character.
Note: The reduced wait time for a second iNPC character only applies to your first approved second student character. If you deactivate your second student character before they graduate, you will be required to wait 6 months for an iNPC associated with the new student character.
Registration for iNPCs:
Name: Nothing from the sacred 28. No plagiarizing names from other fandoms.
PC Name:
Year: Must be the same year or younger than your PC.
Link to your Character Page: The link to your iNPCs ency. If you haven't created one yet, please do so before registering.
Your iNPC ency follows the same rules as your PC ency.
Status: Muggleborn, Halfblood, Wizardborn, Pureblood
Residence: This should be the place your character currently lives.
Nationality: This should be the nation which your character belongs to.
History: We are looking for at least 200 words describing their history. This is their life, their family. Their upbringing. This is separate from their personality and their appearance. This is not their ambitions or aspirations, this is the story of their life and the story of their life being reduced to a mere few hundred words should not be able to give their life justice. We want a well-thought out character. Please remember, they do not have awesome special powers that nobody else has. Also, please remember that your background needs to make sense, we will not accept purebloods that were raised as muggles without a very good reason and a detailed explanation on how this happened and why this happened. Idle interest, the vague statement of normalcy or protection will not cut it.
First Magic: We do need a few sentences on their first magic as well. Remember, this will be your first instance of underaged, unintentional, wandless magic before you start school.
Is your character a Quidditch player/Broom racer/Duelist? This applies if you are any of the schools. Players with an already created NPC from can state that their iNPC is a quidditch player/Broom racer/Duelist. Your sport choice (broom racing, quidditch, dueling) for your NPC can be the same as your PC. This is a binary YES/NO. Please remember that you can only be in one sport as an iNPC.
Stats: They should add up to what you can have for your year if you were human or having Special Race/Talent. So if you create a Special Race/Talent iNPC, you should have 5 less stats in total than if you were human. Stat points from sports wins are NOT shared across accounts unless they were earned before 1 July 2025.
Special Race/Ability: To be accepted for a special ability such as Parselmouth or Seer or a special race (such as a Dhampir or part Goblin) you would need to apply for this on initial character creation. You need 500 w/c application for special race/ability.
If special race/ability, how did they join the school? If they are a first year from Sept 2024, they would be accepted normally. If they are not a first year, please include 50 words on how they transferred into the school or hid their abilities.

Ilvermorny NPC
Name: Novus Esnos
Age: 14
School Year: 4
House: Horned Serpent
Race: Human
Blood Status: Half-Blood
Appearance: Novus Esnos is an average-sized boy, both in weight and height. With jet black, straight hair, pale white skin, and dark brown eyes, he doesn't really stick out from a crowd.

Personality: Usually calm, quiet, and reserved, Novus prefers spending his time inside- either to read, draw, or just rest. Though he doesn't have much of an issue with his social life, Novus doesn't go out of his way to meet new people or make more friends. It is worth noting that ever since his first two visits to Hogwarts, the boy has found himself slightly more motivated to spend time with others, though this isn't something that he has noticed himself. It is possible that just seeing what Hogwarts was like (a place where half-bloods were common and accepted) gave him some hope that he'd be able to be open about his lineage at some point without any worries.
History: As one of the relatively few half-bloods in the United States, Novus's muggle history was kept as something of a secret from the people he knew. His father, a pure-blooded wizard who had raised him alone after a messy divorce, was a kind man. Unfortunately, the stress of having a son who was not accepted by the wizarding world to such a degree took its toll on him, and with even his own family having cut ties with him, there were days when the man wouldn't leave his room or communicate with his only boy. Nonetheless, their relationship was good for the most part, and Novus knew that going to Illvermony would do nothing but make life easier for his father. That was motivation enough to endure the secrecy that he felt forced to keep.
During his first three years at Illvermony, Novus tended to stay to himself. He didn't have too much trouble finding friends and had even felt close enough to two of them to reveal his heritage. Though they were both shocked (and somewhat confused) they didn't end up caring all that much. He was a good person, and they appreciated him for that. Of course, they both swore not to tell anyone, and to the best of his knowledge, they had kept the promise.
The boy was decent enough at most of his subjects, but he wasn't exceptional at any particular form of magic. This may be due to a simple lack of motivation, as while he does find the wizarding world to be incredible in its own way, he also holds a certain distaste for it and the discomfort that it had forced him to endure. Novus often dreams about transferring to a school like Hogwarts, though he's well aware that the odds of something like that happening are slim. Outside of school, his contact with both the muggle and the wizarding world is rather slim. He tends to spend holidays and breaks at home with his father (or when that's not possible, alone), only occasionally communicating with friends from Hogwarts. The idea of contacting his mother and her family is a non-starter, both because he is encouraged not to do so by the wizards who know about them and because of his own anger at her leaving. Due to his father's family having cut contact, he also never gets to meet the wizarding side of his lineage. For the most part, it's just him and his dad in their own little bubble. Despite this, Novus isn't miserable. He has his bad days, sure, but he gets by. The boy has come to accept life as it was, and as long as he wasn't bothered, he didn't feel too bad about any of it. At least not consciously.

Information that may be relevant to Novus. Being a half-blood is uncommon due to previous litigation (refer to my earlier post) that is possibly beyond Novus' understanding. The magical world and the muggle world are very much separated our of not only fear but also tradition. Despite his heritage, having a muggle ancestry so recent as a parent, his contact with the muggle world would be very much limited. Wizard relatives would likely discourage him from seeing his muggle family, limiting visitation or insisting on their presence during limited visits. This is what makes Hogwarts so different, the amount of students born as first generation wizards or that came from mixed households has created a less homogeneous culture.

Ilvermorny NPC

Name: Arslan Frost
Age: 15
School Year: 4th
House: Thunderbird
Race: Human
Blood Status: Wizard-born
Appearance: Spared from inheriting most of his father’s features, Arslan sports a full head of poofy, deep brown curls that frame his face in a barely containable mess. His skin is of a warm, tan color, only a few shades lighter than his mother’s and his eyes are a warm, cinnamon brown. He isn’t very tall for his age, only 5 foot 2 inches. His constant running around in the woods and exploring gave him a lean physique that he is careful to retain.
Personality: Arslan is a quiet, kind individual that prefers the solitude of the woods by his house instead of loud gaggles of people. He cherishes the company nature provides, although will occasionally be found trying to appease his mother by meeting up with a few friends and exploring nearby locations. While he is interested in history and old knowledge, he is not a friend of libraries and books, his attention constantly flitting from one thing to the next. When at school, he and his friends can often be found outside on school grounds where Arslan will laze around in the sun like a content cat and listen to one of his friends read their school books to the rest of the group.
Attire: When not in school, Arslan will often favour comfortable clothing. Though their colors will often consist of earthy tones, they will almost always be partially covered by the large, tacky, magenta shawl that Arslan inherited from his great-grandmother. During warm, dry days, Arslan will often forego footwear entirely, preferring to walk on bare feet. He is very partial to gold jewelry but rarely actually can be bothered to wear any.
His best subjects are History, Care of Magical Creatures and Charms. While he is very interested in Astronomy as well, he unfortunately falls asleep during these late hours quite regularly.
History: Born to a family of natural busibodies, Arslan was often left in the care of the family’s house elf where he would often attempt to trick the poor creature to escape into the nearby woods to adventure around. It was less of an attempt to break free from his father’s well-meaning but rather strict set of rules but rather to try and find some adventure. Who knew, maybe there was buried treasure or a long forgotten elven civilisation to be found!
This sense of wonder and his thirst for adventure never dimmed in the slightest as Arslan grew older and began his education at Ilvernmory. Instead, he found like-minded individuals in the house of Thunderbird. Three of them, he’d call good friends by the end of his first year and together, the quartet (so lovingly dubbed the ‘Quartet of Chaos by some of their teachers) would try their best to not only find adventure but also drive all of their parents to near-insanity in the progress.
Arslan is fluent in both English and German, the latter being due to the fact that his father’s family originally came from Germany fled during Grindelwald’s reign of terror. To confuse people and keep them from taking his notes, Arslan usually writes his notes in a convoluted mess of both German and English. It has, however, happened that he handed in homework written in a similar matter, resulting in him either having to do extra work and redo them or receiving a failing grade.

A wizard-born, with wizarding blood running through his veins for at least a generation; there would be a difference between German wizards and American wizards, a difference that Arslan would likely only hear about. While there is a separation of wizards and muggles also in the UK, it is an elective rather than an enforced choice. In America, it was a matter of legality (as well as culture as most people are law-abiding). It might be a point of fascination that mixed-heritage wizards and first generation wizards are in more common attendance at Hogwarts.
You will be getting an owl in the coming days with a secret among the wizard borns and purebloods.

Ilvermorny NPC
Name: Cyrus Darsel
Age: 13
Schooling Year: Second
House: Thunderbird
Race: Human
Blood Status: Muggleborn
Appearance: Cyrus has blonde hair that is about average length for a boy and is fairly straight. His ocean-blue eyes are usually full of mischief. He is 5'2" and weighs about 115lbs (50kg). Cy's skin tone is pale, though he tans in the summer, and he has a few freckles across his cheeks. Cy usually wears button-down shirts and jeans when he's out of school.
Personality: Cyrus is timid and shy. He loves arithmancy and will have people write down math problems so he can solve them for recreation. Cy may be shy, but he shows his courage whenever he is given a chance to prove himself, be it in very small bits. Cyrus, being a muggle-born, will play on electronic devices at times and is very tech-friendly. He was raised by his aunt and uncle who live in New York because his Muggle parents are very busy people who don't have time for him. His aunt, who is related to him through marriage and not by blood, is a wizard-born witch who moved from Ireland to America in the 1990s, during the last Wizarding War.
History: Cyrus was born on 1 September 2006, making today his 13th birthday. He was born to two Muggle billionaires who travelled abroad for their work. He was either left at home or with his aunt and uncle, who lived in Manhattan. By the time Cyrus was three years old, his parents left him in the care of his aunt and uncle for months at a time before transferring legal guardianship over. Cy still sees his parents, but it is more as if they are family friends than his biological family. Cyrus's aunt is a witch, and when he first showed signs of magic - by healing a finger which he cut while chopping carrots - she told him about the Wizarding World. Cyrus was pleased to know that he could use magic, but he didn't know how. He also did not learn much about Illvermorny until he received his acceptance letter because his aunt was from Ireland and therefore went to Hogwarts instead.
Cyrus was Sorted into Thunderbird due to his love of adventure and his mannerisms. He was always shy, but once one got to know the boy, he was a real troublemaker. The kid would usually manage to get out of trouble, be it by begging or just not getting caught. Based on what his aunt told him about Hogwarts, he was extremely glad he didn't go there because he has heard many bad things about it such as the Battle of Hogwarts. His aunt tells him that it will be fine, but Cy can't be sure.
Cyrus was born in America, travelled with his parents to live in London for a few years, and then he went back to America where he would stay with his aunt and uncle. Cyrus has always been looking forward to go to Illvermorny, and now that he is in his Second Year he believes that things cannot get any better. He can only wait and see. During his First Year, he made himself familiar with watching duelling, so he knows strategy but is too shy to get involved himself. Cyrus is ready to make new friends and break out of his shell.

Being muggle-born he would have a "unique" at least in his school setting perception of muggles. The billionaire status of his parents would suggest that his idea of a muggle life-style is not entirely accurate as it would be from the context of what a billionaire child sees as "normal" which might be an interesting thing for your student to discuss -- how interesting and fine life is for the average muggle since that would have been the limited muggle view that he had seen. Since he is now a "wizard" and culturally there is a separation (even since the law has been repealed), in addition to his parent's indifference consider the fact that his aunt (who is not blood-related to your parents) would likely also discourage visiting or "for his own safety" insist on being there as well as an "involved caregiver."

ReducioCyrus was the type of boy who was full of chaos; the type of boy who would answer the "if someone jumped off a cliff, would you?" as "absolutely". Cy would do anything to prove himself, and he began running around Manhattan at the young age of seven. His parents didn't care, and he feared nothing. The world didn't scare him, so he did as he pleased.
By the time his aunt and uncle became prominent figures in his life, Cyrus was used to doing things by himself. He made breakfast without fear of burning himself on the pan, although he needn't make lunch or dinner - his parents always ordered things for him. While the boy might have lived a moderately sheltered life - what child of businesspeople didn't? - he was lonely, and there was always a bundle of energy manifesting inside the child's heart, waiting to be set loose.
After ending school one day Cy came across a group of kids. They weren't usual schoolboys; he could see that from a single glance. Their beat-up leather jackets stood out in stark contrast to his school blazer, and the fact that some of them didn't wear shoes let Cyrus know he'd ventured into the "wrong area of town". They surrounded a much smaller boy, one that wasn't in Cyrus' year; no, he was quite a bit younger. This kid was maybe nine, if that.
Cy wasn't deterred; he wanted that child out of the situation. "Hey, idiots!" yelled the blond, only glancing down to make sure his duck-print shoelaces were tied. A brazen grin decorated his expression as he charged forward, imagining he was a knight in medieval times and that the other boy was a lass, or lad now that he thought about it, in distress. "Make way for the king!" he shouted, his words echoing around the alley.
Now, any other child would have noticed how stupid the plan was. With Cyrus, however, there really was no plan. He did things on impulse, having no fear of the consequences that might arise from his actions. Putting one foot in front of the other, he charged at the other kids, shoving one of them as hard as he could.
He wasn't quite strong enough to knock the kid over, but he got the group's attention away from the young'un and onto himself. "Get out of the way!" he whisper-yelled to the smaller boy, and he was pleased to see the other kid running out of the corner of his eye as he felt a blow land on his arm.
Cy hadn't been strong enough to fight off the kids, but it had been your average schoolboy fight - everyone got hurt, to some extent. When Cyrus returned home, a triumphant grin on his face, his aunt shot him a questioning glance as he flopped down on the couch, exhausted, and shouted "No Regrets!"
Because really, he had no regrets. The feel of adrenaline in his veins had been amazing, and he would do it again. Cy wasn't a wimp. In fact, one might call him fearless.

Ilvermorny NPC
Name: Alfredo Britto

Age: 12
School Year: 2nd year
House: Wampus
Race: Human
Blood Status: Muggle-born
Patronus: N/A
Parents: Lucia Bitto(mother), Adelaide Bitto (Father)
Grandparents (Father’s side): (Grandfather) Simáo Bitto (Grandmother) Gláucia Bitto
Appearance:
Blond flat hair with sliver like eyes but it’s far bluer. He loves to wear scarfs since for one Christmas his closest friend Arthur Kirkstone gave it as a present which made him love scarfs ever since. His skin is a far deeper shade than pale since his parents were both born in Portugal as he was as well. He seems to take care of his skin as it is soft but his hands are rough due to his strange interest in gardening.
Interests:
Gardening, plants just seem so fascinating to watch and help out with the affection of a human. Also, a cat would be helpful to chase away the evil critter that destroy plants (slugs).
Ways in which to make Arthur Kirkstone less secretive- a mission he took to turn now into a confused interest since there was no background to how he became this way.
Personality:
A very proud, loud young man and the courage to tackle the more stubborn and colder student to be friends with. His proudness comes from the fact he had only noticed his accidental magic spurts after his parents took him to live in America and just after his Best friend Arthur showed him some with a duplication of sweets. He is loud and with that obnoxious as he wants to live life to the fullest, which while that makes him admirable it also him very well a bit unaware that others may not be that way. His courage he would tell you comes from all the strength it took to help others but truly his mother’s storytelling had given him the idea of what it must take to be a good true person.
History:
Born in 2007, to a ‘muggle born’ family in the sweet city of Porto. It is Portugal's second-largest city and the heart of Portugal’s industrial north. It is also where a lot of wizards and witches go to live if they feel like staying in Britain was too much for their liking. His parents loved him for his sweet attitude although he was often at cause of trouble like where he accidentally shattered a vase, he had promised he had not touched it, had to go with no sweets for the week. He went to school as a normal muggle but never really noticed anything odd about himself, well perhaps his rather peculiar interest in cats. He had funny little dreams where he would turn into a cat and stroll around having the time of his life. Of course, he never told anyone, because how embarrassing would that be!
When he was seven however, his parents came by surprise telling him that they would be moving to London as his father found himself with a new job over the seas which would be very successful if he took the offer. It was a difficult move for the whole family, it was almost too hard as they would be leaving a place that meant so much to them but they were all courageous taking a leap of faith. They found a quaint house that was easy for his father to get to work by train and his mother turned it into something out of a fairy-tale. However, the move did knock Alfredo a little too much and he started to have constant panics that he would never be able to have decent enough English even though his father spoke it fluently. How would he find friends in the primary school he had newly joined?
The first day he had joined, he was welcomed really well but no one seemed to really want to be his friend since they had other friendship groups. It was until a strange young boy who sat alone, away from the others caught his attention one lunchtime. So, he went up and tried to get to know him, which was not a success. However, that was the start of his strong friendship with this boy, Arthur Kirkstone. He was strange to Alfredo at first, scared to share his secrets or wanting to hear his own. It took time, but he began to trust him more until they were close enough for Arthur to admit he was the first best friend he probably will ever have. He did laugh saying that with his charming attitude he’d be able to get all the friends he would. Shaking his head, he had smiled and confirmed he was just glad he had got to know him.
They became a duo, a strong bond that somehow continued to grow. He eventually found out about Arthur being a wizard when he was complaining about not having enough sweets but handing one to Arthur it multiplied into two. He found the whole idea hilarious, and teased Arthur about having to find a familiar and speak in a very husky tone. Although he teased him, he was sad that it meant later he would have to leave him to go to a magical school. It made him feel like a string had just been broken between the two of them. If there was anyone that he would trust, Arthur would be at the top of the list and that meant suddenly a lot to him. Later that day he had went home and sat down sulky during dinner. What came next was what would change his attitude to life forever.
His father had announced that they would be moving to America, as his job was offering a transfer for him. This made Alfredo feel confused at first but suddenly he grew angry and the dinner table suddenly started to wobble before collapsing like jelly. His parents were completely shocked and started to yell at him asking if he had done this. He was far too shock, yelling a cry he ‘was going to ruin his friendship’ and ran to his room with fear pulsing his heart. He eventually calmed down, was there even a wizarding school in America? He had so many questions, and no one to tell him the answer. Until a hour later, a knock at his door his mother came in, she gave him a little happy smile. She told him that his Grandmother on his father’s side Gláucia Bitto was a witch that went to a school in America called Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. After she had told him he started to cough out crying that his friend who was also magical. She tried to comfort him saying he could always owl him. He somehow didn’t know if he had the courage to do so, so the day he left Primary he stopped talking to Arthur. Knowing fully well that he would become worse when he figured out why he didn’t contact him for a year.
When he had moved to America, it was the most frightening experience he could admit, he had to face the fact that he was so far from the places he called home he wouldn’t bare too think of them anymore. His father helps him calm by being that amazing to getting him a kitten he decided to call Bearclaws since it had the colour of an American bear, it remined him of Arthur whose favourite animal was a bear. A year later he got accepted to Ilvermorny and found himself trying to understand the world of the wizarding one by going down to a place similar to Arthur’s Diagon Ally and getting a lot of books. He was almost to scared to go and look about but he had to once he got accepted in need of magical equipment.

I did have to strike through a small tidbit because it gave your player character the ability to duplicate sweets because that is not a skill that your player character would have had.
I have noticed pretty much an obsession with your character (Arthur) in this one. While there is nothing stopping you from having an NPC that is interested in your character (for you to have development often there is some crossing over) make sure that you get the most out of the NPC. Use the NPC to further your character's story but also to interface with more players so you the writer can have a more diverse and interesting experience.
Because your character really had a primarily muggle experience until shortly before going to school at Ilvermorny, you would not be as aware of the separation laws, their subsequent repeals, etc. But of note would be the fact that you have not been home much since coming to Ilvermorny. It is not that anyone tells you that you cannot go home, but when it is time to go on break there are some awesome opportunities that your NPC would be crazy to pass up. Extra credit, sleep overs, summer camps, trips to neat magical places muggle families know little about. All of this "in an attempt to further educate those with muggle upbringings" about the wizard world. This fact being an interesting point of discussion in letters between your student and the Hogwarts student you are paired with.
As a preemptive answer to the presumed question: can I owl my own student? Yes, but the intention is to also attempt to communicate and converse with other players so try to make time for whoever you get paired up with as well so both of you can have a full experience.
A.Kirkstone
Ilvermorny NPC

Appearance: Just like his last name, Timothy had not one ounce of colour in him. As a descendant of bold Irish people that had looked for happiness in America and who eventually found it on Hawaii, he had failed in gaining any tan whatsoever. Wearing old Flip-Flops he looks even more like a tourist that has never seen the sun, which couldn't be farther from the truth. Timothy spends all his free time outside either swimming in the ocean or wandering through the streets.Name: Timothy Brian Grey
Age: 15
School Year: 4th
House: Thunderbird
Race: Human
Blood Status: Wizardborn
He keeps his dark hair long, just because he loves to be dramatic and rise out of the water, flipping his hair around which usually results in him being tangled up in the mess and looking like the grudge ghost. He likes to think he impresses some of the girls on the beach.
Personality: Overall he is a gregarious person, who always has a ready answer. Since a young age, he tried to harvest as much knowledge as possible by listening to the adults around him. No matter if tourists, his parents or some of the elders living near him. Old teachings were sacred on the island, and it was said that by observing one learns, by listening one commits to memory and by practice one master a skill. Timothy lived after these teachings. He had observed tourists to be gracious and easy to be manipulated, which had sparked a mischievous side in him. Occasionally he would show the foreigners around, telling them about the island, while smiling a welcoming grin, only to lead them to the most expensive places. The locals thanked him with some fresh fruits and by giving him his share of the money. He had mastered the skill of sweet-talking at a young age.
His biggest weakness is the cold. Although he did not look like an islander, he truly was dependant on warmth. It had been a temperature shock when he had first arrived in Ilvernmorny. He usually is the only one running around on campus during summer and wearing layers and layers of clothes.
Timothy loves and adores cats in all sizes and forms. He has the habit of petting every cat he meets, just to get scratched by most of them.
History:
Timothy was born in the last summer days of 2003, 8th September. His parents Roan and Abby, a young couple of newlyweds, were happy to be gifted with a child. His father, a large man with broad shoulders, was proud to have a son. Roan would carry him around all day, wandering with him through the forest up to the mountain to show him the beautiful island he was blessed to live on. Roan was a wizard and descendant of the Maoli. Unfortunately, the Irish blood was too strong in Timothy's veins, making his dark hair the only trait he had inherited from his father's people.
When Timothy was ten, his mother got pregnant again and his little sister Naida got born. He immediately fell in love with her. He never had shown any signs of magic and his parents had believed him to be not gifted. But on the day his sister and mother were released from the hospital, he let docents of shells, he had collected earlier, dance over his laughing sister. He later would make these shells into a bracelet for her.
Once he arrived in Ilvernornmy he quickly found friends. One of them reminds him of a cat, which probably is the reason he likes him so much.
His sorting had been quick, Thunderbird is just perfect for him.
He absolutely can't stand the smell of coconuts. When he was little he often would get coconuts to eat or their milk to drink, but he had eaten and drunk so much, that he had developed a distaste for it. The smell is enough to almost make him puke.

Appearance:Personality:Wild brown hair sits atop Delia's head, usually in a ponytail or bun of some sort. She is rarely seen without a self-assured smirk playing on her lips, often in response to something particularly amusing happening in her mind. Her eyes are a cold green.History:Delia is the kind of person everyone either flocks to, or avoids like the plague. Practically oozing confidence, she dives into everything headfirst without giving much thought to what lies ahead, more from a lack of patience than intelligence. She'd much rather focus on the details rather than the big picture and lives heavily in the moment. Remembering past events (traumatic ones at least) sometimes causes her to spiral into a ball of condensed worry. She's quick to make friends and quicker to lose them, instead preferring to move from group to group, making connections along the way. Honest to a fault, she often comes across as insensitive. Any effort to box her in or keep her contained are quickly shut down.Delia was brought into the world on September 13th, 2006. She had a happy childhood, full of laughter (mostly at her brother Nicolas' expense). Her father, Hugo Finch is a tall, imposing man with about as much kindness as a piece of concrete. Her mother, Vivianne, is much the same. Both preferred a more "hands-off" approach to parenting their children, leaving Delia and Nicolas to their own devices more often than not. She spent most of her time exploring the wilderness behind their family home. Always the wild child, Delia grew up oblivious to her parents' disapproval. It didn't matter to her what anyone thought, and her parents were no different.
When she could, she made friends with the muggle children who lived around. Most notable was Vi, Delia's oldest friend. She spent many a day trying to get the other girl out of her house and into the woods with her.
At the age of 11, Vi moved away from their neighborhood and Delia's life became a duller. She hadn't realized before then how much the other girl had meant to her. She vowed since then not to let anyone come as close, choosing to lash out when someone got to that point.

Being wizard-born, you will have a fair amount of contrast to offer the Hogwarts students in terms of what it is like to be a wizard and how muggle life is viewed. Due to the traditional separation of wizards and muggles, unions between such being rare and friends being even rarer your character would be very well versed in the wizard word, not as much in the muggle world and have been raised and educated with a mild fear of muggles. Rapports Law a reflection of the risks wizards face if revealed to muggles that is, something that would have been pounded into this character's head from a young age.
One of the few wizard borns involved in all of this, there is something unusual and important afoot. [You will get an owl regarding this in a few days]

Ilvermorny NPC
Name: Donovan Salinger
Age: 14
School Year: 3rd
House: Wampus
Race: Human
Blood Status: Wizardborn

Appearance
As if he needed to be more predictable, Donovan has a very simple look to him;
blonde hair, blue eyes, rosy cheeks, and a tight-lipped smile. His jangly appearance is often due to his skinny arms and legs, and his face that never has a serious expression on it. Though he considers himself painfully average, and sometimes even ugly, he got lucky with the developing bone structure in his face. That being said, he hasn't quite figured his appearance out yet and continues to shuffle around with a goofy, dumb look on his face to try and avoid having to smile for a camera.
Personality
A common complaint amongst adults when speaking about Don is the simple fact that he has an answer for everything, and in just a few seconds. He'd heard it all, how he should be a lawyer, if he spoke to his mother with that mouth-- whatever it was, he knew what to hear, and he had an rebuttal to that statement in its own.
His biggest fault is that he thinks he knows everything. Not quite when it comes to science, or math, but when it comes to how people think. Once he has his opinion of you, it will likely stay that way for a long time unless you give him a reason to think otherwise. He's stubborn, but his heart is the biggest. He's passionate, emotional, and often succumbs to his bad habit of his feelings clouding the way he sees things logically.
He can be a joy to be around, as he's goofy and expressive, but he loses his energy quickly and will become grumpy if pushed too far into a social situation. He could write letters for decades, draw pictures and comics, or make short films as a back and forth, but communication isn't necessarily his strong suit.
History
You're not usually destined for greatness when both of your parents decide they aren't ready for a kid about a week after they've had you, but some of us are lucky.
Both Maeve and Curtis Salinger decided that baby Donovan was too much for them, and oh-so gracefully handed him over to Curtis' older brother once they found out he'd pined over Don the second he met him. There was no need for name-changing, just some legal documents, and the baby was all Sam's.
Both Sam and Donovan did everything together, no matter what. Whether Don was laying by Sam's desk and drawing while Sam did work, or Sam taking a stroll around town, it was done as a duo. Don likes to remember these things whenever life gets heavy, he knows he had a good childhood and holds on to it with all he's got-- it wasn't always domestic like he'd often fantasize about, but it was rich in love, care, and a more genuine father-son relationship than his biological father could ever offer him.
Sam would often encourage Don to do what he loved most, no matter how many times he did it. The ones that stuck? Politics, social justice, drawing, film-making, and writing. Don went through many phases of interests, but Sam stuck by his side and funded the ones he noticed made his nephew the happiest. It was a good distraction from the fact that his parents thought lowly of their son, Don was pretty good at oppressing his dark thoughts until he was able to take them out on a piece of paper or film.
Don doesn't have trouble making friends, per se, he just has trouble connecting with other people. He has a small group of people he spends time with at Ilvernornmy, and while they don't quite see him for the person he'd like them to, he figures that it'll have to do, for now. He likes to write to people more, anyway.

Being a wizard-born he would obviously be surrounded by magical people primarily. The political climate in America is a separation of these groups, while not upheld by law it has been deeply ingrained into the culture of wizard families and there is little mixing due to a general sense of fear expressed by wizards of muggles. One could go as so far as to say that some wizards "find muggles to be very dangerous because they fear what they both do not understand what they do not have." A lesson that may have been passed onto you, although it is up to you if you share in those fears of course.
One of the few wizardborns participating in the event, one would think that the muggleborns and half-bloods were the "special ones" but no, it was Donovan. [An owl will be incoming.]
What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.
Ilvermorny NPC
Appearance:Name: Nadea Fayid
Age: 15
School Year: 5th
House: Horned Serpent
Race: Human
Blood Status: Muggle-bornPersonality:Nadea is a five foot two high girl, featuring a fashionable appearance, with dark hair and lightly tanned skin. She wears a pair of wide, circular glasses and has a tendency to sport a cap over her headscarf. She is always seen in public wearing a scarf and tends to dress to the nines even in the girls dormitory.History:Nadea is outgoing and very expressive. She's easy to talk to and very vocal in the school. She easily talks to the professors in class as though friends and is rarely shy. She is a closet nerd however, tending to read all sorts of factual literature in her spare time. However, her wits are well known in the school, Nadea is a high grading student and professors seem to love her. There are few classes Nadea does less than superb in. She's a true Horned Serpent.
Nadea is a brute when it comes to feelings, getting aggravated before upset. She acts on her heart not her head and tends to be very careful of others feelings. She's extremely self aware and overall an extremely down to earth young lady. Nadea tends to be spontaneous in her actions, capable of taking the moment at hand and feeling comfortable in any turn of events. She's a bit messy in her organisation but she always seems to be dressed as though she plans days in advance.
Overall, Nadea is an eccentric, bubbly character that bursts with magical ability and leadership abilities. Due to this, she is quite popular in Ilvermorny, especially among the girls.Nadea was born on the 7th of June, 2004 with many siblings and parents who had just recently moved to the US. She grew up in California, only experiencing the muggle life until Ilvermorny.
She was the only one to possess magical ability within her closer family although her aunt, and as a result her aunts children, all had been gifted wizard powers too. Due to this, Nadea spends a lot of her time with her aunt over the summers, tending to feel more comfortable there. Her relationship with her brothers and sister were barricaded by the weight of being special. Which lead to Nadea feeling a bit like an outcast in her own family.
Nadea is an extremely talented student. She is extremely efficient with the wand and overall is seen as a prodigy student by many. With this, Nadea has many friends within the school. She tends to be disconnected though in a way that results in her being everyone's friend but not having anyone as her own close friend. She tries to distract herself from this hole in her student life by placing herself in leadership roles where she has control and satisfaction.

Being a muggle, that might have been where she was raised and it seems that "being special" has already set up a boundary between her and her siblings and actual parents which might be a 'good thing' in the eyes of the other Professors, wizards and even students. Muggles are a dangerous sort and consorting with muggles, even biological relatives could prove disastrous not only for her but also everyone around her. Had she not had an aunt and extended family of a magical nature, it is likely that someone from the school would have reached out to her and found 'excuses' for her to not come back home. All the same, there would be one particular oddity that she might have noticed -- the staff are always interested in how her vacations and time away from school went. Who she spent her time with. Sometimes asking specifically about her parents but never digging too deep. While nonchalant for the most part, some are about as sly as a punch to the face. Despite this, they would likely seem relived by your answers.
Ilvermorny NPC
Name: Serenity Arellano
Age: 14
School Year: 4th
House: Horned-SerpentRace: Human
Blood Status: Muggle-Born
Appearance: Serenity has long, black curly hair and pretty brown eyes. Her skin is a shade of milky chocolate, but she often experiments with makeup. She genuinely likes wearing makeup and usually has it on. Whether it be to make her lips a pretty shade of red or purple, or to just have winged eyeliner, it's all good for her.
She's very tall for her age, standing at 5'10, and hopefully reaching 6'0 by the time she's 18. Because she's tall, she usually wears pants or shorts, and is self-conscious about dresses.Personality: Serenity is very sweet and utterly calm. She dreams of being a therapist when she's an adult, and studies everything about personalities and traits. In any incident, she's the one to calm everyone down, and make sure that everyone is okay. She's usually very nice and super helpful.
However, she can be extremely brash and unkind if she isn't paying attention. She's blunt and rude if she doesn't like someone, and can easily start a fight. Her height would be an advantage, too. Despite this, she does try to stay polite to her peers and teachers. She certainly isn't someone you would want to mess with.
History: Serenity was born on March 7th, 2005, at midnight exactly. Her parents were very loving, and absolutely adored Serenity and her older brothers, Mark, Jackson, and Jay. Jay was the eldest, and Mark and Jackson were twins. Serenity ended up spending the majority of her time with Jay, which is why she was always calm towards Mark and Jack.
She was the only person in her family to show magical signs. Just when she was seven years old, she made a book her mother was reading, fly all the way over to her, and begin reading itself to Serenity. Her parents were shocked and terrified, and were very upset. When someone came and explained that she was a witch, her parents began disassociating themselves from her, and thus she moved in with Jay and his girlfriend, Penelope.
When she turned eleven and went to Ilvermourney, Serenity was terrified. What if she was the only one who as brought up by muggles? What if she ended up failing her classes? She was soon sorted into Horned-Serpent, and her journey began.
In an instant she was making friends left and right, and excelling in her classes. Everything felt right to be a witch. Even if her parents seemed to disagree.

Just a minor modification. The school has not been the most honest to muggle parents and family members about witchcraft existing. In fact, they have done the opposite. Someone did most certainly speak with your parents and told them the truth (that you were a witch) in front of your but then shortly thereafter they were likely oblivated (might see a theme here in the notes in other bios as well). Due to previous transgressions between witches and muggles in America resulting in Rapports Law as well as incidents such as the Salem Trials, muggles are intensely distrusted by the American magical community in general.
Your parents would vaguely recall having a daughter with a "powerful imagination" that was admitted to a school for the "artistically gifted." What artistic gifts, well perhaps none. Perhaps that is why your parents started to disassociate themselves with you, although believing that it is because you are a witch would be the unkind purpose of those that told your parents the truth in your presence and them oblivated them a short-time later. To make being a witch a secret to keep from muggles - that they would love you less, leave you, perhaps even hurt you.
You presently reside with your older brother Jay and his girlfriend. Sadly, both muggle. You might notice that your time with them in very brief, there is always so much to do - extra errands requested of you from the Professors, offers for extra credit, summer camps, vacations and holidays to varied magical places to further enrich your culture. When you do see Jay because you have rejected likely several or numerous offers, he is always as he normally has been but you might have noticed gaps in his memory. Moments where your witch-nature would have been discussed, shared or exposed have been "forgotten" but he does seem to know that you go to a school and call it by its proper name. Just the terms he might associate with it may be "a bit off."
