I am planning to create my character as a Part-Veela character and had a question about racial abilities. I noticed the Alluring ability listed in the race thread. If I choose the Part-Veela race, does that prevent me from taking an additional ability? I am hoping to also select Calming Presence or Lovely Creature for my character and am confused as I read only one ability for first years.

So with special races you get abilities in year 1, 3, 5 and 7

As Nick said, with special races there are set abilities you get in years 1, 3, 5 and 7.

In years 2, 4 and 6, you can apply for abilities that are listed in the Special Abilities thread.
