I just realised that a bunch of users, two of whom are @Amber Rosewood and @Ténébra Lowfa vanished off the face of hogwarts.io suddenly. Ténébra literally owled me a few days ago. Why did they disappear?

Sometimes people ask for a soft deletion. Or sometimes they get banned, I can't remember what the banned is called tho

when someone applies for a soft deletion, all their posts are deleted. as ténébra did just yesterday. i think.

No it’s only hard deletion that deletes posts

Looks like a few people have answered this, there is a bit to add, though.

Sometimes, people swap characters or do not have time for the site. Often, they will request a deactivation. This would still result in you receiving a screen saying 'No user' when you click on their profile, so it looks like they disappeared. But their posts are still intact.

Bans also result in that occurring.

Like the others said, soft and hard deletions will also delete the profile. Only a hard deletion will delete all the posts, though.

There is a thread where people request deactivations and deletions; if they did not request a hard deletion, then that post will still be present, so that is a way you can tell if someone has left the site or swapped characters.

Here's a link to the deleting/deactivating thread: Deleting/Deactivating Account (If you're looking to confirm if an RP partner requested deactivation/deletion.

Livia mentioned it above, and it can be found in the Site Information > Staff Request forum

Often, not always because sometimes I do not notice it, I try to message people in recent rp threads with a banned user to let them know they were banned. Honestly, I do not ban that many people. 9 out of 10 times, it is because they were multi-accounting and really thought they could pull "it is my sister and she uses my email because she does not have one, oh and we share the same device and she is super nice to me and gives me all her earnings."

Other cases are pretty uncommon and if it is something really serious, you'll likely see me give a general statement about it. Over the years people have done some heinous stuff.
