Sophie lived at Meadows manor in London, hidden from muggles. Her family was quite rich and she could get whatever she wanted. Her parents were different from the rest of the family though, they were tolerant of muggles and encouraged her to be the same. Still, they never let her near muggles, for fear of exposing their world and leading to avoidable questioning. She was the older of two siblings and her younger sister, Lily, looked up to her enormously. Sophie had been encouraged to study and uphold the family honour and reputation from a young age. Apart from muggle studies lessons she took separately to understand the muggle world, she also went to a wizarding prep school and was an excellent student there because she worked hard and was naturally bright. Her family was one of the pureblood families who loved socialising and were always inviting someone or the other to dinner. Sophie didn't mind, except for one thing, that if she made a mistake or spilt something, it would reflect badly on the whole family and not just her. Even though she knew her parents wouldn't scold her, she still felt like it was her duty to be a credit to them.

When she got her Hogwarts letter, the family had mixed reactions, Sophie was excited and nervous in equal measure, her parents were pleased as a punch, and her sister, though she knew it was a phenomenal opportunity, still felt sad that they'd have to be separated

Sophie's first instance of magic happened when she was five and gardening in the manor's front garden. She had just been yelled at by her parents and was in a rather angry mood, and putting all of it into shovelling out the soil. Suddenly, all the soil from the place she was digging from flew out by itself and landed in a neat pile - on her head! She didn't forget this for a long time!

Sophie loves gardening, reading, socialising with people and visiting new places and learning new things. She is kind and friendly though, unlike most other purebloods she knows. She is extraordinarily beautiful and often causes distraction to others. When she came to hogwarts, she continued to be a slightly reserved person, but once getting to know someone, chattered nineteen to the dozen with them, and always there to lend a helping hand. She spent a lot of time in the library, reading up new things, and consequently being a very good student or so many people around her thought, because like Hermione Granger, she would seem to have swallowed a textbook when she would turn up for class.

Sophie has blonde hair, a rather haughty look at times, (a misleading impression), blue-grey eyes, and usually dresses up in a rather fancy manner, with formals.
