I'm asking this question because I could've sworn that there is a section on the site that states who is in which house, and that you need to have an encyclopedia page for your character and it needs to be validated before your name is on there. It's possible I confused it with something else, but if I didn't: what is the section called? How would I be able to navigate there? And how long can I expect the validation process to be before my character's name is added to that list of Hogwarts House members?

So, in your encyclopedia you’ll have a post about a trunk. This is where your stats and abilities will go. The post will be under your first post that describes your character. (See my iNPC, Dylan Astor’s ency for an example since it’s easier to navigate.) Once you’ve created a trunk, you can post in the Index Registration thread where your stats will be validated and you’ll be able to attend moderated events and be in moderated threads. You will also be added to the list of indexed members. This process can take a few hours or up to two weeks. If you haven’t gotten any contact from staff after two weeks, you can reach out to one of the leading registration members since they may have accidentally overlooked your application.

Hello @Aisling Doyle! The list that you mention is the Official Index, if I understood correctly, and it can be found here. To be added, you must be indexed. To start that process, you can submit an application here if you haven't already done so. The process usually takes a few days before a member of the index team will reach out to you with any required edits or if you are good to go.
