XXXFriday was a good day. It meant the beginning of the weekend— that was, right after classes. Eonaria liked the weekend because she could do her homework and studying in large, uninterrupted chunks of time. Hogwarts had a wide variety of places to set up a work station for yourself and concentrate on work, from the common room to the many empty classrooms to even the Great Hall— when it was empty. Eonaria was fairly sure no one would be able to get work done if it was during meal time, with the entire student body chattering and the tables covered by plates and dishes.

XXXIt was still fairly warm for late September, yet the temperature kept changing intermittently from the dungeons to the upper floors to outside. Eonaria kept her scarf with her just in case, though it did get annoying as she constantly took it on and off. Eventually, she just settled for holding it for comfort. Her hands could be warm.

XXXShe was going to head to the library to get an early start on her Transfiguration essay, passing through the courtyard. However, on her way through, a blonde first year approached her. Eonaria blinked in mild bemusement, listening to her stream of words. “Oh! Well, I’d say I’m pretty good at Herbology. I could help you. It’s nice to meet you, Ally! I’m Eonaria, in Gryffindor.” She offered her hand for a handshake.

XXX “Yeah, sure! After lunch? Sounds good!” Eonaria beamed. Her first experience tutoring someone!! Yay!! She was very relieved that it was a subject she was good at, one that she would be confident in helping with. Alright, what do I remember from last year’s Herbology… Bouncing Bulbs… Fireseed Bushes… Incendio… yeah, I should be good to go! A new year meant a fresh set of things to learn, and Eonaria was glad that her Herbology grade was still a perfect Outstanding. Hopefully she would be able to help Ally!

Ally Craig woke up this morning a tad excited, but what could she say the reason for that was only that today she was going to have her first tutoring session out in the courtyard!! A place she had always wanted to go see but because she was trying to excel in school, she had never found the chance nor a reason to be there!

Ally finally got out bed, went to choose her clothes for the day she settled for another one of her dresses since Ally really didn't like jeans too much, she preferred dresses over jeans and t-shirts any day. So here she made her bed and headed to the great hall for breakfast, she ate a many of the sweets they had put out on the dining table.

After breakfast she went back to her common room to brush her teeth and fix her hair in a nice way she figured a Nice Updo Hairstyle would do since Ally really didn't want anything too fancy as she wasn't going to any ball yet.

So, as Ally had finished putting her headband on, she realized it was finally time for lunch, and this made her nervous and excited at the same time it was getting closer and closer for her first Herbology Tutoring Session with a Second year Gryffindor girl whose name Ally now knows is Eonaria. Eonaria seems friendly enough, Hopefully I will be able to learn something from her and she won't be to mean of a tutor like Ally's tutor back at home. Ally had thought.

Ally had made sure to grab all the materials she would need for her tutoring session in the Courtyard and made the trek to the great hall for lunch. This time Ally settled for the soup and sandwiches since it was the middle of September, and the weather was changing from day to day and Ally wanted to make sure not to get sick.

After she ate and went to the lavatory to brush her teeth and do her business, she made the long trek to the Courtyard as to not be late for her first Herbology Tutoring Session. When Ally arrived at the Courtyard, she had noticed that Eonaria hasn't arrived yet. So, she still must be finishing up with lunch. I did finish faster than I normally would.

XXXMuch to her chagrin, Eonaria had spent half the morning pondering what exactly she would need to tutor someone. She had no prior experience officially helping others in schoolwork, and moreover, it was usually her the one getting tutored by her brother. Although, she was happy to say that she stopped needing his help once she got to Hogwarts, except perhaps a particularly complicated Transfiguration theory that had scrambled her brain.

XXXThat morning, Eonaria got up nice and early-- which was, her exact same time of getting up as any other day-- and tugged her old Herbology essays out of her trunk. She reread them all in her dormitory, parchment scrolls splayed all over her bunk. Once she was satisfied with her level of recall, Eonaria reorganised her living area to be pristine as usual.

XXXAfter breakfast, she visited the library to grab a few more Herbology books that might hold useful information. She selected some of the ones she remembered reading for fun last year, tucking them safely in her bookbag. By the time the afternoon rolled around, Eonaria was almost entirely confident that she could at least assist somewhat. However, now she had a new problem to deal with: what exactly was considered afternoon? Right after 12:00? Or was something close to 14:00 more accurate? Eonaria checked the time multiple times while eating lunch, too jittery to eat much more than a bowl of tomato soup. Two bowls of tomato soup. It's delicious! Shush!

XXXFinally, at around 13:45, she hurried to the Courtyard, looking around to see if Ally was there yet. Eonaria spotted her immediately, approaching her with a smile. "Hi Ally! I hope I'm not late?" She set her bookbag down against the edge of the fountain, hoping there would not be some sort of water disaster that would endanger her books. "I really like your dress!" she added brightly. She herself was wearing a simple, sleeveless white top and a dark red ankle-length skirt, the extremely twirlable kind. It was a little chilly out in the courtyard, but Eonaria ignored it.

XXX"So, what part of Herbology do you think you are struggling at most?" Eonaria began the main part of the tutoring session after Ally had replied, sitting down by the fountain and gesturing for her to sit as well. She set her bookbag on her lap and took out her Herbology textbook.

Ally Craig had noticed the time after she arrived it was close to 13:50 and Eonaria still hadn't showed up. Ally was just about to turn and leave thinking that something had happened to Eonaria So, Ally was going to ask around or just maybe she forgot about our tutoring serssion. Ally had thought to herself.

Just as Ally turned to leave she saw Eonaria running into the courtyard almost out breath she greeted Ally saying "Hi Ally! I hope I'm not late?" A question to which Ally responded Hello Eonaria!! Not at all! I was starting to worry though that maybe something bad had happened or that you forgot about me. Hahaha!!!
After they had greeted one another. Eonaria says to Ally "I really like your dress!" To which Ally answers Eonaria back Why thank you I have a ton of Flowery dresses most have Roses on them and almost all are in pink! Even though your outfit is simple it really suits you!

After they exchanged compliments, Eonaria asks the question Ally was anticipating hearing all morning, "So, what part of Herbology do you think you are struggling at most?" Ally answers with a bright and nervous smile on her face saying To be honest the lowest grade I got was on my third lesson called If there's a fire and that I got the grade of Exceeds Expectations, I just want to be able to make my mom and gran proud of me, you know?

After Ally had stated what part of Herbology she needed the most help in Eonaria sat down and had gestured for Ally to do the same. Which Ally had found a spot beside Eonaria on the beautiful fountain and began taking out all her materials and setting them up to where Ally could get whatever she might need easier from her Herbology book to her quills and parchment Ally had it all.

XXXEonaria blinked in alarm at Ally's response. "No, I wouldn't do that!" She reassured her. "That would be awful!" Well actually, she was very prone to forgetting many things from her promises to her shoes, so it wasn't exactly accurate. "Wow, are roses your favourite flower?" she giggled.

XXX"Thank you!" Eonaria ducked her head in appreciation, glancing down at her own outfit. To be honest, half her wardrobe was basically this outfit in all kinds of patterns and colors, plus some additions like cardigans or sweaters or shawls. The other half was made up of all kinds of robes. Eonaria did really like her flowy skirts.

XXXAlly explained that she had trouble with her third lesson, commenting on how she wanted to make her mother and grandmother proud of her. "Yeah, I really get that!" Eonaria nodded, a little confused. An 'Exceeds Expectations' didn't sound like something you would need a tutor for, but Ally most likely just wanted to perfect her score. While she herself would be a little disappointed with an EE instead of an O, it only lasted for a few minutes before she brushed it off. "Um, was that the one where you learned Extinguo? Or the, uh, Bouncing Bulbs? Or was that the lesson before..." She pondered it for a moment.

XXXAh, she remembered now. Eonaria had needed help from one of her classmates with the Bouncing Bulbs. But Bouncing Bulbs didn't pair with Extinguo... they were learning how to get rid of it... "...or whatever plant we learned in that third lesson! Do you need help more with the spell or with the plants?" She knew the topics well, but wasn’t very sure which ones they had learned in which class.

Ally had laughed like she had never laughed before when she saw the look Eonaria gave her after Ally had told Eonaria That maybe she had forgotten about the tutoring session.

After Ally's laughing spell had finally dwindled down, Eonaria asked Ally if "Roses was Ally's favorite flowers?"
A question to which Ally smiled and gave Eonaria her most honest answer that she could think of saying My favorite flower in fact is really Orchids but they don't really make a lot of dresses with Orchids on them so I settle for my second favorite flower red or pink roses, which both color of roses mean love. Did you know that an orchid also has the meaning of flower of love?

Ally knew she was going a bit off topic so she had to wind it down some and get back down to earth instead of her romantic flower meanings.

So, when Eonaria had asked Ally What exactly in that lesson did Ally need help understanding better. Ally answered back saying That it was a little bit of both the plant and spell theory. That Ally was in dire need of understanding better.

So, after all the inquiries were stated and answered, Ally grabbed her Herbology textbook and turned to lesson they would be working on in the tutoring session.

XXXEonaria's cheeks flushed pink in embarrassment as Ally started laughing at the look on her face. Okay, maybe she was a lot more expressive than the average person, so what?! She huffed slightly and brushed it off. The tips of her ears were tingling with heat. "No, they're--?" she paused to think about it. In the Japanese flower language, orchids weren't a flower of love, more of a symbol of prosperity and good fortune. But they probably meant something different in English. "Oh, that's cool!" Eonaria overrode her own sentence, deciding to take Ally's word for it. She was likely correct about her favourite flower, after all. "You could always custom-order a dress with orchids on it!" Eonaria suggested curiously, her mind already forming design ideas. But this wasn't the main focus of the meeting, after all. They were already quite sidetracked.

XXX"Mm, okay," Eonaria mused, trying to figure out exactly what Ally was asking for. She watched the other girl flip the textbook pages to the lesson they were discussing. "Well, maybe we could talk about the background of gillyweed! Context and details help contribute to the overall picture, which is great for understanding the entire plant as a whole." Eonaria had found the gillyweed plant quite fascinating, a strange-looking mass that couldn't possibly be vegetation yet did wondrous things. Personally, Eonaria didn't think she would ever be able to stomach such a plant, not with that awful texture. "Umm..."

XXXShe tapped the picture of gillyweed in the textbook. "I'm assuming you understand the basics, since Exceeds Expectations is not a bad grade at all. So! Side effects! They actually remove your ability to breathe normal air, which can potentially be dangerous." She was about to say that it could be used for assassinations, but then realised that had nothing to do with the lesson and was not something that was good to discuss. "Uh, that means you should be careful not to consume it by accident, which can be connected to gillywater! It's a drink that's made with gillyweed, but I think it's been boiled down before getting added to the drink, which somehow reduces its effects until nothing much happens. Now, if you can drink enough gillywater until the gillyweed takes effect, I have no idea..." Eonaria scanned the textbook page for a moment before putting it down and flipping through one of the other Herbology books. Wait a minute, I'm supposed to be teaching, not starting a debate. Does that count as teaching? Isn't that a teaching technique? Discussions? Hmm... She cleared her throat, looking back at Ally. "Probably not, though. Did that make sense?"

Ally Craig was trying very hard to pay attention to Eonaria so she could really comprehend what the other girl was trying to explain exactly!!!! This lesson is even more intriguing than the first time I heard it!!! Ally had accidentally blurted out of the blue.

Ally didn't know what Eonaria would think of her comment but suddenly Ally became self conscious and very embarrassed of her little outburst, so much so that she started turning red in the face so red in fact that anyone might confuse her face as being a tomato!!!

After Ally had finally calmed down a bit from her inner turmoil and inner dialogue she turned her attention back to Eonaria who was now going on about gillyweeed and how it can actually remove your ability to breathe normal air, which can become highly dangerous....

Then Ally went on listening to Eonaria talking about how one should be very careful not to accidentally consume it, which can actually be connected to gillywater, Ally in all seriousness was taking physical and mental notes of the topic they were discussing so she won't forget a thing when the final exams come around. When Ally had heard Eonaria say that gillywater is a type of drink that is made with gillyweed which in a way was self explanatory but still Ally was listening and paying real good attention and keeping up with her notes.

Ally wondered how much gillywater it would take one to drink until s eefectys took place not that she was actually going to experiment on that either she was just curious and she knew not to let her curiosity take her anywhere, just for the simple fact that she had heard some muggles talking in the streets one day saying "that curiosity had killed the cat", so, Ally was in fact very cautious when curiosity got involved!

XXX"This lesson is even more intriguing than the first time I heard it!!!" Ally suddenly exclaimed, startling Eonaria out of her lecture/monologue/ramble session. She blinked in surprise at the outburst before her brain figured out what Ally had said and her whole face lit up in excitement. "Really?!" she exclaimed in return, awed. Eonaria never thought she'd find someone who found random rabbit holes and generally useless arbitrary theoretical discussions as interesting as she did!

XXXWaa, she thinks my explanation is intriguing!! She nearly leaped to her feet, but stayed sitting down, beaming. "Thank you!!" After Eonaria cooled down from her sparkle session, she cleared her throat and checked the textbook again, though this time with a smile on her face.

XXX"Well, I think that's all I have to say about gillyweed, aside from the topics you already heard during the actual lesson... So next is the Extinguishing Charm! The wand movement is a bit of a strange shape, but you can think of it like a curly W." Eonaria put down the textbook before taking out her own wand, standing up to demonstrate the wand movement. "For me, I sometimes have trouble with this because just making this movement--" she repeated it-- "makes me want to make two loops instead of one, which would be incorrect. Well, maybe it's more like one and a half...?" She tried it again, her eyebrows furrowing. "Well, either way, it overshot the first loop. I'm not sure why I'm inclined to do that, but anyway. Just remember to be very purposeful in what movement you make when casting spells until it becomes muscle memory." Eonaria sat back down, nodding. Advice I need to work on if I don't want to use the wrong wand movement in duelling, haha...

XXX"It's a really straightforward spell, and the pronunciation sounds just the way the incantation looks. I don't think it has much history or ambiguity, it's just a very simple spell. Oh, and it makes a silvery mist. Any questions?" She turned back to face Ally hopefully.
