i'll start i guess. yes, snape wasnt nice. its very true. he held a huge grudge against harry because of what james and the maurauders did to him. but a quote i like says something to the effect of: 'your instinctive thoughts are what have been ingrained into your mind. theyre natural. but your intention in what you do about them defines who you are.' so. snape wasnt nice to harry. but it was always his intent to keep harry safe. so yeah i see snape as a hero

I’m going to say that Snape was both a bully and a hero. He did many great things and did his best to protect Harry until the end, but that doesn’t excuse the way he treated Harry out of pure spite. Harry hadn’t done anything to him at that very first Potions class. He just looked a lot like James Potter, which duh, he’s his father. That’s not a good reason for Snape’s behavior. He might have been justified in hating the Marauders, but that should not have extended to Harry. We can both honor his work and sacrifice and still disapprove of his treatment of Harry. I’m not putting my vote in cause I can’t choose.

That's not an easy yes or no question. I said false because the statement is not true. Snape is a bully, but that doesn't mean he isn't a hero. No hero is perfect, they all have flaws, and Snape's are just more severely dislikeable than most. He had redeeming qualities.
