Aiko was excited to be back in London. She had travelled there during her travelling days but had not stuck around long, having found that it was harder to find wizarding families looking for tutors in the big city. She just also hadn’t felt the need to stay much longer than a week, doing the mostly touristy type of exploring. But now she was back, and this time she was going to be staying in the London Quidditch stadium as the different events went on. It was a lovely time to interact with her fellow headmasters and headmistresses, and a perfect occasion for the students to mingle with those outside of their own schools. Not to mention the summer games for the various sports were always well attended. She herself was excited specifically for the quidditch match but hoped that the Mahoutokoro students would do well in all three.

That being said, she had wanted to give her own students a chance to spend time with one another outside of their school, and outside of the school year. School would be back in session soon enough, and homework and lessons would take priority once more. But she hadn’t known what to do. Shortly after the events at Pyre she had hosted a small event, and she didn’t want to simply do the same thing again. But she also didn’t want to do something that would require a lot of space, but just enough for the Mahoutokoro students and any guests they wished to bring.

And then it came to her, one day as she walked past several of the dragon themed tents, a campfire. Simple, but allowing them to gather together. They could roast marshmallows for s’mores, or hot dogs if they so chose, and Aiko would gladly provide the makings, plus a few different drinks including cold water, hot water, iced tea, tea bags and coffee for those who chose to drink it, plus ice cubes and cream, milk and sugar for the tea and coffee. The timing would need to be on one of the free evenings, and she would need to find a space away from the tents that they could use to light the bonfire.

First, she consulted the itinerary for the camp and noted that August 18th was open. There was no particular significance to the day per se, just that it seemed an opportune time to meet. Then it was a matter of getting the word out. It really had not been complicated, in her wanderings around the fair ground, she just stopped the first three Mahoutokoro students she recognized and asked them to the event, as well as asking them to spread the word. That just so happened to be Sara Kohana, Hikari Fujimoto, and Kanae Suzuki. She hoped all three had had a chance to spread the word wide, just so that no Mahoutokoro student felt excluded. She had also made sure to mention that it was mainly for Mahoutokoro students but if they wanted to bring a guest, they could do so.

Next was to find a location. She found a space that was in a sort of corner of the stadium but far enough from the walls and the tents to be safe to light wood. The day before the campfire, she used the levitation spell to take a bunch of wood she had requested from the stadium staff to the location. She also had asked them to provide several large logs to sit on, and some chairs which they brought to the area themselves and set up. Aiko had promised that she would ensure they were not damaged, and they in turn had promised to fetch them the next morning. Aiko had also managed to get a few tables for snacks and drinks, though she brought some cloths she had thought to hang in her quarters and used them as tablecloths.

One and a half of the tables would be taken up with ingredients for s’mores, hot dogs, and some vegetables, and then the other half contained a variety of sticks to choose from to roast those ingredients. The third table was solely dedicated to drinks and included some butterbeer she had been able to order from Diagon Alley, tea bags, coffee, cold water, hot water, a jug of iced tea and a big bowl full of ice. Next to those drinks would be the cream, milk and sugar for the tea and coffee plus a variety of mugs and glasses for the drinks to go into. Plates, bowls, forks, spoons and knifes were also on that table while condiments were set up between the ingredients and roasting sticks.

Aiko had arrived while the sun was still fully visible but by the time she had finished, and students started arriving the sun would be much lower in the sky. She had said students could start arriving at 8:30, and as soon as she saw the first student making an approach, she took her wand and cast incendio at the wood piled in the center to make sure it was well on its way before too many other students showed up.

She made sure to keep glancing at the fire as she waited for students to arrive, and set out to welcome them as they arrived, directing them to the food and drink table before mentioning they were welcome to sit anywhere but to be careful around the fire. She herself had chosen a simple pair of turquoise capris, with a light blue sleeveless shirt and a simple silverish cardigan to go on top if the night were to get cooler. She wore a dragonfly pendant on a necklace, and several silver rings on her fingers. She hadn’t bothered with make-up preferring a natural look, especially since it was going to be dark soon and she didn’t think it really mattered that much.

Note: this is primarily for Mahoutokoro students only, but if they choose to bring guests from outside the school, they are welcome to.

Night had fallen and that meant it was time for Maria to play. Her tent was most mahoutokoro students with a few odd stragglers. They were busy doing whatever it is those weirdos did. As for Maria, she picked her blackest of black dresses, thigh high boots and only the choicest of mascaras that said “move or else.” When she was content that she had wrung as much attitude and edge out of her wardrobe and make up as she could muster, the Chinese student brushed past whatever busybodies still remained and made her way to the school sponsored campfire on the edge of the stadium, melding into the shadows.

Arriving at the party a little later than punctual she realized she was one of the first. She could only make out the silhouette of their headmistress, whom she never quite properly met. Well, no time like the present to ignore that interaction! Channeling her inner asian, she skirted the perimeter of the fire, just outside the touch of the light that danced on the ground until she bumped into one of the tables with the fixings for s’mores. She took a marshmallow and gingerly, and with great care as not to mess up her makeup, plopped the whole thing into her mouth. Oops. Perhaps a little too big. She was forced to cover her mouth with her hand as she carefully and intentionally tried to chew and move the marshmallow around so that she could at least close it.

Hoping to avoid her headmistresses attention, she wanted to go back into the safe security of the darkness, but…one more marshmallow wouldn’t hurt! And so it was that little feisty Maria stood over the marshmallows happily putting one in after the other.

Aiko’s excitement had turned to slight concern. Glancing at her watch, she noted that it was past the time she had told the students to arrive and hoped that the message had been conveyed properly. She did want the event to go off without a hitch, but it seemed like she may have to wait a bit longer to see if that held or not. Glancing between the fire and the field nearby, she sighed. Then glancing at the tables, and back again, she decided it wouldn’t hurt to grab some tea and maybe snack on a piece of chocolate. She could still see a decent piece of the field around the area, and it wouldn’t hurt to step away for a moment. It wasn’t like now she would miss anything. Thinking slightly morosely to herself, she figured if no one else came, she would at least have the makings for s’mores as comfort food.

Turning, she moved directly towards the table that held the drinks, and taking the convenience of the black tea bags over tea leaves. She looked longingly at the snacks but turned her back for the moment she looked at the fire, wondering how long she should wait before just diving in herself. Chocolate and Marshmallows did make everything better, even if most thought her penchant for burning her marshmallow, peeling the burnt bits off to eat and then re-burning it was a bit…well strange was the kinder word.

I figured I’d leave it to tatsu to see if Aiko actually spotted Maria, and well, Tatsu failed me, haha

When the headmistress asks you to do something… you do it, right? That was how it is. Except that this particular task of marketing the event wasn't…. really Sara's forte. Perhaps the headmistress asked him because he was tall and easy to see? Therefore attracting people? Regardless, Sara didn't have it in him to say no, nor did he want to clarify why on earth did she choose him of all people. If Ginyami was here… …

That's enough - . He promised himself he'd deal with that at his own pace.

So he spent some time nervously asking around kind people for things like papers and markers and decided to make a simple poster detailing the information of the event. Even drawing a map at the back of it to show where it was.

It was… informative.. with his attempt at cut out shapes and frames to make the border more interesting. He felt that if he couldn't do the talking… maybe papers would. Unfortunately, he didn't have enough to go and give it to everyone so he only handed them to students he felt like he had seen from Mahoutokoro before.

When the flyers were done, it was for the hardest part next: showing up. It was a bonfire of all things, just imagining the crackling sounds of the evident fire forced him to hide his hands in his jacket. Breathes.. he was safe. Eventually, he arrived at the area, calming down a little seeing there weren't many people yet.

It was supposed to be a small gathering anyway. He saw the headmaster a few feet away, if she noticed him, he'd give her a respectful nod. It seemed she was preoccupied with the refreshments. He was standing there awkwardly for a moment, trying to debate with himself about if it was proper for him to go up to the headmaster. And if so, what would he say?

However, at the moment someone familiar just arrived, his eyes widened but a bit of tension immediately dropped from his shoulders. " You came..!" He sighed in relief as he greeted her, bowing slightly in greeting. " H-hi.. Um.. uh.. do you ..remember … me? You gave me this.. when we met last time.. " he took out the origami she had given him before, a little crooked than the last time she gave him. But presentable still.

The sun was setting when she left. She almost forgotten about this event, until just a few minutes ago when she opened her journal and saw the invitation glued there with a bunch of stickers and some doodles almost covering the actual information about the event. She was struggling to find the place due to all of her doodles but eventually she reached the entrance... miraculously.

The atmosphere was- nice. It was dark with just a few lights and, of course, the bonfire blazing brightly in the middle. She barely sees the people, but there isn’t a lot of people attending as far as she could see.

Mio grinned, she doesn’t like crowded places or busy streets, so this is perfect for her. She saw the headmaster and bowed, even though Mori-sensei was probably too preoccupied with the party.

Today, Mio;s outfit are pretty much as quirky as she has always been. Wearing an outfit that sums up her personality well. It was all dark colored, with different shades of black and a lot of different textures all over the place. Messy, but it all made sense in her eyes.

Mio walked towards the fire but was surprised by the sudden huge silhouette appearing before her eyes. Mio stands aback but still keeps her bored, unperturbed expression. She looks up at this giant man to see a familiar face.

" You came..! H-hi.. Um.. uh.. do you ..remember … me? You gave me this.. when we met last time.. " Mio focused her eyes on Sara's face. The senior who invited her to this place to begin with. She was slightly taken aback by someone who was actually glad of her appearance, while usually most people tended to show disappointment at her entrance. A very faint smile colored her usually pale face, although it was almost too faint to be noticed by anyone. She bowed, "Yes, Hello, I remember you, giant senior," and before she continued, she saw the paper crane in his hand, noticed a few crumpling on the paper. Without hesitation, Mio took the origami and gently straightened it with her hand.

"There you go." She placed the origami crane back into Sara's hand, which now looked as good as the first time she gave it to him. "I want to eat hot dogs." With no further comments, Mio grabs the sleeve of Sara's shirt and drags him to the fire.
