A cool breeze is the only respite against the heat of the day, the sun bearing down on the field as the stands fill with spectators from across nations for the first of the summer matches. The sound of budding excitement filters through the stadium. As fans find their seats and teams gather and prepare to enter, Avery steps up onto the podium and bounces on the balls of her heels for a moment as she takes the atmosphere in.Link to Quidditch System: viewtopic.php?t=7504
"Welcome all to what is no doubt going to be another thrilling game of Quidditch!" she starts, stepping up so her voice is properly projected. "Today we have quite the match up! Durmstrang is teaming up with players from Koldovstoretz to take on a tough team comprised of students from Mahoutokoro and Castelobruxo! Let's give it up for the teams!" A roar builds in anticipation for the players as both teams enter from their respective locker rooms. A few moments are given for teams and fans to luxuriate in the atmosphere. "Players, please take your positions!" She looks across the field, watching for the teams to set up before she continues. "Let's have a good match, everyone!"
This is a spectator thread for the Quidditch Game. 200 words is still the requirement for all threads. Please remember that you are not able to interface with the players on the pitch from a spectator thread.

![]() It was a sunny day with clear skies, perfect for a quidditch match. Kim would usually not be caught dead watching anything having to do with heights. The sixteen year old's aversion was not just regarding brooms but with heights in general. The trauma he'd built up over the years had not decreased with age and had in fact increased with time. So why was Kim in the spectator stands at a quidditch match now? For one reason. He was there to support his beloved, a certain Durmstrang seeker known as Valentin Schnell. Kibō wrapped himself around his upper arm and rested his head on top of his shoulder as Kim gazed at the playing grounds. For the first time in awhile, Kim hadn't really participated in most of the summer events. He'd had his hands full with setting up BaiKim Confections. With Bailey's absence, he'd spoken with her about what they should do for their shop during summer and he'd done his best to make it a reality. It had gone pretty well for the most part and Kim had been satisfied with how things had gone. Good enough for them to start it up for real later. But after the expo had ended and he'd been able to take a breather, Kim hadn't really wanted to mingle with others. All he really needed was Kibō and Val and he would be content. So he'd taken the time to relax. Until the end of camp neared and Val had informed him of the date of his quidditch match. Kim had promised him he'd come and be there for him, a silent supporter. So that was why he was there now. He'd kept his promise. Kim was not someone who broke promises when he made them. Despite his fear of heights and the sport in general, Kim would be there for his man. As Val showed up on the field, leading his school as the captain of Durmstrang, Kim couldn't help but smile. He was dressed in a Durmstrang uniform, although Kim had turned the color black for now. Val's white hair and Kim's black hair were like the chinese yin and yang. One couldn't exist without the other. Their eyes met eachother soon after Val was done checking the brooms of his team and Kim offered him a sweet smile. Val gave an inspiring speech to his fellow members and then the game started. Kim watched as both teams gave their all to the game and at long last in the end, his beloved caught the snitch and won it for his team. A smile came to his lips again as Kim caught Val's eye once more and he raised his thumb into the air to congratulate him. Kibō hissed, his gem-like eyes sparkling, and raised his head to gaze at the celebrating team. Could Kim have been Val's lucky charm which had allowed him to win? Perhaps. Perhaps not. At any rate, Kim was happy Val had won. Maybe they would be able to celebrate together sometime afterward if he happened to have some free time later. Kim couldn't wait to see him again. ![]() |

Durmstrang-Koldovstoretz vs Mahoutokoro-Castelobruxo
If someone had told Dee a year ago that this day would come, she would have been concerned about their sanity - and would have made that concern known very vocally. And yet, here she was - decked out in bright red, from the top she'd borrowed from Amina to the stripes of paint on her cheeks, leaning against the railing of the stands as she watched her boyfriend walk out onto the pitch below. There was no banner, and no coordinated chanting, but she had to leave some room for improvement, right? When in doubt, she could still paint an impromptu banner into thin air, after all. (Her artistic skills, however, were questionable.)
It wasn't just Madhup she was here to support, either. Amina and Dee had fallen into a rather easy friendship after some initial tension, and today, Dee had come to collect - on the bet that Amina had lost during their very first meeting. Dee was looking forward to that, and knowing Amina, the human incarnation of go big or go home, it would be spectacular.
Her lips curved into a fond smile as she watched Mad blow a kiss she knew was meant for her, even if he probably hadn't spotted her yet. She'd promised to come, he knew she was there, that was enough. (She'd whistle at him later, when he passed by on his inevitable penalty laps.)
The game started off fast-paced and brutal, no less than she expected from the Durmstrang team, although this year, their opponents seemed determined to play just as rough. Bludgers were flying, children were falling, and Mad dodged a coordinated attack aimed at him. Thoughtful, Dee leaned forward a bit more, arms crossed on the banister. What would it feel like, she wondered, if she had to watch him fall? (Not a situation she'd been in so far.)
Much like their match last year, this one was promising to end very soon, and very abruptly. Just moments after it had begun, the Seekers of both teams seemed to hone in on a small glint in the air - had they spotted the Snitch already? Would it really end just like that, two minutes in with only an insignificant number of Quaffle points scored, rendering all other players completely useless? It seemed to be headed that way. She'd said it once and she'd say it again: Quidditch was a ridiculous sport.
But first, she was about to put her hypothetical musings to the test. Amina received a cheerful wave as she sped past on her first penalty lap - these Durmstrang players did not know how to cheat without getting caught - but even while she let her hand sink, her eyes trailed back to Madhup... just in time to see the Bludger slam into him with brutal precision. Just in time to watch him fall. Dee flinched, her hand twitching towards her wand, only to close around empty air instead. She couldn't just start casting into an active Quidditch game. It might get Mad's team disqualified, and she could already imagine the lecture she'd have to endure if she dared to jeopardise their win just because her boyfriend had just been slammed with a massive iron ball that had probably crunched through bones like sticks and damaged several important internal organs. And she knew, in theory, that he would be fine. Magic could fix most any damage; hell, Dee's little collection of potions, neatly stashed away in their tent, would probably be able to fix most of the damage.
But that didn't make it any easier to watch him collide with the ground, knowing she could have caught him; biting her lip as she waited for movement that didn't come. Dee had fallen before, during her races. This was nothing like that.
She kept her eyes on Mad until the medics had come for him, the fingers that she'd clamped around the rail only relaxing slightly once she saw the healing magic streaming from their wands. Then, when she finally looked back up, the game was over. Amina had scored a stack of Quaffle points, more than should have been possible in those few short moments, and the Durmstrang seeker had caught the Snitch. Another victory for Durmstrang, to no one's surprise.
Rolling her eyes, Dee painted a large, sparkling #14 into the air with a sloppy Flagrate, then turned away, shaking her head. Ridiculous sport.
