Aston was aware of his surroundings, aware of the amount of people here. It most likely contributed to why Rosales seemed so jumpy today, she did like her quiet, not that Aston can blame her. It's only human - or in the case ferret - nature. At this point she was curled up on his stomach, occasionally getting a few pats from Aston, her fur was as soft as always.

He noticed when the boy came close, well Rosales did to be more accurate, Aston only followed her gaze. The boy settled down nearby, seemingly here for the same purpose but lacked the luck Aston had to get a good seat. "I take it that you're here to draw as well? Hi I'm Aston, second year Ravenclaw." Aston said with a friendly smile, it wasn't till his ferret gave him a nudge that he remembered to introduce her. "Ah yes, and this here," Aston set his sketchbook down to lift Rosales up, "is Rosales, my attention seeking ferret."

In the mean time, Aston made a few observations about the new boy. He wasn't particularly short, with short brown hair and blue-ish eyes. He seemed young enough to be a first year, but he could just be one of his classmates that he never noticed, Aston was never great with guessing people's age. Dealing with people always took a level of effort, but the result was always worth the effort. Learning the social ques, the complex meaning behind certain words, it was annoying, an additional thing to learn along with his actual schoolwork, which was a whole other bag of worms. Tests are so stressful how does everyone deal with it? Deadlines and homework, loud classmates and louder teachers. All things Aston only just began to grow accustomed to in his second year, things he will hopefully learn to thrive in. Though with the way things have been going, that feels unlikely. Schoolwork is not today's issue anyway, Aston intends to fully enjoy his Saturday to the max.

Aston chuckled as he watched the boy's cat poke out of his bag, Aston personally never had Rosales hiding in his things, but that's probably cause he basically takes her everywhere instead of class. The weight of the ferret on his shoulder had long since been a familiar sensation. "So, Apollo? Like the Greek god I take it. " It was a name fit for the orange cat, the bright fur of the cat did have a likeness to the sun Apollo often represented.

"Cute name, cute cat too haha, hopefully they'll get along." Rosales seldom had an issue with other animals or pets around the school, as far as Aston knew she never acted aggressive or hostile at other people's pet, always friendly to get to know a new animal. Almost like Aston in a way. It's been like half a year since he got Rosales and he still remembers those early days with her. Rosales warmed up to him almost immediately, eager to get to know him and his family, though it took Aaron sometime before he had the same affection Aston always had for the animal.

The boy was called Damien, fairly normal, the last name was what stood out to Aston, "Dragonclaw? That sounds like an odd name, no offence of course, it's cool. Is it just one of those wizard last names?" Aston still hardly knows what was normal for wizards, was Dragonclaw secretly a normal kind of last name for wizards? He wouldn't know. Might even just be something the British wizards have, he certainly never heard of anything like that back in America. Apparently in his next year, his third year, there's more classes he can choose to study, and muggle studies is one of them. Just a whole class about muggle culture, how would that even go? Would it just be about muggle technology? Would they have a whole section about muggle music? If they can talk about the Smashing Pumpkins or Queens of the stone age in class he might actually take it. Sounds like an easy O to be honest, even though Aston didn't exactly grow up in muggle society, or any society for that matter.

"Hades of course? I suppose I do see the appeal." The mythology figure had interesting myths, the ruler of the realm of the dead, though Aston does not know all that much about him beside the famous myth of Hades and Persephone. "Glad to hear you didn't go with Hades as a name though, Apollo fits him much better." That fact felt clear to any and everyone wh0's seen the cat, the orange fur and the personality that Aston decided was bright and cheerful. All in all the cat seemed to clearly reflect the shine of the sun and the god in control of it.

Aston smiled at the compliment, sure it wasn't aimed at him specifically, but saying nice things about Rosales is basically saying nice things about him. "Yeah they do seem to be getting along, I like to think Rosales is pretty friendly, she took an liking to me quite soon after we met."

The question about his blood status caught Aston slightly off guard, but he took no offense or anything like that, it felt like a normal question in the wizarding world. "Oh I'm a half blood, my dad's the wizard, mom was a muggle, we're all American in case you couldn't tell by the accent. My father was in Illvermorny, a thunderbird, so when I got into Ravenclaw it probably could only be described as the apple not falling far from the tree. Are you a pureblood or what?" It would explain the last name probably, also he does know a few purebloods, this is a wizard school after all.
