"Do I have to wear a dress?" asked Violeta, looking at her mother. She'd been sitting on her bed, while her mother talked to her about how she should act, how she shouldn't act, the usual talk she had with Violeta, since she could be a bit wild sometimes, her mother always talked about her behavior before they attended balls or had guests over. Her mother nodded, walking around in circles "Yes, dear, you do." "I've told you this many times, they're family, but you have to look nice."
Apparently, just because the Roux Manor had been recently reconstructed because of the fire, which destroyed everything. All of her old clothes, books, the secrets which her grandfather, Charles Roux, had left behind were gone. The dress she wore was one her mother had recently bought for her. She had to admit, to herself, it was pretty, but she didn't like dresses, wearing them, specifically. "You're lucky you're wearing those converse, you're very convincing did you know?" "All of you're sisters, and I, of course are wearing heels, so much prettier than those ugly worn out shoes..." the tall woman told her daughter, now looking at her.
"Anyway, I think that's all, they'll be here any minute, so don't touch your hair, or makeup, you'll ruin it, like you have in the past..." That was true. Once she'd gone to a ball just after messing her hair up a bit and she'd gotten looks the entire evening, luckily she was merely eight, and people thought it was because of her age, and mostly it was. "I'll be fine..." she muttered, though her mother ignored that. "Come on now, they'll be here any minute.." the girl got up and groaned and her mother took her to the entrance, where her father, older sister, twin sisters and younger brother were all waiting for their guests, who should be getting there any moment.
The Slytherin didn't even know they'd have guests over until her mother sent her a letter the day before she left for Easter break, apparently her grandmother's brother, from her mother's side had had a son and he and her mother had recently contacted each other and her mother thought it would be an amazing ideia for their families to spend Easter together, Violeta did not, after all they were strangers, and the manor had recently been reconstructed, and it wasn't even finished yet, though this was better than going to a ball, which was what their family usually did. Though a ball only lasted one day or evening. The girl actually really, really hoped she could be alone on Easter, since she hadn't had alone time in a while, because of Hogwarts. There was schoolwork, the Headliner, Quidditch, which all occupied her time.
She didn't even have much time to read anymore, which was one of her favorite activities. She was a self titled introvert, and did not get along with most people. Not even Angel, her own twin sister, well she did get along with Kat, her other twin sister, but even though they got along, she liked to spend time on her own sometimes. They had a huge hedge maze which, if you found the exit, you'd end up inside a huge green house, one her grandmother had insisted on, her only addition to the house, her only touch to the house, Violeta was actually quite glad that the greenhouse hadn't gone up in flames because there were still flowers and plants and vegetables, though only a few her dead grandmother had planted, what she especially loved were the violets she had been named after.

__◇ Thoughts: Italic Mentions: @Violeta Roux ◇__ ⌞ ⌟Elisa stared at herself in the mirror. She frowned, and tucked the naughty strands of hair back into the single braid that went down her back. The young girl was wearing a flowy mint green dress that went past her knees, with a white cardigan covering her shoulders and tights and white shoes.
The reason behind this carefully selected outfit was a family reunion - it would be the first time she would meet her father's cousin's family. They were distant relatives and though her dad seemed to have been close to his cousin in his childhood, they had not seen each other in many years. The reason behind this visit was blurry to Elisa - her parents had not bothered to tell her and she was not very curious about the matter. She only knew that they would be staying with them for all of Easter vacations.
Therefore, it mattered to the preteen girl to give a good first impression to her relatives - especially since it seemed they had children her age. Though Elisa had pondered on this subject, she had not asked her parents and did not know who the children were and whether they attended Hogwarts.
"Elisa! You ready?" a voice called out from below.
"Yes, coming!" Elisa replied, detaching her gaze from the mirror and bending down to grab her luggage. She climbed down the stairs and joined her father, mother and brother in the living room. They were all rather nicely dressed as well.
"Alright!" Elisa's father said, beaming, "let's go!"
Together, the family of four stepped out onto the front lawn, Elisa holding her mother's hand her brother holding her father's.
With no more than a whish, they arrived upon the gates of the Manor in Manchester. They did not have to wait long before the doors opened for them, revealing a grand and majestic manor - though still bearing visible signs of an unfinished reconstruction.

As the manor's gates swung open and their guests arrived, Violeta's mother started to worry even more, making sure everything was absolutely perfect, she always did this when the family hosted family events. Panic, right before the guests arrived. Her father though, did a wonderful job calming her mother down, and that was what her father was doing.
While her parents talked, Violeta and Kat sat next to each other, while Daniel played with Ebony, his black kitty and Cassidy talked to Angel. The brunette sat in silence, and her silence said a lot. She and Kat both hated family reunions, and they both had hoped to spend Easter winding down, though now that they had this stupid family reunion, they couldn't follow their plans.
Her mother then looked at Violeta straight in the eyes, perhaps because she looked like a shrimp. Her look told a lot, she was probably giving the girl a warning, she fixed her posture and looked at Kat, they both rolled her eyes. The two understood each other better than anyone else, even though they were triplets, Angel being the eldest of the three, then Violeta and Kat being the youngest of the triplets. That did not matter though, Angel and Cassidy had always been extremely close, and similar too, while Kat, Violeta and Dani had always been a trio. Though now, Dani was with his kitty, Ebony, though he knew he could always come up to the two, if he'd like.

__◇ Thoughts: Italic Mentions: @Violeta Roux ◇__ ⌞ ⌟Grasping her father's hand tightly in her own, Elisa cautiously stepped inside the gates to the manor. Before her, was a three story high victorian house - palace, rather, she thought in awe. This was one of those estates that indicated the owners as from a wealthy, pureblood family. The facade facing them bore intricate designs that weren't unlike some of the muggle universities in England that Elisa had once visited. The whole building imposed an impression of authority and superiority to all things surrounding it. Quite a bit unsettling as well..., thought Elisa, a shiver running through her body.
She squeezed her father's hand, and she felt him squeeze back. At least all her family was with her.
Elisa's mother pointed to the little wild blossoms in the field on either side of the path. "Aren't they so beautiful under the morning sun?", she asked to nobody in particular. Elisa's dad chuckle lightly, and the mother continued, looking at her daughter. "Which kind can you identify, Elisa?"
"I don't know, mum", Elisa mumbled, "I'm not really in a mood to identify different species of flowers..." Her voice trailed off, and her mother, noticing her daughter's unease, laid a hand on her shoulder.
"Everything's gonna be fine, Elisa darling. It's my first time meeting these people as well, Tommy's as well. Only dad knows them, but he's assured us they are perfectly friendly and do not bite."
"I know, I know..." Elisa muttered, trying to control the nervousness building up inside her.
Time slithered by and soon they were standing in front of the great doors leading into the manor. "You all ready?", Elisa's father gently asked. Everybody nodded, and Teslon knocked three even times on the wooden door.
As it swung open, Elisa and her family were greeted with a little female house-elf. She acknowledged them with a polite salute and gestured them in. Elisa bit her lips, and bracing herself, she stepped in cautiously, still tightly holding her father's hand. Time seemed to decelerate to an agonising slow pace as they four of them travelled with the house-elf across the vast corridors and through doors. With each step forward, Elisa felt her heart tighten, as though a string was wrapped tightly around it. She watched as her little brother bounced around the halls, right behind the house-elf. He was only slightly taller than the little creature.
At last, they arrived at a pair of doors, which opened at the house-elf's push and revealed -
Violeta?
Her gaze froze on the girl right in front of her. And Angelina and Katrina and - she couldn't remember the oldest girl and the boy's name, but she had seen them at Hogwarts as well, without doubt.
With great effort, she tore her eyes away and looked at her shoes. Her head was swimming slightly and she wondered whether her cheeks were as red as they were burning. She wondered if any of the adults had seen her stupefaction.
Elisa didn't hear her father greet the family warmly. Processing the sudden revelation that one of her distant cousins was her dorm-mate kept her in a stupefied trance.

Ebony was being extra loud. Usually she was more of a quiet kitten, but she wasn't used to strangers. Daniel put her down, and she walked off, most likely to Dani's room. Violeta was looking down at her nails. They weren't even painted. Still she was looking down at them, she didn't even know why. Her parents were greeting their guests and then... she looked up and saw... Was that Elisa? As in her roommate?
She was truly in shock. They were related...? How was that even possible? It kind of made sense that her parents wouldn't tell her this because maybe they thought Violeta didn't know her. Even though her mind was full of thoughts, her face remained as it always did. Whenever she wasn't smiling, she looked mean and rude, which, sure she could be at times but this time that wasn't the intention. Even though she hated social gatherings, she tried to make herself look nice for her parents' sake.
Soon, Kat muttered something to Violeta, "Haven't we seen that girl at Hogwarts before?" the middle triplet, Vi nodded. "She's my roommate, actually..." she replied, silently. "Ohhh." muttered Katrina, right back at her. They stopped talking after that, feeling like they were being watched, which they probably were.
"Children, come meet your cousins." called their mother, Marjorie Roux. "Second cousins, I think." muttered Cassie, to Angel, though both Kat and Violeta clearly heard. "Still cousins." muttered the brunette. They all walked over to where their parents stood. This was going to be a long Easter break wasn't it? Did the girl pretend she didn't know Elisa? She didn't have a clue, so she waited for her to speak first, well either her or her parents.

__◇ Thoughts: Italic Mentions: @Violeta Roux ◇__ ⌞ ⌟Faintly, Elisa heard her father already chuckling merrily away with the triplet's parents. Which parent was he related to again? That didn't matter right now, not when Elisa just discovered that she her dorm mate, the other two triplets in her year and the older girl and younger boy were truly her cousins. She stared forcefully at her polished white shoes, wishing she could disappear into the ground. She very well knew that it was materially impossible. The young girl could feel her heart thumping in her chest, its rhythm unsteady and precarious, like the uneven footsteps of a dancer who couldn't hear the music. Her breath came in short gasps, her lungs expanding and contracting rapidly, too rapidly to let enough oxygen into her body.
She forced air in through her mouth, trying to ease the panting. She felt the comforting weight of her mother's hand on her shoulder - of course as skilled a healer as Margaret would notice her own daughter's discomfort. Elisa looked up into her mother's eyes, offering what she hoped was a reassuring smile. "Do you want to introduce yourself to your aunt and uncle?" her mother whispered, winking at Elisa. Gulping, the Slytherin realised her silence must have been impolite.
Hazel eyes dared a glance upwards, only to see that Violeta and one of the other triplets were muttering, darting their eyes back and forth. Without exactly knowing why, Elisa felt her cheeks go red.
"...it is my greatest pleasure," Elisa's father was saying, "to introduce you, dear Marjorie, Bernard, to my wife, Margaret! Perhaps you might know her, Marjorie? She's a healer at St Mungo's like you were, unless I am mistaken - which is probable considering my very bad memory - in which case I am terribly sorry." He beamed, and Mrs. Wagner proceeded to introduce herself. "I would also like to introduce our two children to your family! Tommy here," he pointed to the little boy clutching his sleeve, "is seven, and Elisa," he smiled at his daughter, "is thirteen and is attending Hogwarts. Perhaps you kids might know each other?"
Elisa had attended enough social gatherings to know that she was supposed to speak at that right moment. Except she had no idea what to say and her thoughts were a bundled mess. "I- yes," she gave a small nod, "We do know each other..." her voice trailed off, then remembering to properly greet her aunt and uncle, added, "It's... a pleasure to meet you." she bowed her head, hoping that this additional sign of respect would be enough to compensate for the lack of an earlier greeting. Already she was panting slightly again.

The brunette heard her parents faintly chuckling. She certainly did not look surprised, but inside she was. Finding out her dorm mate was her cousin was… something. Certainly. The thirteen year old wished she could go up to her room and simply stay there for an undesignated amount of time. Though she knew her parents would never allow her to do so, as it would be extremely disrespectful. So, she just stayed put and in place.
Elisa seemed to be doing the same, silence until her mother whispered something into her ear. She must have said something along the lines of ‘Why are you so quiet?’. She did not seem like a girl who was usually this quiet. Violeta on the other hand, was usually quiet so her own parents did not think much of her lack of conversation.
Introductions! Such boring parts of family gatherings. Really, why would you need to know the name of someone you’ll only see once? Except Elisa, which she saw everyday, though Violeta had already introduced herself to her, of course. Dorm mates needed to at least know each other’s names, or are expected to.
”My time as a healer at St. Mungo’s was quite short, Teslon. So I do apologize I do not remember you, Margaret, but it is quite nice to meet you.” Spoke her mother, replying to the question. Soon, her father spoke up, in order to introduce their offspring. ”It’s wonderful to meet you Margaret, Elisa and Tommy. This is Cassidy, our eldest. The triplets, Angelina, Violeta and Katrina and our youngest, Daniel here. The triplets are all thirteen, so you all must know Elisa, huh?” Violeta slowly nodded. She knew after Elisa spoke up, she would have to eventually. ”Yes, Elisa’s a Slytherin like the three of us girls, and I do remember seeing her before.” nonchalance was in her tone. ”Pleasure to meet your whole family, though.” she grinned, slightly. A fake sort of expression, of course, but she was used to playing the part.

__◇ Thoughts: Italic Mentions: @Violeta Roux ◇__ ⌞ ⌟Discreetly, Elisa studied Violeta's facial expression. Controlled, calm, unbothered, so similar to that of the dormmate she knew so well at Hogwarts. Because they're exactly the same person, Elisa reproached to herself. Was there any element of surprise at all in Violeta's features? Perhaps, but only when carefully observed, and even then, just a mere trace. Elisa wondered how the girl could keep looking so impeccable even in a situation like this one. Or had she already known previous to their encounter? Had her parents informed her, had she somehow guessed of their blood relation?
Vividly, the scene of their first meeting flashed before Elisa's eyes. The night of the first day of their first year, in the Slytherin girls' dormitories. Elisa hadn't been able to sleep with the excitement of the day, and she and Violeta had exchanged a brief and awkward interaction. That night, Elisa had been tired, overwhelmed and certainly hadn't known how to go about to make friends. Since then, after a year and a half of sleeping in the same dorm and attending the same classes, the girls had gotten to know each other, and though perhaps they were still a long way off from being best friends, their physical proximity lead to the development of some sort of mutual acknowledgement that went beyond simple acquaintance.
The adults were still talking and Elisa was only pulled from her thoughts by Violeta's familiar voice resonating through the room.
At the words, "I do remember seeing her before," Elisa couldn't help but raise her eyebrows ever so slightly. So what was her dormmate playing at, pretend ignorance? If that was what Violeta wanted, Elisa would gladly play along – perhaps this was the only way to avoid the situation spiralling into another awkward incident. So instead of correcting her and revealing their being dormmates, Elisa just nodded and grinned at Violeta. She wouldn't say anything, not yet. Through the gaze of her soft hazel eyes, Elisa was asking an unspoken question to her fellow second year – did Violeta know about any of this?

Violeta could most definitely tell that Elisa was surprised, to say the least that she had simply said that she 'remembered seeing her around'. The pair were dormmates, so of course they knew each other, however she did not want to deal with her parents and aunt and uncle bombarding the two second years with questions. She simply knew her parents would ask questions if they knew.
She did quite like Elisa, though. Obviously, they had been forced proximity, from sharing a dorm to classes to even meals. The two had gotten to know each other well enough to be considered friends, good friends even. They were a long way from best friends, of course, however they did in fact know each other extremely well.
Their parents spoke, and her own parents seemed... excited even. That was most definetly a shock to Violeta. The parents finally stopped asking the children questions and sort of left them to interact in between themselves, so the middle child decided to finally actually speak directly to her dormmate, and well, friend. "Sorry... I just didn't want to deal with them bombarding questions. I know that we're friends, it's not like I've forgotten that." "I could tell you did not take it well, so I just thought I'd justify what I said." her American accent slipped as she spoke and she simply stopped forcing an accent.
