The first potion is done, and soon came the second part of the brewing task.
Second potion, second problem...
Nabi had been thinking of a good choice for their second potion, before this morning, she would have gone with a potion that would aid in strength to carry the apples with ease or if need be, to scare off the caps. However, with the start of the championship, her observations proved her decision for the Burn healing paste to have been the superior option, the dogbreath potion would prove to be useful, the issue was, did she trust that neither Accalia nor the skittish teammate of hers would be able to avoid accidentally harming themselves? No, no she did not. With one being clumsy and the other being rather...brute, the paste may serve as a safety measure. I suppose it would compliment the dogbreath potion perfectly and may even show the judges the critical thinking for our detailed plan.
She was not worried for her teammates' safety, no, she cared about the possibility of them slowing her down if they did get hurt. I need them, even if they are a hassle...a nuisance, an encumbrance. I need them if I want to win. Nabi recalled how her teammate nearly dropped the fire seed and how anxious she seemed, afraid of making a mistake, perhaps questioning her capabilities. What a pity, to have one's mind and fears control oneself instead of the other way around. She then thought of Accalia and her careless habits from unpunctuality to oafishness, There is no saving that one...not even Merlin himself could help her.
She glanced over the ingredients, checking off her mental list, honey...murlap tentacles...crushed seaweed...flobberworm mucus...dittany...good good, everything is here. Nabi glanced over to the skittish girl and spoke to her for what may be the second time throughout the championship thus far, "please add precisely three murlap tentacles to the cauldron, Miss", Let us hope that you do not doubt your counting skills, Miss.
Without another word, she looked over to Accalia who had been doing exercise not too long ago,
"Miss Avalon...please chop the seaweed into small pieces", as long as you stop acting so foolish during this competition, the last thing I need is you causing trouble to the apprehensive one.
Her eyes flickered over to her trepidatious teammate, perhaps she may learn to be less doubtful of herself...
or not.

XXXThe first potion was done brewing, and Eonaria was extremely relieved. As she and her teammates moved on to the second potion, the Burn Healing Paste, she found her hands growing steadier and her mind growing clearer. It seemed that the first part of any challenge would be the hardest- in terms of mindset, not difficulty, of course. The Burn Healing Paste would pair nicely with their first potion, the Dogsbreath Potion. In an endeavor to get past Red Caps, there was bound to be some sort of accident eventually, especially with her tendency to, er, inhale and exhale large amounts of air.
XXXAlthough I suppose that might actually help? More air, more fire. After all, it's measured in number of breaths, not in... quantities of air. At least, I believe that's how it works. Eonaria was surprised when Nabi curtly reminded her to add precisely three tentacles to the cauldron, not used to hearing the independent, calm girl speak.
XXX"Kabukimono." Eonaria supplied quietly, noting that Nabi referred to Accalia by last name. I know the recipe! It's not like I have to add precisely 21 2-inch cuts of Murtlap Tentacles, 6 strained and 15 shredded. This is simple. Eonaria selected three Murtlap Tentacles, doing her best to select ones of nearly exactly the same length. She wasn't sure if too-long or too-short ingredients would affect this potion, but she wasn't about to take any chances. I can't let my group down! That would be... extremely terrible! Ha ha... wait, why am I laughing?
XXXEonaria dropped the Murtlap Tentacles into the fresh cauldron and turned back to wait for Accalia to finish chopping the seaweed. "It seems like you've assigned yourself multiple steps- it's a bit complicated, isn't it?"
XXXShe thought back to the recipe, following each of the steps in her mind. Yes... then my next job would be to pour in the honey... does it need to be completely empty, like scraped out? Or just the contents that will flow? Eonaria decided to just scrape the honey out of the jar to be on the safe side. If it's been prepared into the jar, then it goes into the cauldron. She picked up the jar, nodding to herself.
XXXWait, what does the honey do in a healing paste? Soothing properties? Something to do with... eh, I forgot. Ooh, does this make the potion taste good then? But doesn't Burn Healing Paste go on the burn...? Or would you consume it? Eonaria paused, staring across the hall in contemplation.
