Sweet and impulsive— Julienna's all joy and smiles, especially around friends. She's happy to listen to others talk, enjoying the sounds of their voices, her eyes always gleaming with curiosity no matter what the other person is rambling about; Though, she never really has anything to say, personally.

Her mom always taught her to be polite, and make sure to look presentable, and Julienna expects others to do the same. And she tries, really really hard, but sometimes a mean remark, or two, or three will slip out. She's pretty black and white when it comes to being 'thoroughly pissed off' and 'unbelievably cheerful and bouncy.' Still, Julienna is anxious around people she admires, which leads to her to fidget or simply avoid them. Because of the way she was raised, Julienna can be a little spoiled brat sometimes.

She hates being scolded like a child, but is pretty used to it. Julienna is usually careful, staying in line and doing what she's told, but if she thinks she can get away with something, she'll do it. She follows closely in her mother's footsteps, and in most situations telling herself to just do what she would do. She'd listened to her father rant about 'blood-statuses' as a kid, which she'd just nod along too, but has definitely affected her a little. In any case, she'd be more confident in anyone else's thoughts rather than her own.

Julienna has a talent for songwriting, most of her melodies drawn from her mother's humming that rang through their silent little house or simply the manifestation of the fantastical words on the pages of her storybook. She likes wandering around outside, too, and finds nature to be the epitome of beauty.

Julienna has straight, black hair that falls along the side of her face, until just past her shoulders. Her round face, frames her dark, doe-like eyes and smile— She rarely has a straight face, unless she really focuses. She's currently around 5'1, or 156cm with a lithe but quite unathletic figure. Her ears are not pierced, and she is right-handed.

The young girl has a child-like demeanor, and while she's somewhat graceful, Julienna can't sit still. She swings her legs against the ground or taps on a table, she doesn't really pay attention to her posture and it often ends up reflecting her mood.

She takes care of her appearance, making sure she looks nice and she can't help but glance in a window or some other reflective surface as she walks by. Julienna likes pretty-looking clothes, and prioritizes style over comfort. She tries to wear her school robes only when necessary, and likes keeping her hair down, even if it gets in her face when she's working.

Julienna was born in Scotland, and mostly just raised by her mom, Tao Xiayun. And her father? Well, she never asked him for his name— When he visited, she just called him 'father'. He always traveled around Europe for work-related stuff, only coming around during New Years, and staying for Julienna's birthday before leaving again.

All her life, Julienna was raised and homeschooled by her mom. Their house in Scotland was quite small, but still felt empty. It was just her and mom. Whenever Xiayun would pick up a book from the shelves, a young little Julienna, and she would rush over to climb onto her mom's lap and savour whichever fantasy world this one would drag her into.

Eventually, she was introduced to more hobbies, things to do while bored at home. Reading storybooks, playing piano, sketching magical creatures. Occasionally, she'd walk around the pretty forest outside her house with her mom, following the same path as always and never straying too far. As a carefree child, Julienna never worried about the future, just following the same routine for days, weeks, and months. Any discrepancy in her day to day life (skirt ripped after getting caught in a thorn, drenched after wandering around in a rainstorm) would be swiftly taken care of by Xiayun. Julienna never had to worry.

When Julienna was 8-years-old, they moved to England. So they could be closer to some family on her father's side, and to be closer to her father's work. Their new house was perched atop a hill, surrounded by tall trees. Despite the unfamiliar location, Julienna found herself spending more time outside of the house. Wandering into the woods, along a path where she'd spot pretty flowers or other trinkets she'd show off to her mom (and get scolded for straying too far.)

When she finally received her Hogwarts letter, Julienna didn't want to go at first. Why would she risk her regular life for something like that? And at first, she expected her mother to agree, to let her stay, but Xiayun simply gently convinced Julienna to go, despite both their hesitation.

When Julienna was 8 years old, she was drawing outside in the snow— And waiting for her father to come home for her 9th birthday! Wearing one of her mom's big, fluffy winter clothes, they'd just moved to England. She clutched a big book in her arms, using it as a flat surface to put her parchment on as she drew pictures of the magical creatures she'd read about in storybooks.

As she paused, Julienna blinked as one movement caused her pencil to fall from her side and roll into the soft snow. Down the hill she was sitting on, where their house was, and rolling all the way to the bottom. In the end, she decided to walk all the way down the hill, though the heavy layers of snow. A good bit of her robes were covered in snow and soaking wet, her feet and legs cold as the snow seeped up to her knees.

As she climbed back up and sat back down on the little bench outside her house with her pencil back in her hand, Julienna bowed her head in disappointment as she half-heartedly ran a hand through the now frosty robes that belonged to her mother. Slowly, she felt a sudden, strange warmth seep through her as the ice on her robes fell away— And she watched as a section of bright, summery green grass peaked through the melted snow at her feet.

Maybe father will be excited about this, too!
