After a while on the train, Eulalia finally managed to settle her mind, the ringing of her brother's words disappearing from her mind. She glanced out the window again, her eyes watching the blurred landscape as the Hogwarts Express sped by.

Eulalia figured she was lucky after most of the students had loaded onto the train. Here she was, a whole compartment to herself when other students had been fruitlessly searching for their own place to sit. Even with the compartment door closed, Eulalia could hear the bustle. The muffled sounds of laughter a chatter were prominent on the train, students first to seventh year reuniting or meeting up again after a summer of relaxation. She didn't mind it.

Eulalia actually found comfort in the muffled noises and slight bumping of the train as they made their way to the magical school. The background noise allowed her mind to quiet and the rocking and bumping of the train, in a strange way, reminded her of harsh ocean waves moving her around.

The girl leaned her head back against the seat, taking a deep breath before exhaling slowly, relishing the peace she had in the moment. Eulalia just knew that she wouldn't get a whole train ride alone.

It's huge?!

Even just the bustling atmosphere of the train was enough to get Julienna excited for the days ahead. But this train was bigger than anything she'd been in, in her whole life. Julienna bounced past each compartment, full of faces she's never seen. She couldn't wait to see the big fancy magical school for herself— And to see Scotland again, too— But she couldn't just run around the aisle the whole ride.

Julienna brushes past a few compartments, sparing each a glance to see if it were empty. Most of them were filled with groups of friends, or simply people that looked too old 'n scary. Beyond a few more rooms full of babbling students, one catches her attention. "Mind if I sit here?" She slides the compartment door open, beaming at this new girl, her eyes practically glittering with wonder. Obviously, they've never met before, which meant Julienna had a potential friend. Without waiting for an answer, she plops herself down onto the seat across from the her, before looking the other girl up and down. She's so calm and composed! She thinks to herself, tilting her head as she stares at her. Or just quiet, and boring.

"I'm Julienna," Julienna says suddenly. She smiles, getting comfortable on the plush seat, before gesturing vaguely towards the stranger, indicating for her to reply. "And you?"

The sudden sound of the door opening and a girl's voice rips Eulalia from her newfound peace. "Called it." she thought. Eulalia turned her head to the girl, opening her mouth to respond before the girl made her way in anyway, not bothering to wait for a response. Eulalia quickly shut her mouth. "Okay then." she thought. She might've preferred her peace.

Eulalia was quiet for a moment, watching the girl's actions and behavior, observing her. She had a look of childlike wonder on her face, immediately indicating to Eulalia that this was another first year. One of her classmates. She watched with careful eyes, calculating the girl's every move as she made herself comfortable in the seat across from Eulalia. It was obvious the girl wasn't leaving anytime soon as she introduced herself.

Eulalia waited a second before introducing herself, attempting to determine whether or not Julienna could be a useful friend. "Eulalia Vasilios. Pureblood." she said after a moment, deciding that Julienna's charismatic nature could be good for her. "Pleasure." she said, her voice slightly steely, yet not rude.

Eulalia kept her cards close to her chest, still undecided about whether or not she could completely trust Julienna. She didn't want to blindly trust anyone and have anything go downhill, especially within the first few hours. Her parents would not be too happy with her.

As the exhilaration of getting on the train for the first time slowly faded, she found herself rather curious about this stranger. And Julienna would pay close attention to her honey-smooth voice as she made sure to remember her name, just in case they met again someday. "Nice to meet you, too, Eulalia," Eulalia Vasilios. Julienna was just glad to have someone she could recognizable, for now.

She didn't seem to mind the somewhat colder tone— a few cordial words were enough, either way. Julienna's smile doesn't falter one bit. But she did notice that, compared to the subdued sounds of the lively compartments full of babbling students around them, Eulalia didn't seem at all interested in talking.

In fact, she looked like she somehow enjoyed sitting in silence. Maybe she's just thinking about something. Careful, if you think too hard, you might hurt your head. "Y'know, you always look like you're reaally focused," Julienna says, a tint of playful derision colouring her vibrant voice.

"Are you not excited?" She insists. Despite her tone, that warm grin was painted across her face once again.

Julienna was already basking in the train's bubbling ambience, so she just couldn't wait until the moment they'd actually arrived at the school. All that stuff that she could do, all of the people she could meet— She'd probably never get bored there.

Eulalia watched as Julienna seemed completely unbothered by her colder tone, the smile never wavering. She tilted her head slightly at the girl, narrowing her eyes ever so slightly. She was skeptical. Was every other eleven or twelve-year-old in her year this wide-eyed and excited? If that were the case, they were all in for an awakening.

She looked away from the girl again, staring at the blurred landscape as the train sped along the tracks. Julienna interrupted the silence once more, stating playfully that she supposedly always looked focused. Eulalia looked back at Julienna, resisting the urge to roll her eyes.

Of course she was focused! She was sitting there on the train for a reason. To make her family proud. To show the world that she was a Vasilios for a reason. Her family's reputation was on the line. She had things to prove! She was not going to let her family down. She was not willing to risk that.

"How would you know if I always looked focused?" she then replied impassively, "we've only just met."

She then listened as Julienna then insisted she must be excited, another grin stretched across her face. Eulalia thought for a moment. "I have no reason to be excited. I've grown up with magic. None of this is new to me." She said, speaking the truth. There was no real reason for excitement. Unlike other students who looked nearly stupid as they were awed by everything even remotely impressive, Eulalia was rather indifferent. Growing up around magic meant being used to objects levitating, seeing pictures moving, cups filling on their own, enchanted staircases, and so much more.

"However you seem rather... ebullient." she said, unable to develop a better word that suited just how much excitement was radiating off of Julienna.

"I guess that's true. Then, are you saying you're usually more lively or something? 'Cause I can't see it at all," Julienna quips, her oh-so observant eyes once again looking over Eulalia. In her head she'd try to picture the girl all eager and wide-eyed, like the type of person who'd stop to smell the roses. Yeah, definitely not. But she'd give her the benefit of the doubt for now.

"Well, I'm not just talking about magic—" Julienna was about to cut in, but she bites her tongue and lets Eulalia continue. "None of this is new to me."

Jeez, she sounds pretty stuck-up. Still, even someone like Julienna was smart enough to hold back even as the thought crossed her mind. Instead she just crosses her arms, though she was a little uneasy at how indifferent Eulalia was. She sits back with less elation than before. In fact, she seems almost calm, now. "It's just, you're leaving home to go somewhere new right? New people, and all that. There's gotta be something worth being excited 'bout, right?"

Almost. With Eulalia's comment on her excitement, Julienna perks up again with a look of childish glee. She's not even sure what the girl means, really. But to her it was enough like a compliment. "Thanks!"

The feeling of the train bumping along helped a lot to make the compartment they shared less awkward; At least, that's what Julienna felt. She relaxes back into her seat again, straightens her clothes, and looks right down into Eulalia's eyes again. "So, uh, is there anything at Hogwarts you're looking forward to at all?" She says after a moment of silence, her head cocked to the side inquisitively. Her voice is mellow, eyes bright and curious.

Eulalia raised an eyebrow at Julienna's words, considering them for a moment. Leaving home to attend Hogwarts was nothing but a series of tests she was about to undergo for her parents, and she didn't even want to get started on people.

Eulalia watched the girl as she began to calm down before she heard her previous words about her excited nature. She fought the urge to roll her eyes. She hadn't meant her words as a compliment, but there was no use in attempting to diminish the spark that was easily lit into her eyes.

Eulalia watched as Julianna straightened her clothing, relaxing into her seat. The curious glint in her eyes was still present, and she fought back her urge to groan as Julienna asked her if she was looking forward to anything.

"I suppose getting sorted." she said after a pause, "I know I'll be Slytherin, but it'll be nice to hear a confirmation." she spoke.

All her family had been Slytherin, well, at least the ones who carried the Vasilios name and who hadn't been married into the family. Her brother was a Slytherin, as was her father. Her mother, on the other hand, had been a Ravenclaw, but her wit, clever mind, and cunning nature made it easy for her to blend with a Slytherin crowd.

Eulalia's eyes did a sweep of Julienna's figure, taking in her body language, facial expressions, and the childish spark of wonder and curiosity she seemed to always hold. "I think you'll end up a Hufflepuff or Gryffindor." she spoke.
