xxxxx It was the second of December when the great Siberian owl knocked on his window at his office in Durmstrang Institute. Albrecht had just arrived, having been occupied elsewhere on the subject of the necessity of healers examining the magical health of the students after the trauma they had experienced only two months ago. He had come into his office to owl a personal healer friend of his to inquire the best way of addressing such trauma in the students, when he was shocked to see the beautiful bird waiting for him. He opened the window and received the letter. He recognised the seal and wondered as to why anyone from Koldovstoretz would owl him in such a way. He opened the letter written in vellum, and read through with a strange thrill of adrenaline. It was a strangely veiled offer from Korotkin, the new director of Koldovstoretz. He was familiar with Yegor Korotkin from his ambassador days, as Albrecht was a part of the intelligence force of magical Germany, though not many knew such. His genuine desire to interact with non-human magical beings, was a great cover for more under cover sides of humanity, if one could pardon the euphemism. There was likely to be betrayal in the future, but an alliance between the two eastern schools was likely beneficial either way. Albrecht took out a fresh sheet of rich parchment, with the emblem of Durmstrang pictured upon it, and he wrote the following letter, sealing it not with the emblem of the school, but his own seal, which if Korotkin was truly an intelligence agent as some suspected might recognise as the name he went by during his career as a spy. The letter would be written in perfect Cyrillic as the other should have expected as Durmstrang’s official language was Russian. Albrecht considered if the language of the owl was a power play, but dismissed it presently. It was more likely that Korotkin just was unfamiliar with Durmstrang’s official language due to the secrecy of it all.
