Hag Crisis in Schools Revealed
| ===================== ---The rumours of hag covens invading the schools look to be true as wizarding schools across the globe suddenly introduce "health checks". Introduced from 28th October 2024, every student was forced to undergo one of these checks. Here at the Daily Prophet, we have reason to believe that these checks are not standard medical procedures but rather, checking for the spread of hag slugs. Hjørdis Jensen, Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts, denied these accusations, stating once more that they were health checks and nothing more claiming that there were no known cases of hag infestation at present. She stated, "These health checks are there to ensure the safety of each student, both physically and mentally and if they have any curable ailments then they receive appropriate treatment. After the recent tragedy, we cannot be too careful - our students are mourning, after all. Though, if we do find these aforementioned hag slugs and can remove them before they cause an issue, isn't that good?" These checks were introduced following the horrific incident on October 14th, where many lives were lost. The visiting schools also affected by that incident - Tenūsa, Beauxbatons, Uagadou, Ilvermorny, Durmstrang, Koldovstoretz, Castelobruxo and Mahoutokoro - have all introduced these so-called checks on their return too. Koldovstoretz has announced the appointment of a new Director of the school, replacing Natasha Pavlova, Yegor Korotkin. On the subject, he agreed with this decision, claiming that “Whilst enquiries are ongoing about the recent attack on the British Ministry’s watch in Hogsmeade, Koldovstoretz and Russia mourns her dead. We are acting alongside our international partners to ensure this does not happen again, and that the safety of our students and staff never again fall to the wayside. It is for this reason, we will be introducing a mandatory health-check and evaluation on all students and staff moving forward.” The new Headmistress of Uagadou, Évodie Ndoto Masudi, confirmed occurrences happening within her school, stating that "To be frank, these checks should have been performed after the first confirmed occurrence, and I am greatly disappointed in our institutions for failing to take appropriate precautions. I formally apologize to the students of Uagadou and their families for action not being taken sooner to ensure their safety, and I hope they can rest assured knowing that I am fully committed to cutting off the problem at its roots." We are unable to get in touch with Omolara Osoba and Moses Passaris, the former co-headmasters of the school, due to their injuries but it is believed that they had a hand in covering these incidents up. Emery Albrecht, the recently appointed Headmaster of Durmstrang - who has replaced Marishka Shtriga, one of the lives lost that night - clarified that they were specifically checking for slugs too, "Perhaps it is a sign of weakness in our students that we were not able to stop the spread of the slug." Though, it may be an intentional act on Durmstrang's part in line with the school's survival week strategy, "However, I am of the opinion that it created much entertainment for myself as well as opportunities for the students to test themselves. Far too similar to be merely a coincidence. With Lazarus Plott presumed dead, Ilvermorny's new Headmaster Fabian Fleischer revealed that these checks have nothing to do with the incident and that they should have been introduced before regardless: "We should have been doing these checks far earlier. The majority of my students were sensible enough to avoid entangling themselves, but I cannot say the same for others. This has been a danger to our students since day one and these slugs should have been eradicated when they first reared their ugly heads. I am glad to see that happening now, though in my opinion, it has come far too late, from all of us. I'm glad we're getting this done, hopefully, it will help our students to feel more safe." Aiko Mori, who has taken the mantle as lead of Mahoutokoro as Sato Yura is still presumed dead, confirmed that the hag crisis is now officially over, “I’m glad that the problem has been resolved. Thank you to those great minds who solved it and can now turn those minds to other problems.” We were unable to get in touch with Farron Horne, who took up the role of interim master of Tenūsa after Grand Seer Denbeigh lost his life. It appears that Horne rapidly left this new role - and the school - after the recent tragedy. Rather strange given that she only joined the school the month prior. Shortest tenured Dukun, who is believed to have been employed at Hogwarts shortly after the Hag Coven wound up dead in Hogsmeade. These threats all seemed to be timed rather inconveniently - or perhaps, intentionally? It is coincidental timing, if nothing else, that all of these incidents seemed to start occurring following these schools' inclusion initiatives. Half-breeds were allowed into the schools and suddenly, many people are injured, lives were lost and the schools are dealing with a hag crisis. It has been said that "Once is happenstance. Aurors are attempting to piece together the causes and consequences of the attack, but they have been left with more questions than answers. The exact sequence of events remains unclear, and uncertainty hangs heavily over the fates of two headmasters—missing since the day of the explosions: Lazarus Plott the Headmaster of Ilvermorny and Sato Yura the Headmistress of Mahoutokoro. Speculation abounds: were they victims, or could they have been complicit in this act of terror? The lack of answers has only deepened the shadow cast by the calamity. Auror August VanCleaf leads the investigation and has told the Daily Prophet in an exclusive interview that he has found incontrovertible evidence that SCAR was behind the attacks. SCAR, a well-known terrorist organization comprised primarily of squibs, half-breeds and magical creatures has been credited with several terrorist events, multiple violent demonstrations and a dangerous rhetoric that encourages violence to subjugate the wizards in Britain and abroad. SCAR has a known branch in Hogsmeade, members of SCAR have been brought in for questioning and they are being held without bond. Potter was tried and convicted for the murder of Dolores Umbridge, a former associate of the dark wizard Lord Voldemort. Tried and convicted, Dolores served her time in Azkaban and was considered a model prisoner. She was released and murdered several weeks after her release by Potter. Potter claims his evidence to this day but has not been able to supply the Ministry with his wand, either hidden or destroyed after the incident to prevent authorities from verifying his claim. | In Hogsmeade, the death toll was initially reported as 33. This total has risen to a harrowing 79, as several individuals succumbed to their injuries during treatment at St. Mungo’s Hospital. Among them were students, professors, and even residents of Hogsmeade, their lives extinguished in what should have been an ordinary day of commerce and camaraderie in the magical village. The students had traveled from their respective schools for an event being hosted by Hogwarts and despite efforts to ensure the safety and security of the student body, an act of terror has claimed so many lives. The impact of this loss stretches far beyond the United Kingdom, as families from schools around the globe prepare to mourn their children in memorial services scheduled for next week in their respective countries.

The Aurors have uncovered unsettling clues at the scene, including signs of magical tampering with the carriages and the unexpected discovery of thick, ancient roots beneath the blast site. Whether these roots are connected to the explosions or serve as evidence of an unrelated magical phenomenon is still being determined.

The Aurors are also investigating whether the missing headmasters played any role in orchestrating or preventing the attack. However, members of the wizarding world are divided, believing it is most likely that SCAR was behind this attack, questioning the decision of the international magic community to allow half-breeds to attends wizarding schools around the world.

The dead will be honored in their home countries, with ceremonies planned to reflect the cultural traditions of each school. Students, faculty, and families will gather to remember the lives lost, ensuring their names and contributions are not forgotten.

The recent tragic events in Hogsmeade have cast a long shadow over the lives of many innocents, and we, SCAR, unequivocally condemn this senseless act of violence. While the wizarding world often seeks a scapegoat among the disenfranchised and voiceless, let it be clear: SCAR did not orchestrate or condone this attack on innocent children and civilians.
We are deeply saddened to learn that many of the injured and deceased in Hogsmeade were half-breeds and that many half-breeds are still being treated in St. Mungos. Due to the high mortality rates in St. Mungos in the wake of this tragic event due to the options of magic and potions, we question the competence in St. Mungos staff and believe that the care these victims has received is inadequate and does not maintain the medical standard that would have been afforded to wizards. SCAR feels that this attack specifically targeted half-breeds in an attempt to cull our numbers, silence our people and to deincentivize seeking the education we have every right to. Sentient magical beings have historically shared in the oppression and marginalization that SCAR was created to address. The victims of this senseless act represent the very people we strive to uplift and protect.
It is not lost on us that the wizarding world, with its entrenched systems of inequality, has created fertile ground for despair and rebellion. For centuries, those denied the full rights and dignity of magical society have been forced into the margins, their contributions ignored, their struggles dismissed and their lives marked by a lifetime of subjugation defined by prejudice and disparate treatment. While some might argue that acts like this are a deserved reckoning for the injustices of the past, SCAR rejects such nihilism. Change cannot come from acts that destroy the lives of innocents, including those who share in our plight.
To those in power, who may use this tragedy to justify further oppression: take heed. The seeds of rebellion are not sown by those seeking justice, but by the enduring indifference and cruelty of those who hold power. If you wish to prevent such horrors in the future, look not to blame SCAR but to reform the very systems that perpetuate division and inequity. As fellow magical beings, our children deserve the same rights in terms of education, ownership of wands, to earn an equitable wage in a vocation of our choice and to have a voice in the affairs of magical society as peers.
To the victims, their families, and those who continue to face oppression, SCAR stands with you. Let us honor the lives affected not with further division, but with renewed commitment to a fair and just magical society.

The horrifying attack on the students visiting Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is yet another grim reminder of the dangers posed by radical organizations like SCAR. While SCAR may deny involvement, their rhetoric of division and rebellion has undoubtedly inspired and emboldened those who would resort to violence against the very institutions that sustain and define our world. SCAR's reckless branding of half-breeds and other non-wizard creatures as equal to wizards and historically repressed by magical society has created a divisiveness in the magical community, fed into extremism and compelled the most unstable among them to lash out.
It is my belief that SCAR had a direct hand in this attack, that they helped orchestrate this attack and that they are now reaping the benefits of this tragedy. Let us not be misled by their calculated denials. SCAR has long positioned itself as an enemy of order, a victim of our systems and traditions and they have been credited with several other violent incidents over the past decade. This is no different, SCAR is a force that preys upon the frustrations of society's self-proclaimed outcasts to further its anarchist agenda. Their so-called "advocacy" for squibs, half-breeds, and creatures is nothing more than a guise for their true goal: the dismantling of magical society as we know it.
The attack in Hogsmeade may included newly-enrolled half-breeds but our attack also targeted wizards, some of which being esteemed members of the magical community. Let us also not forget the countless young true-wizards and their educators who were subjected to the terror of this day, the true-wizards that still lay injured in St. Mungos and the true-wizards that have died as a direct result of this attack; their blood status and background irrelevant. It will take a generation for wizarding society to recover from the disasters SCAR has wrought on their psyche and their bloodlines if they had the fortune to escape that day physically intact. The idea that SCAR would suddenly lament the harm of half-breeds when their movement thrives on chaos and discord is laughable and their claims that they were targeted serves as nothing more than a distraction from the truth. The injuries to their own were collateral damage in SCAR’s unrelenting war on wizarding culture.
Now is the time for unity among wizardkind. We must not allow fear or sympathy to cloud our judgment. The Ministry of Magic must take decisive action against SCAR and its affiliates, rooting out these dangerous elements before they can strike again. It is time to take back our traditions and ideals, every step we take in their favor is merely another step we take towards our own destruction and subjugation by our lessers.
To those who would use this moment to criticize the traditions and structures of pureblood society, I ask: where was SCAR’s voice when the foundations of our world were built on generations of order and prosperity? Do not let their crocodile tears distract you from their ultimate goal: the destruction of the very fabric of magical society.
The time for leniency is over. SCAR and those they represent must be held accountable, and wizardkind must stand united against the forces of evil that would see us fall. I am making a call to action: wizards, it is time to push non-wizards far from society while there is still a society to protect.
