Group Six: Tricks, Treats and Tales
@Iris Athanasiuo, @Nico Romano, @Aston Beckett, @Astra Norrick, @Scout Fu-Hai
This is a group thread for the errand, Tricks, Treats and Tales. Feel free to reference the errand page for any information, and feel free to owl me if you have any questions.
It was the 30th of October, and all throughout the grounds, small fire pits sent smoke into the crisp autumn air. Each pit would have a small group of four to six students that got to socialise, have sweets, make s'mores, tell scary stories... really, whatever their hearts desired. If some of them came wearing a scary costume and others came wearing a bedsheet to be a ghost, the better for them.
Ingredients for s'mores (graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolates and skewers) were laid on a small table at each fire pit. Small logs provided seating for the students, larger logs for the older students and smaller logs for the younger ones. Multicoloured leaves, the warm shades of which could be seen in the firelight, dapped the floor with colours almost like a rug. The point of it all was to be cosy, to be fun, and perhaps a night full of colours and giggles and firelight would get the job done.
To ensure everyone remained safe, and if they did burn themselves, to provide a quick healing spell, Koko, a seventh-year prefect, stood off to the side in the shadows. She was not particularly well-hidden: her light-coloured hair reflected the light easily, making it so that even as she tried not to be a distraction from the event, if she was needed, she could be swiftly located. A silver mackerel tabby sat at her feet, content with the general atmosphere around him. She could only hope that the students would enjoy this, too.
OOC: What to do.
Write at least one post of your character being present at the event. Hopefully, they are enjoying things, but some teenagers are moody.
Your total word count (all posts combined) must be at least 600 words, but you can absolutely write more than one post, or more than 600 words. Please do remember to write at least 200 words per post per site rules!
Upon completion of your 600 posts, please provide your total word count and link your thread your sign-up post in the errand thread here.
Once again, I hope you have fun! Feel free to owl me if you have any questions at all.

The night flickered with youthful energy and firelight, logs popping and crackling as flames catalyzed the wood of ten bonfires on the edge of the school grounds. Innocent, entertaining. Just a couple kids hanging out by the fire, swapping their most chilling tales, stuffing their faces with half-burned marshmallows and still-cold chocolate bars on graham crackers just days away from going stale. It couldn't be so innocent, nothing ever was. Objective and rational realization of risk was not to stop the gathering, though, nor her own attendance. Astra seemed to always gravitate to fire.
An incident in the final stretch of last year left Hermes on thin ice around the forest, and the feline knew it well. He pressed uncharacteristically close to the snakelet. And while on one hand it was significantly less stressful to be scouring the landscape for him every moment or attempting to hold him and remain unscathed, she was not keen at all on the constant trip hazard he posed as he wound round her ankles.
A fire near the edge beckoned her, and she hopped over to it, lifting her feet high over Hermes', careful not to trip as she approached the pit. A quick survey of the s'mores table had her contemplating making one. There were no students here, all diffusing to other, more populated fire pits in different corners of the clearing. Astra was content to watch as she took a seat on a suitable log, and Hermes content to fuse his personal space totally to hers by sitting primly on her sneakers.

Aston has been looking forward to this day for a while, this would be his second Halloween at school, but the first one he did anything for. Even back at home he never did much for the holiday, just staying at home watching Halloween movies and eating s'mores. It's not like there is anywhere to trick or treat when you live in the middle of nowhere, far away from people. Aston unfortunately didn't prepare a costume, instead just wearing a pair of jeans and a plain hoodie he owned. Picking up the latest fantasy book he's reading he headed off to the field. Is it weird to read muggle fantasy books as an actual wizard? I'd have to talk to my dad about it sometime. Right before Aston left he had the idea to bring Rosales, the ferret would certainly enjoy sometime outside near the warm fires.
As he arrived at the field he was faced with many fire pits, most already with groups near them. Aston decided to head to one of the ones near the edge, with only an unfamiliar girl sitting near it. As he headed off to that fire pit Aston was greeted by the sight with many ingredients for s'mores, a preparation Aston is excited to put to use. He put Rosales down on one of the logs then went to get a skewer and marshmallow, getting started on the s'more. "Happy Halloween! Are you gonna make some s'mores too?" Aston smiled as he talked, showing his enjoyment of the holiday. Even though he doesn't exactly celebrate many holidays Halloween is one of his favourites. Aston loved carving pumpkins with his parents, something he probably won't get to do much anymore. I should send a letter to my dad later, see how he's doing.

Astra glanced over at the newcomer, head cocked slightly to the side for the angle. He looked about her age she figured, certainly not older and despite his bright and cheery countenance she didn't think he was part of the new year. "Happy Halloween," she said with a small smile.
The boy had also brought a creature with him, a ferret. Astra hadn't seen many students with that sort of pet before, though she did remember something about Mahl's bunny having a run-in with one of the long rodents. Hermes, too, noted the animal with some intrigue, dark tip of his fluffy gray tail twitching. He chirped at the fellow mammal. Hopefully it was a welcoming sort of chirp, Astra didn't want to have to break up a fight between cat and ferret. That'd likely not go well in the slightest. It'd certainly be an interesting fight, but not in the usual positive sense Astra used the word.
"S'mores don't seem right when there's still light outside," she commented with a shrug. She propped her head up on her fist as her eyes followed the boy's movements languidly. Her other hand petted Hermes on the head, for which he was very thankful judging by his purrs. "You a fan of Halloween? Scary stories?" The gleam in her eye might betray her intention, but if the boy was game to hear, she was game to tell.
