Beloved positivity spreaders!
Get ready to make some treasures that will protect your friends from all that haunts them! See you there this coming weekend!
Since the letter went out, Emily had been writing numerous letters to "Auntie" asking her if she could box up and deliver art and craft supplies and building sets so she could use them for her next club activity. Her Sanctuary Tree idea seemed to fall short so this next one would be the redemption of a club leader trying to live up to the hard work Inara put into it... Ideally.

She had been running laps along the corridor, fetching these boxes containing pom-poms, felt tip pens, sheets of glittered and calligraphed paper, stickers, quills, ink, string, ribbons, feathers, chimes and stained glass accessories; all the way from her room back in Badger Bungalow right up to the empty classroom where she would be hosting the activity. She could feel the protection stones she carried on her person jostle in her pocket as she traversed between the first and second floors of the castle.

It was these very stones that inspired this next meeting. While just stones in anyone else's eyes, they were in fact little gems of reassurance in the face of all the stress and worry Emily would have to face in life. Her tarot cards provided the guidance but it was the stones that helped protect her, heal her and lend her small bursts of strength. While not magical they were essential for Emily to develop her own sense of inner strength, beauty and mindfulness.

Though it only occurred to her recently that not everyone had something they could hold on to, should they not have a shoulder to lean on. So the task seemed simple enough for a club like Little Acts of Kindness to take on. All the club members had a creative bone in their body, and it wasn't like Emily had oceans and oceans of stones to hand out to people across the school. Instead, they would make their own protective items, which they would deliver anonymously or personally (depending on their choice) to someone else in the school. They could be decorative mobiles, special seals, stone carvings, anything! So long as they were made with the intentions of safeguarding and looking out for people that needed something to protect them.

Emily set aside most of the materials so far. She still had to down and fetch the stone slabs and carving knives if anyone was looking to get fancy with their art. At least three tables worth of materials were laid out at the back of the room, with more spread out to allow space for the club members to come in and get cracking once they arrived. She set her belongings on a chair in the corner where she would be doing hers, a collection of string, a suede loop, some glue, feathers and a few sparklies alongside them. She planned to make a dream catcher for the one person she felt deserved it; Scout. With her down-in-the-dumps demeanour and after all they talked about the other day, she was finally settled on making her something that would hope chase away whatever was eating her alive. Actions speak louder than words, as it were.

She disappeared out of the room again, though not before leaving a note behind her in case some of the club members arrived without her being there.
Hi guys! I just need to grab a few things! Feel free to come in and get started without me!

𝕽uth popped her head into the classroom, looking around. All she was met with was tables stacked with craft materials. Wow,Ruth thought to herself as she walked closer. Emily really outdid herself. She admired her senior quite a bit, especially heaving all these from the Hufflepuff rooms. Ruth couldn’t imagine how many times Emily had to repeat the process of transferring everything over.

Speaking of Emily, she was nowhere in sight. Ruth looked around one last time, scanning the room. It seemed like she really was alone in the classroom, and the note she spotted propped onto one of the craft boxes further backed it up. Ruth rolled up her sleeves and her neck, bending down to take in all the crafts available. It wouldn’t hurt to begin earlier than the others, would it? Emily had encouraged so, and Ruth was eager to take the opportunity to get her hands on what was available first.

Who should she make it to, though? Ruth didn’t know. Perhaps a random person in the corridor, or when she takes her usual walks around the school grounds. Everyone needs support after all. She grinned at the idea of walking up to someone and handing them a gift, claiming it to be a protection charm. She was sure it would confuse them quite some bit, but it was certain that they would warm up to it!

Ruth squeezed a pom-pom in her hand, a delicate orange ball that reminded her of a ball of yarn. Perhaps a small soft figurine could do, with googly eyes and string legs and arms. A goofy smile too, maybeRuth thought to herself as she got to work sticking the eyes onto the pom-pom. She then proceeded to poke a hole through the ball. She tucked two strings in; one for the arms, another for the legs, before proceeding to poke a hole through four more smaller pom-poms for the hands and shoes. She jiggled it after completion, laughing at the way it danced upon movement.

And now for the finishing touch,”Ruth exclaimed aloud, sticking on a silly grin and furrowed eyebrows pointing downwards. A protective, charming and brave pom-pom. She stared at it for a while, happy with her work, but still slightly unsatisfied. Something felt missing.

Quickly, Ruth wrote her own note on a tiny piece of paper. Whoever this belongs to, Mr Pom, the fantastic, charming and courageous pom-pom, will protect you and be with you through the thick and the thin. Keep him safe, and he will keep you safe too. She beamed at the final result, then skipped out of the room to find her targe person.

Emily stepped carefully back down the stairs with the last box of arts and crafts, her face just barely peeking over the edge as she made her descent down back to the first floor. Every footstep felt like an anxious step down as she balanced the heavy box in her arms. She grimaced before releasing a sigh of relief she didn't realising she had been keeping in as soon as she stepped off the stairs, now back on flat ground.

She pushed the door to the club room open with her back and let out a little "Oh!" as her eyes fell on the younger student that was also present in the room. The familiar badger house colours and face sparked Emily's memory and she smiled at the young student.

"Ah! You must be Ruth!" she grinned. "Glad to see you've gotten started. Sorry I couldn't start with you...!" She huffed as she set the box down along with the rest of the materials she laid out earlier before massaging her tired arms. She couldn't see any of the other club members which was... A bit of a shame. Alas, one member was better than none at all!

"So! What are we working on?" she asked as she took a peek at Ruth's work. Her eyes raked over the poofy creation Ruth had made. It felt very reminiscent of some of the things Emily used to make when she was younger. There was a sweet sense of nostalgia as she looked at it. She smiled warmly.

"He looks adorable," she said. "I'm sure whoever you give this to will absolutely love it!"

She gave Ruth a proud pat on the back before heading over to the art materials, flexing her fingers. In the meantime Ruth had left the room to no doubt deliver her fuzzy buddy to her own buddy.

"I suppose I better start cracking myself!"
