Physical Description: Karlie is a tall, slender girl of around 4"11. She maintains a healthy complexion with glowing blue eyes due to a vitamin-rich diet of whole foods. She had shoulder-length dark brown hair that is naturally straight and thick. Her teeth are straight and her nails healthy. She walks with her shoulders back and chin jutted upwards and has a natural resting frown. On her left wrist, she wears two handmade leather bracelets, both a dark shade of brown.

Mental Description: Karlie is a determined and ambitious girl with a thirst to become academically successful. She has a very serious nature, does not have a great sense of humour, and does find it difficult interacting with peers and making new friends. She can appear quite bossy and snappy sometimes, yet she does not mean to come across as rude; she is self-aware and wants to try and appear friendlier. However, for those she does have a good relationship with, she is helpful, loyal and can be protective. Karlie does look after her appearance, and whilst not vain, can appreciate that 'if you look good, you feel good'.

Biography: From the moment Karlie was born on the 30th September 2012, she was raised in Grantchester, a quiet and picturesque village just outside of Cambridge. Her home life was happy, comfortable, and filled with magical whimsy and charm thanks to her Wizard-born parents. Both intelligent and hard-working, her parents both attended Hogwarts as Ravenclaws and were able to provide a life where their children recieved what they asked for, so long as they showed grace and did not show signs of greed.

Karlie's father, Edward Keys, worked in the Department of Magical Transportation at the Ministry of Magic, whilst Catherine, her mother (with a penchant for household charms), was a homemaker and tutor, offering lessons to young witches and wizards in the local community. Karlie also lived with her younger sister, Lydia, who was outdoorsy and far more outgoing than herself, yet the two shared a deep bond.

Her mother's passion for education and magical theory influenced Karlie from a young age, filling their home with books and creative learning activities. As such, Karlie preferred the company of authors rather than girls her own age, and found it difficult interacting with other children. She did have a couple of friends who shared the same desire for academic success, and most playdates consisted of poring over texts together sat on the bank of the River Cam.

When she recieved the invitation to Hogwarts, Karlie was determined to show her parents and peers how successful she would be, yet she soon started to doubt her potential abilities with the weight of expectation she had placed on herself. As she mentally prepared herself to leave, however, she managed to quell the persistent voice in her head that instructed her to excel in everything academic, and shifted her focus into trying to improve her social confidence.

First Instance of Magic: When Karlie was seven, she had her first brush with accidental magic during a particularly frustrating day. While trying to read a difficult book on magical theory, she grew overwhelmed and angry after failing to understand a complicated passage. In a burst of frustration, Karlie slammed the book shut, and without warning, every other book on the shelf flew into the air, swirling around the room in a chaotic dance. Startled and terrified, Karlie froze as her room was caught in the whirlwind of floating books. Her parents rushed in, drawn by the noise, and quickly reassured her that accidental magic was common when emotions ran high. While her father found humor in the situation, her mother calmly reminded Karlie that strong feelings could lead to unexpected magic. The incident left Karlie both fascinated and wary.
