BACKGROUND
Angélique Dupont was born in the Bretagne region of France to a wizard family on November 1st. She had an average childhood, albeit a lonely one, as her parents worked often and she had no siblings. She lived outside of town, close to the countryside, and often explored the fields behind her house with her neighbour's older daughter, Juliette. A month after her sixth birthday, she and her parents immigrated to Ireland in the hopes of finding better employment opportunities. They stayed in Dublin for a time but settled in Ballycastle, where her mother opened a small cafe in town. Her father became a local builder and did the cafe's repairs on the weekend.

To earn an odd Galleon, Angélique would do the dishes on the weekends and school holidays for pocket money. Learning English was not difficult for her because of her age when she immigrated. However, as time passed, she slowly lost some of her French, most notably the basic grammar and complicated vocabulary. Because of this, she has no French accent, unlike her parents, but she tends to get French and Irish sayings mixed up. Ireland in her home now though, and being raised in Ballycastle, she has become a massive fan of the local Quidditch team, the Ballycastle Bats, much to the disappointment of her parents, who are fans of their old local Quiberon Quafflepunchers instead.

PERSONALITY
She loves a good book but isn't a big fan of studying. Even though she loves a quiet night in, she prefers being outdoors and putting theory to practice. However, she's quick to panic in dangerous situations, a result of her general nervousness, so going too far outside the school grounds can be quite hazardous. She prefers a few close friends over a large group of acquaintances, and people describe her as quiet and polite, but her close friends know her as a chatterbox and a jokester.

FIRST INSTANCE OF MAGIC

Simply enough, while doing dishes at her mother’s cafe, she accidentally dropped a tray of dishes. She watched the teacups and saucers break and scatter across the kitchen floor and shut her eyes when it made a crash. When she opened them, the dishes were dried and polished, but most importantly, intact and without so much as a crack, stacked neatly on the tray back in her hands.

CHESTNUT WOOD

A most curious, multi-faceted wood, which varied greatly in its character depending on the wand core, and took a great deal of colour from the personality that possessed it. The wand of chestnut was attracted to witches and wizards who were skilled tamers of magical beasts, those who possessed great gifts in Herbology, and those who were natural fliers.

Powerful and highly prized for its flair for transfiguration. Difficult to master, and in the presence of danger, they are known to fire curses. The ideal thunderbird wand owner is brave and persistent, favouring fighting spirit and competitiveness, be it in sports, card games or academic studies.

Standing at 4'8" and weighing 81lbs, Angélique can be described as being at the average build and height for an 11 year old girl, if not slightly on the taller side. Her light blue eyes have a softness to them, not like an icy landscape, but calm Summer waters. She has small brown beauty marks loosely scattered along her arms, legs, body, and face, like a little constellation only noticed if someone were to look for them. Her wavy brunette hair is kept just below her shoulders, either kept naturally or styled into a pony tail.

She holds herself with the quiet confidence only a child without siblings could have - a gentle warmth and assurance when alone, but a nervous and unsure composure when with others. However, her hands, which are kept impressively gnawed on from a bad nail biting habit, are expressive when she talks, often punctuating her nervous yammering. One could even say that she dresses like her hands. Expressive colours on a comfortable and shy canvas, opting for lumpy jumpers and denim skirts or jeans with black boots, save for some eclectic jewellery and homemade scarves.
