The day was the 24th of September of 2024. Tuesday. 24/24. thought the young Slytherin. She wore her usual Slytherin uniform, which she wore every day to class, and today she chose to style her hair in two little ponytails and just tie a white ribbon around the two of them. Technically, her comb of vanity which her older sister had given her as a present did those. She was a little too tired to do those on her own. She had considered wearing her magical barrettes today to hide her bangs, but she figured she would just do that on Wednesday, the next day. Simple enough, but she liked the hairstyle. No one would ever catch the girl on a bad hair day, frankly because she was a firm believer that those didn't exist. Not to her, after all.

As she walked over to History Of Magic, the most boring class ever, she couldn't help but wonder if she could fall asleep with her eyes open, so no one could catch her in act, and she could get some much needed sleep. This class was the reason why she was so sleepy. It was just so freaking boring. And she wasn't the only one who thought this. Everyone. From first years to seventh years, they all thought this class was the most boring thing in the whole universe.

The truth was, she did kind of like History, sort of. She liked the interesting parts, some action, and not the dates you had to remember. They were quite pointless. If she wanted to be an inventress, why did those even matter here? Or anywhere.

She sat next to a Slytherin, though she couldn't figure out if they were a boy or girl. It wasn't worth asking though. She took out her journal, grabbed a pen and started sketching another one of her inventions, at least this way, she made a use of this stupid class.

The girl was starting to think it would be a good idea to fake being sick to get the heck out of there or maybe just jump out of the window. That was when the person sitting right beside her read her mind. She dropped the pen and looked at them, stared blankly for a second or two and then, a grin appeared on her her rosy-red lips."You just read my mind. Are you like a mind-reader of some sort or...?" she said, her American accent sharp as ever. "I'll save the pleasantries, Violeta Roux." she said, extending her hand.

She was still sketching, while they spoke, and then she finally looked up and grinned. "Yeah, you are so talented." she said sarcastically, and then let out a little laugh. "Hey, I don't usually say this, but I like you." she never said that to anyone, but whoever this person was, was someone that Violeta, out of all odds liked. And she was hard to please, because the truth was she hated people.

"I think so. I mean, do you know how to swim? 'Cause that's all you need to do." "Just dive and swim, and don't drown." she said, her American accent slipping in. She had lived in England for a while, but hey, she was still an American, after all. Though she never really talked much, she wasn't the talkative type, in fact, she hated the talkative type, it annoyed her when people talked too much, even when she was a kid, she was the quiet kind.

"Cass Ito..." she repeated. "Nice to meet you, fellow history of magic hater." she said jokingly, though it was true, of course. She leaned back on her chair, and grinned. Then she began to sketch again in her journal. That's what she always did in History of Magic, every class was just her sketching, and then when she was in the dorm she studied the stuff she didn't already know, which was rare because the books she had read as a child taught her more than this stupid class.

The girl smirked, and held back a chuckle, and the fellow Slytherin thanked her. It was true though, she did like them, and she did not like most people, so no it wasn't sarcastic at all, even though she had always been known for being sarcastic, she wasn't being sarcastic at the moment, just honest. "Oh trust me," she paused for a second and looked at Cass "I'm most definitely not a super nerd, and I"ll never be one either. I swear." That was the truth, super nerds freaked her out a bit, honestly. She didn't hate them, they just kind of scared her.

She laughed at their confidence. Violeta wasn't much of a swimmer, she never had been, even though she lived in California, which was known for beaches and warm sunny weather. She'd much rather stay inside inventing, sketching and reading than going out for a swim. Though whenever they visited their farmhouse, the girl would go for a swim either in their swimming pool, or her sisters would beg their older sister, Cassidy to take them to a lake near the farm, so they wouldn't have to spend the whole inside.

The Slytherin didn't waste this opportunity, she always swam along her siblings. She was certainly not the best out of her four siblings, but she was not the worst. Though she did always win races against her siblings, as she had always been the most competitive of the family. "Oh really?" she knew that the challenge was a joke, but she was starting to get competitive. "Would you though..? she said, confidently.

When they asked what she was drawing, she wasn't surprised, she had been drawing the entire lesson, and she didn't even try to hide what she was doing. "I have a knack for inventing things. So, whenever there's a boring lecture I'll just start planning something." "I have no idea what this is but, whatever." she showed them the drawing, even she didn't understand it yet, her hands just seemed to work on their own.
