Of course. The abandoned toilets. What better place to open a letter, or rather, just read it? Cassidy, being the girl she was had already torn open the envelope and read the whole entire thing, and here she was, ready to read it to the triplets, like she was a mother, reading a fairytale to her children.
But, no. She was just their older sister. She seemed sad, and looked like she had been crying. She had wiped off some black mascara, that's what it seemed like, only moments before calling her sisters. Cassie was a Ravenclaw, and by luck, the three were somewhere in the library, different spots, and she told them it was urgent. She had already read it. Of course, even though it said that all Roux children had to be present, but she was obnoxious, so she read it, and also, Daniel wasn't here, the youngest Roux child, and the only male.
The four of them walked together to the toilets, and oh, why would she choose the toilets? That was just stupid. When they arrived, Cassidy instructed them to sit down, but Violeta didn't, leaving her and Cassie standing there. Violeta leaned on a wall, and the eldest child started speaking.
She cleared her voice first, and gently removed the letter from the envelope. "I know the abandoned toilets are a weird place to do this, but, it's the only private place I could think of. So, you guys might be wondering why I called you all here." The three nodded, a bit curious. "Mother sent this letter, this morning, October 23rd." Violeta wondered why she had mentioned the date.
"Three days ago the- you know what I'll just read it." she paused for air, cleared her throat and began. "Dear children, I have some unfortunate news for you, and I really, really can't believe I have to tell you through owl, but I can't just go there to tell you guys in person, so I do apologize. The manor burned down, just a few days ago, on October 20th, and, me and your father and Rosie are thankfully safe, but we've lost absolutely everything. We've found a nice place to stay, with the Moonshadows, another pure-blooded family, and we'll spend Christmas there. I get it if you don't want to come back and all, but if you do, I'll take you all shopping for a new everything! We're going to reconstruct the whole thing, your father has the original blueprints so, thankfully we can do that. I think the Moonshadows have a daughter that's the triplets age, Elvenia? That's all, Mother."
Katrina and Angel were both in tears, hugging each other, and Cassidy was also crying, but Violeta was frozen, speechless, her home, in flames, she couldn't even picture it, the only thing she could say was "Does Dani know about this?", and then she stormed off. To who knows where. The girls tried to stop her with words, but she didn't stop, she just walked away.
