Parents: Her mother is an Auror, and her father is a mediwizard. Her father moved from Canada as an adult because of a job opportunity, and meet her mom as he ended up being the one to heal her after tough days at work often.

The Lytle Line: The Lytle line is famous in Canada for being esteemed healers, vets, and magical creature trainers. Some insult the line by saying they are better with animals than they are with people. They are not so famous as to be easily recognized by just anyone at hogwarts, but most pureblood families, and well established wizarding families, would know of them. Her father, Johnathan Lytle is not famous, although he has won a few rewards in his job as a mediwizard. They also aren't strictly pure, often allowing their kids after the eldest to marry as they please. This practice was accepted as normal in the more muggle tolerant lands of Canada.

The Crow Line (her moms side): They are a rather traditional pureblood family, and are greatly insulted in not being a part of the sacred twenty eight. (They suspect the reason they are not included is because they are willing to marry wizardborns without entirely pure blood to prevent medical issues). However they still consider themselves pure because they will only marry a wizardborn from a well established family who's muggle blood is many generations back. The Crow line is known for taking up jobs in the ministry. Poppy's mom is a decorated Auror who is currently taking on top secret high profile cases now that her only daughter is at hogwarts. Also her uncle holds one of the highest ranks in the Dragon Research and Restrain Bureau.

Early Life:

Poppy ended up being mostly raised by her father due to her mother being off at work majority of the time. She also was partly raised by the tutor that taught her how to read, write, and basic mathematics.

She made friends with some other wizard kids but she was the youngest in the group. Also seeing the other kids in the friend group have their parents around more sucked. Especially because it felt like whenever her mom was home she was too tired to hang out with her at all. Meanwhile some of her friends were taught by their parents instead of having tutors.Yet as she grew up and learned about the important work of the ministry, she came to respect her mom for all she does. She still wished her mom could be home more often and have an amazing job, but knowing the reason did help.

She also got to visit her mom’s side of the family in their manner where her uncle, little cousins, grandparents, and portraits of the dead reside. There she learned about her mother’s side of the family hogwarts history. (Has memorized that her uncle and grandfather were hufflepuffs, her mom a slithering, and grandma a ravenclaw.) She doesn’t like the manner much because it’s formal and large compared to her home in Swansea.

Another damper on her childhood was simply the fact that there were no other kids her age around her. All of her older friends showed magic before her, and got their hogwarts letter before her, and left. Her final year before going to hogwarts was the loneliest. All of her closer friends were gone, and she felt like she was babysitting when she was hanging out with her younger friends.

First sign of magic:

she was climbing a tree when her friends, when one of her friends fell down and was hurt (just some bruises but kids can be very overdramatic so Poppy was worried). She asked where it hurt and then slapped the area and said ‘bad skin stop hurting’. When that just made things worse she apologized to the skin for hurting it more and her friend felt all the pain go away.

Going into hogwarts:

Her parents have high expectations of her going to hogwarts. She’s the first of her dads side to be going to hogwarts, which means she’s starting the Lytle legacy while carring on the Crow legacy and that’s no light feat.

The wand which choose her:
Wood: Cherry wood: This is a strong destructive wood that offsets the weakness of the unicorn hair core. It also makes her wand a nice light pink.
Core: Unicorn hair: this makes her wand faithful to her, yet also refuses to turn to dark magic. Poppy has even had trouble casting protective curses and jinxes with it unless she has been sourcing her reason to cast the spell in protection.
Overall: When not using dark magic, or using dark magic for self defense/defense of her loved ones her wand produces strong magic, however it refuses to produce magic for purely dark purposes.
