Summer-ly Tug of War

25th of July
Oonagh had taken to the beach scene that was leftover from the Battle of Seasons and just tossed some rope on the ground haphazardly before looking around for students who might be interested. The rope itself was pretty long and sturdy, which was good enough for a game of tug of war and the sand beneath her feet would make this even better. While she originally had no intention to join the game, she was also not opposed to joining if they happened upon an uneven number of players. Because who could say no to a little game of tug of war?
She kicked the sand before securing her stance, cupping her hands around her mouth to act as some kind of amplifier and shouted. "ANYONE UP FOR A GAME OF TUG OF WAR?!"
With that she grabbed a stick from the ground and drew a line in the ground to mark the middle of the playing field. She would be a referee and in true referee fashion (at the very least if this was the muggle world she was so used to) she grabbed a whistle from her pocket and stood at the ready to mark the beginning of the game.

Summer-ly Tug of War

Roleplaying as Hans Jenssen
'Anyone up for a game of tug of war?!'
A shrill shout ripped through the Quidditch stadium, decked out with the aftermath of water balloons and snowballs from the events of Summer Camp that had just ended. Despite not having attended the activity, Hans had watched from the sidelines (and actively regretted not joining), he was drawn by the offer of tug of war, and the familiar voice of a certain person he had became acquainted with (though this was a probably a negative rather than positive factor) intrigued him. The girl certainly had a lot of potential... perhaps a little too much if you asked the German.
'Hey there, cheater girl,' Hans said, putting his hands on his hips as he observed the haphazard nature of the entire situation - the barely visible line in the sand, the grubby rope on the ground, the short boisterous little demon overseeing the competition. 'You sure you're the best person to referee?' He teased pointedly, raising an unimpressed and very much annoyed brow. Despite this attitude, he swung to the side and hefted the rope, shifting the weight in his hands. 'Well?' He asked, tipping his head expectantly, 'When are we starting?' Looking around the field, condition a dismay after the just-finished Battle of Seasons, he derided, 'Or are you just too unlikable, hm?'

Summer-ly Tug of War

Oogie's gaze narrowed when a boy approached who she remembered from the sled race. He had been rather bad at it and she had left him behind rather quickly. "Being a sore loser doesn't suit you, Snowflake, maybe racing isn't your sport with how slow you are," she was quick to quip back, crossing her arms in front of her chest, eyes narrowed at the intruder. But he was right, there were few students around and fewer who had the guts for a game that required some actual work. She had been quick to realize that a majority of wizards and witches at this camp were absolutely useless and kept their noses stuck in books all day. Well not her, and if no one else could be interested in joining, she would find other ways to occupy herself with.
Her mane of untamed hair surrounding her, she narrowed her eyes further as the boy just kept on yapping. "Don't complain later, you sort of asked for it," she voiced smugly and that would be all the warning he got before she dug her feet into the sand for momentary support before launching herself at the boy and brining her fist up in an attempt to connect it with his jaw.

Sore loser? Well, the little she-devil was one to talk. 'The only sore loser I see here is you,' he quipped right back, body shifting to mirror the short little imp, arms crossed and eyes narrowed. 'And if you don't believe that, I'm not surprised, you're too blind to see it. But you will soon.' With a laugh at the comment regarding racing, being none other than a racer himself, amusement sparkled in his eyes in return for Oonagh's spunk. What was Hans expecting from this pest of a child though? Of course, fair play was not a written rule in Oonagh's book. In fact, one might even say she was an agent of chaos. She favoured foul play much more and it was evident as all intentions at tug of war were dropped. But if she was to play foul today, Hans would return foul.
As a clenched hand flew towards Hans' jaw (it must have been a ridiculous sight, for those passing, a 4’9’’ child attempting to strike down a 5’5’’ and obviously much stronger athlete), he opened his arms, as if teasing, "Right, you come at me." Come at him she did, but just before her fist could connect, he tipped his head backwards and allowed it to sail pass as he stuck out a foot to trip her instead. Straightening, he sent his own punch back, hitting her in the shoulder. While violence was not Hans' desired strategy and the punch itself was meant only as a part of a jest with a mere child he did not want to injure, he had hit too hard... accidentally. But you know what? Oonagh totally deserved it.

Summer-ly Tug of War

Oonagh recoiled as pain exploded from where he had punched her back. Though she was no stranger to punches and this was certainly not the worst one she had endured. If anything it helped her see clear and further fueled her desire to actually fight now. "Don't say I didn't warn you," she barked before spitting into the sand, a mixture of spit and blood, getting ready to strike back. "Like seriously, are you really that dumb or are you just very good at acting?"
She wouldn't lose, not to him or anyone. That was because even if a round hadn't gone in her favor, she would remain with plenty opportunity to strike back at a later point. If anything, she welcomed the excuse to start another fight at a later time, because the thought of a brawl thrilled her. She enjoyed the adrenaline rushing through her veins, firing up her brain and just letting actions speak louder than words ever could hope to achieve. Regardless of outcome of this fight, Oonagh would win this one way or another. Funnily enough, this quarrel was not even fueled by hatred or anger, not truly at least, just blood lust and a lack of braincells as she launched herself toward the boy once more, this time, in the hopes for her fist to actually connect. Him dodging once was alright, him doing it twice in a row would have been a blow to her ego and freshly built reputation and she could not let that slide. Not like anyone would believe him over her after his pitiful performance during the sled race where he had been left behind in the dust by a multitude of racers.
"That hit you landed was pure luck and you would do better admitting that too, Snowflake," she taunted, after herself successfully connecting her fist with his jaw. Perhaps she would draw blood, splitting his lip or something. He would surely deserve it for running his mouth like he dared. The irony of her thoughts were lost on her.

Summer-ly Tug of War

Roleplaying as Hans Jenssen
Raising a concerned brow as Oonagh recoiled at Hans' punch, he asked 'You alright?' He was still treating the fight like the play it was and continued, and gesturing to the free space behind the blonde, continued 'You know, feel free to back out of this whenever you want to. It's not like I'm gonna chase you with a rock or anything.' Exactly, because despite their shared appetite for exhilaration and that sweet rush of adrenaline, Hans was no barbarian like Oonagh and would much rather derive such pleasures from a more civilised source, such as racing, the sport the girl would claim he was so dreadful at. Of course though, the German did not need to ask to know the stubborn little thing would not be one to give up.
Every bit of her ego was proven to be still kept in tact as Oonagh drove another punch towards Hans' jaw and hit. The sharp pain ringing through his face was swiftly dismissed with a smile, crooked with the side of his lips split, but to those familiar with him, still an all-bit-too-familiar expression of untamed amusement. Giving no signal or sneer in return, he lowered his weight at an even swifter speed to land a kick on her shins just as she had taunted his ability. Raising his hands, he said with a laugh, 'Right, right, maybe that was pure luck. But at least I got luck on my side. You could be the one to talk once you stop losing, cheater girl. Let your actions speak for you here.' She might have been a cheater and to be fair, she could get however foul she desired. Yet it would not matter whether she cheated or not today, she would lose nevertheless.
Granted, outside duelling and martial arts, this was the first proper fight Hans had got himself into. The zealous boy had thought he would have been fighting off of passion, detestation, rage... anything but because a hot-headed little girl initiated one and he thought it would be embarrassing to back out.

Summer-ly Tug of War

Her upper leg flared up with pain upon being kicked. While Hans was not particularly strong, he was not quite weak either so it did hurt quite a bit. Oonagh wiped a curtain of curls out of her face. "I am fine, actually a good fight is all I needed in this stuck up camp with weird happenings," she muttered, "Back out? As if! Where is the fun in that, Snowflake". Oonagh would certainly not be the first to back out of this fight, unless she was one punch away from unconsciousness and as far as she was concerned she was still standing on both feet. Snowflake has had luck but even that would not be able to get him come out on top of this quarrel, Oonagh would do her best to make sure of that.
Attempting to retaliate with a kick of her own however, proved to be useless as her leg seemed somewhat useless with how much it was hurting but she would just shove the pain aside for now. Adrenaline was her best friend in this situation. Fighting like a true girl however she quickly raked her hand over his arm, scratching the boy in frustration of doing at least some amount of damage. That would at the very least sting the boy somewhat and did its job in making Oonagh feel a little more capable in handling this fight she had picked.
"Your nickname is so flawed by the way, I never cheated, you are just a sore loser, Snowflake" she argued with a roll of her eyes upon being called cheater girl once more. "It's not my fault they didn't specify rules." Not like she would have kept to the rules if there were any but under circumstances she could at the very least claim this to be a baseless accusation. It was not her fault that they had not embraced the lack of rules for the race in the same way that she had done. That was poor judgment on their side, not hers.

Summer-ly Tug of War

Roleplaying as Hans Jenssen
‘Aww, that hurt,’ Hans said, feigning pain as sarcasm dripped off his words. Truthfully, he had barely acknowledged her feeble attempt at a starch, raking strike having just managed to draw thin blood. ‘C’mon you chicken,’ he taunted, words verging onto laughter as he made a derogatory hand gesture, ‘At least try to land one, kid.’ Trying to catch his opponent off-guard himself, he swiped in for another kick at the pug-nosed blonde. Much to his frustration, the endearing cheater girl, now growing her ego beyond bounds, managed to evade his attack. Brushing it off with a crooked grin, he couldn't help but wonder how long this would last, impatience almost getting the better of him. Yet like her, his own adrenaline would surely find its mark, but if this was their entertainment, summer camp was seriously boring.
‘I think it's cute,’ Hans said, replying to her eye roll with an indifferent shrug. Considering the times he had detested being called "cute" as a child, he hoped it came across as an insult. 'Well, what should I call you?' he asked in relent, demanding, 'What's your name?' This was quite the unconventional method to become acquainted with someone, but it seemed like the fun was just starting.

Summer-ly Tug of War
Oonagh huffed in annoyance, her gaze piercing through the boy. "You must be daft," she accused. Her knuckles ached beautifully and she would not mind letting her fists talk again. She straightened up and pulled her hair out of her face, using her forearm as if to split a curtain of wild curls. 'Cute' he had called her, which frankly sounded like an odd choice of words after being beaten up by someone younger. He might be talking big game but even he had not gotten out of it unscathed and as for her injuries, she would wear them proudly after a battle well fought.
"The name is Oonagh," she replied, purposefully not returning the question as she put a hand to her hip and glared at the other boy. He had received the name she would use for him from now on and what a name it was, "Snowflake". There was not much more to it, a bit of defiance, a bit of boldness and a whole lot of crazy. Just how she liked to be. She went over and grabbed the rope discarded on the ground and slung it over her back.
"You would do well to remember it, 'cause I won't tell you again" Her Scottish accent thick as she spoke, before moving off, tired of waiting for anyone else to be joining this game of what had originally meant to be tug of war but turned into something much more fun in the end.

Summer-ly Tug of War

Roleplaying as Hans Jenssen
“Oonagh,” Hans repeated, laughing and charmed despite the younger student’s prevalent spunk. Looking her up and down as she planted a defiant hand to her hip, hers was a face - and of course, not to mention that unruly man of blonde hair - that he would have committed to memory even without her snarky reminder. His comment on her cuteness was not entirely baseless; she reminded him of a lion’s cub, and after all those creatures, though some would claim fearsome, were merely scaled-up kitty cats. Between the annoyed little huffs and spats on the ground, she sure was something.
“I’m Hans,” he returned despite her seeming indifference towards his name, curtly though not coldly, unbothered to share this new acquaintance’s disgruntlement when he had so enjoyed the thrill of the fight, and, in all honesty, her fierce company. Still with an unrelenting venom in his tone to match hers, he taunted, “But next time we meet I am expecting you to call me something more creative than ‘Snowflake’.” Tone tinted with his unyielding sarcasm, he mused, “This is quite a nice way to meet someone.”
Watching her retreat into the distance, Hans turned away himself with a smile - smug or sincere was difficult to discern. Soon he had fallen into one with the crowd once more, pushing back the hair fallen onto his forehead with the utmost casualness as if nothing had happened. Well, that was quite the ride.
