Viewed from the outside, the Arctic Expedition tent is composed of sturdy, coarse fabric coloured a soft, cloudy grey, and appears to be sewn together with thick blue and red thread. The shelter is dusted with a thin layer of ice and snow, and appears to be battling some intense winds, even when the air inside the stadium is perfectly still. A large, dark blue flag bearing an illustration of the Quidditch Stadium can be seen fluttering in the wind, posted in the dirt next to a small wooden trail marker that reads "Arctic Expedition Tent #X".

Inside, the tent is warm but utilitarian. Hiking and camping gear lines the walls, and from a cursory glance it's clear that the gear is genuine, should the occupants wish to plan any excursions. The ceiling is lined with ropes demonstrating various types of knots, as well as various colored cloth flags. On the rightmost wall of the tent is a large, detailed and accurate map of the Quidditch Stadium, including where each tent is located on the pitch. In the back of the tent is a little nook with a magical camera, set up to take pictures photobooth style. The camera is able to be removed, should you wish to take it on your adventures, but an anti-theft spell prevents it from being removed from the stadium.

Eight sturdy beds with thick, blue duvets line each side of the tent, four on each side, with a thick, faux-fur blanket sat on the end of each bed. The tent is kept pleasantly cool to allow its occupants to make use of these. Under each bed is a small trunk that the tent's occupants are welcome to fill with little keepsakes from their adventures over the next month. On the bedside tables you'll find some pre-made hiking snack kits, which are regularly refilled should anyone get a little peckish during the night.

This was not shorts weather. The ground was covered with snow, and if that wasn't enough the weather mirrored it. Calling this thing summer camp was false advertising, and she would like to make it known that she did not like it. Not one tiny teeny shrunken bit. Give her the rainforest any day, or Columbias summer heat. Anything but snow. She couldn't see how anyone could like it. It was wet, damp, and every other word for wet you could think of. Not to mention how cold it was. Who on earth thought that this was a good idea? Doomed to a summer of wintery misery, she was slightly cheered up when she looked at the tent assignments.

The only name she recognised from her list was her friend Ariam. Another Castelobruxo student, Acacia had met Ariam on the first day of school and they had been fast friends ever since. Any relief she felt over knowing one of her tentmates was quickly snuffed out when she saw the name of her tent. "Arctic Expedition". Anything with the word arctic in the name couldn't be good. Her worry only grew when she saw that some of the other tents seemed to be made out of ice. Wizards and their stupid desire to be fancy. Who on earth would want to sleep in something that cold? She jogged between the tents until she saw a trail marker reading "Arctic Expedition Tent #014". According to the sign ups, it looked like this was the tent she was doomed to live in until she could escape back home.

At least the tent appeared to be normal. It was honestly kind of a let-down from the outside, a strange sewn-together looking thing with sturdy fabric. The wind looked like it was about to blow it over, though where she was standing 5 feet from it the air was perfectly still. Still, she would gladly take familiar boring normal tents over the strange ice sculpture looking things she had passed on the way here. Clutching the one backpack she had brought, she strode up to the tent and stepped inside. A gasp escaped her mouth as she saw the interior. For one thing, it was much larger on the inside.

The first thing that caught her gaze was the floor. What kind of tent had a wooden floor? She had heard that wizarding tents were different from muggle ones, but this was something else. And beds? It looked like she wouldn't be needing that sleeping bag after all. Awestruck, she set down her backpack and the oversized hockey bag she used to carry her broom on the furthest bed. It looked like she was the first one here, as none of the other beds had bags on and there was no one else inside. Wandering over to the tents walls, her eyes took in racks of camping and hiking gear that looked actually functional. Perhaps summer camp wouldn't be so bad after all, as long as no one required her to touch snow ever again.

This was the first summer camp of Daniel's life and safe to say he was surprised. That could be taken two ways: one, he was excited and couldn't believe what the school had prepared. Or two, he was shocked by the snowy atmosphere of the place. Wasn't it summer, now? He wasn't built to withstand these freezing temperatures; he was a tropical guy, after all!

At the end of the day, if Daniel could play Quidditch, then everything was fine. That was the only reason he took the trip across the ocean, after all. If there wouldn't be any Quidditch matches, then he'd book the first flight back to Bolivia. He had a baby sister to spoil! Little Valentina had quickly stolen his heart, just as easily as the school had stolen him to represent them at an international Quidditch match.

When it came to tent sign ups, Daniel wrote his name on a list of fellow Castelobruxo students, one of which was a fellow Quidditch player. What role did Acacia play, again? Daniel wasn't too sure since so many people joined in the last month. Honestly, he couldn't care where he ended up as long as he had somewhere to sleep. He took note of the tent name and number, then headed off to find it.

The interior didn't surprise Daniel as much. It reminded him of the cabins Hogwarts would supply to the other foreign schools on their grounds, except there weren't any bunks. A red-haired girl [@Cass Ito as Acacia] was already inside when he arrived, to which he greeted, "¡Hola!" Hello! before picking a bed of his own. Daniel settled his belongings on one of the beds close to the door, but not right next to it.

As Ariam arrived at camp it was evident that this camp is not what they expected at all. For one this was no summer camp, as proven by the snow on the floor and the winter theme of the whole place. Lucky I did pack enough warm clothes to last the whole camp, I think. Ariam thought as they walked to the list with the names of their tent and tentmates, they did know two of the people they are in the tent with. Acacia, whom Ariam meet back on the first day of school, it's amazing how quickly they became friends. And Zyair, their quill pal from Uagadou, they have been sending letters to each other for quite a while now, it's exciting to be able to meet him in real life. Having another look at the list, this time paying more attention to the title, Ariam muttered to themselves, "So our tent is Arctic Expedition number fourteen, it can't be hard to find it."

Ariam was quite correct, it didn't take them long to find the sewn together fabric tent labeled #014. It looked quite unremarkable, not in a bad way though, in fact Ariam finds it quite appealing. As they stepped in and got a good look and the interior that warm pleasant feeling only got reinforced. The walls had plenty of outdoors gear and even a camera, Ariam makes a mental note to find a chance to use it during camp.

There were two people already here with their things set up on a bed, Acacia on the farthest one and a boy Ariam guessed is from castelobruxo but doesn't recognize on one of the closer ones. "¡Hola, cómo estás?" Hello, how are you? Ariam asked the two of them before setting their things on to a bed, in the end they picked the one across from Acacia. When they started to unpack a little by their bed they got to good look and feel fo the thick faux-fur blankets. These feel warm and comfortable, this is going to be a great summer camp. Ariam thought with a smile as they finished up and sat on their bed.

It had been fifteen minutes since Zyair said goodbye to Eba, his elder sister. It had been thirty minutes since they had left her house, and forty-five since Zyair had made sure his bag was packed with everything he needed. One hour ago, he was calling his sisters and mother to tell them he'd be home in a month, two hours ago he was eating breakfast at some muggle restaurant.

In his bag he had made sure to pack only the barest of essentials, he did not want to lug around a heavy bag for the entirety of the camp, that was a month of having to carrying around a suitcase or more- absolutely insane. Even if it was just sitting in a tent for the duration, Zyair had no interest in carrying something like that.

Finding the tent wasn't difficult by any means, just follow the markers and keep an eye out- something Zyair found himself particularly good at doing. What really was the difference between looking for a fallen toy and looking for the place he'd be living in for the next month? Mild at most.

He was not the first person in the tent, that was made clear by the voices already echoing through the cabin-like interior. Was the gear hanging along the walls real? Did the people setting up this event actually think that hiking was going to be an activity someone would partake in during the summer camp? It wasn't like this was a jungle or forest... it was just a quidditch stadium.

"Salut, amis."Hello, friends.

Before he went onto the whole 'introducing yourself to your temporary roommates', he figured he should get his stuff unpacked (or at the very least get out the stuff for his nightstand). Hair pick, hair brush, hair gel, comb... huh, he owned a lot of hair products, didn't he?"

Turning to the conversation (mostly just 'hello's and the like), Zyair took the time to note his tentmates. He knew that one of the people there was Ariam (although Zyair didn't know his face or voice), and that was it. He didn't recognize anyone else, even if the faces were vastly familiar to him. Probably passerby's when the school's met together at Hogwarts.

"Pardon for interrupting," he waved his hand, "I just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Zyair Ona'je. A Uagadou student..." Zyair trailed off, suddenly forgetting all of the English he had been taught. How did he convey his age? He could say he was a 'deuxième année'second year, but he doubted any of the other people there knew what that meant. Douze12 sounded a lot like deux2, and from the Spanish being spoken, Zyair didn't want his words to get lost in translation and make anyone think that he was two years old.

Ah, it was fine, he was sure everyone was probably his age, anyway.

By the time he got to his assigned tent, Judas was seething, the metaphorical steam coming out of his ears doing nothing to warm him in the face of the faux-blizzard that his British contemporaries had felt it appropriate to grace them all with. Or, more specifically, grace him with, as he genuinely didn't give a solitary flying fuck how anyone else was feeling about the camp's surprise theme. He'd packed in preparation of a summer spent in the warm embrace of British sunshine - not nearly as nice as the sun he could've danced with in Costa del Sol, but he'd lie in the bed he'd made - and now was left scrambling to assemble a wardrobe to accommodate his new reality. He'd owl his grand-mère grandmother and grand-tante great-aunt and have some of his things sent over, but if he ended up having to re-wear outfits, he would lose it.

Daniel was in his tent, at least. The Bolivian boy had been a fun distraction back at the Spring Ball, and certainly wasn't unpleasant to look at. The others were all strangers to him, but thankfully Judas wasn't shy by any sort of metric. New people were always a fun challenge, if nothing else, and his grand-mère certainly wouldn't be able to say that he was using his time here unwisely. While she cared far less about blood and status than most other witches in her circle - and most certainly less than his own mother seemed to - she still encouraged him to make as many positive connections as early as he could. Many a business deal had first had their groundwork laid out in childhood friendships, after all. Judas hoped to Merlin that he didn't end up in business, but he could play the part well enough.

Fashionably late as always, he was the last one to arrive at the tent by a good margin, and sent a dazzling smile towards his new tent-mates before lazily throwing his trunks down by one of the two beds closest to the door. He'd had to carry all of there himself, and he found himself missing the elves quite dearly. He made a cheerful, exaggerated show of dusting off his hands before making his way over to the group and and adopting a casual slouch as he reached his hand out to offer introductions. "Good morning, it's wonderful to meet you all. Crane, Judas Crane. I certainly wasn't expecting all this snow. I'm afraid that I'm horribly under-dressed for the weather I expect we'll be having this month." Not that his outfit of slacks and a short-sleeved button-down would be considered summer wear by muggle standards, but heaven forbid he ever wear shorts in public. At that point you might as well just give up on fashion entirely.

To Daniel, he turned with a crooked smile and said, "I'm so glad to see you again. I'll admit that I do miss the birds though, they added such a lovely pop of color to your ensemble. Please tell me that the weather in Bolivia is nicer than this, I'm desperate for something else to fantasize about."
OOC: Sorry to keep you all waiting on me! Unfortunately I am like this and will do it again.

You are just distracting. Distracting to look at perhaps. Maybe it is your wit or your charm, your grace or something else about you that is intangible but absolutely present.

She wasn't alone in the tent for long, as mere minutes after she had set down her stuff she was greeted by the familiar face of a fellow castelobruxo quidditch player. She didn't know him very well, but the point was she had seen him around before. Giving him a nod and a smile, she turned towards the task of unpacking. It barely took her two minutes, seeing as she only had one bag to do and the only real thing to do with it was shove it under the bed. Turning around after hearing the rustle of someone entering the tent, she grinned. "Ariam!" she said, happy to see a friend. His Spanish though, made a question pop up in her mind. Their tent mates couldn't all be castelobruxo students, what if one of them spoke another language? She was pretty good with english herself, as one of her foster families had only spoken it. Being bounced around so much as a kid meant that she had a decent, if rough grasp of a few languages actually. But what if one of them was french? Or like Russian or something? She did not know one word of either of those languages. God, that would make the tent so awkward if they didn't figure something out.

It wasn't long before she were joined by yet another tentmate, this time not one she had seen before. She gave him a nod as well, trying to place the language he had greeted them in. "Your good" she replied "Not an English speaker? español?" Spanish. It seemed she might be attempting to pick up a new language this summer. "Im Acacia, Castelobruxo" she said. She wondered if it was to soon to bring up quidditch. Ever since discovering the sport, she had been surprised to find out that not everyone wanted to talk about it all the time. The tent flap was opened once again, and another boy entered. Was she going to be the only girl in this tent? Two guys and an Ariam meant that it was looking like she would be.

Ah well, she would survive. She had quidditch to look forward to. The weather though was definitely something she could agree on. It was a horrible lie to get her to come here expecting "warm" (for England at least) weather and then see the entire campground covered in snow. If she ever found out who organized this thing she would shove some of their stupid snow in their face. She had only packed like two pairs of long pants, this was not okay. "Tell me about it" she said with a groan "This weather sucks" .
