Describe why this fits your character:

This night held quite the challenge for the young DeSantis. It was a quiet night, save for the occasional sound of a wave splash, and yet Viviana couldn’t sleep. It wasn’t that this was an uncomfortable night, quite the opposite actually, today was part of the month she would be spending on vacation with her parents and siblings. They were housed on a beach in Venice, with the lapping waves ahead of them and relaxing surroundings, that drowned out any ounce of worry.

Viv decided to get up out of her bed, perhaps she could relax on the shore, watch the sky maybe? She’d find out on the way. With pajamas on and a sneaky stance she slunk away and out the front door, looking around for her parents before moving onto the beach to chill. Of course, she sat in a chair so that the sand wouldn’t ruin her pajamas, it was a success, and yet, she wasn’t out of the water yet.

The night was quiet, exactly as it should be, and yet that quiet began to feel less luxurious and more unsettling… Viviana took a moment to pause and then look around, nobody would hurt her, right? This was a safe place, no dangers would lurk among the DeSantis’ lodging! It just didn’t make sense, sure enough, as time went on the unsettling atmosphere got thicker, feeling more sinister… dangerous… imminent…

She was grabbed!

Sharp nails held onto her, reinforcing the grip that subdued her, directly after, she felt a sharp pinch in her carotid arteries, the pain was intense, and was nothing compared to the feeling of being drained. She struggled and called for help, waiting on a response….. any response! Please…. She was losing a lot of blood, and her mind wasn’t able to focus… it felt cold…did it? With less blood being able to carry enough oxygen, thoughts were harder to form. It was almost guaranteed that this would be the end

She was almost ready to close her eyes, with fighting becoming more difficult, yet a bright light shone like a beacon, everything around her shone from the fine point of a wand, and though she was too shocked to hear what was actually yelled the vampire surely knew what is was and it’s weakness to light based spells caused it to reel back, trying to avoid the damaging flash, it let go immediately, cowering in fear at the luminescence. As soon as the save happened, it was over, the vampire (in a weakened state) made its escape, with some of its blood hitting Viviana’s face, survival wasn’t guaranteed. Viviana rested there, dead and not all at once. Her skin turned a pale grey, her eyes remaining green but the grey became accentuated, her lips were more red than before and her upper canines fell out almost immediately, Viv weakly spitting them out, as to not choke and then licking her lips that some of the vampires blood happened to hit. It was unfortunate that her family had to see her in this condition, but she was still kicking, even if she happened to appear dead. Despite her survival however, she was weak and soon had passed out.

She awoke again, her body aching from the rapid physical changes that she underwent, she woke up in her bed, with her brothers keeping a close, hawk-like stare at her. It was all a bad dream, right? The gaps in her teeth said otherwise… she stirred to signal that she was alive. Like reflex, her brothers came over and showered her with relieved affection. Doting on her like never before. Her parents came soon after to console her, after which they lightly scolded her for doing something so dangerous.

Viviana had gained a lesson that day, her status didn’t make her invincible, and yet it wasn’t like the lessons she read in books, quite the opposite really, her curse would not be lifted, she would be stuck like this forever, and eventually she’d have to go back to Birmingham forever changed.

Biography:

Physical Description: Viviana is a squat, pale-olive skinned girl of about 11 years. She possesses large ,greyish-green, eyes with a striking stare gifted to her by her father. Housed in the middle of her face is a pointy, be-speckled nose and atop her head is brunette wavy hair that she takes care of herself, taking great pride in it. She has a noticeable Italian accent that comes from it being her first language and the primary one she uses with family. Some say her voice is somewhat melodic no matter the mood she’s in, being higher in pitch with fluctuations in tone.

Mental Description: Viviana, much like her name would suggest, is lively, but only lively around those she loves and those she dislikes, anyone who is “ambiguous” to her usually isn’t paid much attention, like side characters to her. once you do befriend her she can really start to live up to her name, being very playful and silly, in some cases she won’t even shut up. Above all else she holds herself cordially in public, making sure that if people must know her, they know her best side above all else, lest they see her monstrous side instead.

Biography: Born in Sardinia circa 2012, Viviana was brought into the world by a fairly well-off family, living in a household with her mother’s parents, mother, father, uncle and 2 older brothers. The family crammed in together when they moved to Birmingham with their money. Viv’s father and uncle were men of opportunity, and decided that they would both move up the social ladder in the British ministry to get high paying jobs to continue providing (It was their belief that England would be a hotspot for moneymaking) and so Viviana and her siblings would have to assimilate in this new country while the guys worked their magic.Viviana was very close to her father but due to the change, her father would be working extra hours to prove himself useful, meaning Vi would see him less and less. She did have other family at home of course, but her father was incredibly important to her, they were extremely close, having spent a lot of important memories together. And now here she is, at the present day, Attending Hogwarts with less than joyous expectations about her future. An average day in Viviana’s life usually consisted of time spent inside the house, she would read books, mess with her brothers and gossip with her mom about little things she heard. She typically didn’t have much to worry about until her Dhampirism, the family tried keeping it a secret from Viviana’s grandmother, as she was very religious and would not tolerate a Dhampir sharing a home with her. Other than that, her turning didn’t really affect her lifestyle, to curb it Viviana wasn’t allowed around injured people, no matter how much she wanted to help. Finding out that she was going to go to a huge school without someone to guide her was scary, to think that she could bite someone without really “wanting” to, she could hurt someone, or ruin her family’s name. Regardless she did have a bit of excitement for the coming days, perhaps she’d meet someone who would guide her, maybe keep her out of harms way. Viviana would kill for a friend, yeah, she’s had friends before of course, but, being a kid, they were just friends half the time and bullies the other half. She couldn’t really rely on them for much other than being fun, and her money made coming by them much easier than is likely normal. Despite all of this, she isn’t aware of these friends being fake, thinking this skewed friendship is what it’s all about. Viv’s relationship with her parents is very healthy, she can come to them for help, answers or guidance, and she really looks up to her father for his ability to provide for such a large home, since her mother doesn’t work, Viviana can spend a lot of time with her, and they do, with the two usually spending the most time out of anyone else, they talk, Viv helps with cooking, they discuss the latest happenings, she wouldn’t prefer it any other way. When her dad is back, or when he is with them, on break, Viv talks him into a headache, it makes up for his usual absence, to the point where she will memorize patterns in his day so she can talk to him as many times as he’s available. Her relationship with her brothers is joyous, majority of the time they aren’t all together but when they are they all have playful fun, getting louder and more energetic than usual, sometimes even accidentally breaking things in their way. To summarize, they seem to get almost dumber when they’re together.

First Instance of Magic: Viviana found herself in a bit of a pickle, a party was to be attended and of course that meant getting dressed, a hat that she felt was fairly uncomfortable was ordered to be worn by her grandmother. She sat, pouting to herself and sighing. Soon her mother would enter, coming to put the hat on her, Viviana tried dodging the hat a few times to avoid it, but when it didn’t work out she knocked it away. Soon after hitting the ground, it began to burn, almost as red as Viviana’s frustrated face. Once her mood cooled so did the combusted hat. Her mother was not necessarily surprised at the expression of magic but that it happened. She was afraid that the little three year old would become a squib, but this changed everything! Though she should have been mad about the destroyed hat, she couldn’t help but applaud her daughter.
