It was a hot summer day. The heat was felt immensely by the residents and the visitors of Diagon Alley. In the Magical Menagerie, children bustled in and out of the shop, buying pet supplies or their very own pet. Eugenia could hardly wait to visit this place. She already has a Maltese dog at home, but since she was going to Hogwarts, she had to get something else to keep her company.

Finally, Eugenia entered the Magical Menagerie. Her mom, who stood next to her leaned down to her ear. Eugenia dear, look at all the options! What do you want to get? Personally, I suggest a toad, a cat or an owl. Eugenia looked up. Her mother was wearing high heels, she was a bit taller than her when she wore them. Hmm… I really don’t know what to get.

There were all sorts of animals in the Menangerie. She had ruled out some of them. She obviously didn’t want a spider or a rat, but she did not really wish to have a toad or a lizard either. She also walked right past the fish and the ferrets. Ferrets might be cute, but they aren’t really something I would like, to be honest.

Eugenia walked to one side of the shop. There were bunnies, owls, and cat. She gazed at the bunnies first. There were lots of them, all of different colours. Eugenia looked at them for a moment. They hadn’t even noticed her. She honestly felt a little empty at the moment, and she didn’t really want to get one. They did not appeal to her. Before leaving, she thought of her mother’s advice. A cat, owl or toad. Toads were out of the game, just owls and cats left!

Then, she walked over to the owl display. Oh mum look at them! They are so so pretty! There were so many different varieties, more than the bunnies. They were of various sizes and colours, some of them melting Eugenia’s heart. Then, she looked at the cats. The same applied to these animals too. They were so cute! Oh mommy! Why is so difficult to decide! Hmm, cat or owl, cat or owl? Mum! Her mother just stood there and listened, a broad smile on her face. My dear, you are perfectly capable of making a decision. So, what do you want? Which pet will you get?

Since her mom was not going to help her, Eugenia had to decide on her own. So, cat or owl? She stood there for a minute. For some reason, the cats attracted her more. She walked over to them. Instantly, she noticed a beautiful Silver Siberian. They locked eyes. That was when she knew that this was going to be her school companion. She picked up the cat and walked over to the shop owners. Hello, could I buy this Silver Siberian and some pet supplies for it?

That day, Eugenia left the shop with a happy smile and her own cat, purring happily.
